Shielded.

That’s what Sydney Ryan has done with the secrets of her past. Never wanting anyone to know the truth, Sydney has kept everything bottled inside.

And they’re out for revenge.

Vaughn Archer knows there’s more to Sydney’s need for defensive and tactical training than just plain curiosity. He can hear the desperation in her voice and see the fear in her eyes. Eyes he’d risk his life to protect.

Working with a man as irresistible and charming as Vaughn, Sydney soon finds herself falling for him.

But when vengeance comes knocking, she wonders if remaining a silent target was a wise idea. Maybe some secrets are better off revealed at the start. Because now, Sydney may never get the chance to tell Vaughn the truth.

A.K. Evans is a contemporary romance author of over twenty published novels. While she enjoys writing a good romantic suspense novel, Andrea’s favorite books to write have been her extreme sports romances. That might have something to do with the fact that she, along with her husband and two sons, can’t get enough of extreme sports.

Before becoming a writer, Andrea did a brief stint in the insurance and financial services industry and managed her husband’s performance automotive business. That love of extreme sports? She used to drive race cars!

When Andrea isn’t writing, she can be found homeschooling her two sons, doing yoga, snowboarding, reading, or traveling with her family. She and her husband are currently taking road trips throughout the country to visit all 50 states with their boys.

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the third book in the Archer Tactical series. I have read and reviewed the first two books in this series before reading this book, and even though I really enjoyed the first books in this series I do feel this book can be read as a standalone. In this book we get the romance of Vaughn Archer. I did not love the beginning of this book, and I found it hard to get into the book in the beginning. I started to really love this book when Archer Tactical was brought into this book. That is also around the time the action/suspense starts, and a little after that the romance begins. The romance in this book is very slow moving, but that did not bother me at all. Out of all the Archer brothers I have to say Vaughn is not my favorite, but I did enjoy his character. I love that he is not afraid to show his emotions, and there are several parts in this book that he cries. I loved when a strong manly man cries. I did not love Sydney's character, but her character did grow on me. The ending did not have a lot of action or suspense, but I would say it was full of strong emotions and feelings. I read this book via Kindle Unlimited/Library and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book.

Silent Target is the third book and last book in the Archer Tactical series by author A.K. Evans. It’s an instalove romantic suspense that has Vaughn meeting Sydney, a girl on the run. In an attempt to make extra money to alleviate medical debt, Sydney made some questionable decisions resulting in her having to run for her life. When she ends up waitressing in Poppy Valley, she meets Vaughn , who feels an immediate pull with the mysterious girl. It can be read as a standalone, but best read after the first two books in the series.

Silent Target is a great romantic suspense for folks who enjoy a particular type of read. It definitely had tons of twists and turns. While well written, it’s not really the kind of book that I enjoy reading. I found the instalust, especially on Vaughn’s side, to be way over the top for me and I usually enjoy that kind fo trope. The heroine was very helpless and overemotional, but unwilling to ask for help - again not my thing, but definitely would be enjoyable for some folks. The chemistry was definitely there and the smexy times were super hot. I still give it four stars because I definitely think folks will enjoy it, it just wasn’t for me.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: Instalust
Angst: 😰
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥
Triggers: none

4 Star Review Silent Target (Archer Tactical #3) by A.K.Evans

Silent Target is the third book on the latest series from A.K. Evans and was an entertaining read. This is Vaughn Archer and Sydney Ryan’s story and I soon became invested in the story the author wove.

The story was well written and the writing strong with characters who were easy to relate too. Sydney is desperate to keep her past to herself but unfortunately there is someone out there who knows and they are determined to seek revenge. Vaughn is drawn to Sydney and he sees beneath the exterior she allows people see and is intrigued.

As their relationship blossoms, Sydney remains silent about her past and doesn't let Vaughn in on the secrets she holds. However, as danger rears it’s head Vaughn will be left struggling as to how to help as he is going in blind. It will be up to Sydney and Vaughn to fight with everything they have for their future.

I really liked both Vaughn and Sydney, they make a great couple and I look forward to reading more in the stories.

The last book of this series and it went too quick.

Sydney has made some bad decisions, but the bills needed to be paid. Those decisions have consequences, and she needs to get away from the east coast. With a blind finger on the map, she ends up in Poppy Valley, CA. The need to learn to protect herself lands her at Archer Tactical and in the path of Vaughn Archer.

