The gorgeous, exciting man who hangs out next door. Who happens to be younger than me. And in college. And heading to medical school in just a few short months.
It started innocently enough. The occasional run-in. A few chance encounters. An offer to babysit. An offer for…more.
But then it snowballed.
Now, I only know two things for certain. One, for the first time in my entire life, I’m not an afterthought. And two, this will end very, very badly.
My kids. My job. His future. It’s all at risk.
Jesse Hernandez has infiltrated my life, and if I’m not careful, we will all be in tatters when he leaves.

Nothing Feels Better is the third interconnected standalone in the Better Love series by Brit Benson.
This single-parent, opposites attract romance is sassy, sexy, and has a guaranteed HEA.
It is not necessary to read the other books in the Better Love series in order to enjoy Nothing Feels Better.
Brit Benson writes real, relatable romance novels. She likes outspoken, independent heroines, dirty-talking, love-struck heroes, and plots that get you right in the feels.
Brit would almost always rather be reading or writing. When she's not dreaming up her next swoony book boyfriend and fierce book bestie, she's getting lost in someone else's fictional world. When she's not doing that, she's probably marathoning a Netflix series or wandering aimlessly up and down the aisles in Homegoods, sniffing candles and touching things she’ll never buy.
4/5 - I loved this book so much that I went out and bought another book in the series. This book has so much angst! It was one of those books that reminded me of the type of story I would have loved to read in high school. - I’m not someone that usually loves to read books with the single mom trope, but this book was written so well! It felt so realistic and I loved it. - The spice in this book was spicyyyy, but didn’t take over the plot which I loved. Excited to read more of this series.
This book was just what I needed. I already knew it was going to be amazing because of the fantastic ensemble this series has. Nothing Feels Better exceeded my expectations. It was wonderful to be back with these special characters that is the Better Love people. Nothing Feels Better can be read as a stand-alone but I truly recommend you read book 1 and 2 because of the characters and the strong bond they have.
Nothing Feels Better is Jesse’s story. The knitting and jokester but who has so much depth beneath his facade which is his humor. He meets the five year older single mother Jocelyn(Joss) and her two incredible kids June and Jude. It was a beautiful slow burn and building romance between Jesse and Joss. She’s a kickass mother who takes care of everything and has sadly forgotten about herself. Her own wants and needs but there’s reason why. Luckily Jesse comes into her and her kids’ lives and slowly changes everything. Joss has baggage and want to fight her own battles. She went through one heck of a personal development thanks to herself but also to Jesse and his friends. Jesse too has had his struggles and they’ve only made him stronger. It was beautiful to see and feel how important June and Jude were to him. J & J was definitely among many highlights from Nothing Feels Better.
The Better Love series is about this awesome group of people and of course they ALL appear. They are each other’s family. I got the teasing, the funny banter I’ve come to expect but most of all the unconditional love and support. Nothing Feels Better felt like one giant hug. It takes on serious topics and it only made it even more special. It delivered on all accounts. Just wow.
Brit Benson is one of my favorite underrated authors and if you love romance, you need to check out her books!! Once again I'm blown away by her talent to make me feel so many emotions! She got one of my favorite book tropes and smashed it! Let me tell you all the reasons why...
I'll start withn Jesse! He was the reason I had been counting the days and the hours for this book and he did not disappoint!! He was such an interesting secondary character in the previous books, making me laugh and I just knew that he would have been an amazing book boyfriend in his own book. And he definitely was! Not just with our protagonist, but also with her kids! And let's not talk about the steamy scenes!! Get ready to have a fan nearby! Jesse is book boyfriend material and makes you wish he was real instead of fictional and this is the third book boyfriend Brit is giving to us!
Let's continue with the adorable kids, June and Jude or otherwise known as J Squared! Everytime they appeared I had a huge smile on my face. But I also hurt for them. Especially for June. But she's a strong girl and I was just feeling so many emotions throughtout her character development! And captain Meatball made us all swoon and cry and both of them were a reason behind my numerous tears.
