Mr. Series #3

Mr. Garcia

Rate this book
He was gorgeous, older and guarded.
I knew he was trouble from the moment we locked eyes.

We met at work, on my first day as a barista.
He smiled, I melted … then he tasted my coffee and threw it away.

Again, the next day, and the next.
He hated the coffee, yet still came back.
I knew his game.

He called my coffee death in a cup.
I called him god’s gift to women.
I wasn’t lying.

Then we ran into each other outside of the coffee house, and that’s when things got interesting.

No longer suave and sweet with impeccable manners.
Mr. Garcia had a darker side, his appetite, thick and heavy.
He set me on fire.

Unable to help it, we fell hopelessly in love.
The highest of highs.

But his demons are dark, as are mine.

I’m not sure if we can make it and I know I have two choices.
Walk away now to save myself.
Or try and hold on and let love be the light.

I choose option two.

love how the disclaimer for this book really says:

"Sebastian Garcia is not the 'sweet kind of guy'. If you are not into strong-willed men, you will be by the end of this book."

and you're probably wondering, is this Sebastian Garcia dude really not the 'sweet kind of guy'? weeelll lemme show you what Sebastian (H) says the third time he meets the heroine // WARNING for all the poor, unfortunate innocent souls out there this quote ⤵ is NSFW //

"Get on your knees and suck my dick, you dirty whore."

sooo, you be the judge of whether or not this Sebastian Garcia dude is the "sweet kind of guy" while i go bleach my eyes please and thx.

honestly, i'm glad the disclaimer was there in the beginning because holy shit. the annoyance? the anger? the infuriation? the annoyance (had to repeat this twice)? it was UN-fucking-PARALLELED. i just wanted to slap both Sebastian Garcia (H) and April Bennett (h) with my slippers the whole entire time and i'm not even exaggerating.

P L O T (??)

and as for the plot? well, as the wise words of the almighty withcindy said, BITCH, WHAT FUCKING PLOT?! WHERE IS IT?? WHERE'S THE FUCKING PLOT?!? YOU LOOK ME IN THE EYES RIGHT NOW AND YOU TELL ME WHAT THE FUCK KIND OF PLOT THERE WAS! just know that 1 horny idiot + another horny idiot = this whole book . okay? okay.

but ughhh fine if you wanna know,
↳ all that ever happened was April has a crush on Sebastian when he goes to the cafe she works at and visits only a couple of times, she accepts a job from a "gentleman's club" (y'all know what this means) then the manager for that place was like nuh uh honey you're gonna be one of our Escape Girls (don't pretend you don't know what this means), her first and only client is - surprise, surprise - horny idiot #1: Sebastian Garcia. they have sex for 7 days, miscommunication happens and then BOOM- a six-year time jump occurs.

and what do they do when they meet again? THEY FIGHT AND HAVE SEX. that's it. i'm not even joking this is all they ever do for the entire book it was exhausting oh my god.

C H A R A C T E R S

but moving on, let's talk about April Bennett (h) shall we?
first of all, can we just take a moment and acknowledge the fact that she really said this about Sebastian: "He looks like he may be European or something." and i genuinely got confused because wait a damn minute-

description

you're in London...
London is in Europe...
Europe = European...
... of-fuckin'-course he's gonna look "European" you dumbass ?!?

but this isn't the only quote where i questioned my sanity because y'all look at these:

↳ “This is true. Speak tomoz. xoxo."

seriously. who the f says toMoZ? tell me one person who says this right now. i'm waiting.

