Not entirely sure why I enjoy reading this slice-of-life story about an OP protagonist who works more on product development in a fairly optimistic wholesome world then fighting monsters, but I do. It is slow-paced though, very slow paced, not an issue for me (yet), but then again, you really should not be expecting action packed story this far in the series.

As for the slavery aspect, it is more indentured servitude then slavery, but it is depicted relatively positively. I am not entirely sure why this rather optimistic depiction of people/slavery is a thing in these kind of light novels, and personally I can ignore it, but it is something to keep in mind when reading the story. At times it is also a bit confusion what is thought, what is said or what is thought and then said. Not sure whether it is a translation issue, but it was confusing at times...

So, an enjoyable quick read, but nothing thought provoking or something that kept me spell bound.

Another pleasing and slow entry in the series. There just seems to be something calming about the slice of life genre, and this series in particular has a good blend of mundane mixed with just the right amount of intrigue and excitement. Ryoma once again never fails to impress with his level of maturity and level-headedness, and it's refreshing to see that he is not being portrayed as all cute and innocent.

Ryoma goes to a new city!

This book is quite nostalgic.

I think what added depth into the story from this book in the series is Ryoma's heartfelt and deep conversations with his guardians. They got to learn about him more and understood him better than before and from those numerous talks over food and tea, they got to learn some more of Ryoma's plans, his past, and just his state of mind most of the time.

It's nice to see him being surrounded by supportive people who aren't hesitant on stopping him whenever they feel like he's deviating too much from what is considered common. And not just stopping him too, rather, they tell him what he needs to know instead of just coddling him.

As for story progression, I don't think the story has moved much. The most that it has moved is probably I'm excited to know some more of Ryoma's supposed past and also of what's going to happen in the future!

For once, the extra story isn't sad. This time, it's tense. I wonder what's going to happen next.

I'm excited for the next book!

Another adventure with the slimes haha... and also lots of things to be done because planning of the wedding of Hudges and his woman. And Ryoma with his smiles also continuing making some new products and also medicines. New slime appeared too. And also because there too much for him to handle, he decided to get a worker that can be trusted. Loving the people around him who really cared for him and make sure that he will not overwork himself also and also endanger himself as he is also a 11 year old but in reality he is not exactly 11 year old. He is in late 30s.

You can purchase this on Amazon and it is available on Everand.

IT'S A NON-ENDING!!

Holy crap, is it so hard to provide an ending? I'm not speaking about a good ending, I'm not even speaking about cliffhangers and bad endings. Literally all of those are considered "endings" whether you like them or not. This book has a NON-ENDING! It just halts! And it has the gal to add a side-story and an afterword. HOLY CRAP! It has the gal to charge you money! It does NOT have an ending! These things usually come from web novels but Jesus fucking Christ! Edit it to have an ending or just stop at a good stopping point. What a piece of shit.

I love these books! I'm addicted, but this whole book was actually ruined for me with one simple scene. Cheating makes me extremely uncomfortable, I avoid books with it if I can, and even though she knew so it isn't technically cheating, did we really have to include Hughes going to a brothel THE DAY BEFORE his wedding? And his fiance is just fine with it because "She'll be his last" or some garbage? Like WHAT!?!?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING!?!?!? Strip clubs are bad enough but at least that's just looking!! No DAMN way!!!! It's enough for me to knock 3 stars off Vol 7.

While I absolutely love this series, this book was harder for me to get through. There's not as much action compared to others and there is definitely a lot more reading between the lines when dealing with some of the characters. This is the first book in the series that didn't interest me as much as the other volumes do. Although I will say we do get to see the Duke and his family (without Reinbach, Sebas, and Elia) and there are even more characters now. This book was ok, nor my favorite but not terrible.

It's the character development so slow and steady that even the reader might not notice, until a character that the protagonist hasn't seen for ages tells him they're surprised how much he's changed.

It's asking for help from people you've grown to trust, where before you'd shoulder everything on your own. It's becoming active rather than passive, and having goals and ideas to be active about.

Sadly marked down a star because this volume also introduced the tired old "fantasy slavery" trope and the protagonist is now a slave owner

A great continuation of a slice to life story

The characters continue to be developed in the world and more explored I like the interaction of.. I just wish there was a little bit of romance for the main character as he is 12 years old and I would like to know what's happening to the Duke's daughter that', what she's doing in school. I for one can't wait for the next book to come out we'll get it as soon as it does.

The new character Ox is interesting! I wonder how that will be impacted by the upcoming gladiator arena in town?

Also, Orest’s words about Ryoma needing an equal was quite insightful.

Things might get dangerous for Ryoma if he develops his serums and antidotes through his slimes. I’m interested to see how that might develop.

The Japanese man who changed the nature of the slave trade also sounded interesting.

One thing most isekai Japanese novels have in common, which is something I really hate, is when the main character goes and offer others business ideas that can make them richness beyond imagination. I just don't get it, why not keep the idea to yourself till you have time to act upon such ideas😑

Ryoma Takebayashi's slice-of-life adventure continues in the seventh volume of By The Grace Of The Gods. Ryoma visits the Duke's Estate, which bears a passing resemblance to a famous magical kingdom. The author is skirting around using Disneyland, but I am not sure. I know a bit about how Japan is with copyright.

While in the town, we find that Hughes is getting married, and Ryoma volunteers to aid them in the preparations. Along the way, we meet another person, Orest Moulton, the Slave Trader. Mr. Moulton has some unusual tendencies amongst people, but he isn't a terrible person.

Ryoma buys a slave and comes up with a method to compensate for his lack of left hand. Furthermore, Ryoma also comes up with slime-related products and services. The book ends on a cliffhanger: can Ryoma drain a small pond and rid it of a foul-smelling plant? I'm betting the answer is yes, but I can be wrong.

On another note, Ryoma finally uses the backstory the gods developed for him.

I enjoyed the book. Thanks for reading my review, and see you next time.

This is just an enjoyable series for me overall. I love the characters and the slice of life feel with the little bit of adventure mixed in. The MC is a helpful character and sometimes finds himself overextended as a result, which we see some of in this book. Because he isn’t from this world the way he thinks about and interacts with the slimes is very different leading him to make all kinds of new discoveries and innovations. He builds strong relationships and we regularly see him connecting with people from previous books. This book definitely has the feel of an intermission and I will be excited to see what comes next.