And now it's time for me to speak about our wildflower, Joss! Jocelyn was an amazing single mom and her story touched me so deeply. I loved her and all the struggles she had to face. I loved her character , even though her inner demons gave me some heartache, but she was a mother bear through and through and I admired her for that. I loved her relationship with Jesse and her new friends and she's a character to look up to.
All in all, I love how complex these characters were and the way Brit webbed these storylines. Opposites attract, single parent, found family, hot guy who knits, self discovery and adorable kids make this the perfect package deal. If you trust my taste in romance, then you have to read these books! Also, don't forget to download and extended epilogue in the end of the book to make you shed more happy tears for them! I definitely recommend this book and I'll be shouting this from the rooftops until you all read her and fangirl with me!
PS: I'm so excited we are getting more books with characters from the Better Love universe!!
-Single Parent -Opposites Attract -Summer Fling -Small Age Gap -Found Family -Sassy Grandma -Adorable Kids -Emotional Support Pirate (you'll know when you know)
Beta read. My fave of the series yet. This book resonated with me on a level that not many have. I fucking LOVED IT! Full review to follow closer to release! But I will say READ THIS BOOK!! xoxo
Nothing Feels Better was equal parts moving and hilarious, with a hefty dose of steamy. While there were some turns along the way that I was conflicted about (spoiler at the end for this), the positives of this romance and the way the ending made my heart gooey bumped it up to 5 stars. Jesse (H) is the goofy, sweet, fun friend of his group and Jocelyn (h) is the "hot mom" that has moved in next door to a couple of those friends. Both of these characters have significant hidden vulnerabilities and uncertainties with pasts that they've either healed from or are trying to heal. What starts as an attraction leads to an agreed fling and then to deep feelings, but with some deep challenges too. Written in first person narrative, primarily dual POV (the prologue and epilogue are both from h's daughter's POV). No ow drama (someone from H's past does try to cause drama), om drama from h's ex husband who tears her down constantly, neither are virgins - H typically had ONS but no real details given and nothing on page, bc used.
This romance is full of funny scenes, playfulness, and cute kid moments (Jocelyn has two kids from her previous marriage). There are also some major emotional scenes with heavy themes at times (I teared up), but this is not a heavy book. Joss is making an effort to figure herself out, while still being hampered by her ex, and Jesse offers to help her with a list she's made before he goes off to med school at the end of the summer. Steam-wise, I thought there was a good balance between the romantic development (including bonding with the kids) with the steaminess. Jesse is playful, but he's also dominant and he's all about what she wants/needs. It was aching to see the relationships build and waiting for the other shoe to drop knowing there would be some sort of separation because of Jesse's plans. There are also unexpected bumps that I don't want to spoil, but I'll put a list of triggers because there are some.
I haven't read the first two books in this series and while I think it would have enhanced my reading, Jesse and Joss's story does stand alone. There's a great sense of found family throughout because of Jesse's friend group who also become part of Joss and her kids' lives, which is esp wonderful because they have basically no one besides the awful ex. Ultimately these two (plus adorable kids) get their hard-fought HEA and there's a bit of a jump ahead epilogue at the end, with a more extended one available through a link at the back of the book.
Once again B Benson has blown me away with her unique voice, witty writing, and emotional depth of this novel. This is a story that will stick with me for a long time, and that speaks volumes about this author's writing talent. I have been awaiting Jesse's book since Book 1 of the series and he did not disappoint!
Jesse brings all the laughs, dad jokes, and sexual innuendos on the outside, while saving his dirty talk and passion for Joss behind closed doors. This man has one of the biggest hearts of any hero I've read - he wears it loud and proud on his sleeve, and you can't hep but love him. I cheered for him every step of the way, and Joss was exactly the heroine he deserved.
Joss....oh this girl. My heart broke for her. I screamed and cried for her. And I wanted to push her out into the wild like a mama bird with her babies and tell her to "fly". Fly she did, and watching her come into herself as a woman and a single mother was everything. Her connection with Jesse was natural, real and organic, and I loved every second they were together - how he could calm her nerves and give her the confidence she needed, while she gave back to Jesse all the love he deserved. These two were EVERYTHING!!!
