😳😳
Whew the end of this book really made me want to continue the series because honey, I didn’t know if I would. I wasn’t connecting with the two main characters at first but I guess my mind changed a little lol
This book is centered around Andreka and Kapri aka Krucial. Andreka was the longtime gf to the leader of a gang named the Yobs. Moe ended up saving Andreka from an almost devastating situation and she fell in love with him. They had a son and were living happily ever after - or so Andreka thought…
Krucial is the leader of the Yobs biggest rival gang - the Lunatics. Y’all…Krucial was insane. He was so disrespectful, I almost couldn’t stand it. He slapped the taste out of so many people’s mouth in this book I was appalled 😂 anyway, when he and Dreka first laid eyes on each other - there was an instant attraction. Being the disrespectful man that he is - Krucial let Moe know he would be taking his woman AND raising his kid as his own 😳
Some tragic events take place and Krucial begins to apply serious pressure to Dreka. He wanted her and wouldn’t stop until he got her. But being that she was affiliated with the rival gang - of course there was problems.
Listen. Krucial is not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but I came to understand that he was just rough in the streets - he had to be. But with his family - he was just Kapri.
The drama with the side characters really entertained me. Iyanna got done SO WRONG, Essence was trash (long booty as*), the Mai/Tai/Jory storyline has my attention, and I know Lolly’s dog as* is gonna wear Iyanna down. Moe’s mama was TRASH. the daddy too for going along with it.
There were some bombs dropped at the end of this and I need to know how, what, when, and why!?

That ending was crazy!!!
Man this book was everything!!! I need to mention Krucial smacked like 20 people in the book😂😂 he was bae and I honestly would've left Moe right at that gas station!! I really liked Dreka, she had it rough from the start but mama hustled!! Please It Anna don't get with lolly, I can't stand him ( 🖐🏿🖐🏿 here's two smacks for that shiny bald head 😂) Jory idk what you got do bruh but I can't lie I ain't mad at you cause your girl is trash! Krucial is about to paint the city red I know that much!! Can't wait to get into book 2!

Whew! That ending right there!
As much as Kapri wore me out with his mannish self...he was one of the best written male characters I've read in a while. He was so smart and calculating. I loved his energy and no nonsense disposition. I can't believe how this thing ended and want to hurry up and get to book 2. Just wanted to let people know to read this book. It's funny. It's messy. It's smexy. It's everything!

Whew long but good book. This was my first read from this author and it will not be my last! Can’t wait for part two because that ending had me on the edge of my seat.

Disappointing.
Sometimes I keep reading things because I’m fascinated by how bad it is and I can firmly say that this is one of those stories.
The story is all over the place and reads like a first draft in need of content editing. None of the characters are redeemable. Quite a bit of a colorism theme going on here. Spots of homophobia and A LOT of misogynoir. Makes it hard to even enjoy this as an escapist read. I could not tell you the plot for the life of me because every other chapter starts has a side story and POV. Supporting characters suddenly have whole chapters about their lives in a way that does not add to the plot as demonstrated in the synopsis. Last but not least, but something I already touched on... damn near every character in this book is abusive in some way, cheating, or simply just dense.
I’ve read things much more interesting and a bit more flushed out from this author. Where I would expect some growth after the amount of time I’ve been reading some of her work, this doesn’t quite make the cut of what I know she’s capable of as an author in my opinion.

Okay…I decided to give it another chance. I don’t love it, but I was able to get through it. Just messy messy.

I wanted to give this book a chance because I LOVED She got it bad for a Heartless Gangsta, but this one is too much. Just from reading the summary I know that Drika is going to move on to the man that she dates despises. I don’t like that concept but I was trying to overlook it. Then came the are mistakes in the age gapping.
At the start of the book, Drika was 17 and said her sister was 13…then it skips ahead six years. Drika is now 23 but said that her sister was 16 so it went from a 4 year age gap to a 7 year age gap. I was already trying to push through the book, but that ruined it for me.

Baby, this book is the prime example of why I always say: a man will play with you as long as you let him. Be crystal clear about what you want in a relationship, know what you will and won’t accept, and set your boundaries with a timeline. The second somebody crosses those lines MOVE ON!!!!!. Because at the end of the day, nobody is going to respect you more than you respect yourself.
This story is a whole game being played in their faces. The only one with some sense and still crazy is Krucial. He gotta be related to Ocean 👀 And that cliffhanger? I downloaded book two so fast. I’m just glad this series is already complete because waiting would’ve tested my patience!

