I thoroughly enjoyed many excellent recipes from this one.

I highly recommend giving it a try. I wish there were more photos, but there are quite a few, and the recipes are easy to follow and improvise.

3 of my favorite recipes were the Chicken cacciatore, the Zucchini Bruschetta, and the Green Bean/Mushroom sauté recipe.

4.5 stars rounded up to 5

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Low Carb Yum Simple Keto Meals for Beginners is a great starter book to get into eating a diet the Keto way. I've had some Keto Meals over the past few years but not stuck to it yet due to time, finances and being a full-time working single parent. This book have me lots of new recipe ideas to try out that didn't seem all that time consuming to make. The recipes range from breakfast, meat, fish, vegetarian and deserts.
I enjoyed the introduction to the book which was straight forward and easy to understand compared to more advanced books I have read.
I just wish there had been photographs of each dish within the book not just the odd one per section.

Low Carb Yum Simple Keto Meals for Beginners is a how-to keto guide with recipes by Lisa Marcaurele. Due out 28th Dec 2021 from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt on their Mariner imprint, it's 256 pages and will be available in paperback and ebook formats.

The introduction covers the basics of the keto lifestyle/diet, including a basic primer on ketosis, macronutrients, tips, ingredients, tools, supplies, how-to figure nutritional needs and planning to achieve weight loss.

The following chapters include the recipes arranged roughly by category: breakfast, breads (!!!), appetizers & snacks, soups & salads, side dishes, beef, poultry, pork, seafood, meatless dishes, and desserts. The table of contents lists each recipe by name along with page location.

Ingredient measurements are supplied in American standard measurements only. The prep times, net carbs, servings, and tips and options are listed in well laid out sidebars. The ingredients are listed in a bullet list followed by step by step directions. Special categories (nut-free, paleo friendly, vegetarian, etc) are clearly marked on each recipe. Nutritional information is included in a text box at the end of each recipe and includes: calories, fat, saturated fat, sodium, carbs, fiber, sugar, protein, net carbs, and carbs, protein and fat by percentage weight.

The ingredients will be readily accessible for most readers and can be found at any well stocked grocery store. There are very few exceptions and those can be sourced online or at health food stores (xanthan gum, granular monkfruit sweetener, and a couple others). One thing I noticed is that the recipes tend to be heavy on animal proteins. There *are* vegetarian options, but they're not plentiful. Many of the dishes also seemed a bit high on the calorie count for a book which is ostensibly about keto diet in regards to weight loss.

Four stars. I really like (and use) this cookbook. One codicil, only roughly 20% of the recipes are accompanied by photographs. The dishes and serving suggestions which are pictured are attractive and appropriate, however.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes

I really enjoyed reading and trying the recipes from this cookbook.

What I really liked about this cookbook is that right from the beginning, the author gives a well-detailed and a simply explained definition of what exactly the Keto diet is.
The author also gives a great guide as to how to and what to stock your pantry with when first starting off on the diet.
The recipes were easy to follow, and they all had a picture of what the dish should look like when plated.

As I've said, I've tried a couple of the recipes and they were easy to make, could be prepared within 30 minutes, and were delicious.

I'll definitely be using this cookbook.

Early on reading this cookbook I remembered that this is one of the keto authors who likes to use crushed pork rinds in everything. I have been keto since last fall but I just can't cook with crushed pork rinds, even the ridiculously overpriced "healthy" ones. I lean towards Mediterranean diet kind of keto, or at least clean keto.

There was a lot I did like about this cookbook. There's a whole chapter on breads, there is nutritional info for every recipe with macros (of course), and there are nice color photos of about 1/3 or 1/4 of the recipes (I wish there were more).

That said, the recipes tended to be a little higher in calories than I'd like. I don't count calories but I have had pretty consistent weight loss by aiming for fewer calories than I burn in a day and since I'm quite small (5 feet tall) that's not a lot. Some of these recipes looked great and I'd take one look at the calorie count and realize there would need to be an awful lot of intermittent fasting on any day I ate those ones -- and that's with pretty small portion sizes too. I also was disappointed that the vegetarian chapter had recipes that were higher in carbs than the others, so while I was happy to see that chapter the macros weren't the typical keto macros for a lot of the recipes. For the most part, this book is very heavy on animal protein for those who do keto vegan and vegetarian (I know there are many, as I'm on Facebook groups just for those and there are thousands of members).

