Livvy's power/talent comes from tapping the emotions of those around her. We can all sense the emotions of those around us, at least to some degree, although there are exceptions that are hard to read. This series takes that premise and infuses it with adrenaline! Livvy tries to make the right choices, do the right things--but sometimes it's hard to tell what that is. Trusting is never easy when you've already been burned.
I love that the plot was unpredictable, and the characters (Livvy and Dean) are so relatable. The dialogue and story flows well, and it was very easy to immerse myself in. I'm really looking forward to the third installment!

This was a good read. It takes place shortly after the first one left off. Empaths are being found drained. Of course they are trying to find who did it. The problem is when they do find them they realize they are a very hard person to get. They are too powerful. The ending was crazy and I look forward to seeing how this is all going to play out.
How much power can one heart contain? In the aftermath of her first adventure, Livvy struggles to go back to her normal life. She's changed, and not only from the new and unstable powers running rampant inside her. Even her relationship with Dean is complicated by what their abilities mean to each others, now she literally cannot live without him. Livvy's overwhelmed emotions are making her paranoid. Empaths seem to be everywhere. She feels like she's being followed. Watched. When she learns there is a shadowy villain picking empaths off one by one, who can she trust?
This is the 2nd book of the series and it is wonderful. Picking up right from the end of the first one and it does not disappoint in any way. Wonderful well written plot and story line that keeps you engaged with it from the start. Again the characters are well fleshed out and believeable. I love how the author has written this and the way the characters are also. Recommend reading.

I struggled to get through Emotionally Charged, however did not have that issue with Emotionally Unstable. I found the characters developed a lot more in this book and the story line flowed much better. Introduced more great characters. Lots of unanswered questions around different characters, I’m looking forward to finding out in upcoming books. Livvy is still a typical teenager thinking she knows best even when she’s continually getting herself into trouble. Love Dean and would like to see some chapters done from his POV.
Ahhh ended on a wild cliff hanger which has me reeling and impatient for the next instalment ... definitely a series I think will get better and better with each book.
Character development in this instalment of this short series is solid, and the worldbuilding took the story in leaps and bounds that were very engaging for such a short and sweet novel. The trouble with trilogies in particular is the second book often being not much more than a set-up for the finale, and this book falls in that, but still holds up even just for the development of the central romance. Livvy and Dean's relationship is such a beautiful and honest one that doesn't feel as fantastical and unlikely as many romances, especially in YA, do. They have my entire heart.
"My life had changed so much. My eyes had been opened so wide, I felt like I didn’t know how to exist anymore. Like I couldn't be the person I used to be." - Livvy
After being released from the hospital, Livvy realized how profoundly her outlook on life has changed. The lifestyle she had taken for granted wasn't her right or her due. Her eyes had been opened wide to the injustices in the world, and with her newly awakened empathic powers activated, Livvy is feeling overwhelmed. But with Dean close by, Livvy WILL get everything under control.... Won't she?
But when the ceiling in Livvy's classroom starts to collapse, Livvy springs into action to save her classmates. The police are blaming the incident on the recent earthquake, but Livvy isn't so sure... Being kidnapped wasn't high on Livvy's bucket list; nonetheless, it happened. When she regained consciousness, her world tilted on its axis again. One surprising revelation after another bombard her, leaving Livvy desperate to understand...
"Primals have the ability to turn the very emotions of the community around them into what they need to protect that group.” - Dr. Crossman
The more time Livvy spends with the Crossmans and other empaths learning about her abilities, the more Livvy was left with mixed feelings. Was she doing the right thing? Would she be able to return the stolen powers? How would being an empath affect her going forward? When Ash is attacked and drained, Livvy knows it's become more dangerous than ever. It is imperative that Limbus find and neutralize the "leech" that is attacking other empaths, and it's up to Livvy to stop the leech, if she can...
Riveting! Non stop action from start to finish, with more to come! Can hardly WAIT!
This is the second book in this series, and like the first, the character development is strong. The lead is a likeable young woman and you easily find yourself cheering for her. This book picks up seamlessly from where the first left off, so I really think it is ideal to read them in order. While some of the challenges are a bit far fetched, it was still a quick fun book to enjoy.