Krucial fits the rude boy, alpha, bae to the t. Just as always we have a new cast of characters with various relationship issues to keep us entertained and invested. I wasn’t ready for the twist with the McCoulloghs. I am here to see karma come into play as the series continues!

Moe is a simp and disgusting for how he did Dreka and their son. I really hope that Kapri hurry up and find Dreka and finally get rid of Moe. It's crazy to find out that OD and Kapri are brothers. This was my first read by this beauty and she did not disappoint, so glad one of the beauties in one of my book clubs recommended it👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. I'm just saying, she ain't have to end it like that tho, like dayyyuuummm Gina😔! From go this book had me like😳, like this is one of those books that you curse folks out for interrupting you, lbvvs.

Moriah aka Moe🙄😒. Even tho that ninja came to Dreka's rescue, there was still something about him that just screamed f'boy🤷🏽. The tea that was spilt after his "death"😳. His momma ain't ish either cause that bih and her husband knew all they knew and went along with his f**kery. The way they treated Dreka like she was the one in the wrong, I wanted to eff them up for hear👊🏾😡. I swear that fool momma treated Drama like she was her man side chick instead of her "sons" baby momma. The level of toxicity and hated that came from that lady😔. Her husband was just weak asf, although he called himself helping Dreka on the low, bye was still a sorry excuse for a man, for not having the balls to respectfully check the ish out of his wife😒. OD ol scary wanna be Krucial so motherfudgesicklestix bad, but he ain't even half way there ass ninja. I hated his nothing ass since chapter 1 and it just grew from there. She was dumb asf for staying loyal to him just for clout and even dumber for being ok with him flaunting his side bih Dannica who just so happened to be that same bih who as Essence called her "Krucial cum rag" 😳🤣 around in her face🤡. Danicca was just sad, like her level of self worth was on 0 and I really wanted to shake some since into sis cause she needed to be reminded of her value😔.
Dreka was dealt a bad hand from jump and she did her best to overcome her situation. After that ish went down with Moe she played in her as When it came to Kapri cause that man definitely showed her he was down for her and was willing to do whatever to keep her happy. I would've been let Kapri loose on Moe's ol trifling ass dust bucket ass momma. At times she did lose sight of her ultimate goal, which was regaining custody of her son Cooper. At the same time, my heart went out to her😔
Kapri "Krucial" Hendricks was motherfudgesicklestix man, like that tall fine sexual big🍆chocolate ass ninja😜! From the moment Drama and him met at the has station I was like, he can get it😜🤣. The level of f**ks he gave when he told that ninja Moe "You know I'm gon' take yo bih right? You messed up letting me see her ass, bruh." Then told him "I'll blow ya shit out right here then take ya girl to my crib and have her topping me off by nightfall."😳🤣🤣🤣🤣. Then told her "You gon' be my wife." His disrespectful ass had me turned on😜🤣. One thing about him, he was brutally honest asf. He was dead serious about Dreka too. You could tell that he wanted to do do much more than what he was doing but was trying to allow her to have her independence. I wish he would've bossed up on about getting her a real lawyer like he did about her moving out of that bs apartment OD set her up in🙄. I loved him cause he didn't let the money and hood game go to his head to the point that he had community🍆like His boy Lolly🙄🙄😒. Lea bossing up and leaving that ninja was the best thing she could've done. Ninja be giving🍆to everything with a skirt. All it takes is one and we ain't even gotta give him no😼, yo dude find out he ain't gone be able to take😔.
Iyanna, I had tears in my eyes when that ninja Jalen told her to choose between him our their baby, like WTF🤔😔. Did to pop up MARRIED😳AND YOUR NEW WIFE PREGNANT TOO😡😡😡!!! Then all the other tea started to spill about him but at the same time I saw that ish coming. Like ain't that much basketball and promo trips in the damn world, like Iyanna should've trusted her instinct on that ish. Then cause the neighbors aw her with somebody he kicks her out their house, but he not a whole wife and sure baby. Jalen is a f**king 🤡and I hope Iyanna give him hell like the McCullough did Dreka cause unlike her that fool deserve it and then some, ol trifling community🍆having ass ninja😡.
Kapri was already on one after receiving that info from his PI but when he not that deal from his boy Quay saying his #1 was dead and Dreka was missing😳. They took the wrong ninja bih and he gone paint that town red until he get her back and I am here for it👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. Let's not forget the tea his momma spilled in the and regarding OD😳