↳ "I have an alias now. How gangster."

sounds about ʸᵗ

↳ "He looks like he may be European or something."

yes, i'm repeating this because if i suffer, y'all need to as well 😭

and as for Sebastian Garcia (H), this dude really went from an architect to the Prime Minister of UK i- HOW? actually, why am i even questioning this. if a reality tv show star can become a president then why not an architect right? and i'm glad for the disclaimer in the beginning because from the previous books, i honestly thought he was the sweetest, most innocent guy in the whole friend group, what i didn't expect was for him to be such a punchable dick .

also, his backstory was so weird. he wanted rough sex but his ex- wife didn't?? and it resulted in him being so "dark" and "fucked up"?? yeah, i don't know how that justifies him treating the heroine like a prostitute but what the fuck do i know.

honestly, all the characters were unlikeable. it was so hard to connect with any of them because they were that annoying, especially the main characters. when i say, they are both stupid idiots when they fight, I. AM. NOT. JOKING. they are both so hypocritical and have a victim complex and when they're fighting, do they resolve it like a normal couple? nooOOoo. they - you guessed it - ✨fuck✨

Seb is the most unlikeable, untolerable hero i've ever read in this series. he calls the heroine a "whore" "dumb" "stupid", tells her to shut the fuck up when she's trying to communicate with him, tells her he sees her as a prostitute otherwise he can't get it up, calls April "Cartier" aka her "nickname" even though she's uncomfortable because those were bad memories for her and then he responds with ooo i LikE thOsE mEmoRiEs, when April was drunk and passed out he was disappointed because he wanted to "take advantage of her" and ended up jerking off right next to her, and finally he got mad at her for being upset that there was a possibility that he impregnated his ex-wife.

did i miss anything?

R O M A N C E

the romance was too fast bro like chill.

they met 2-3 times at the coffee shop, barely exchanged words and then had sex at that sex club and then had another fuckfest for 7 days and then boom ma’am is all like oh my god im falling in love with you. and ya know, when it comes to insta love, insta lust, insta every-fuckin’-thing, when a character says they're in love with the other obviously im not gonna believe them because ma’am you’re not in love with him, you’re in love with his dick.

these two went through a cycle for the entire book:

1) fight
2) ignores each other for like, a day. April gains a backbone.
3) Sebastian gives the whole "i'm fucked up i don't deserve you" speech.
4) April falls for it and loses her backbone.
5) they fuck.
6) REPEAT. REPEAT. REPEAT.

this went on and on and ON till 80% of the book where they got married and where the actual plot started to happen with the whole ex wife drama.

O W D R A M A (spoilers)

no, they both weren't celibate during the 6 year time jump. Sebastian was visiting the brothel a lot and April dated a lot and had a fwb with Duke (OM) for 4 years. she ended things with him after her first kiss with Sebastian.

and as for the ex-wife drama that happened at the last 10ish% of the book, Seb was drugged one night and didnt remember anything. Seb never told April that there may or may not have been a girl in his room, and then they forget about this for a while and THEN, ex wife wants 10 million because she has a pic of him and April at the brothel but then it was all a fluke AND THENNN, apparently there WAS a woman that night when he was drugged and that woman was his ex wife who is now apparently 14 weeks pregnant yayyy. yes, all of this is fake by the way.

───── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ─────

can we talk about how unlikeable, at least for me, Seb, Spencer and Julian are when they're having their bro moments? theyre just so- they remind me of... the partriarchy? ah i don't know they give me those dudebro frat boy in an ivy league, misogynistic, the riot club vibes ya know what i mean? all they do was complain about their wives, call other women “fucking hot” and reminisce their single lives and how they miss going to the Escape lounge *cough* the brothel *cough* because it was the ultimate fantasy.

the only character i tolerated was Jeremy. that's it.

now, the disclaimer said, "If you are not into strong-willed men, you will be by the end of this book." do i like strong-willed men? uhh, yeah. but do i like a dick to end all dicks, who has a victim complex, says he's gonna change but never does, and treats the heroine like a prostitute and never grovels? um.

4 Sexual Healing Stars ⭐

This is exactly what I expect from a TL Swan novel. Beautiful people with too many fucking issues, scorching sex scenes that gets the blood pumping and heroes that need a kick in the dick before the right woman sorts them out. Mr Garcia was no different. Infuriating, sexy and wrong. You'll hate before you love...

“I can’t fuck a rich guy for money,” I whisper.

“Sure, you can. I’ve fucked dead shits for free before.”

