Omega Taskforce #6

The Vanguard

Rate this book
Earth is lost, but despite the situation appearing hopeless, Captain Lucas Sterling knows that the war is far from over. Now they are no longer fighting to save humanity – they are fighting to avenge it. In order to strike at the heart of the Sa’Nerran empire, Sterling must first destroy the alien super-weapon that laid waste to Earth and the inner colonies. It seems like another impossible task, but this time Sterling has an ace up his sleeve in the form of new recruit, Ensign One. Even so, to succeed in his mission, Sterling must make the hardest decision of his life – one from which there is no turning back. With the stage set for the final battle with the Sa’Nerra, Sterling must unite the surviving factions in the Void in order to mount an assault on the alien home world. With the Fleet Dreadnaught Vanguard leading the attack, the newly-revitalized Omega Taskforce is finally ready to repay blood with blood. However, this time Sterling and his crew must not only face the emissaries of the Sa’Nerra, but the leader of the Sa’Nerran empire itself – the fearless and cruel Sa’Nerran Imperator. The Omega Directive is in effect and the only way it ends is with the annihilation of the Sa’Nerran empire, no matter the cost.

Was It Worth It?🚀🔥💥 For Prosterity? Hell Yeah!

ADULT Military 🔪🔫Sci-fi Galactic War💫💥🔥 Adventure 🚀

In this sixth and final book in this series, Commodore Lucas Sterling🐺👊💪🔪🔫 makes his last push to get to the home planet 🌍of the Sa'nerra and destroy💥 it with his vessel, Vanguard🚀.
Absolutely mesmerizing ,but painful to read fighting scenes👊💪🔪🔫 take place aboard the Vanguard 🚀. I was enthralled and scared for Sterling🐺👊💪🔪🔫 and Banks💃👊💪🔪🔫, as I had come to really get to know and like their characters over the entire series. It was quite emotional and realistic!

Lucas🐺👊💪🔪🔫 is somewhat of a tortured soul but he knows his destiny and what he must do is justified and necessary, and he's come to terms with being a killer💥🔪🔫. Highly Recommend!

The actionpacked finale of the series with a few surprises along the way. Very good military SF with characters you'll remember.

It is do or die time for our heroes, one last chance to make a future for humanity, but the enemy is not just going to roll over and let it happen. It is up to our team to make this one count.

This is book six and the conclusion of the series. It works pretty well as a standalone, but it will be a more enjoyable experience if you start at the beginning.

This is an intense, fast paced military SF story. The story is very well written, with a lot of depth to both the setting and the characters. The plot is intense and fast paced, with lots of twists and turns along the way that keep you on your toes and unsure what is going to happen next. I found myself intrigued by the world and drawn in from the beginning with a story that is intense, exciting and very engaging right up to the dramatic conclusion. Overall, it was a great series and I look forward to seeing what our author creates next.

Highly recommended.

Heart-pounding, adrenaline-fueled, action-packed military sci-fi at its finest! This is probably the darkest book in the darkest series I have read by Ogden - some of the fight scenes are brutal. Lucas's crew might be terrifying, but the enemy is the stuff nightmares are made of and this battle will push both to the breaking point. Omega Directive is in effect, but some decisions are even outside of its mighty reach.

If you haven't read the previous books in the series, do yourself a favor and start from the beginning. This book is the culmination of so much that has been building since book 1. If you have been reading along - this ending will not disappoint! Lucas and his crew face the biggest fight and some of the toughest decisions yet. This Omega Captain and his crew might be cold, but there is still a spark of humanity within them.

The final chapter!

This is the final chapter of the Omega Taskforce series, bringing a close to the war for existence between the Sa'Nerrans and humanity. The fight is down to Commodore Lucas Sterling, Captain Mercedes Banks and Ensign One. The Fleet Dreadnaught Vanguard and Fleet Marauder Invictus will bring the fight to the Sa'Nerran homeworld, hopefully ending the war for existence.

Our remaining heroes fight overwhelming odds to gain dominance over the alien enemy, fighting down to the last man, the bitter end for one group of the combatants, a bleak future for the survivors. Can our friends have a happy ending? We'll see! Great characters, an amazing storyline from a master storyteller! Great read!

I would like to thank Booksprout and the author for providing me with access to a review copy of this book.

This is another edition of the action packed, fast-paced, space-combat themed series of books. The story follows the pattern of the previous books, with some characters changing but retaining a core set to take us through the story.

Easy to read, pretty quick read. Designed to place the reader in an alternate future reality and imagination. Plainly a military science-fiction genre with action as the main goal.

Great conclusion to a great series, almost perfect, no chairs on a spaceship not so much.

This is a great cast of characters, very good woven plot. Fast paced enjoyable from beginning to end. If you like action adventure, humor and good camaraderie between characters you’ll enjoy this book. You have to love Lucas and Mercedes as well as ensign one. I would give this book at five except as usual can’t get behind no chairs on a spaceship. Read the book, read the series you’ll enjoy it.

Military SciFi Space Adventure on a Battle Star GALACTICA scale.

It’s a full series over six books long. Read from 1 to 6 for the full picture. It’s fast paced and furious with interesting characters leading the story. Minimal politics to distract, just full on blast them out of space action.
The story line is well developed over the entire series keeping interest alive. One or two repetitious phrases that began to annoy me like “huffed a laugh”… and a couple of dream sequences that went on far too long and really were unnecessary. Still, a great story and worth the read.

Sorry to see it end...

What A great book series. I positively loved all of the books ....... I hate it to see the series end , but All good things must come to an end. I have put other series aside in order to finish this one. I normally try to stretch the series out , but it was hard to do with this one. The characters were so well written I feel like I know them personally. Thank you Mr. Ogden for the greatest adventure I've read in a while...... Now, if you'll excuse me , I headed for the kitchen to make myself a #27!!

Earth has been taken, all that's left is revenge and to destroy the Sa'nerra homeworld. With the Vanguard restored and an army of machines, Sterling and his remaining crew look to ensure humanity are not totally destroyed. Good story and conclusion to the series.

Brilliant Series

The whole series is really well written, although some minor grammatical errors were noted but had no effect as the storylines were superb and kept me on my toes. I read the whole series in 8 days!

The Omega Taskforce series

A wonderful series. With all of the times they should have died, they made it out in one piece. Sort of.