Vaughn is the middle brother and a little jealous of what his brothers and sister have, their person. He is immediately taken with Sidney, and she turns him down for a date. Still keeping him at arm's length, she agrees to friendship.

Afraid to ask for help, as trusting others with her secrets are hard for Sydney to share. Vaughn’s need to protect Sydney is strong, but when her past catches up to her, will he be there?

There are moments when I am not sure how this is going to end. Trust the Archer family to come together in the end. I will miss Poppy Valley, and I can not wait to see where the author takes us next.

I received an advanced copy from the Author; this is my voluntary review.

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH ONE OF A VARIETY OF SOURCES. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

I always get excited when I hear that this author has a new book coming out, and this one was no exception! Sometimes, the suspense lags behind a bit, but not with this read!

I loved how strong and independent Sydney was! It got her in trouble more often than not, but I really admired her dedication to hard work and making her own way. I loved her relationship with her best friends and loved that she was able to fall in so easily with Kaia and Cami. Also, I loved watching Vaughn fall in love! He was always the one I was least able to connect with, and having him fall like this was well worth the wait!

The suspense angle was really well done, and it felt like it kept ramping up right until the end of the book. I would have enjoyed reading more about the villain in the story and his motivations for wanting revenge as much as he did, but that's personal preference and nothing more. All things considered, this is a great summer read!

OOOh I loved watching Vaughn and Sydney find each other. Sydney on the run from dodgy characters she met at her 2nd job when she was trying to pay off medical debt. Vaughn, just about the sweetest tough guy ever!

Sydney will not put any more friends or her family in danger through her bad choices. She was put in a predicament by someone she shouldn't have placed so much trust in and it landed her in a world of hurt. Now Poppy Valley is her new home and she has poor Vaughn tied up in notes and lost for words at their first meeting!

Vaughn is sane, sensible, and rational. Well, except for when he meets Sydney, when he turns into a gaping idiot in his own opinion lol. Sydney just wants to be friends and Vaughn goes along with that, hoping that once she feels more settled she'll give him a chance and maybe tell him why she is in hiding.

Totally loved this last wee look at Archer Tactical. Vaughn was an absolute sweetheart. Protective, possessive (in the right way), and a big teddy bear at heart. Sydney is too proud for her own good and it nearly led to her downfall. I'm so glad I live in the UK cos the thought of all that debt with MY medical history leaves me feeling green! I would love to be adopted into the Archer family, they really take the saying all for one and one for all to heart!

This is the last book in the series and I will say I was sad to see it end. In this book we get Vaughn, the middle Archer brother who is a tad bit envious of what his brothers and sister have when it comes to love. When he meets Sidney, he is immediately smitten but she turns him down.

While Sidney is just as attracted and taken with Vaughn she turns him down because she is running from things in her past. Things that always have a way of catching up with you. As Vaughn works with Sidney to keep her safe the attraction because too strong to deny.

As I said I was sad this was the last book in the series and it meant the end. However, as always
A.K. Evans treats us to an amazing story. Honestly, with this series she saved the best for last. I don't think I would have survived the series if this book had been first. It was simply gutted me at times emotionally. The rollercoaster of emotions was almost too much to bear.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. This review was originally posted on Wickedly Romance

Oh, how I loved Vaughn. He deserved absolutely everything good, and he found it in Sydney. Sure, she’s hiding something, but that’s okay. Love can get them through. Right? Or...can it?

Sydney had some things to hide, and several reasons to hide them. And while she was flawed, it made her so human that it was incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to like her. She wants so desperately to have everything with Vaughn, but she just knows she’s going to lose him when the truths all come tumbling out.

These two didn’t have OTT drama, which is a very refreshing thing that this author excels at. The drama that exists is there to help the story along and has valid reasons for being, unlike drama just to be a drama llama or some nonsense. It helps that I already wanted the Archer brothers to find their happiness, so this was the perfect end to their series. Vaughn proved to be just as loving and easygoing as I’d hoped, while Sydney proved to be so utterly wonderful that she deserved the forever she found with Vaughn. I’ll be sad to see this series end, but I look forward to what comes next from this author and her mind.

Book 3 in the Archer Tactical series. This was all about Vaughn and his love interest. A stand alone, but better if you've read the first 2. You will not feel lost if you haven't though.

I was intrigued from chapter one, two separate areas and seemingly two different plots...we have met Vaughn in prior books and the start of this book centers on Sydney.