Loved this second installment in the Empath Chronicles!! I really enjoyed learning more about the world of empaths and it was also great to continue Livvy and Dean's storylines. This was a page turner and had me hooked from the very beginning. I already have the 3rd one ordered, because I have to know what happens next!!
Another great read in the series and looking forward to the next one. Livvy's self doubt and relationship doubts were a bit overdone, but I guess this book is called Emotionally Unstable, so that makes sense! I enjoyed the exploration of new powers and new characters.
Fantastic read. This is my first foray into the worlds of Selina Fenech and I'm hooked.
I ran out of time to read *Emotionally Charged* before I jumped into Emotionally unstable, so I only had a brief intro to the character of Livvy and so I had no real idea of what to expect. But I was able to pick up a lot of the backstory as I went along. I am a big fan of speculative fiction and the Superhero genre in particular, and I love that Selina has found an interesting spin on the genre; and also found an interesting spin on Empaths.
It's an easy read and would appeal to younger readers, but there's a lot to interest older readers too. As someone that is often ovewhelmed by emotions I found myself relating at times to what Livvy was experiencing, but also found myself relating to Dean and his ability to shut everything off.
I am looking forrward to following Livvy and Dean'ss further adventures.

I was almost scared to start this second book in this Empath series. It got so intense in book 1!!! But I mean an excited kind of scared; what will our superheroine be put through this time?
In this installment we learn more about Livvy’s powers. Livvy is going back to her normal life - but what is normal? Especially when she now has superpowers, is an empath, and has Dean by her side. And she has to learn to deal with everything, including her growing feelings for Dean. But her powers also mean she can’t have her cake, and eat it too. That’s just too much to handle. Being an empath is hard. She needs Dean close to her to block all of those teenage emotions at school. She does love her superpowers, they are thrilling! But then…
A very engaging book. I honestly didn’t know where the story would go, which was a good thing; I was happy to be surprised. The book took me away to a good place, provided an escape into a world full of emotions. Totally recommend!
With an expected cliffhanger ending, this second installment is very suspenseful throughout. I’m quite curious to see where the next book ends up. A lot of the outcome so far, however, has been quite predictable. The story is very easy to follow and get swept away in with the characters. I am in the United States, so some of the slang words used in the story took me a little time to process what it was meaning since it is different here. Otherwise it was a seamless read. I enjoyed it thoroughly. On to book 3!

I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this book. The characters were well developed and likable, the plot moved at a great pace and the story was fun and full of action. I don't often find books that I sit down and read straight through, but I really couldn't put this one down until I was done. I'm really looking forward to the next one!

The next brilliant adventure of Livvy and Dean's empathic story. As the pair try to return to normal, well as normal as they can be with their powers. The soon learn of Limbus and an organization that trains empathise but also that someone is hunting empaths and stealing their powers . Can they find and stop the leech before its too late. Can't wait to read part the of this series
I loved the second book! It was good to read and get a deeper understanding of the different types of empaths and watch the changes in Livvy and Dean’s relationship. I really enjoyed the pace of events and I’m on the edge of my seat for the next book!

Many recent novels are not written well. They are full of errors in grammar. They seem to be made in a speed press just to get as many novels as possible out there, without regard to quality. This novel was a fun read. It was well thought out and will keep you engaged in the series.

If you love empaths you will love this book. Two lovely characters that support each other and will resonate with younger readers and well as young at heart. I would recommend this book for someone looking for characters with a nice twist but still very relatable.

This is the second book in this series. I felt that the characters development was stronger than they were in book one. This was a quick and easy read. The story was easy to follow along with. I read book one over a year and easily jumped into the second book.

I enjoyed the interactions of Livvy and Dean. However, I accidentally saw the ending before I finished the story and I hated it. It put me off reading more by this author.
I've enjoyed the book and its energy from the start to the finish it's a great book. I am loving books of this nature and to find one that can keep my attention is a bonus. Love to read more.