It began with flirtations over coffee and peaked at being paid for sex. This is no everyday romance. However for two individuals burned from past relationships, this is the new norm.

His eyes are fixed on mine. “Get on your knees and suck my dick, you dirty whore.”

Excitement screams through my body. This is fucked up…. but holy hell, it’s hot. “I wouldn’t suck your dick if it were the last cock on Earth,” I whisper. “I’m broke, not desperate.”

At the time that April meets Sebastian, she is an older struggling student needing a serious cash injection. It was supposed to be her way out, but instead she finds herself ensnared by Mr Garcia.

Sebastian does not do monogamy. He guarantees to blow your mind, but commitment isn't an option. And he may second guess his choices when he meets April, but he already has one foot out the door.

They will initially go their separate ways, but fate won't keep them apart forever. After the first shitstorm, April needs to guard her heart. Yet with chemistry that consumes them, neither can let it go. The alternative is to try and navigate the minefield which is Sebastian's hang ups.

“I’m sick of your childish bullshit, Sebastian.” I turn and march toward the stairs, and he follows me like a bull.

“What does that mean?”

I turn on him like the devil. “It means that you had better man up. Grow some balls and let yourself love me or step the fuck back so that someone else can.”

What can I say? Opinions will be divided. There was drama I didn't enjoy and Sebastian makes the word asshole seem tame. But damn was this story sizzling and it certainly pushed limits. April was a fantastic heroine. Although in over her head she always maintained her dignity and could bust balls when necessary. As for Mr Garcia, we all need to cross paths with his kind one time in our lives. Maybe not to keep, just for a moment to feel the exhilaration.

Well, I did it. I did what many have tried and failed to do and that’s finish this book. I’m giving myself a pat on the back cause I deserve it after this shit show. How many times did I want to hit myself in the face? About as many times as the hero called the heroine a whore. In other words, a lot.

To say this book made me mad beyond belief is an understatement. Now I’ve read my fair share of asshole heroes, but there is a difference between being an asshole and being an absolute piece of shit. My low rating is because I couldn’t stand anything the MCs did or said. The writing style was just not it for me. Honestly, the whole book felt like a smuttier version of a Wattpad book I would have read when I was 15.

If you want reasons on why you might not want to read this book, keep reading.

Warning: SPOILERS BELOW also a ton of bad language

Plot

Basically April (h) and Sebastian (H) meet at the coffee shop April was working at. They have a few interactions, but nothing progresses until April decides to take up a job at a strip club. At this club she sees Seb, who’s PISSED that she’s there…I guess he thought she ‘wasn’t like other girls’ lmao. She chooses him to be her over-night date where they fight and have sex. Their relationship then goes through separation and a reconciliation over many years. I have zero energy to describe their relationship any further. If you want me to describe the plot, or lack thereof, in one word…it’s sex. That’s all that happens. They fight, sex. They break-up, sex. He calls her a whore, sex. She gives him an ultimatum, sex.

The romance

Essentially, there is none. I felt zero chemistry between them. The plot section above basically describes the romance between them, all they do is go at it. In April’s inner-thoughts she says that she’s ‘falling’ for Seb, SEVEN CHAPTERS IN. Keep in mind they just went on their first and literally only real date of the entire book and the author cut the date off, so we learned nothing about it. At this point she’s learned more about him through a Google search than from his own mouth…How am I supposed to feel ANY connection at all to these characters

Time jump

Let’s be clear here, time jumps are only acceptable in the epilogue. There’s no reason that there had to be a 6 year time jump 25% of the way through the book

Sebastian

“Are you deaf, dumb, or just plain stupid?”

Let me be honest, Seb is a horrible person. He constantly is calling April a whore or stupid. Seb basically has this issue where he can’t get it up unless he’s with a prostitute. His reasoning is because he likes his sex rough, and he thinks only prostitutes can ‘take it’. In turn, he treats April throughout the whole book like she’s a hooker. He even calls her by her former stage name ‘Cartier’ and plays Sexual Healing by Marvin Gaye, which was her walk out song at the club. Is this not the most off-putting thing you’ve ever heard?!