There are two little characters in this book that steal several scenes, and the emotion they bring out in both Jesse and Joss are the cherry on top of this novel. I cried tears of joy and heartache with these characters, and their impact on this story is so powerful.
This book will make you laugh out loud, shed some tears, all while fanning yourself from the steam and wanting to run through a field of wildflowers. This book is a must read for all! Well done once again B Benson!!
I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and options are my own.
Let me start off by saying I am not the biggest fan of single parent romances. It’s not really my jam, but I’ll read it every once in a while when I’m looking to change things up. Color me surprised when I instantly get hooked to this book and it takes me on one hell of an emotional roller coaster. Did this book make me cry like a baby? Why yes, yes it did. Hands down this is one of my top reads of the year. Jocelyn and Jesse seriously took me by surprise. I didn’t expect to love both of these characters, so very much, as well as June and Jude. I adored Jocelyn, her strength and determination to not only fight for her children, but also fight for herself was so admirable. And Jesse was so well done. I loved how funny he was, that he loved knitting, and was one hell of a dirty talker. These two had an instant chemistry with one another and I loved to see that connection grow throughout the entire book. I really don’t wanna say too much of anything because I feel like I might give something away just know that this book was absolutely amazing and the last 70% of this book had me in tears. Expect one hell of an emotional journey but an absolutely beautiful and heartfelt book. This book is hands-down my absolute favorite in this series so far and one of my favorite reads of 2022.
“Nothing feels better” is such a heartwarming story. I rarely like single parent or kids in my books, but Britt made me read this story in one sitting.
These characters are full of… everything. Heart, sass, friendship, chemistry.. They’re so reliable and down to earth. My heart hurt so much for some of them and many times I just wanted to punch her ex.
I loved how the author is showing that motherhood is difficult and trying to jungle small kids with their own challenges and aiming for a career herself. Jocelyn is such an amazing woman and mother.
She deserves her own happily ever after and the adventures that come before that. Minus the troubles with the ex, of course.
Jesse is quite the perfect hero in here. He is always offering his help, learning more about life since he met Joss and her children, still being the joker and putting his feelings out on the table.
The four Js are making up for a great fictional family that could easily be a real one.
This series is probably one of my favourite ever and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to read a well thought, reliable and emotional stories with a dash of fire.
With each book in this series, they just keep getting better and better. Brit has a way of pulling me into a story and I never want to come up for air. Joss and Jesse were no different. They captivated and consumed me. I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I raged. My heart went through the ringer right along with Jesse, Joss and J Squared.
I loved that this was not just the journey of Joss and Jesse but of Jesse and J Squared; of Joss finding herself; of June coming out of her shell and blossoming; of Joss finding her family; and sassy grandmas and emotional support pirates. So many amazing story lines all exquisitely woven together. Just amazing.
One of my favorite things about Brit is that she is able to take very real, very hard, very heartbreaking issues and beautifully weave them into a story without being too depressing or heavy. She brings awareness, forces you think without sounding like she is on a soap box. And to me, that is a mark of greatness.
I never wanted this story to end. Bravo. Fucking bravo. Eleventy-three stars.
If you have not read this author before, just grab a book! Her writing style will suck you in, and her ability to get into your head with her words is magic.
There are a lot of emotional layers to this story; you will laugh, experience anger, and tears. As we journey through the growth of the characters. Joss wants to better herself, her daughter coming into her own, and Jesse, watching him put it all together, his mad knitting skills and wit.
I am enjoying this series, and while each book can stand alone, they are much better read in order.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Loving you is my superpower, Classic. Let me be great at it."
What You'll Find: ✔️College Romance ✔️Opposites Attract ✔️Single Parent ✔️'No Strings' Fling ✔️All The Feels ✔️Dual POV
Nothing Feels Better is an absolute gem. Jesse, Joss and J-Squared will absolutely steal your heart in a way that you won't want to put the story down, while simultaneously not wanting it to end!
