This is not only an excellent history of Polamalu’s career, it is also a very good history of the the Pittsburgh Steelers during time that Troy played there. All young athletes would benefit from reading this book. It teaches how to behave on the field and off and the importance of hard work and dedication to your sport. Troy Polamalu was one of the greatest players to ever have played for the Steelers and he was even a better man and an example to his teammates. We may not see a human being like him again in professional sports.

Great book about my all time favorite player. They interviewed so many different people who were teammates or coaches of his and they all had nothing but great things to say about who he was as a person, let alone a football player. In my totally unbiased opinion he is the greatest of all time. The last few chapters about the Steelers losing the superbowl in 2011 (I still remember how upset I was that day) and how that was his last great year before he started to get injuries and they lost all the stars from that great defense and went into a rebuild were pretty sad. Also how he was unceremoniously pushed into retirement before he wanted to be. Even the great ones dont get to go out on their own terms I guess.

I may be biased, but I loved the book. It was obvious to me that the author put a ton of effort into the stats, reviews, conversations and history. Great job! I know that Troy is a bit reclusive, but he has been so inspiring as a player, and it would be wonderful to share at least some of his inner thoughts and his own inspirations. All good....I appreciate him as a person even more than before.