Through some unfortunate circumstances and self-proclaimed bad choices Sydney finds herself relocating. She is determined to keep herself and her loved ones safe and to her that means limiting her contact with others and not letting herself get to know people.

Vaughn has always been the sensible one of the Archer brothers. He loves his family fiercely but also has a little jealousy over what he fears he wont have, his own love and happy ending. He is immediately awestruck by Sydney and determined to get a chance with her after her initial rejection to his request for a date.

Finding herself at Archer Tactical Sydney is reluctant to start anything related to Vaughn, due to her attraction to him, she still wants to keep others safe by keeping them at arms length. However this gives Vaughn a chance to show his skills, and patience to be Sydney's friend.

Sydney doesn't trust that their feelings are enough and keeps her secrets. When her nightmares become a reality, Vaughn doesn't know how to help and may not have the chance.

This had some heartbreaking moments but was such a great way to end the series. I loved seeing all the brothers come together for each other. A must read series, you will absolutely fall in love with Poppy Valley and the Archer men.

I really wish Silent Target wasn't the last book in Archer Tactical because it's up there with the Cunningham Security series by A.K. Evans. It has all those traits I love in my books with amazing heroes, strong heroines, and a ton of suspense with a big kicker of heat. Sydney Ryan is a woman who hasn't known what to do with her life so she wasn't going to college until she knew. An emergency surgery produced a lot of debt, so she's been working night & day to pay it off which is how she ended up in trouble. It's big enough that she had to abandon her life to go to the other side of the country so no one she loved would get hurt, which is how she meets Vaughn. He wants what his brothers have found, but until Sydney came to town, he wasn't holding his breath. He wants to date her but she turns him down flat, however, fate was on board since she ended up at Archer Tactical for help to defend herself & the rest was history. A.K. Evans really dropped breadcrumbs for a lot of this story in revealing what Sydney had gotten herself involved in so I didn't move one inch until every last page was devoured. She holds out for some time in telling Vaughn but that danger didn't just stick around at home, nope, it followed her. And that's all I'll say about that, so you know what to do to see how it all plays out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Afraid for her life after getting involved in a shady deal, Sydney closed her eyes and put her finger on a map and moved to Poppy Valley, leaving everyone she knew and loved behind for a chance at safety.

Vaughn wasn't looking for love when he went to lunch with his sister, but the visceral reaction he had to their server has him wanting more from her immediately. When she turns him down he is devastated . . . . until she walks into Archer Tactical a few days later.

Friends first, Vaughn wants more, and when Sydney realizes life is too short and that anything can happen at any time she gives in to her feelings for him. But what happens when Sydney's past shows up at her door will change everything for both of them?

Vaughn is an absolute sweetheart. Loyal and loving, he is a protector at heart and tries to give Sydney everything she needs. Sydney has baggage. She doesn't share it because she is afraid of what Vaughn will think of her, and it almost costs her everything. She is spunky but wasn’t my favorite character of the series because I felt her lack of openness about her situation put more than just her at risk.

I adored how Vaughn's family came together when he needed them most. It was a really touching moment in the series. If you haven’t read this author yet, Archer Tactical is a great series to dive in with! 4 stars.

Flat, dry, boring - read on KU

I just finished reading a series where the author wrote great stories but they were too embellished and it made them drag in places. Then I read this and it is the opposite end of the spectrum. Descriptions are bland, or lacking. There is no chemistry between our MCs. This was my 375th book this year, all romance, and the chemistry here had to be in the bottom 5% of the books I've read this year.

Everything is said in a matter of fact tone. At one point, Sydney tells Vaughn she's been paying attention to him for a few weeks and likes what she sees. That's something you tell an employee on a performance review or after doing research on a new house or whatever. It's a boring way to tell a guy you are into him.

The sex scenes in this book were extremely boring. Fading to black instead wouldn't have cut out many sentences.

Even the relationships between Vaughn and his family were weak. The same as with Sydney and her friends and family.

And then there are the major plot holes. Sydney is on the run after helping someone do something hnderhanded at an underground gambling ring where she had been working. She is smart in that she leaves town without telling anyone where she is going. She picks a random spot on the other side of the country. But when she gets there, she doesn't try to fly under the radar at all. She needed fake documents and to change her name. Or at least go by her middle name. She doesn't get a new cell phone and continues to call the man she helped and her friends and family from it. The book never says who the bad guy is. He never even is given a name. We can assume it is a mafia type guy. It certainly was someone with a lot of money. People like that have the technology to track cell phones, or dirty cops to do it for them. And the guy she helped should have helped her get those fake papers. And why didn't the bad guy go after him since he was the one that actually did the deed and planned the whole thing. It would have made much more sense for the guy to go after both of them.

