i read this book as part of an arc program. This is another book in the Protect and Serve series. Haley is given a photographic assignment to work her ex boyfriend's wedding and she decides she would rather quit, so she does and decides to go camping. Haley takes her best friend with her to the National Park, but they arrive too late, so the decide to sleep in the truck and head out the next morning. Ryder is a police officer and patroles the park. When he sees the girls sleeping in their truck, he decides to talk to them and tell them to be careful, especially because a young woman disappeared a few years before. Haley is attracted to Ryder, he is older and more mature, but he is in great shape. Ryder feels very protective of Haley and when he learns she is alone in the woods, he decides to find her to be sure she is ok. I liked this book. I liked Ryder, he was a good man and tried to be protective of Haley. I like that she was independent, but she also knew she needed help. Good one.

3.5 Stars for Ryder and Haley
Ryder’s a policeman and Haley’s a photographer. They meet when she comes camping with a girl friend of hers to escape her ex’s wedding that Haley’s been assigned to photograph. Rather than accept the assignment, she decides to get away and do some camping. Haley has read stories about some of the young women who are missing from the campsite but this doesn’t deter her from going. Her friend is frightened when they meet Michael, a man hiking all alone when they start their trek to the lakeside to set up camp. Thinking Michael may be the mysterious man responsible for all the mayhem, Haley’s friend leaves her all alone. Ryder hears that Haley is all alone and goes searching for her. The two have insta-love and hot sexual chemistry as the two hole up in her tent when rains move in and Ryder gets soaked to the bone. I wanted more background on the main characters and more details after their first night together. Decent job at editing but I was hoping for a thick, juicy steak to sink my chops into but got a medium burger instead

Hunky older guy in uniform-check. Curvy girl in possible danger-Check. Add in inclement weather, a tent and chemistry and you have one heck of an instalove romance. I loved everything about this story. Haley is ordered by her boss to go photograph her ex-fiancé's wedding. Haley tells her boss where to stick it, goes home and tells her best friend to pack up and they head to the nearby national park. They get there late, so they get woken up by Officer Ryder. Ryder's protective instincts kick in and he warns the ladies to stay together and be aware at all times. However when he comes back later he finds that the ladies split up and so he goes after Haley. This is where the other three elements come in to play and you will have to read the book to see how things turn out.

Good Quick Short Story! This story made a decent insta-love/lust quick read. Hayley is a visitor to the national park where Ryder works and the story progresses rather quickly.

Another great read. A quick insta love story between an older man and younger female. Good quick story with heat. I am liking all these men in uniform. Off to read Ryan’s story.