I also wish there was less use of keto sweeteners. Even the savory dishes like stir fries used keto sweeteners, which I try to limit. Most of the breakfasts were the American dessert type of breakfasts -- waffles, pancakes, sweet breads, etc. Still, those are the types of recipes that most keto folks are probably going to love. Ultimately it was three stars for me -- liked it but didn't love it.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

I have to say that I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy Keto Diet recipes, but I absolutely do! I have recommended this book to all of my friend that are already lying the Keto lifestyle, or looking to make a change. Great pics and easy to follow!

This cookbook ticks all the boxes:
- clear steps
- prep and cooking time
- true to the title (easy and keto and yum)
- beautiful recipes
- I know I've already said yum, but "delicious" is a category of its own, and it is delicious

This cookbook seemed pretty typical of most keto cookbooks on the market currently. Most of the recipes looked pretty yummy, however, there was not many pictures. The recipes looked fairly easy to make and included nutritional facts, which is always a plus. There was a nice variety, it was organized well, and the beginning had a menu plan with all of the macros already figured out if you followed the plan they detail. Overall, a good cookbook, but the lack of pictures would make me less likely to use it then alternatives with pictures from each recipe.

This is an excellent cookbook with great recipes that I was eager to try. Sometimes keto can sound so simple and boring but there was a really interesting range of items here all with the low carb promise. The recipes are two color, very easy to read/use, and there are plenty of photographs throughout (about one for every three recipes). I especially liked that the portion size was small - for two people. It meant I wasn't wasting a lot and could make my own keto meals but also make the family non-keto meals separately if they desired.

The book breaks down as follows: keto information, breakfast, breads, appetizers and snacks, soups and salads, side dishes, main dishes (beef, poultry, pork, meatless), desserts. There is an index in the back. The introductory section goes over keto diet and how it works, calories, weight loss tips, shopping for small batch cooking, stocking a keto kitchen, food storage, keto friendly sweeteners, tools, and even sample weekly meal plans.

With over 125 recipes, there is a lot to like here. Those with certain intolerances or allergies (e.g., nuts) will always be frustrated with keto since so many bread/breading recipes call for almond flour (as in here as well). But there are more than enough other recipes to make the book well worth the money. Recipes vary from: ricotta pancakes, onion rings, cobb salad, white chicken chili, bacon wrapped brussels sprouts, herbed flat bread, asparagus fries, vegan chili, mixed berry shortcakes, teriyaki chicken, Swedish meatballs, and many, many more.

Each recipe is two color and cleanly laid out. There is the title in red, a note if e.g., vegetarian underneath, and then on the right are: prep time, cook, time, total time, servings. There is a short introductory paragraph and then ingredients in large bolt type. The steps are in paragraph form and not numbered, which is my one complaint about the recipes since it can make it frustrating to follow the paragraphs without the numbering. There are great notes with each recipe which include dietary variations and tips to make it successful. A callout box has nutritional data and serving size: calories, fat, saturated fat, sodium, carbs, fiber, sugar, protein, net carbs, protein fat.

In all, because there are so many recipes to choose from, there are bound to be many favorites to explore. I have enjoyed several of the recipes now and been very satisfied. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

I have to start off by thanking NetGalley and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for the free eArc of this book. As a rabid cookbook lover and weekend recipe tryer I was thrilled to get my hands on a copy of this!

I am, by no means a "beginner" when it comes to keto. I have been doing keto off and on for so long it wasn't even called "keto" then, I just called it "strict phase" 😜 so I have lots of recipes compiled over time.

I am, however, always looking for new keto recipes to mix it up, because I hate eating the same things all the time. (This book has so many amazing recipes in it I am immediately pre-ordering it after I write this review.)

I am always looking for packable snackables for the work day and there were a couple front runners in here for new weekly go-to options. The "Granola Bars" and "Breakfast Cookies" were both delicious, easy to make options that used keto pantry staples, which we love right?!?

Meanwhile Brekkie is my fave meal (at any time of the day) so the "Cinnamon Squares (cereal)" , the "Green Smoothie", and the "Mini Cheese Waffles (Chaffles) are also sure to be hits with me. I will admit, I am already such a sucker for any and all chaffles.

Lastly, since I could list recipes I loved from here all day

I'll say that the "Salt & Vinegar Wings" sound

and the "Coconut Flour Cornbread" and the "Pan-Fried Radishes and Cabbage" are about to have to duke it out for my heart.