Backing up from that, Sydney gets in a bad situation because she has to have emergency surgery to remove her appendix. She says she owes $84k in medical bills after the hospital discounted them. While it is true medical expenses are through the roof, both of my teenage children have had emergency surgery in the last 3 years and the total for surgery and the ER and everything else involved was $12K BEFORE insurance discounts. Most appendectomy surgeries are outpatient these days. Even in a different market, and with a day's stay in the hospital, there is no way her bill should have been more than $20K after discounts. I realize the author needed a reason for Sydney to be desperate for money but a little better research would have provided some other medical problem - perhaps a bad car accident- that would have cost her that much.

I will say I didn't notice any grammatical errors.

One last annoyance was time jumped somewhat randomly. The time line was consistent except for in one thing she told the police at the end of the book.

Luckily, this book was short and I skimmed through it to finish it but even that was a waste of time. It lacked in detail and emotion. This was my first and last book by this author.

So Sad That This Series Has Ended
The Archer Tactical series by A.K. Evans was one that I so looked forward to reading after first getting to “meet” the Archer brothers in their baby sister’s book in the Everything series. Each one of these stories was a page-turner, but in the case of Book 3, “Silent Target,” the author certainly saved the best for last. Vaughn is the middle brother, co-owner of the family company, and lifelong best friend of his sister, Monroe. He’s sinfully sexy, kind, and more than a smidge protective of the people he loves. He is completely thrown for a loop at the instant, white-hot chemistry he feels upon meeting a stunning server at a restaurant, and he sets out to discover more about her. Sydney is beautiful, sweet, and running from some mistakes she made back home in New Jersey, and her first instinct is to deny the attraction she feels toward Vaughn in an attempt to protect them both. As always, Evans treats us to a well-developed story packed with steam, suspense, and action that grabs us to the very end, and while I have NEVER walked away from an A.K. Evans book without shedding a tear or two, I wasn’t prepared for the emotional rollercoaster I went on while reading this one. All. The. Feels. Goosebumps and ugly crying to giggles and heart-tugging aww moments...this one had it all. And in such a wonderful way, Evans made all of the Archer siblings integral parts of the story. It was almost like it was an homage to the end of the Archer family’s run in her body of work, giving each of them a chapter to drive home that a prevailing theme (in my humble opinion) in this series - as well as in the original Everything series - has been family. I am infinitely sad to see this amazing series end, but I’m so very excited to see what the author has in store for her loyal fans in the future. Screw the five-star rating; this one deserves nothing less than 15!

I can't believe it's over !! I don't want it to be over at Polly Valley & Archer Tactical 🥰 I love Monroe and her logic. She was upset with Vaughn for not having girl cause his brothers got their girls in the summer. She hope it's was his turn and she right it is

It's is now Vaughn turn and of cause his girl has a intense past that is chasing after her. Which is a fantastic way to end this trilogy.

Sydney we get a few time jumps from her friends road trip to her Underground Casino job. Yes she has a interesting story and I will not spoil. I gave a teases that it.

I LOVE their first meeting trust me it will melt you hearts. Especially if you are like me you read the previous and you do emotional invest in the characters.
Vaughn was tongue tired when he first met and the next day he came back to apologies for the tongue tie.

At Archer Tactical they are tried to show self defence & weapons etc. What I love we see how Vaughn read Sydney straight away when she has her first talk at Archer's. This show me he truely wants to support people & his heart is pure. He is still a action man and he take care of his girl!

This is why I love the brothers so much they are the strongest men you will ever meet but they are big caring hearts. They want to protect & teach to protect. A.K Evans has do amazing job looking into self defence moves and weapons especially on the law of owning one.

Now back to the love story. It is friends to lover and she is scared to fall for him cause she been on the run for 5 years because....no spoilers. Don't the Archers will protector.