At one point, April and Seb are having one of their many fights because he called her Cartier again after she told him not to. She asks him why he calls her that and asks if it brings back bad memories like it does to her. His response was “Nope…I happen to like those memories a lot better than these ones.” EXCUSE ME, BUT WHAT

Now to the fucking most random thing to ever happen in a book I’ve read. I’m 75% through and all the damn sudden Seb is pulling April into a ‘red room’ and starts a whole ass BDSM scene with her, without ever talking to her about it. He ALSO tries to enter her in her ‘exit only’ hole after she already told him he wasn’t ready for that and she had to tell him to stop. The whole scene made me so damn uncomfortable. She was so uncomfortable and confused and I just wanted it to stop.

Another weird ass scene, April gets drunk and passes out before her and Seb can have sex. While she’s sleeping next to him, he literally gets himself off (luckily this scene isn’t given in detail), but I’m just wondering what the author’s mindset was while writing that scene

April’s kind of a crackhead

“I’m not stupid, you know.”
“Could have fooled me,” I hear him mutter.
I smile to myself, and I know that he will be smiling too.

The quote says it all the heroine is just weird all together. Some of the shit she says, does and thinks about had me wanting to close this book and throw it out. She, for literally no reason, writes a prenup for Seb for him to use for his future wife WHILE THEY’RE TOGETHER THEMSELVES. Sweetheart, explain this reasoning.

At one point, Seb gets mad at her for exposing their relationship to his lawyer, without talking to him first, and when he gets made about it, she tries to throw a SHOE at him. I actually LOLed while writing that sentence. The scene is just so damn weird and confusing.

She doesn’t want her friends to know about her and Seb’s relationship because he’s the Deputy Prime Minister. When they ask if she ever pursued it, she tells them no because he’s dating his secretary. EXPLAIN HOW THAT CREATES DISCRETION AND HELPS HIM.

She also Googles what ocean surrounds the Maldives and when she reads that it’s the Indian Ocean, she’s disappointed because she thought it’d be something more ‘exotic’. I truly wish I was making all this up

There’s so many more things I want to include, but this book drained me so much that this review probably doesn't make any sense unless you read the book. How this book has this many 5 stars is beyond my understanding of the world.

In short,

I’ve seen some bad translations in books but this one takes the grand prize:

“Lo hago, y eres la mujer de mierda más hermosa que he visto.”

... 😐😐😐😐
What did she put on google translator to get that sentence? And the fact that the heroine swooned with it was hilarious, she is calling you the prettiest shitty woman(?)

description

This book was pretty weird.
The prostitute roleplay and the reason behind of why they did it was fucking weird. He fucks prostitutes because they are the only ones that can handle his roughness... 🤨

Also the gaslighting, lies and miscommunications grated on my nerves.
The heroine thankfully wasn’t a doormat, but it got to a point where the hero was annoying and a whiny baby.

I also didn’t remember Spencer being so slimy with the comments he made in this book.

Sebastian! I already got a little taste and I'm literally already hooked like a fledgling addict!!

I was going to swallow this book down whole but then I realised:

You gulp down a Big Mac, but Sebastian Garcia is Filet Mignon at it's best ~

every last bite that lands in your mouth, you savour it and luxuriate in it's taste.

And damn, does he taste good...

I liked "Mr Masters" despite its flaws and all but his friends' books "Mr Spencer" and "Mr Garcia" are not appealing to me because these heroes really sound disgusting in many ways.

Here's a very detailed awesome review about "Mr Garcia"... Everything about this book sounds very distasteful to me.

April’s Fool!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌎
Character development: ☺️😉😀😘🥰

The heroine: April Bennett - a Barista in law school on a full scholarship. She is an American in London and has a ton of compassion to the less fortunate. When she sees a wealthy looking man on the street in a suit approach a homeless man, she is afraid of what he will say or do to the man, but he is gentle with the man and gives him money. She is impressed.

