Leesa Bow's Velocity is a fast-paced, emotionally charged, steamy, sports romance written in K. Bromberg’s Driven World. They say opposites attract, and Jett Spencer and I couldn’t be more polar if we tried. He plays by the rules— I make my own. He is like an addiction, when his honey eyes stare at me, it’s like a shot of adrenaline fuelling my system. He’s a guy every girl hopes to be their soulmate.
A girl can dream, right?
Only I’m done with the fantasy, and living life on the edge. The problem is he has no idea of my plan. And, I need him to pretend he doesn’t know me. Shouldn’t be a problem since he plays by the rules, right?
Best selling Australian author, Leesa Bow writes alphas with a fierce determination to win, and the women who will push for them to fight harder. Her love of sports romance came from inspiration from her sporty family. Leesa loves nothing more than to curl up with a good book, and a glass of South Australian wine.
I love K. Bromberg’s, The Driven World, there are so many diverse authors and it has been fun to read so many new or relatively new authors to me. Velocity may be a novella but Leesa Bow held me captive throughout with this book.
Jett Spencer and Velocity Gardener couldn’t be more different and yet there is something about them together that seems so right. Velocity is such a dare devil but one who made me smile and she is so driven, even if she goes at everything like a bull at a gate. Whilst Jett is focused on his career as an elite AFL player.
Velocity had her life planned out but sometimes things change. Will her past destroy her chance of a future with Jett?
It was so refreshing to read of both men and women featuring in sport, both AFL and motor racing. But what will make your heart race is the chemistry between Vel and Jett. I loved the back story of Vel’s dad, and the absolute desire of the loved ones around her to protect her.
I loved this book, Leesa never fails to impress me! Highly recommended!
I loved this book. Not only does the male character get portrayed as the good guy which doesn’t happen as often but there is a lot of equality in this book also. Female football and race car driving. It is books like this that really grab my attention and tend to stay with me. It is also a book I will be recommending to my friends and family for these reasons.

Velocity is part of the Driven world and is a fast paced romance about Velocity Gardner daughter of a Formula 1 driver that Tragically lost his life and AFL legend Jett Spencer . This pair heat up the pages from the start this book has a bit of every emotion and is really enjoyable
In a few words Author Leesa Bow can fill your heart and bring tears to your eyes. At least that’s what she did for me, and I’d only just started on the prologue of her latest release, Velocity, in K. Bromberg’s Driven World series. I wasn’t given the secrets to this book all at once, but was instead pulled in, and I was left to guess whether her words led to a heartbreak for a little girl and her mother, or a promise.
I’ve read a few books from this author, and she has a unique writing style where she will gradually trust you with her character’s backstories, almost as if she needs you to love them as much as she does first before we get to know more, and there is also the added personality detail to Velocity giving an extra depth I just admired in her writing. One example coming to mind is her competitiveness in not being able to grab a set of keys off her friend fast enough. You’ll see when you get to that point.
There is fire and chemistry between Velocity and Jett, our gorgeous main characters, that is written so beautifully as to be heated and romantically sexy, and it was hard to believe that their subsequent meeting would become a slower burn, yet it was a testament to the author’s writing talent that neither the momentum of their relationship within the book, nor the book plot itself never suffered for it.
This is because the book relied on the development of Velocity and Jett as much as anything. Individually, they had some introspection that needed undertaking. There was one huge roadblock that prevented them from getting together earlier – themselves.
Ms Bow has successfully melded her passion for AFL (Australian Football League) romances with the Driven World series and created two highly successful pro-athletes who had the best in fire and chemistry, yet had things to sort before love and a teamwork for two could be admitted. The secondary characters in this book certainly rate a mention, and I loved the team building exercises and pep talks that could also be life’s lessons to us readers, should we care to listen.
Definitely a highly recommended book for the Driven World and for sports romance aficionados. 5 Stars 🏁
I love my visits to The Driven World and I have to say Velocity by Leesa Bow is a great addition to this wonderful family. This may be a quick read but this novella still packs a mighty punch as we get to know Velocity and Jett. Velocity Gardener and Jett Spencer are complete opposites, he is a star AFL player and she was meant to follow in her famous fathers F1 driver footsteps but when things don’t go to plan Vel finds her life changing directions and a chance meeting with Jett happens at the perfect moment....... Jett and Vel are complete opposites but as we all know opposites attract and it’s often our hearts that rule our heads. This is romance about soulmates finding each other when they least expected it, its about growing up, it’s about learning to trust and becoming strong together and it’s about taking chances. There is no doubting the sizzling chemistry this couple share but will that be enough or will their differences hinder their love and a future .......guess you need to read the book to find that out. Velocity is a great addition to The Driven World from the very talented Ms Bow and a wonderful insight into the life of a AFL star.
I truly enjoyed every bit of this story from the beginning until the end, especially the way both sports were used to highlight some fantastic life lessons.
Velocity is just like her name, she tackles things at an incredible speed. I really enjoyed her character, I found her to be so caring with such a huge heart, a bit daring, filled with determination and refreshingly honest, especially about herself. Jett is a lot more down to earth than perhaps I thought he might have been and thank goodness for that too. He is a wonderful character, a tad obsessed with some things but understandably so, though. I love how different these two lead characters are yet still have such sizzling chemistry and boy do they burn up the sheets.