Jesse is heading to med school in the fall. This charismatic charmer usually plays the field. But that all changes when he meets a 4 year old pirate, and the 'hot mom' next door. Well, next door to his friends that is. Joss is divorced. Single mom to 2 young children. She's trying to figure out who she is after being under her ex's thumb for so long. She's also five years older than Jesse. But when these two decide to explore that initial spark for a no strings summer fling, they get so much more than they bargained for.
I have loved Jesse from the start. I couldn't wait for his story. But those expectations I had for his story? Blown right out of the water. Jesse may be a younger hero than I typically read, but my gosh was he sexy. So well rounded... he was playful, yet mature. But I also loved Joss just as hard. She is such a strong woman and I loved watching her grow. And J-Squared. My gosh those kids will tug on your heart strings.
This story truly has all the feels. There's difficult heart pounding moments. Moments that will make you laugh. Make you feel. And moments that will cue the tears. It's light and fun while also having dark and tough moments as well. But in the end it's a story that will stick with you, because these characters are too fantastic to forget. With cameo's from characters in the last two books, this story is such a found family vibe I absolutely loved. This story was just the right read at the right time for me. This whole review feels like one big excited ramble that makes no sense, so just do me a favor and read it for yourself. Still can't believe this is a debut series. Mind blown. Can't wait to see what's next from this author!
"Now, Classic, we love loud."

Nothing Feels Better is book 3 in Brit Benson’s debut Better Love series. I was so excited to get Jesse’s romance after seeing him as a terrific side character & Brit didn’t disappoint when bringing him and his romance to life. I didn’t expect Jesse to end up with Joss, who is at such a different stage of life & overall has such a different personality from Jesse, but the two of them just work together. Joss’ story is an emotional one and my heart ached for her time & again. Jesse was the exact type of man Joss needed to boost up her self esteem & make her break out of her shell. I also downloaded the free extended epilogue and loved it! So so good & I cannot wait for more!
You can tell that this author is one of us because she has been delivering the most perfectly paced romances in her first 3 books. Book 1 was a sweet taste, book 2 was a delicious treat, and this book is a gourmet experience.
Jesse is a pre-med student who becomes smitten on the slightly older, single mother living next door to his friends. His attraction is instant and their love story is friends-to-lovers perfection. He's a breath of fresh air because sometimes I just want a good man to love hard, and that's exactly what he is and what he does.
Joss is a survivor and I just wanted all the good things for her. She's a single mom with the best kids in the world. Her attraction to Jesse is more reluctant because of her past, but the way the stars align for these two was so damn good.
She needed someone to trust, he needed someone to love. These two were perfect for each other and I LOVED their love story. This author has quickly become a new favorite!
I said this about Better With You but I'll say it again, this felt totally fresh but immediately still connected to the Better Love world, which I adore. Jesse felt like such a fresh character. Sometimes I can find the cinnamon rolls with golden retriever energy a bit cringey and cliche, they're just not always my cup of tea. However Jesse felt so genuine, he wasn't stereotypical, he didn't tick boxes for the sake of ticking boxes and how much I loved him is a credit to Brit's writing ability.
Brit captures so many emotions throughout, especially as a mum (not that I can relate to many of the struggles Joss has, but I imagine I'd feel the exact same in her situation) if I ever find myself in any similar situations to Jocelyn I aspire to be as kick ass and strong as she was.
I adore how much of Brit's personality shines through in her writing, from her pop culture references to her nicknames for Joss's ex husband, every one of these books has enveloped me like a weighted blanket and snuggled me until the last page. If you haven't started this series I can't recommend them highly enough. You don't want to miss these.
Yeeeeesh! Brit has done it again. Mr. Jesse Hernandez is my new favorite book boyfriend - what in the actual hell, THAT MAN. I FLOVED J Squared. If you know me, you know I’m not down with kids, I tolerate them. But what the hell, I’m obsessed with single parents! They just add SO MUCH to a love story. Wowowow. I loved this story. I laughed SO many times. I swore out loud because of deputy dildo (that dudes a dick) and I criiiiiiiied. Real, crocodile tears. (Just ask Brit about the voice message.) bravo, bravo Brit, you write kickass fucking books.