There is literally something in here for everyone and even if you don't follow a low carb lifestyle a lot of these recipes would still be a hit with you I'm sure!

Please know I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Second I just wanted to stress that I am not a cook, chef, or in any way, shape or form should be left alone in the kitchen. Now, that might seem weird to you; however, I figured since this was a book for beginners, I could give it a whirl and see how 'beginner' it was. It turns out the recipes were pretty easy to make, and I never once feared for my kitchen or home.

Pros: I really enjoyed how easy and minimum the ingredients were. Most of them were easy to get at my local store versus buying ingredients from amazon or tracking things down.
Again as a new cook or rather a bad cook, it is sometimes hard to try out a recipe with tons of ingredients or a lot of steps. I did not run into that problem with this book, and I appreciated it.

I also want to say I only tried three of the recipes (so far), and the three I tried were easy and tasted pretty good. I was actually willing to make it again and maybe become brave enough to share it with friends.

The first recipe I tried was the Breakfast Cookies: which ended up being dairy-free and vegetarian, which was a nice change. These cookies were super easy to make and tasted pretty good. It was a nice break from eggs for breakfast which is what a lot of keto recipes I have found. I had all the ingredients and only had to order pumpkin seeds (which I will admit that I did not use). The thing about these cookies was the heartiness of them (if that is even a word). I ate 2 for breakfast and felt full until lunchtime, which was nice.

The second recipe I tried was Chicken Marsala, now this one had more ingredients, and I had to order something I didn't have like Marsala or xanthan gum... Needless to say, it turned out okay, but it was stressful for a new cook to make, and in hindsight, I should have waited for a little before tackling this one. However, it still turned out edible, and I think with more practice, I will be able to NAIL IT.

Cons:
The only con that I saw with this book is the e-format with recipe books, in general, are tricky. This one was hard because the pictures did not always line up. And it was hard to find a recipe after I had moved on to a different one.

All of that being said, I would recommend this cookbook for both beginners and excellent cooks. I liked the simplicity of it and how the recipes flowed, and the basic ingredients involved. Definitely going to check out other cookbooks by this author.

Food blogger Lisa MarcAurele has created a cookbook of simple, low-carb recipes using accessible ingredients. The book starts with a brief explanation of the ketogenic diet and tips on topics such as weight loss, stocking your pantry, and food storage. She also includes two sample weekly food plans. The rest of the book consists of over 125 low-carb recipes in categories such as breakfast, breads, soups, sides, and main dishes.

If you’re not used to eating a gluten-free or low-carb diet, you may need to purchase a few basics, such as almond flour, flax seed meal, and monk fruit sweetener, but these shouldn’t be too hard to find. Most of these recipes could be made with ingredients I already had on hand.

The recipes are clearly written with helpful notes and include number of servings, prep and cook time, and basic nutrition information (very helpful for those of us who have to count carbs). Many of the recipes are designed for 2 servings, which I found convenient.

I’ve tried quite a few of the recipes, with mostly good results. The Quick Blueberry Muffins had an unusual texture, but made a quick and relatively tasty treat. The Korean Beef was a little too sweet for me as written, but so easy to make. I look forward to making it again with just a little less sweetener and more spice. The Chicken Marsala was simple and delicious. The Filipino Pancit was wonderful. The Sautéed Green Beans & Mushrooms were very good, and the Braised Brussels Sprouts are one of our new favorites.

This cookbook offers helpful guidance for those who are new to the keto diet or just need some new ideas for low-carb recipes. With the nutrition info provided, this could also be a good choice for diabetics.

I was provided an ARC through NetGalley that I volunteered to review.

This cookbook is titled for "beginners" and I believe that it would be a very good choice for the reader that is looking for a simple and straightforward cookbook.

The beginning part of the book includes a "getting started" section that covers helpful topics such as: how the keto diet works, ingredients that are frequently used, kitchen tools worthy of having for ease of preparation, and 14 days worth of sample menus....using recipes from the book. I prefer for menus to have coordinating page numbers for the featured recipes, but this does not include that, unfortunately.

Then the remaining chapters in the book are packed with recipes in typical sections of the different types of proteins, sides, breads, appetizers/snacks, and even desserts. I found many recipes that I would like to try.

I'm very particular about how recipes are formatted and this author did an excellent job of making the recipes easy to follow with ingredients listed in order of use in the dish, directions that have just the right amount of information, notes that may be needed for substitutions or something that may be helpful, and nutritional information. Basically everything the cook needs to know, but put in a way that enhances your success in precisely the way a cookbook should be put together.