Oh my goodness, can we talk about how Queen Shvonne Latrice absolutely slayed with this book?! I mean, seriously, she wrote the heck out of it! This was my first time reading her work and let me tell you, I was not let down. Shout out to the beauty in my book club who recommended it, because they definitely knew what they were talking about! Bravo, Queen Shvonne! 👏👏👏
Moriah, also known as Moe, had a ninja who came to Dreka's rescue, but there was still something about him that seemed like a f'boy. The tea spilled after his "death" was shocking. His mother and her husband were aware of everything and still supported his wrongdoings. They treated Dreka unfairly, making me want to confront them. The way Drama's mother treated her was toxic, as if she was her son's side chick instead of the mother of his child. The level of hatred from that lady was unbearable. Her husband was weak, trying to help Dreka secretly but failing to stand up to his wife. I can't wait for Krucial to confront them.
OD is trying too hard to be intimidating, but he falls short of being a true ninja. My dislike for him started early on and only intensified over time. His partner, Essence, wasn't any better for being with someone like him. IDGAF was never impressive, period. She made a foolish decision to stay with him for attention and was even more foolish for accepting his relationship with his side partner, Dannica, who happened to be the same person.
Kapri "Krucial" Hendricks was the baddest man around, with that sexy chocolate vibe that had everyone drooling! When Drama and him crossed paths at the gas station, I knew he was trouble, but damn, he could definitely get it! His zero f**ks attitude when he claimed Moe's girl as his own was both shocking and hot as hell. The way he confidently declared his intentions had me feeling some type of way, and I couldn't help but be turned on by his boldness. Despite his rough exterior, he was surprisingly honest and caring, especially when it came to Dreka. I just wish he had stepped up more for her, like getting her a proper lawyer instead of just focusing on her living situation. But hey, at least he didn't let the money and street life change him too much, unlike his friend Lolly. Lea was smart to leave him in the end, no girl deserves a man who can't keep it in his pants. One slip-up and he's out, no questions asked!
I was truly saddened to see the situation unfold between Iyanna and Jalen, especially when he put her in such a difficult position. The news about his marriage and expecting a child with someone else was truly shocking and disappointing. It's unfortunate that Iyanna had to go through all of this, but hopefully, she will find the strength to stand up for herself and move forward from this toxic relations

Great Read
There's so much drama going on. After Andreka mother did the unthinkable. Moe stepped in and saved her but she found out that Moe wasn't worth a damn either. After Moe's death. His secrets came out. I'm not mad at Andreka for slapping the hell out of Mrs. McCullough because she was doing too much playing game's with Andreka son. Krucial is so damn rude and disrespectful but he had me laughing. He don't give a damn about nothing but Andreka and his momma. She brings out the good in him. Essence is scandalous. I almost felt bad about how OD dumb ass was doing her . I was glad when Andreka went upside her head. Iyanna was secure in her relationship with Jalen although all the red flag's that was showing her that he was up to no good was in her face. I felt bad for her. Even though Lolly is a trifling mess. I have a feeling she may be good for him. Jory need to let Maissa go. She ain't nothing but a simple minded gold digging leech. The way this ended had my jaw dropping. I hope Andreka is ok and what Krucial learned about Moe left me in shock.

Please don’t leave me hanging like this!! This is one hell of a cliffhanger. Shvonnes way and play on words is Truly a work of art. I can honestly say that I laugh out loud and make all types of weird noises whenever I read one of her books and when I saw this one was released I couldn’t wait immediately stop reading whatever I was reading I don’t even remember anymore because I was trying to hurry and start on this and like always I am just truly amazed. I think Krucial my favorite of all of her characters. I can’t wait for part two to drive I am so impatient at the moment ready to hear not only what goes on with Dreka and Kapri but Taissa, Jory, And especially Iyanna, Lilly And her no good basketball playing baby daddy. Thank you thank you thank you for this good read your books should really be made into some type of short movies short sitcom’s something that we can put on a screen to actually see I will watch it on YouTube