This book...Brit does it again, the enter Better Love Series has been so beautiful. And now I'm not sure who my favorites are....I don't think I can choose. The way that Brit creates these complex characters and tackles heavy topics in such a unique and kind manner makes my heart full.
Check for triggers before diving in.
You are introduced to Jesse, the goofball golden retriever of the friend group but Nothing Feels Better gives you a glimpse into his own demons he is trying to navigate his way through.
Jocelyn has her own demons...and two kiddos that think the world of her. Listening to the audio, Kelli and Noah were both able to bring these kids to life... Jude's little lisp was my favorite. And the way that June was able to open up and build self confidence being surrounded by the best people filled my heart.
Brit can have you laughing one second, melting the next and all of a sudden crying is such a testament to her immense talent! And then you add audio...it's a whole experience.
The audio is Dual POV which means you get to hear Kelli perform almost every character and the same for Noah. These two completely captured the essence of this story. Kelli had me screaming at Patrick, laughing at Jude and Noah had me laughing at Jude, melting over Jesse and crying over Jocelyn...it was an entire experience.
It has taken me longer to come up with the words for this book because it was so good. There were also so many little coincidences that made me connect with this book more than others. Jesse’s book was very much anticipated and it certainly lived up to the expectations I had. Brit’s writing gets better and better with each book and I am so glad to have been following along from the beginning. Nothing Feels Better is book 3 in the Better Love series and while it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend the whole series. Not just because it is amazing, but you get to know all the characters.
BE PREPARED TO FALL IN LOVE WITH JESSE. His fun loving, goofy, jokester personality makes him completely lovable as a person but just wait until you see how hard he loves when in a relationship. A sexy man who knits, is going to be a doctor, and is great with kids, can he get any more irresistible? Jesse develops an undeniable bond with Jocelyn’s kids, especially Jude. Joss can’t believe how quickly they take to Jesse, more so than their own father. Joss and Jesse start off their relationship casually hanging out with the kids but it quickly develops from there. Joss is a strong willed mother who is working hard to go to nursing school and care for her children. Jesse is probably the most unexpected thing to come into her life but they fit so beautifully together. Jesse makes things better for them and supports them in all the ways that were missing from their lives.
Nothing Feels Better is full of sweet and hilarious moments. It is super steamy and includes some butt stuff! I love the strong presence of family and friends throughout the book. The ending almost broke my heart but Brit made sure she put it back together. This book was everything I needed in my life. It is not just the fantastic storyline, but the way Brit writes is so beautiful. Also, READ THE EXTENDED EPILOGUE!
These narrators… wow.. Blow me away! Kelli Tager has already become a top narrator for me after this Better Love series. But Noah Perez was newer to me and he completely became Jesse. Noah brought Jesse to life in the best ways. Both narrators seamlessly were able to take this story from funny, to steamy, to emotional and back again. They were able to capture all qualities of their character and make it an enjoyable listening experience.
Brit has just the perfect balance with her books. They are cute and funny but also deep and so heartwarming.
I adored this book! Jesse and Joselyn were so easy to love and we got to know them each on such a deep level. I loved her kiddos. This single mom romance was perfect!
Favorite Quote: “Jesse, Jocelyn, June, and Jude. We’re all J’s.” Don’t ask me why, this just touched me!
Overall rating 5 ⭐️ 3 🌶️
Tropes: Reverse Age Gap Single Parent Opposites Attract Summer Fling Found Family
I’ve never taken this long to write a review… and I mean that with the utmost respect and love for this book. At first I didn’t know why I was as having such a hard time. I knew yeah, some books are just so full of emotional turmoil that you’re a jumble yourself. This wasn’t quite that. After finishing Nothing Feels Better, I myself had never felt better towards a character’s happily ever after. With this title being the third in a series of standalones it was like I grew with the group while I went through each’s story! I’ve come to find that Brit appears to have a talent for writing the HEA we all need, no matter the situation, as well as the perfect matchup of characters. I rarely connect to both MCs yet for the third time in a row she has exceeded that literary goal for me.