The Hero: Sebastian Garcia - He is the man April saw on the street. He is older than April and first meets her in the coffee shop where she works. He is interested in her, and keeps returning to see her though he hates the coffee she makes. He is a wealthy architect and is divorced from a woman that he found in bed with the gardener.

The Story: April is 25 years old and lives in the dorms with a bunch of freshman who are away from home for the first time and living it up. April hates all the noice, parties and loud sex noises. She has no choice because she is on scholarship and has no money after her divorce unless her ex husband decides to sell the house. She just gets a coveted interview at a very exclusive gentlemen’s club called Club Exotic where she can make enough money to pay rent on an apartment.

This book is dual points of view, told via dual narration. The narration is done by Shane East and Elena Wolfe. Shane has a very nice voice with a terrific sophisticated British accent. Elena Wolfe has a strong clear feminine voice which is very pleasing to listen to. Both narrators are very good and this was a great listen!

I kept wondering how or why April is going to law school in London considering the fact that she seemed to be planning to go back to the states at some point, until part way through the book she mentioned she is studying international law, so that made sense. I liked that each of these characters had their own lives outside their relationship. Sebastian helped raise his sister’s son who even calls him Dad and he designs skyscrapers in the US and Dubai.

I love T.L. Swan books because they have great storylines. The side storylines about other characters are detailed and great, but the main storyline is always about the relationship between the two main characters as it builds, as they go through ups and downs. It isn’t just insta-love, intimate scenes and next comes marriage and a baby carriage. The relationships in her books have depth and chemistry and are always feelings and heat like crazy.

i hated everything about this except the smut and not even that saved this book.

sebastian and april constantly fought and acted like actual children and i couldn’t force myself to keep reading it after around 60%. i skimmed the rest of the book. i almost want to make a shelf for my most anticipated releases that ended up being complete disappointments.

also was it just me who actually liked spencer in his book but HATED him in this? i found myself constantly rolling my eyes every time he spoke.

i have read most of t.l. swan’s books and i did like most of them but oh my GOD, this book??? what happened?? lmao it hit like every stupid trope ever. a whiny childish hero, a doormatt heroine who wanted so badly to “fix” the hero, a cheating ex wife with a stupid blackmail scheme... i could go on but.. just no.

2 stars for the smut and the handsome man on the cover ✌️

edit: (actually i changed my mind it's now 1 star)

Oh I forgot to mention that I only started this book cause the man on the cover is too beautiful. Too gorgeous.

DNF at 20%.
I try to be fair so I don't rate the book unless I've read at least 60% of the book. But this was one of the worst 20% I've ever read hence the 1 star.

I like waitress- customer relationships. They seem very sweet and simple.
I did see the terrible reviews my friends gave this book but well I'm clearly a sucker for punishment.😑
T.L Swan has never worked for me . I need to learn from my mistakes. The writing was terrible.
The h and H were both board certified idiots.

"Do you have goat’s milk?” the trendy-looking woman asks.
“Umm.” I glance behind me to ask Monica but she’s disappeared. I’ve never heard of goat’s milk before.

Well then you are an idiot.
I hate goat milk but like 65% of the world drinks goat milk so....

“I want a goat’s milk turmeric latte, thank you,” the customer says.

✋ 'trendy looking customer', 'milk turmeric latte' putting down other even minor characters does not make your h seem edgier. It's stupid, offensive and outdated.

Then this bitch goes to some club hoping to get hired as a waitress. A club called Club Expose very original *cue the eye roll* . But since our h ain't no basic bitch. The interviewer sees her bombshell body and makes her ✨a Golden Girl ✨ ........... ( an escort if you understand).

You’re something special.” Her eyes hold mine. “You have that X-factor, April.”
“Meaning?”

It means Simon Cowell comes and fucks you bitch.

And then she runs into Mr Garcia and then stuff happens during which he says things like:

"Let me in. Give me some cream and let me in.”

Then he calls her a whore , she leaves and so do I.
I couldnt do it anymore.