I can easily recommend Simple Keto Meals for Beginners if you are looking for a book to dip your toe in the keto lifestyle and want a nice selection of well thought out recipes to get you started. I received an advanced copy from NetGalley, all opinions are mine alone.

In the past, I've shied away from the topic of following a Keto diet, even though my doctor advised me a few years ago to try to cut back on the carbs wherever possible. She knows darn well that I don't have a sweet tooth - I have a starch tooth!

But recently, a good friend has been losing a remarkable amount of weight and regaining her health on a Keto diet. And so I decided to take a look at this cookbook. Low Carb Yum is clear and easy to read, and really does educate beginners like me. I finally understand exactly how this method works, thanks to the perfectly titled chapter "The Keto Diet & How It Works". It's the clearest explanation I've yet seen.

Author Lisa MarcAurele spends a good deal of time making sure we understand how to manage a Keto diet, how to stock our kitchens, and even how often to eat. By the time I got to the actual recipes, I felt confident and interested in what sort of Keto meals I could start experimenting with. I advise anyone interested in Keto dieting to read the beginning chapters carefully - don't just jump directly to the recipes! Trust me on this one.

My thanks to author Lisa MarcAurele, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and NetGalley for allowing me to read a digital advance review copy of this book. This review is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Overall, didn’t think this recipe guide had very many unique dishes that make this all that much different from other keto cookbooks or recipes you can find on the web. It seems like a lot of the recipes attempt to re-create higher carb meals or dishes to fit a keto lifestyle, but the author tends to make a lot of grainy “bread” using almond flour, uses plenty of keto sweeteners even in savory dishes, and tends to lean on xanthan gum or glucomannan as thickeners. Not that there is anything wrong with this approach, per se. But for me, while I do find success in using those thickeners, I prefer to make keto meals that don’t seem to be a poor imitation of the “real” thing by using almond flour or monk fruit and erythritol to approximate those recipes — I generally like to make unique things that don’t have higher-carb standard versions already. And I generally avoid things like cookies even if they are made of keto ingredients like almond flour, because I find they don’t help me avoid cravings for cookies and sweets later on. Not a terrible cookbook, but not what I had hoped. That said, I hadn’t considered a couple of the recipes before and will think of them now — for example, the shrimp bisque sounds excellent and I suppose I could adapt it to other shellfish like crab or lobster as well. Overall, giving this 3 stars.

I should preface this by saying that I am not Keto. Not only that, since I don’t have a gallbladder, I would probably die if I went Keto. Hat being said, my best friend is Keto and comes over constantly because I love to entertain so I really loved this cookbook. The recipes actually sound DELICIOUS and I will definitely be trying some too (from the comfort of my own home, of course). I thought using pork rinds instead of bread crumbs is GENIUS and I also intend to incorporate radishes instead of potatoes into my next recipe since I adore them. These are just two flashes of utter brilliance I can’t wait to claim credit for… I mean… enjoy sharing with my BFF. The meal plans and chapter on how to keep a keto pantry stocked are super helpful (I can definitely use help knowing what kind of ingredients I should always keep on hand for impromptu brunch days) and I really love the wide range of recipes this covers. Because some days you feel like coffee and cookies, and some days you need something far more substantial. The big colorful pictures are also great, really makes everything look yummy, though like every cookbook, I wish there was a picture of EVERYTHING so I could make sure I am doing it right.

I received an ARC, but my opinions are all mine.

I have been Keto curious for a while now. I get the basic premise but this book does a really nice job of spelling it out as well as giving some basic cooking information for those who also may be new to cooking as well. This is followed by many recipes for everything from breakfast to desert. Each recipe includes two things I look for in any cookbook: the time it takes to make the meal and the nutritional information. Also included are specific notes for each recipe since you may be using ingredients or methods that you're not familiar. Unfortunately there are not photos to accompany each recipe, but the photos that are there are gorgeous. Oddly, something I didn't know I look for but I did notice it was missing is having the steps numbered. When I'm moving back and forth to a recipe I often lose my place and numbered steps are nice.