Jesse Hernandez held my heart in the palm of his hand since the start. So when I finally had his book in MY hands I was ALL IN. He’s the joker of the group, consistently building his friends (and strangers) up which lead me to predict that he had a past. A past that left a permanent scar on him to where he shows compassion first and anger second. Man, was I accurate. I broke for him, then raged for him yet ultimately I had nothing but happiness for him because Jesse didn’t let his past ruin his view on life. If anything it intensified his ability to love. An all encompassing kind of love that both him and his heroine Jocelyn undisputedly deserve. Not to mention he is the literal definition of a gentleman in the streets and a freak in the sheets. Seriously. He’s a multifaceted character that checks off every box.
Now Joss. To be honest I didn’t know how I felt about her when I heard she was a single mom. I know, I know. How could I judge a character so quickly? It’s just not a trope I tend to enjoy. Uncanny that Brit made me eat my words when I feel like Jesse would do the same. LOL. Jocelyn is the foundation of a house in a storm. She doesn’t necessarily need a stroke of luck but damn does the universe owe it to her. Joss is incredibly likable. Pretty you quickly want to befriend her with her lowkey snarky sense of humor mixed with a gigantic heart. Her focus is laser beamed on her goals making me wish I had an ounce of her determination. Her reactions are valid feelings and concerns based on her life experiences. There’s no real running from the perfect man that is before her but there is the urge to protect.
Nothing Feels Better is a classic story of redefining what one truly desires from life when at a crossroad. Both Jesse and Jocelyn have the opportunity to seize the love in front of them but at what cost? It’s not just their happiness and path at stake when you have 2 tiny humans involved. This story has many layers that tie together brilliantly. Jesse and Jocelyn’s characters grow together through different levels of strife leading to a believable bond. A bond that will withstand time if you let it. From the meet cute to the give in, to all of the amusing conversations in between Jesse and the kids to the inevitable conflict, every step of the way I fell deeper in love with this family. This wasn’t how I pictured Jesse’s story but now I could never imagine him without Jocelyn, June, Jude and the many new Hernandez’ to come. Because there is no doubt in my mind that Jesse will keep Joss busy for the rest of their lives.
I absolutely adored this book. At first I wasn’t really enjoying it that much and I was struggling to keep reading it, and then I fell in love with it!
This book follows Jesse and Jocelyn. Jesse is a college student finishing up his last year in pre-med. Jocelyn is a single mother to an 8 year old and a 4 year old. Jocelyn, newly divorced, moves in next door to Jesse’s friends. They meet briefly one night when Jesse’s over at a party, then they continue to run into each other a few more times. Soon, Jesse is offering to babysit and offering to help with… more.
I found the book to be a bit difficult to get into at first, but by around 25% of the way in I was hooked. I hate the cover of this book but don’t let it fool you, it is a fantastic read.
I fell head over heels for Jesse, I loved his energy and the personality of his character was so fun to read. He brought humor to an otherwise pretty emotional story. Jesse’s backstory absolutely broke my heart.
At first I didn’t really like Jocelyn’s character, which I think was a part of the reason I struggled to get into it. Her character felt kind of meh to me at first, but I think this was done intentionally. A lot of the story focuses on Jocelyn finding herself and who she is outside of being a mother. I really enjoyed reading about her journey and by the end I loved her character almost as much as I loved Jesse.
I also adored Jude and June! I am a sucker for kids in books, I don’t know why. Especially adorable little kids, which was completely Jude, he was too cute. Seeing Jesse bond with both kids was so cute and I loved the relationship he has with them.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was emotional but came together so perfectly in the end. I haven’t read the other two books in the series but now I can’t wait to go back and read them. Highly recommend giving this book a read!