Vaughn got the seal of approval from her parents. True heart warming moment...I just wish it was under better circumstances...no spoilers

I love this small town, suspense romance. This trilogy is one of my favs

An independent woman that wants to make her way on her own. She knows that she can ask her parents for help, but she doesn’t want to put them in a situation where they end up in debt. The only trouble is that her choice to do it on her own puts her in danger as well as others. Sydney is doing fine and working as a waitress. She isn’t rich, but she is doing fine, that is until she has a medical emergency while on vacation with her two best friends. The medical bills are surmounting and putting her in debt so quickly that she takes another job on the side. Then she finds herself as a pawn by someone that she thought was a friend.

Vaughn Archer is having lunch with his sister. The restaurant they went to has a new waitress and Vaughn is speechless when he sees her. He’s never been speechless before, luckily Monroe, his sister, can still talk and place their order for lunch. She’ll be a challenge for Vaughn and will show him that there is so much more to life than just Archer Tactical and his family.

I loved Vaughn’s story. He worked hard to gain Sydney’s trust and open her eyes to him. Sydney has a lot of danger and pain to face, but with Vaughn by her side, she’ll find a way through it and will be able to move on and have a good life. The Archer men are Alpha, loyal, very sexy men that will go to any length to protect the people they love. Sydney’s past has found her and now she has to clear the path to a future. When danger finds her at her own home, she knows that she has to call Vaughn, but the words that she speaks to Vaughn tears his heart out of his chest and he’s on his way to her with his brother by his side. I loved the Archer Tactical Series and wish there were more to come. I give this story a 5-star review.

Vaughn and Sydney

Vaughn was the last single Archer sibling. He was beginning to believe he was the exception in his family, until he meets Sydney and for the first time in his life feels like he’s finally met his woman. But just because Vaughn is sure Sydney was meant to be his, Sydney isn’t sure she can take the risk. She’s running from the mistakes of her past, hoping to get her life back.

After turning Vaughn down, Sydney unknowingly places herself back in his path when she goes to Archer Tactical looking for a class on personal defense. Vaughn decides he’ll do anything to prove Sydney can trust him and sets out to be her friend.

Keeping her secrets from Vaughn is hard, and the more time she spends with him, the more she sees that he may just be the perfect man. She finally gives in and decides to give their relationship a shot, and just as she’s ready to give him all her secrets, her past catches up to her.

Vaughn might be my favorite Archer brother. The way he put aside his feeling to give Sydney the time to get comfortable with him and developing a strong foundation for their relationship. He loved Sydney in such a special way and his reaction in the hospital was heartbreaking. It really showed the depth of his love for Sydney.

This was a great wrap up for this series, and the Archer family. There wasn’t a lot of suspense and the story focused more on the relationship between Sydney and Vaughn and that made for a deeper relationship between them and more insight into their characters.

Silent Target is book 3 in the Archer Tactical series, they can be read on their own but you'll love them so much more if you read them in order. The Archer brothers are pretty damn amazing and Vaughn is no exception.
Sydney is a quiet girl who loves people, she's just trying to get by and pay her bills when a job comes along that will take care of all of it and give her time to figure out what she wants to do with her life.
She's not a risk taker but the man who offers her the job is someone she trusts so she accepts.
Little does she know it's going to turn her world upside down.
She moves across the country to get away from the repercussions of that job and begins to settle in when she meets Vaughn. She's attracted to him but can she trust him?
Vaughn doesn't know what hit him when he comes face to face with Sydney for the first time, he's literally dumbstruck.
Luckily he's smart enough to try to make up for his initial idiocy and a friendship develops.
Vaughn fell head over heels with her the moment he saw her but she has a past she's not over so friends it is. He'll just keep his feelings to himself and help her anyway he can
When that past shows up and her life is in danger she knows she has to tell him the truth but she isn't sure she can face life without him if he turns his back on her.
Silent Target is a romantic suspense with instalove, secrets and some pretty amazing families.

Sydney Ryan is a protector. She shoulders all of her responsibilities and keeps things from her family and friends so she isn't a burden. The one thing that erased her medical debt could very well end her life. So she does the only thing she can, she moves cross country to keep her family and friends out of harm's way. The first person who shows interest in her is none other than Vaughn Archer. But she's wary of who she can trust. As fate would have it, she runs into Vaughn at Archer Tactical, where she goes to arm herself with firearms and self defense training. Vaughn mistakes the fear he sees in Sydney's eyes for a history with domestic violence, but no matter how hard Sydney falls into a relationship with Vaughn, she can't reveal what she's running from. But, all those secrets led to her life on the line. It was then she truly knew the power of love.

