Delicious s’mores aren’t the only thing leaving a trail of crumbs behind in this baffling whodunit of the Paramour Bay Mysteries by USA Today Bestselling Author Kennedy Layne… Relaxing massages, chilled mimosas, and hot saunas were all supposed to be a part of a weekend getaway for Raven, her best friend, and her witty familiar. Deciding to make the most of a bad situation, Raven convinces her two tagalongs that campfires and ghost stories would be a fun experience. Things don’t go quite as planned when one of the guests turn up dead! You’ll want to bring along a flashlight, a sleeping bag, and your favorite backpack full of camping supplies to solve this campfire murder mystery!
Kennedy Layne is a USA Today bestselling author. She draws inspiration for her romantic thrillers in part from her not-so-secret second life as a wife of a retired Marine Master Sergeant. He doubles as her critique partner, beta reader, and military consultant. Kennedy also has a deep love for cozy mysteries, thrillers, and basically any book that can keep her guessing until the very end. They live in the Midwest with their menagerie of pets. The loyal dogs and mischievous cats appreciate her writing days as much as she does, usually curled up in front of the fireplace.
Raven Marigold's relaxing spa weekend doesn't turn out quite as expected. Join Raven, her familiar cat Leo and best friend Heidi for a scary adventure. I like how Raven thinks and is so good at figuring out clues. I also like how Leo was somewhat more reasonable in this story. I couldn't believe he agreed to so many suggestions. Fear for your life can do that. LOL! I look forward to the next book in the series.
Campfire Blend (Paramour Bay Book #19) The Paramour Bay Series by Kennedy Layne proved to be full of fun cozy mysteries full of paranormal intrigue, and heartwarming charm. Set in the enchanting seaside town of Paramour Bay, the series follows Raven Marigold, who is a relatable and endearing character who discovers she’s a witch. From the very first book, I was drawn into a world filled with magical mishaps, quirky townsfolk, and a touch of humor that kept the tone light and engaging. Paramour Bay came alive with its quaint shops, mysterious coves, and a community that’s as eccentric as it is lovable. Ms. Layne’s writing style is approachable and immersive, making it so easy for me to lose myself in the pages (in a great way – NOT in a ‘I have no idea of what’s going on’ way 😊). Each book introduces a new mystery, often tied to the supernatural, and the twists are clever without being overly complex - perfect for fans of cozy mysteries. So, whether you’re a fan of paranormal tales, cozy mysteries, or simply looking for a feel-good series to curl up with, Paramour Bay is a magical escape that will leave you smiling. It’s a perfect brew of mystery, magic, and heart. Highly recommended for readers who enjoy a touch of whimsy with their whodunits. Let the Binge Begin. Happy Reading…
A murder was the last thing that was expected in this tale by Kennedy Layne. Relaxing massages, chilled mimosas, and hot saunas were all supposed to be a part of a weekend getaway for Raven, her best friend, and her witty familiar. Instead, they end up with curious fireflies and pesky mosquitos as bunkmates at a rugged camping retreat meant for those seeking to escape from their everyday lives in the rat race. Deciding to make the most of a bad situation, Raven convinces her two tagalongs that campfires and ghost stories would be a fun experience. Things don’t go quite as planned when one of the guests turn up dead! It appears that they have another puzzling mystery to solve, and it just might have something to do with whoever or whatever is hiding in the woods. I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
Back with Raven (a witch) and Mr Leo (her familiar), this time though they've taken a trip with Heidi (Raven's long term friend) to a 'spa' weekend for a much needed break. However, as usual things aren't what they seem!
The 'spa' is a series of huts around a campfire set in the woods, with a natural mud pool and hot stones heated by the sun.
Run by a brother and sister, tension soon arises between them and one of the guests. When another of the guests is killed, everyone suspects everyone else. It's up to Raven to use her skills to find the murderer and get help, that's where Mr Leo comes into his own.
Funny cozy mystery, with the acerbic wit of Mr Leo, a great read!
The very best in the cozy paranormal mystery genre
You can't find a better series in this genre. Thisseries has unique stories in each book with captivating characters and the perfect amount of humor. I'm invested in what will happen with this set of characters and can't predict where the series his headed. I love a good series that keeps me guessing. Leo is my absolute favorite animal character in any series. His dialogue has a subtle humor that works.
I have read all the books in this series and this book did not disappoint. Fun characters and interesting storyline. Did not want to put it down. Leo is hilarious and snarky, gotta love that cat! Can’t wait for the next book in the series.
I loved the setting. I would be upset too! Great story, I loved the characters. I liked seeing them out of their element, although Leo got a little annoying.
