I have a bone to pick with my mother as when she recommended this book to me, she did not tell me I would be sobbing at midnight in my bed. Someone hold me.

There's a lot going on in this book. Alot of emotions flowing. But in the end, I just HAD to upload book 2 ;)

Incredible story, utterly heartbreaking yet also hopeful and inspiring. The main character, Maisie, returns to her hometown after being gone for years and reconnects with her estranged friends. All of them are women in their forties and fifties, mature and intriguing, and the kind of main characters I didn’t know I needed but absolutely loved. Their friendship is truly the heart of the story, and we get to know all of them, though the focus is mostly on Maisie and what brought her back to Beach Cove. Maisie is a fascinating character, very complex and well-written, strong and fragile both. My heart just broke as I discovered what she’s gone through, and even more so when she finally gets the answers she’s been looking for. Near the end, I cried, just overwhelmed with emotion. The writing is evocative, and the characters are nuanced and feel very genuine. My interest was definitely piqued by the glimpses we got into the lives of Maisie’s friends, so I can’t wait to see what’s next for them.

An intriguing novel, focusing on Maisie’s return home to try and solve the mysterious disappearance of her son, Alex, ten years previously. My early impression was that this was a sequel or a spin-off to another book which was initially rather disconcerting; however, I’m glad I continued reading as I was drawn in to an amazing novel.
Although Maisie’s heartache is eased when the mystery of her missing son is finalised, it is a bitter-sweet resolution that still takes her some time to process…until she realizes where she truly belongs.

This book got off to a very slow start. It would have been nice to know in the first couple of paragraphs that the main character's son had been missing for 10 years and that her husband committed suicide. It would just be nice to know why a book starts off with so much negativity. It finally explained that. However, I didn't understand why the main character didn't want her best friends to know that she was home. Everyone needs someone for support, and it would have been nice if she had turned to them, or - better yet- if she had never cut them off. Also odd, the friend throwing down the pizza box. Kind of odd. If she was that mad at her, why even show up? I don't see the big fuss, it was negative and got off to an incredibly slow start.

Great story!
I liked this story because it was very interesting and the characters were real life like. Dad but in a good way toward the end as the mother got closer and could move on with her life. Loved those gals, the way friends do friends by having each others backs. I did have one problem with the story though. If the boy died by accident. Who buried him? Still other than that I loved all about this book. I liked the writers writing style it kept my interest from beginning to end. Keep writing you are good at it. I can't wait to start book 2 and the other two after that. Thanks for sharing your talent with me. Pegge

good Read
I always enjoy reading about friendships especially in series. This didn’t really disappoint, but like so many books, there’s poor editing. Mostly silly little things. But without doing a spoiler alert, it seems far fetched that Alex had been texting with friends (and their phones were checked) yet no clue as to where he was or that he’d eaten “wild grapes” but the texts (plural) he’d sent to his mother with all the information didn’t go through. But will read the next one.

I found this book hard to read. I understand it is the first in this series and the author was trying to give us some history of the four women who had been best friends for many year, but it was a little challenging for me to follow each woman's history and story. Plus the undercurrent of this book was based in a 10 year old tragedy which I also found difficult to read. I started with the Bay Harbor Beach series which I loved very much. I was introduced to these 4 women in that series as well. I expect I will enjoy the rest of this series more now that I have a basic understanding.

She left her Beach home after her husband committed suicide. That was after their son went missing and was never found after his girlfriend left him at the beach after breaking up with him. She was coming back for closure and had several life long friends to greet her, befriend her and watch over her. She hadn’t even told them good buy after leaving the beach house. But God brings healing and forgiveness as they all stick to her to keep up her spirits while finally getting closure from her son’s disappearance ten years ago. Very heartwarming. Healing and trust is restored

I found this book difficult to get into I don’t think it was well written, lots of little paragraphs which say next to nothing. The story line followed Maisie who returns to her old home after a period of 10 years to try and find her son who went missing just before that. The story is predictable and the simplified ending follows a buildup as a group spend time searching and then eventually call in specialist dogs who immediately find the remains of a body hidden in an overgrown area.