Seriously after a dedication like that how can you not feel that this is going to be an amazing book?🥹
This book focuses on 28-year-old divorcee Jocelyn Calligaris with June (8) and Jude (4), and 23-year-old pre-med student Jesse Hernandez.
The meeting between them is one of the funniest and cuties there is, Jude known as "Captain Meatball" made an entry into Jesse's life, one that he couldn't get out of his head and his path continues to merge with Jocelyn's so he stops fighting it and decides giving a chance to this summer fling 💞
When I tell you that I smiled non-stop and bit my lip like some high school girl in love every time Jesse called Jocelyn "classic" I really mean it🥰 Jocelyn's kids are just so sweet and funny, Jesse's friends are amazing, Their friendship made me jealous and wanted to be in this group 🫶🏻 Jocelyn's ex... I couldn't stop cursing him🤬
“𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐛𝐨𝐲 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥 𝐚 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭?“
Every woman needs and deserves a man like Jesse🥹❤️🩹 He already bought me by the way he behaved with Jocelyn's children, the way he pushed her to fulfill her list, the amazing nicknames he finds for every person who enters his life... His character is really what you can call a "book-boyfriend material"❤️ And Jocelyn is such a stunning character, she is a mama bear who focuses on her search for her happiness, for her own self, and this journey was beautiful🥹
Such a special, charming, fun, unique, romantic book, the kind that leaves you wanting more. The narrators did such an amazing job, They did a great job with the emotions of the scenes - it was exactly as I imagined and even more! Brit Benson, girly I've got my eye on you! I'll definitely be back for more🫶🏻 You left a mark on my heart sign by your name❤️
4.5 🌟
And a big thank you for Home Cooked Books and Brit Benson for providing me with an ALC in exchange for an honest review!
Brit Benson is fast becoming one of my favorites!! I was So looking forward to Jesse’s story especially after Better With You! He is absolutely hilarious!
You honestly had me at single parent romance… it’s one of my favorite tropes to read. plus the age difference… It’s just an added emotional level for me. And Benson did it brilliantly!
“I want to love you loud. I want everyone to know about it.”
It’s witty, romantic, and add a little spice! 😉 Jesse definitely has sexy down. But seeing him with Jocelyn’s kids and showing his compassionate side is probably my favorite part about it.
Wow 🥹 this book owns my whole heart. It follows Jocelyn and her two kids June and Jude. She just got out of terrible marriage with her ex husband who was a drunk. Then she meets Jesse and he instantly falls for her and her two little ones.
I loved this book so much. It was the sweetest story ever.
Made me teary eyed how openly the kids accepted Jesse into their family
Tropes: Single Parent , a little bit of an age gap ( Jocelyn 28 & Jesse 23)
This was not my jam, I didn’t connect with the characters. Maybe because I haven’t read book 1 & 2.
Jesse & Joss’ story was ok, they both have their issues and grow throughout the story. I saw a lot of reviews stating that they bawled but I didn’t, not a single tear.
What else can I say besides “wow”. With the first two books, I have always been so intrigued by Jesse and wondered who his love interest would be. This story exceeded all expectations - and I knew it was going to be good because the first two were beautiful. But this book - Jesse is swoon worthy.
Joss, a single mother, working hard to support herself so she can get away from her awful ex is such a strong character. Some of the stars of this book are her two kids - June and Jude. The banter between all of the characters is top notch. This story does deal with some heavier topics but is done so beautifully. Brit had me laughing, swooning and crying through this - such an emotional rollercoaster.
This better live series is a comfort read that I will continue to go back to - and listen to. I listened to the audio of this and these narrators brought these characters to life!! 10/10 would recommend!
Don’t let the cover stray you away from reading this. This story between Jocelyn and Jesse was just pure and amazing. I liked the fact that he was the younger one in the relationship but still had a mature sense of thought and feelings and wasn’t whiny. I admire Jocelyn strength and the love she has towards her children. She really deserves it all. Patrick 🤢🤮🤮🤮. Please kill yourself. I highly recommend this to everyone if you love single mom romances.