Vaughn, the last of the Archers to fall in love. Oh boy did he fall hard for Sydney. When you know, you know. One look and Vaughn knew. He was willing to bide his time, be Sydney's friend, train her in self defense and firearms handling. His personality was tough to put in a box and forget. His charisma draws you out and pulls you in. Sydney had no chance of protecting her heart from Vaughn. The author has a talent for mixing suspense with small town life and romance. It's what keeps me coming back to her works of art.

I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.

I was itching to get back to Poppy Valley and see what A.K. Evans had in store for the last Archer brother standing. The opening alone had me invested and the wheels spinning as to what exactly happened.

I really like Vaughn. He has been in the other books but getting to know him was such a treat. He was kind and protective. Loyal and sweet.  Ready to fall in love and start the next phase of his life all he needed was the right woman. Enter Sydney. Scared, alone, on the run, starting over and not interested in anything other than that. Too bad Vaughn didn't get that memo.

I liked their easy friendship they formed. How he introduced her to her new hometown. Made me smile and let her guard down a bit. Gave her back some of the confidence she had lost. But the fear of what she was running from was never far from her mind. And when that bit of her past caught up to her, everything hung in the balance.

Talk about heart stopping. I was holding my breath along with the entire Archer clan waiting for the news. From start to finish Silent Target was full of steam and swoony moments. Sydney and Vaughn's thoroughly satisfying small-town romance was the best way to wrap up this series.

Silent Target is book 3 in the Archer Tactical Series. Of the 3 books in the series, this one is my favourite. The chemistry between Sydney and Vaughan was undeniable. The suspense made me not be able to put down the book. I enjoyed the journey the Sydney took to figure who she is and also her strength.

But when vengeance comes knocking, she wonders if remaining a silent target was a wise idea. Maybe some secrets are better off revealed at the start. Because now, Sydney may never get the chance to tell Vaughn the truth.

This is the 3rd book in this amazing series and is Vaughn and Sydney’s story. Vaughn is the middle brother and co-owner of the family business, and he is drawn to the new waitress in town Sydney. Sydney has made some questionable choices in life and is now on the run while living in fear for her life, which has her needing to protect herself and she ends up at Archer’s Tactical. Vaughn can see through the façade which Sydney presents, and he knows that there is more to her story than just needing defence and tactical training, but Sydney keeps her secrets close to her chest, and she has trust issues, but Vaughn will do whatever he must to protect and keep her safe. Will Sydney trust Vaughn and reveal her secrets or will it be too late when the danger catches up with her? This is a well written story which has secrets, vengeance, danger, suspense, intrigue, twists, turmoil, and is an entertaining and steamy addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Silent Target - Archer Tactical Book 3 and the last book in this series!

4.5 Stars!

*Instalove
*Romantic Suspense

Sydney Ryan put herself into a position where she fears she will be next. She doesn't like asking for help instead, she tries to work things out the best way she can. When she becomes buried in medical debt, she made some choices that put her on the run. Moving to the opposite coast to try to remain off their target, Sydney meets Vaughn Archer. There is immediate chemistry and connection and they begin building a friendship but don't remain in the friend zone long. I adored Vaughn - his heart was so kind and he loved big! Sydney hasn't yet opened up when her choices catch up with her. This story was captivating and full of suspense. I enjoyed how the Archer family all comes together to be there for Vaughn - the emotion and heaviness of the situation were written so beautifully and I could feel every emotion as I read. Definitely made Silent Target my #1 book of this series!

Silent Target is a perfect ending for the Archer Tactical series. While you can read it as a stand alone, it would be a better experience to be read as part of the full series since it is about Vaughn Archer, the middle brother.
We meet Sydney who got into some financial trouble and made a bad decision that left her on the run to protect herself. Their meet-cute is adorable. She the waitress that steals his speech while Vaughn is having lunch with his sister and he can’t stop thinking about her afterwards. They strike up a friendship when Sydney denies herself more for their safety , but quickly realizes she doesn’t want to be only friends. Vaughn knows she’s keeping a big secret from him but is willing to wait until she’s ready to share.
Just when Sydney comes to the realization she needs to tell him the whole story of why she’s hiding, trouble finds her, but is it too late?
I loved this as the final book. Just like the previous two, it had romance, chemistry, suspense and was intense. What a great finale, although it is bittersweet to say goodbye.