I read this general fiction women’s drama book to start off the year - it has big emotions, an exquisite setting, deep connections and it is a heartfelt read throughout. I enjoyed the real, raw aspects of the friendship between the four women Maisie, Cate, Sam and Ellie. Was refreshing to read of friendships like this and it begs the question of how many in our world actually have this beautiful blessing.

Decent book. If I weren't unemployed & injured, I might not have kept going. Why? There are so many details that seem useless and slow down the plot. I'm an extremely detail oriented person and felt this way. I'm continuing on with the series because by the end of the book, it got better. All of that to say, it's slow to get into & the character's names are so similar, except Maisie, that I have a tough time differentiating who is who.

I received an ARC to review: believe it or not, chic lit is not my go-to genre! 😉 But I thoroughly enjoyed Beach Cove Home. The deep relationships between friends, though suspended by 10 years, picked up where they left off. Living beyond spousal suicide, newfound friendships, the solving of a decade-old mystery ... All made for a fulfilling read!

I loved the Maine coastal setting of this book. Maisie is devastated after the disappearance of her 16 year old son and subsequent suicide of her husband. For 10 years she has been searching for him and denying herself any pleasure in life. But returning to her home on the sea and reuniting with close friends she finds a strength she didn’t know she had.

This book is full of strong women that supports one another in the loss of their best friends son that went missing ten years ago . Now their long lost friend is back to finally get some answers and in the process heal their friendship and herself . I highly recommend this gripping story .

I really enjoyed this book. I especially appreciated the main characters, who were older women that I could relate to. I was drawn in and hooked from chapter one. The storyline and characters were not some Hallmark "feel good" women but realistic , people with there own struggles. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next installment of the series.

Slow!
But the last 100 pages made it worth finishing. The landscape description was quite well written. I could visualize the sea, the home and the small town. The husbands are all extremely weird, not sure why the women put up with them. Just OK for me. I am curious where the wild eyed fisherwoman fits in, and I have a good theory, but not enough to keep reading the series.

Emotional Read
Even thought I thoroughly loved the story, I must tell readers that my tear ducts got a workout. Having lost my only son, I can tell you that only a mother who experienced this knows what another mother goes through. Parts of the story were heartbreaking but there were also some happy parts as well. I consider this a perfect read, and I loved it.

This is a very touching story about four women who have been friends for years and the support they give each other. I enjoyed the characters and look forward to learning more about these amazing women.

This was a very sad read. How does one deal with a missing teen, an only child? How does one deal then with the loss of one's husband with no information on the missing child? This book deals with tragic loss and re-establishing friendships, while finding out the truth.

Maisie has been gone from Beach Cove for 10 years since her son disappeared. She came back so these people can make a podcast to see if they can find out what happened to her son. Her friends were so happy to have her back for now.

I found this so sad but when you have friends that don't give up on you you have all the wealth that you need. Masie's sadness and every parents nightmare could only be healed by serious support and care. I can't wait to see what happens next.Enjoy!

Excellent Read!
This was an extremely interesting story it grabs you right away. You try to figure out what’s going on and emotions are strong and grab you. You feel so bad but it’s awhile before you get the whole story. I really enjoyed this book.

This was a great story, but so hard to read. Maisie's pain is so raw and real, and it was hard to let myself connect with her for the pain it would cause. But it was a wonderfully written story, with hope through friends and a satisfying conclusion.

Loved this book. The characters were written and described so well. The main premise of the book is Massie looking for her son who disappeared 10 yrs ago. With a beautiful beach house and 3 amazing friends, massie finally gets her answer.

Good Book
I enjoyed this book because it was so realistic, read if you want to see what friendship is. I loved the group of friends that took care of one of their own when she didn’t even know how much she needed them.