Ok so I don’t find anything cute when a man tells a woman “get down on your knees and suck my cook you dirty whore”

Ok.. so let me back it up. The heroine gets a job in a whorehouse. No matter how the madam makes it look like is still a whore house. The first night at her new job the hero is there. I’m guessing he’s a regular at the whorehouse because there’s a mention of a membership. He gets pissed that she’s there he said she doesn’t have what he wants she the pathetic fool screams when she’s being auctioned that she wants his nasty ass they go to a room where he proceeds to call her a dirty whore, the pathetic fool gets wet and hot when he calls her that. The self respect is amazing on this one!

This is my second try at this author. I’m not interested in reading her after this!

I wanted to cry from boredom while reading this.Seriously it’s like TL Swan just took out some excerpts from her other books, made a few changes and called it a book.I remember when I read Mr. Masters I was intrigued from the first page but this one was just...meh.I will still read TL’s future books because I really love some of her books but Mr. Garcia just didn’t work for me.This book has a special audience *clears throat , soccer moms* and I’m not a part of that.

It is almost frustrating that T.L. Swan cannot write a mediocre book (in my standards), because ONCE AGAIN, she gifted us with a GREAT, HOT, STEAMY, PASSIONATE, INTRIGUING story. As with all of Swan's books, i could not put it down.
Did you enjoy Mr. Masters?
Mr. Spencer?
Well, make some room because the third Mr., Mr. Sebastian Garcia will set you on fire.
What a trip that was. Sebastian and April were AMAZING together. Their story is somewhat unconventional and not one that may appeal to everyone. The way they came together at the first part of the story is not for the faint of heart, and the way that their relationship moved forward certainly did raise some eyebrows. And yet, once again, i was hooked with the author's talent in creating damaged characters and a passionate/toxic/steamy relationship.
Their raw passion and chemistry radiated from the pages, and i could not get enough. The third Mr. in the Mr. Series is a contradiction. You want to punch him and you want to be April just so you can experience his dirty-talk and his dominance. You want to kill him and you want to be his forever. Sebastian is all things possessive, jealous, gorgeous, moody, dominant, and dirty talker, and April was exactly what he needed. Someone to push his buttons, get him out of his comfort zone, challenge him, and bring out the beast in him.

One of my TOP reads for 2021, congratulations to the author for another stunning story. Looking forward to her next work soon, soon, soon!

I disliked this. SOOOOOOOO MUCH.

Rant incoming.

I wanted to throw my kindle at my wall and shatter it - this infuriated me so much. He did not deserve her, she also needed to grow a bloody spine. What a horrible hero, disgusting. I wish I would turn back time so I never read this s again.

What a frustrating read....another book with a hero that was hard to like ...Sebastion simply showed too much arrogance and cruelty at times ( I started to wonder if he really had any redeeming qualities).

That is two in a row for me (KateStewart's Room 212 being the other one).
I liked April though, I enjoyed watching her confidence grow in the six year gap in the storyline where she begins to flourish in her chosen career as a lawyer.

I know T.L. Swan likes to write about dominant , socially aggressive men and the women who tame them (somewhat) but this is definitely my least favorite of the "Mr Series".
Which is strange as I thought Sebastian appeared the more congenial and likeable of the three men in his cameos from the previous two books of this series.

Also some of the situations and events in this book were a little hard to digest ...i.e. the disappearance of the active Prime Minister ...his drug dependancy etc....April wondering about Sebastian's ethnicity....my BS meter kept alarming at regular intervals with disbelief at the absurdities throughout much of this story.

This book epitomizes all the things I dislike in the T.L. Swan books that I have DNF’d.

The on again off again, and overall back and forth between the two characters was exhausting and significantly annoying by the 30% mark. By, the 50% I wanted to chuck my iPad in the trash and rinse my brain out, but nevertheless I persevered—and skimmed the remainder of the book to see how they finally ended up together.