Sydney Ryan’s been keeping secrets and on the run for much too long. Drowning in debt Sydney took an easier way out than her conscience would’ve normally nudged her. Morgan and Vaughn Archer came in on Sydney’s third day at work. Looking at her left him speechless, he came again and asked her she was affected but refused, honestly knowing the timing was wrong. But a few days later, Sydney found herself at Archer Tactical looking for help and is surprised to find Vaughn.

Vaughn’s clear that he wants an intimate relationship and Sydney’s equally clear they can’t go that route. As Sydney’s skill and confidence grew so did their friendship and emotion until they were equal. Sydney can’t find the nerve to tell Vaughn what was going on. She’s more upset when she gets a call telling her, the past could be on its way to her door. She’s the last of the suspects he believes owes him vengeance. Thinking Vaughn was at the door, Sydney flings it open, shocked to see her worst nightmare and uses her small skills to fight for her life.

Sydney & Vaughn
Sydney has a past that got her in a bit of trouble which causes her to move across the country to Poppy Valley. She’s extremely self sufficient and determined. Vaughn is the middle brother of the Archer boys and ready to finally find love after watching his brothers and sisters all get their happily ever after. He’s extremely thoughtful and caring and nurturing.
They start as friends after a complete chance encounter where she takes his breath away. Friends is all Sydney has to give and Vaughn more than happily accepts just wanting to be in her life. They so easily grow into their romance.
AK Evans does such an amazing job in this series bringing you so much joy and growth with the couple before hitting you hard with a devastating event. And this event for Sydney and Vaughn brought tears to my eyes. I highly recommend not just this book but the entire Archer Tactical series!

This is the third book in this series by this author. This is the story of Vaughn and Sydney, there relationship just blooms as you read, they are a great couple. This is a friends to lovers romance read which also has suspense and is set in a small town. This story will take you on an emotional roller coaster of a ride through out. This is the last in this series, I'm sad to see this series end, this author has definitely saved the best story to the last one. This is a page turner of a read from start to finish. Fantastic addition to this series.

I was given an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my honest review

Swoon worthy:
This was the third book in the Archer Tactical series, featuring the last remaining single brother, Vaughn. He was your typical alpha male and I really liked how protective, sweet and understanding he was. Sydney was new to town and hiding from her dangerous past. She was hesitant to trust and fearful of getting too close to anyone, however Vaughn managed to work his way under her defences.
I really liked these two together and was rooting for them. You could really feel the connection between them and I liked that we were also able to catch up with past characters from the previous books.
One thing that I really appreciate about this author is how diverse and unique each of her stories are. I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

The final book in the Archer Tactical series finishes it on a huge high filled with emotions, passion and a story that will have you on the edge of your seat. Vaughn and Sydney take us on a roller coaster ride to their happily ever after that is action packed, filled with secrets and guilt. Sydney has found herself a silent target and isn't willing to risk anymore people, however when Vaughn finds himself speechless in her presence, he might just be worth risking it all for. Their story has you guessing as to what Sydney has got herself caught up in and holding your breath waiting for her to disclose it all to Vaughn. The connection and chemistry between these two is felt deep under your skin. A story about trust, family and a love that can't be torn apart. A beautiful ending to a series that has captivated me right through.

Sydney’s attempt to do the best she could in the situation she found herself in has put her in danger and in order to protect herself and those she cares about she has left the only life she has ever known and is starting over. Learning self defense is vital if her past catches up with her but Vaughn was a complication she wasn’t expecting.

Vaughn is a partner in Archer Tactical and was enchanted by Sydney from their first meeting when he was a patron at the diner where she worked. He is more than willing to teach her self defense as he hopes that by spending time together she will see him as more than a friend but first they must deal with the secrets from her past that come back to affect her present.

This story finds the perfect balance between romance and suspense as Sydney and Vaughn must fight for each other to have the future they could have together.

Before reading this book I was mentally preparing myself for this series to end. The first two books with the Archer Brothers were fantastic. This book was definitely worthy of the final book in the series. Vaughn Archer has watched his brothers fall in love and was beginning to wonder if he would ever get his chance. Sydney Ryan is on the run. From what though is the question that Vaughn is trying to figure out. He knows she needs help but he wants to do than help her. He finally sees and starts to feel what his brother went through. Their chemistry is there and when they finally give in to their feelings it may be a little to late. This book had a great balance of love, suspense and quality. I loved this book and this was a great end to the series. I know this is the end to the series but I'm hoping there is a trip back to Poppy Valley again in the future.