King & Queen of the hood!
I feel like Moe got her and wow his ass isn’t dead. I know something is up with Mrs McCullough. Also OD knows some stuff to. I like this book but the only thing I don’t like is the way Kapri called Cooper little nigga, I don’t like that at all. I hope Iyanna boss up on Jalen ass because he was dead as wrong. Also it’s time for Dreka to boss up on them especially to get her son back. I feel like it’s wrong that she paying for some shit that she didn’t have nothing to do with it. Moe was stupid asf to have shit stash where you laid your head at especially your child. Damn he was married all this time but was coming home to his baby mama. I believe his parents knows Moe is alive and so do his wife Sisi. I’m ready for part 2. I love how Krucial loves Dreka tho and he about to shut the whole city down behind his woman.

OMG!
I loved it! I wasn't looking for the ending with Kapri, and Odie being brothers! I was so shocked , and to think that Moe is still alive and he may also be playing a part in keeping Cooper away from his mom is just trifling. Mrs. McCullough, is being spiteful and doing all that, I can't wait for Andreka to get her son back. Jalen is played poor lil Iyonna to the far left and for him to already have a 3yr old son. I want Iyonna to boss up an just get everything she can once she has the baby, or before she has the baby. Lolly is just a no good for nothing man. I'm glad Lea, left him because he thought he was God's gift to woman. Jory, and Taissa gonna mess around and get caught up in their lil affair, if Maissa don't get caught up first. Krucial, bout to go ape shit crazy if somebody done took Andreka. Waiting for prt2.

That is how I would described this book and more importantly, how I would describe Krucial the Great.
There’s a lot of moving pieces, but as the book progresses it all makes sense.
I’m rooting for Iyana!! I want her to win so bad and I want her to bawse up on Jalen. He need to be crying and sick by the end of this series. Can’t stand men like him.
But she’s laying the ground work to break Lolly, who foolishly thought he was going to break her. Hopefully she teaches him.
Dreka and Krucial= chaos. He was killing everybody, but the right somebody. 😂🤣

I really, really enjoyed this book and I'm currently listening to King & Queen of the Hood Pt 2. This is the perfect read for anyone that loves the urban romance genre. Lots of plot twists and the ending was the ultimate cliffhanger. The only thing I didn't like about the story is that a major thing that happened to Dreka was losing custody of her son. It seemed like the further we got into the story, the less we heard about her going to court or even visiting him. And the fact that the main thing holding her back from getting her son back was her new love interest, I just didn't understand being that pressed to be with somebody that you'd risk losing custody of your child for good. Aside from that, I loved the storyline and characters and I'm looking forward to see how the stories continue to unfold.

This book is pissing me off. Krucial ain't got nothing on Tony Wacko because he would have done got rid of the McCulloughs.
The fact that everyone lied to Andreeka is wild. How could she even continue to socialize with them lames.
I cry at each court seen cause I can't imagine someone taking my child and then taunting me.
The ending has me confused. Oh boy has resurfaced but Essence made it seem like her and her man set him up. So im ready to know how that plays out.
Jaylen is a piece of shit!!! He did Iyanna so dirty. I hope his wife baby ain't his. Talking about he only taking care of the kids he have in his home with his wife. Uggghhhhh!!!!

I just lovvvveee Andreka & Kapri aka “Krucial” relationship in this book!!! Lawdddd they don’t play behind each other!😝🔥‼️ that’s how it’s suppose to be too! I like the other characters as well and how their story unfolded it make the book extra lit! I love the true solid friendship Andreka & Iyanna have!💕💕 all I know it’s Jalen got Iyanna messed all the way up! I’m heated for my girl real bad! I hope Taissa joined and develop a friendship with Andreka & Iyanna she seem like a sweet down to earth young women overall even though what went down between her & Jory had me looking sides ways at both of them two!😩😝..but at the same time what’s one person trash is another person’s treasure! 🤷🏽♀️ this book was too good!!!

The story centers on the coming together of two people who are on opposite sides of the socially acceptable line. The line separating two opposing gangs. The two primary characters -Andreka & Krucial - were both strongwilled. Of course, with a name like Krucial, you know who came out on top between the two whenever an issue arose. I found Krucial's brand of brashness to be surprisingly understanding. Andreka was not weak or simple by any means and was the perfect yin to his yang. If you pay attention to the story instead of bristling at the delivery of some of the dialogue, you'll see the nuggets of morality sprinkled throughout the story.