All in all I think this is a really nicely done cookbook with plenty of recipes that have peaked my interest. I will be getting a final copy of this when it comes out and give them a try. Thank you to Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and #NetGalley for allowing me to review this advanced copy of #LowCarbYumSimpleKetoMealsforBeginners

I received this digital arc edition in exchange for an honest review on Netgalley. I enjoyed this Keto recipe book so much. I loved how the author went into detail giving a very easily understood definition of the keto process. The recipes are very simple and easy, but delicious! I found several that will be everyday keepers for my keto recipe collection. I also liked that every recipe included the nutritional information. That is so helpful when keeping track of your daily macros. Also included in the book are lists of things you shouldn't keep in your kitchen so you don't have unnecessary food temptations as well as things that are considered keto items. She explains the different keto approved sweeteners, different drinks, low carb vs higher carb veggies and fruits as well as the different cuts of meats that are more fattier. All in all I loved this book and gave it a 5 star review. I would definitely like to have this added to my Keto cookbook shelf!

Eating healthier is a goal I strive to meet daily, so I decided to start watching the amount of carbs I consume. I needed some inspiration for meals and headed to the cookbook section of the library where I found tons of options. I love cookbooks with easy recipes and photographs. The Low Carb Yum books caught my eye.

Lisa MarcAurele created easy to prepare, low carb recipes that satisfy your hunger. Each recipe features prep time, cook time and serving size. The recipes also contain nutritional data so you can easily track your daily carbs. The cookbooks have every meal covered from breakfast to dessert.

I made the cheeseburger casserole and it was a hit. I also love the different dressing recipes to jazz up my salads. The wide array of different cuisines covered in the books makes meal time fun for me again. If you are looking for new recipe ideas, check out the cookbook section in your local library branch.

Low Carb Yum cookbooks are available at your library in print and on cloudLibrary in eBook format. Happy Reading!

What a great book! The title is so appropriate! Lisa MarcAurele did an excellent job explaining what Keto is, how to find your macros, how to understand the ingredients, and how to plan your plate and menu. I feel that I finally understand the ketogenic diet. She also gave us a few menu ideas to get started until we are more comfortable with the principles.

Although I am not planning on starting a strict keto diet, I am changing my habits and preparing lower carb meals - this book is so inspiring! There are fantastic recipes for every meal you can think of - from breakfast to dessert,+; from meatatarians to vegetarians. The steps are easy to follow, the pictures are stunning, and the ingredients are accessible. I’ll be getting a hard copy of this book and adding many recipes to my repertoire!

The author also has an amazing website; I just bookmarked it!

I received Low Carb Yum Simple Keto Meals for Beginners as part of a NetGalley giveaway.

Low Carb Yum Simple Keto Meals for Beginners serves as not only a cookbook but an introduction to the keto diet, including meal plans, terminology, and other useful baseline information. I'm not going to lie, the title is really dumb and put me off almost immediately. I guess you have to distinguish yourself from the scads of other keto cookbooks out there, but just listing a long string of buzzwords isn't the greatest formation for a title (Why do you have to specify "yum?" I would hope "yum" would be implied.). The recipes seem fine, but the baked goods in particular do usually contain at least one ingredient that isn't in the average person's pantry (coconut flour, xanthan gum, monk fruit sweetener, etc.). The book hits its stride in the entrees section(s), when recipes can be crafted with more accessible ingredients, and features a wide range of options from fish to beef to meatless. If you can look past the goofy title, there's a lot to like here.

Interested in learning the how and why of a Keto diet but you don’t know how to begin? The Low Carb Yum Simple Keto Meals for Beginners cookbook is for you.

Lisa MarcAurele has followed this diet for years to control her thyroid problems. She uses her experience to share the equipment you’ll need to begin the diet, unusual items (xanthan gum, flax meal, etc.) you may need, and a one week, three meals a day diet plan. Then come the recipes. Organized traditionally by meal, they also list the prep and cook times and the category of the meal: Paleo, Vegetarian, Dairy, Gluten and Nut free. The recipes are easy to prepare and delicious. Who wouldn’t want to start the day with a tasty Breakfast Cookie? Or Cinnamon Squares cereal? My favorites are the soups and stews and the chicken dishes.

Low Carb Yum Simple Keto Meals for Beginners will make a Keto diet easy for both the beginning cook and a more experienced one. 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Mariner Books and Lisa MarcAurele for this ARC.