This fast paced book is super easy to read with its solid storyline, clear detailed descriptions of the characters and settings as well as invoking all of the emotions as the story evolves.
Once again the racing aspect is strong, however, combined with another professional sport instead of detracting from it, it enhances it—very cleverly crafted by this author.
I totally recommend this book to everyone who enjoys quality entertainment.
I really enjoyed reading Velocity another book in the Driven World stories. Velocity Gardiner is the daughter of the late formula 1 driver Liam Gardiner. A chance meeting has Velocity spending the night with Jett Spencer a AFL player. Velocity does what she knows well, run from any form of commitment. What happens next brings their two pathways together. What she wasn't expecting was to develop feelings for the man. A wonderfully written sports romance highlighting both formula 1 and AFL in both men's and women's division. Highly recommended reading.
This is a perfect addition to this awesome series and is Jett and Velocity’s journey. Jett is an AFL star, who abides to the rules, and Velocity is a dare devil who tackles whatever life throws at her head on. These two may be complete opposites, yet they are perfect together. This is a beautifully written tale which is fast paced, entertaining, and a steamy taking chances romance. I was enthralled throughout this riveting and addictive page turner, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend.
What a great story this was, and not quite what I was expecting. Velocity Gardener is the daughter of a famous F1 driver and as such has all the inherent skills that she was gifted. What she doesn't have is the emotional maturity to cope when things don't quite go her way. After a chance meeting with a top AFL star, her life moves in a different direction. Can she make a future without her past causing her to lose everything she has come to love or will her lack of playing by the rules end in disaster? A unique novel from the Driven world and one that gives a great insight into the lifestyle of top AFL players, both male and female. Highly recommend
So I was lucky enough to get enjoy the world of Velocity in Australia for Valentine's Day and I don't think I could have picked a more perfect book. Vel and Jett have amazing passion, drive, and together chemistry. A perfect story about how your soulmate is the opposite of you and gets you out of your safety bubble.
Another great addition to the Driven Series. This is an Instant attraction and connection and a slow burn romance. This is told in two parts first is Velocity from her hook up with Jett and how she struggles to find herself. Then the second part is told from Jett's POV when he is reunited with Velocity after not seeing her after their hook up months ago. I enjoyed reading this story.
I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.
Another great addition to the KB Worlds, Driven World. It has the romance, drama, and a story that sucks you in. What I love is how different this novel is from the others in this world. Yes there is racing, but Velocity is also a determined woman who goes after and succeeds at what she wants. Jett and Vel couldn’t be more different, yet opposites do attract. Will their differences help or hinder their relationship? You will have to read to find out.
Velocity accelerates into the Driven world with precision and a momentum that has you gripped to the pages. Jett and Vel are as different as night and day but the chemistry and attraction between these two is undeniable. Velocity likes to take risks and doesn’t play by the rules. As plans unravel and a different direction takes hold, their story gives us a journey of growth, trust and soulmates. The heat and the passion between these two has sparks flying and their hearts taking a risk. An entertaining story that intertwines perfectly with the Driven World and AFL. Their story was unique and takes you through a range of emotions with a few unexpected twists that have you captivated right to the very end.
I enjoyed being pulled in to the world of Jett and Vel, the emotions and the thrill. The connection between them is immediate yet their story takes time to build up which pulled me in deeper. We got to know them separately, their lives, their families. My heart twisted for Vel, her life with the racing world and knowing where her place is in the world. These are strong characters, with a strong story.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This was a fantastic addition to Driven World Series. It’s a beautiful opposite attracts love story. Velocity and Jeff couldn’t be more different and opposite of each other. I love when the story has strong female character. Velocity was a dare Devil. She is following her father’s footsteps who was a famous F1 driver. The story was captivating and quite engaging. I have read Leesa’s book previously and enjoyed it and this one was different. It was a quick and fun n enjoyable read .
Absolutely adored this story! I have a bit of a girl crush on Velocity. I love strong willed spitfire girls showing they are just as good as men, and Vel certainly ticks all the boxes. Jett and Velocity have major chemistry right from the get go. I loved how both football and formula one play a massive part in this book and that it’s not all sunshine and rainbows.
Seriously couldn’t put this book down I’ve read it in a day. Cannot recommend it enough. Even if you have never read a book in the Driven World before you will love this! Five stars!
Velocity is a different kind of sports romance, but refreshing and sexy! This is not the storyline I was expecting, but it was a nice change of pace for both main characters to be involved in sports not just the guy. Vel and Jett had insta love. It was explosive right from the start, but then became more of a slow burn. The first half of the book is told from Vel's POV and the second half from Jett. Velocity is everything and more you'd expect from Lessa Bow!!
Oooh, the chemistry between Velocity and Jett was amazing here. I could feel the sparks coming off the pages as I've read. The story flows well and had me sucked in from the very beginning.

Throughly enjoyed this book from The Driven World. Love at first sight for Vel and Jett. Colten's cameo slotted in nicely. Love the way the story flowed.
I’m a huge fan of the Driven Worlds books. I love everything about K. Bromberg’s initial novels, read and loved then happily re read them all.
This is a change on traditional books in this series however. Velocity heads down the author’s familiar sports theme.
Loved the beginning and had hoped it was heading down the same path with the face pace of race cars and F1. I felt a little disappointed when it changed direction into AFL. Insta love sweet HEA. Missing the angst needed to truly hit the mark for me.