I didn’t like either of the main characters—both were so self destructive and un-relatable to myself at least. I hate that April would willingly volunteer herself to the capriciousness and volatility of a fucked-up relationship with Sebastian. I would have just cut my losses and moved on…seriously, that can’t be healthy. April and Sebastian know they’re both self sabotaging, but refuse to try harder to be better for each other—that speaks to a pretty unstable foundation for a relationship.

When April said she would give up anything, including her job, for a relationship with Sebastian, that’s when I truly called it quits on this one and skimmed to finish. Why would you do that for a clearly relationship-unfriendly dude?? These two should not have ended up together.

If you’re looking for a better T.L. Swan book to read over this epically hot mess, I would recommend the Miles High Club series which have much better storylines and likable characters.

April meets Sebastian at the coffee shop she works. She makes bad coffee but he comes back for more every day because he wants to see her.
They meet again in other circumstances when April agrees to a job at a gentleman club, and Seb is a member there. They spend the night together and some night after and she is falling for him. Also, he starts to think about her but he doesn't want a relationship. When a misunderstanding happens, she is thrown out of Sebastian's life and she moves to another city.

6 years later, he is now in politics and she ends up working for a company that works for him. They spend some time together and it is obvious that they are starting to develop feelings again. This time, the ex tries to make them some problems because she wants money. Also, he is a public person and they must keep the relationship a secret.
Sebastian has some issues and he cannot open to April and the fight a lot. They are mean to each other and I did not like that :(

Book Review
______________
I have been waiting to read this book for sooo long since we first meet Sebastian in Mr. Masters and Mr. Spencer books. This was such an emotional roller coaster. Just when you think things are going well, bam TL pulls the rug from under you. Lots of twists and suspense mixed in with steam and funny banter. Mr. Garcia turned out to be quite the dirty freak with a filthy mouth.

"𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐤"

Seb is dark, stubborn, damaged and has a sheltered heart. He was definitely a dick at times and I would have slapped him, but he is also a a walking kinky wet dream. And April was such a surprise. At first I thought she might be a bit too quirky or innocent even though she has her own past, but she was hilarious and just as stubborn as Seb. Great match for each other. They let their emotions take over and although their reactions are not the best, they are also real because let's face it we have all been there saying things that we quickly regret.

The story is packed with drama and a couple of twists that will not let you put the book down.
I really loved all the scenes with Spence and Julian- great seeing them back together messing with each other and gossiping like school girls.

I avoid TL Swan's book. It's the last shit I will be reading. I absolutely loathe her most of books(excluding two)

She repeats the same things again and again & AGAIN. (IMO She hates women).
TW: This is not for her fans

1. THE NASTIEST DOUBLE STANDARD—

Romanticising Toxicity—
Heroes enjoy lots of sexual partners when they are separated or not in any terms but when Heroine talks with some guy hero gets all jealous and possessive. Her Heroes calls heroine B1tch, Wh0re(But they are the only wh0res I see)

THE (Always mf double standard)TROPE— Manwhore(complete arshole, toxic AF) Hero and Naive/Virgin Heroine(Stupid/doormat/Pathetic)

2. MMC & FMC—
HERO—
Super toxic af, Disgusting, Manwh0re, controlling( H likes to treat with h like a slave). Uses Endearments are like- Wh0re, b1tch, $lut. Lust after OW and says he is in love with the heroine. TL Swan's Heroes always said –"Heroine shouldn't expect him to go deprived of sex". Selfish. Says he loves heroine but where it is?! Heroes are anything but redeemable. No character development. Never Groveled.

HEROINE—
Acts like Hero's pet. Humiliates in almost every page of books. Utterly Doormat, Pathetic, incredibly stupid, and have no backbone. Always ready to take a hero's shit even if he sleeps with a lot of OWs/cheats. Have stage three Body betraying syndrome. No doubt the author hates Women.

3.
PLOT 0.1— Hero is séx addicted(Being unfaithful in his vein) and Heroine stays celibate(thinks only about hero)

PLOT 0.2— Separation(Where Hero remains unfaithful/Whores around and the heroine stays celibate)

PLOT 0.3— Handle mostly things through rough Sex. Never tries to solve problem or misunderstanding by having a conversation.