What a cookbook!! In addition to recipes the book is chock full of introductory, easy-to-understand keto basics, a short meal plan, and even a shopping list for often-used ingredients. The recipes are in categories for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and more. It is very helpful that the nutrition facts and calorie count are included with each recipe, making one's tracking that much easier. Another very helpful inclusion is the time necessary to prepare each recipe. The recipes are also labeled for quick identification of special needs such as nut-free, dairy-free, vegan and more. Many of the recipes are perfect for those cooking for only two persons. I find the recipes easy to follow and many are accompanied by pictures. I have tried many of the recipes and already have a couple of favorites.....the pan-fried radishes and the BLT dip! Thank you to author Lisa MarcAurele, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and NetGalley for providing me a digital ARC of this cookbook.

I chose to review this book, because I wanted to see if there was any new information given in regards to the Keto Diet, and also to see if I could find any new recipes to try.
The book starts out going through what Keto is, and the science behind it. Then, it discusses the equipment and supplies that you need to be successful with the recipes. Then, appropriately so, they go through multiple recipes that are low carb and Keto friendly. The recipes are broken down into sections to make the type of food you want to make easy to find. Overall, the cookbook author is successful in making a Keto cookbook with unique recipes, but also not too advanced for an "everyday cook."
The issue I had was that since it was an ebook, the section in the recipes for the the "Directions" was not in order, so the recipes got confusing. Other then that I think the recipes and information are perfect for someone new to Keto.

You will be saying Low Carb Yum after looking through this keto (and sometimes also paleo and vegan) cookbook.

There are more than 125 recipes for all manner of meals included. All recipes are for one or two servings. They are easy to make and take around 30 minutes or less to make.

There are twelve recipes for breakfast food alone. I made the Mini Ham & Broccoli Frittatas, which were delicious. The desserts include Fudgy Brownies and Carrot Mug Cakes, which both sound very Low Carb Yum. There are also chapters for main and side dishes, soups and salads, as well as appetizers. The book also includes twelve recipes for breads including a chaffle and tortillas.

If you follow a keto diet, Low Carb Yum is an excellent cookbook full of easy to prepare recipes. My only complaint is that I wish every recipe had a picture. 4 stars!

Thanks to Houghton Miffin Harcourt and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

Wow love the cover! I love looking at gorgeous recipes and this one had many favorites included....making it a great beginner keto book!

What did I like? I’ve recently become a huge fan of zucchini and this book adds it to some really great recipes in several forms. From the bruschetta to the noodles you will find some easy but great recipes! Plus all the beginner keto basics.

Would I recommend or buy? I’d love a copy and enjoy a ton of these meals so I would definitely recommend! Love the cover, and everything in between! Great beginner keto book! Five stars! Love the recipe pictures too!

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review!

Love, love, love that the recipes are both for beginners and for 2! It is so hard to find recipes that are for smaller families. My husband and I are Keto-newbies and this book was a lifesaver for quick, easy, budget friendly meals! She also gives a brief explanation on how keto works and how to stock your kitchen which was super helpful. The categories are broken down simply, making it easy to find what recipe you may be looking for. The only thing I didn't like was using my kindle - so I guess I'll just have to buy a copy of my own!

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to review this splendid cookbook!

Being new to Keto, I found this book to be very easy to follow. There are several categories of delicious recipes including Breakfast, Breads, Appetizers & Snacks, Soups & Salads, Side dishes, Main dishes (beef, poultry, pork, seafood, meatless), and Desserts. The recipes were tasty and are not overly complicated. Each recipe includes nutritional information including macros. The book even includes a 14 day meal plan using the recipes in the book. There are a few pictures of some of the recipes; I wish there were more pictures. Overall, it was a good recipe book for those new to Keto, like myself.

I received an ARC in turn for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of Low Carb Yum: Simple Keto Meals for Beginners.

Yah:
-Simple, clearly written directions and easy to find nutritional facts
-Lots of beautiful photos
-Wide variety of recipes with easy to find ingredients, including many vegetarian options
-meal plans included
-labeled with vegan, dairy free, nut free, etc.

Meh:
-Many of the meal plans provided go over 20 carbs a day
-I wish the photos were labeled, as it’s often not easy to figure out which belongs to which recipe

This books if full of easy, yummy looking recipes with options for everyone!

What an awesome book! The author did an excellent job explaining what Keto is, how to find your macros, how to understand the ingredients, and how to plan your plate and menu.
It gave me a better Keto understanding. She also gave us a few menu ideas to get started which was helpful and comprehensive.
As well as recipes the book is full of introductory, easy-to-understand keto basics, a short meal plan, and even a shopping list for often-used ingredients. The recipes are in categories for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and more. It is very helpful that the nutrition and calories are included with each recipe.
Thanks Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a fair review.