PLOT 0.4—The Must(unnecessary) OW drama—(Hero's ex or women he slept with, sometimes Hero even gets nostalgic of the time how the other women used to please him.

4. CLIMAX—
When Hero and Heroine are in commitment Hero daydreams and gets Nostalgic about OWs and misses them. Then go back to heroin.

5. HEA—
This thing is slapped right in front of the readers face. I feel like swallowing hot Lava. I WOULD RATHER CHOKE MY OWN VOMIT NO THANKS!

Imagine my wonder how this book got that many rates. Five stars??? Seriously!!! No Tee from now on

What can I say about this story?

..I need more!! That’s what I can say!
Mr.Garcia is moody, dark, and beautiful!! This book was STEAMY, freaking HAWTTT!

But seriously..
Let me tell you how much I felt for both of them! This whole story I bawled, I felt their hurt, it was like I was sitting right there with them! I was their friend!!!
I’ve been in April’s shoes, trying to fight other people’s demons, while trying to fight your own!!
This book showed a real relationship, the struggle, how things are perfect but things change and demons come back..the only thing you can do is love that person through their pain!!!
Relationship aren’t sunflowers and bubble gum! They take work, we fight, we have drama, but if you love that person you fight to protect them!! That’s what I loved about this story!!!
I’ve been April before..it took time buy here we are 7 years down the road happy as ever, because I didn’t give up on his demons and he didn’t give up on mine! We worked together to make this work!

I really like T.L Swan, she became one of the good writers that i follow religiously. The Takeover still in my favorite book of 2020. So i was also really anticipated to read Mr. Garcia but it was not like her other books.
This book...
It is not good at all.
The connection between the main characters was so mediocre. They only had sex all the time and thought they were in love in the first few chapters.
And then what happens?
A nephew we barely know screws everything up with his delulu thoughts.
I just can't...
THIS DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.
I really wanted to love this book but i have no power to read it till the end.
I am done.
Sorry not sorry.

3,5⭐

Gerçekten ilk iki kitapta okuduğum Sebastian nerde acaba🤔 kendi kitabında resmen hasarlı bir adam ve biraz da Cristian Grey'den esintilerle karşıma çıktı. Sebastian'ımı hiç böyle düşünmemiştim hayal kırıklığına uğradım ama yine de düşük puan vermeye kıyamıyorum🥰

Oh God!! I love love love this book... Mr Gracia was my first ever read from this author so I didn't know what to expect but I was expecting this addictive read for sure...so glad to find another favorite author...
Age gap is my all time favorite troupe...And Sebastian Gracia is a medal for this genre.
That Book Cover...I just can't keep my eyes off it. That cover model makes the perfect Mr Gracia.
The drama in this book...it ceases to stop. It started of as a simple meet cute in Cafe...then turn into a secret gentleman club....Then it turns into a Forbidden work place Romance...
I love the 180 turns this book kept on taking, it never escapes my attention till the last page.

It was so 🔥🥵hot...Sebastian can be a cold fish at times but when he wants...he can be the hottest man on the planet...love the steamy scenes in this book.

I believe this book was a all rounder for me...it ticked everything i need in Romance and so much more...Will recommend this book to every Age gap Romance junkie like me...

I just love this authors books.

The winning combination of humour, drama, steam and relatable characters never fails me.

"I can pretend all I want that there is something between us, but when I see him here, like this, reality hits home. I want to be dominated by him. I want him to use me, and damn it, I want to be fucked"

Mr Garcia may well be the best mc TL Swan has written. I mean, he's the definition of a man on the streets and a freak in the sheets. The dirty talk from this man was 🥵

I loved April and Sebastion together. Their banter had me laughing on numerous ocassions, even some of their arguments were funny.

"Eat this omelette before I make you eat dick"

Pair that with their chemistry together and a couple of twists, this was then made into a page turner that I finished in a day.
