Jacob: My whole life has been grabbing one handhold after another to pull myself up. And I’ve done it. I have everything I ever dreamed of and more. I’ve got a head for business, and I’m successful. I’m even on the board of Greenford University. I float around the rich and successful, and I don’t have to worry. Well, except that, even though I don’t want a relationship, having a partner by my side would get a lot of people off my back. Of course, the best way to make that happen is to buy it, at least in the short term. After all, employing a professional escort to be my boyfriend is perfectly safe, isn’t it?

Max: Supporting myself and my family is tough, especially when I’m trying to go through school. Someday I want my own business, but in the meantime, I need to pay the bills. So yeah, I’m an escort. It’s a job. So when my latest client, Jacob, wanted me to be his fake boyfriend, it was just another job, albeit a little stranger than usual. I wasn’t ready for him to want more, and I definitely wasn’t ready to feel the same…or for it to jeopardize my education…and my future.

Can a cute escort pretending to be his boyfriend make Jacob’s life easier? Can having a rich, hot fake boyfriend give Max what he’s been looking for? Or will old prejudices and hatred ruin everything?

Albo wszystko naraz i jeszcze coś?

Totally Believable

If you're wary of or tired of fake-boyfriend tropes, have I got a deal for you!

This apparent conclusion of a wonderful series has everything going for it because author Romeo Alexander takes his time developing two viable characters and their personal situations before they get to the point that maybe "fake" shouldn't be part of the act.

If you read the blurb you will note that this is rich older guy and opportunistic male escort making a deal that is most likely to go wrong. However, the manner in which rich man Jacob--who is in his early 30s--and escort Max--who is 28--meet, explore and develop a relationship that only later evolves into more than fake is a treat.

There are complications on both sides here including family issues which include Max's sister and her precocious (of course) 5-year-old son. All together these well-developed characters face social and personal challenges here and there that are handled smoothly and when bumps come along efficiently and lovingly.

This is a standalone and well worth the effort--but the whole series is spot on. Grab it.

Can a cute escort pretending to be his boyfriend make Jacob’s life easier? Can having a rich, hot fake boyfriend give Max what he’s been looking for? Or will old prejudices and hatred ruin everything?
Jacob is "new money" in Greenford, and he sits on the University's Executive Board. His best friend Hannah is "old money" in Greenford and also sits on the board. Eric Dran, who appeared in another series by this author, reappears here and is out to make trouble for Jacob.

Max is a 27-year-old university student who lives with his sister Kayla and her five-year-old son, Collin. Max isn't "old money" or "new money", actually he's "very little money" most of the time. He drives a beat-up old car and works part-time as an escort. Jacob decides it would help get and keep the "gold-diggers" away and ease some business situations if he had a fake boyfriend. Everyone that reads romances of any genera know how well that usually works...and you won't be disappointed this time either:)

Max works as an escort to pay the bills. With a family to help support and school to manage, he doesn't have time for anything romantically substantial. Jacob, his latest client has hired his services...but it's not his usual type of "service".... but perhaps pretending to be the boyfriend is just what he needs, and Max is the "total package" that Jacob needs. Playing a 'fake boyfriend' apparently requires wearing many hats. There's the "meeting the family" hat, the "fooling all our friends " hat, the " busy body matchmaker's good intentions" hat, and last but certainly not least...the "potential hot, not-so-fake, love interests" hat. Got to keep those hats straight.

There is so much "on the line" for them and Max, especially, stands to lose so much. Heartfelt feeling will not be enough to save their "no longer fake" relationship. The time to be honest or lose everything soon comes.

I've said it before every time I review one of Romeo Alexander's wonderful, delightfully sweet stories...this author is nothing but fantastic and so very talented at weaving a plot and a romantic adventure that you want to never end...to just continue on and on. What I like most about his books, this one included, is the gentle, considerate manner in which his main characters always treat, and how they just relate, to one another. In this one, Jacob never treats Max like a burden or a bother. He adjusts to a college student's busy schedule and treats Max as his equal, in spite of their very, very different social and financial situations. From the time that Jacob picks Max's picture from the local escort agency's catalog and arranges for an in-person interview...there is charm and respect from that point until the very sweet end. If you like M/M romances...read this series. On second thought...just read anything and everything that bears Romeo Alexander's name, sit back and enjoy!

Boring

I kept waiting for something to happen. Not that all stories have to be non stop excitement but it should be more than nothing. I guess the author was trying to show how the guys accidentally fell in love but it wasn’t very interesting. There was no tension in anything. Even the big drama part was totally transparent and, well, boring.

Also, this author liked to refer to the other character as ‘the man’ instead of using their name and it became very annoying. The man looked up at him….he wrapped his arm around the man….but he loved the man. Whatever. It just bugged me so much because they did it so often. I wish you could tag an author you didn’t want to ever read again like you can follow one’s you like.

Max and Jacob's Story . . .

Jacob Masters sat in the Board meeting that had droned on for 2 hours now. He was glad to step in and finally move them to completion. Then he and Hannah walked outside in the sunshine. She mentioned he hadn’t been dating and his reason was simple. Now that he was wealthy and successful, he had to avoid those after his money without caring about him. And equally daunting was the fact that some dates were overwhelmed by his wealth and lacked their own self-confidence and self-esteem, which did not attract him. Hannah invited him over to her mom’s for dinner, her mom still trying to match the two since they had always been close friends. Hannah suggested he bring a date so her mom could stop ignoring reality. It would make things so much easier for him with unwanted persistent suitors and other such situations as well. So Jacob set up an interview with an escort to check him out.

Max was exactly what Jacob needed. Someone good-looking, personable, believable, and intelligent. He is someone Jacob would have chosen on his own to be his partner. Jacob hires Max as his fake boyfriend, primarily to avoid romantic pressures, but also out of curiosity about what it would be like to have companionship with no strings attached. And Max saw Jacob as a strong, assertive, extremely confident personality, yet without being arrogant or demanding. Max also appreciated his not treating him like a piece of meat or a tool to be used. By the end of their first month together, the two were amazingly comfortable together, and Jacob’s “in control” persona relaxed into a lighthearted, silly, loving man. Max had kissed Jacob at the art gallery when Jacob couldn’t stop laughing at Hannah’s exhibit, thus rescuing him before Hannah ripped his head off. They didn’t need to put on a show for anyone on their casual dates, and they could both be their “real” selves – and each really liked what he saw in the other. It began to feel like they each were eagerly anticipating being with the other now. And their first thought was in what would truly please the other. Their relationship was changing and deepening. Were they still faking this relationship for everyone? If so, why did it feel absolutely real and genuine? And how would they feel when they both had to walk away from each other? But before that could be tested, Max got an email from the university that he was suspended for his conduct and it may lead to expulsion. And as Jacob tried to tell him they would fight it, and as Max said Jacob’s words were sounding like a love confession – Jacob clearly responded, “I’m not in love with you,” as Max turned and walked away.

The main characters are wonderful, easily admired and liked by the reader. Although in different financial situations, Jacob had earned his way in the world and these two could relate. Seeing Max interact and play with his nephew melted Jacob’s heart. Was their new relationship now meaningless? Max had no other options if they expelled him. And now he had a broken heart to deal with as well. Grab your copy and see how something so perfect could self-destruct.

This book is part of a series but can be enjoyed as a stand alone. I really enjoyed this book. It is well written and the story just flows off the page. This is the story of Jacob and Max. Jacob is a rich business man who has a seat on the Board of Directors at Greenford University. He is constantly networking and meeting people to find the deals he wants. He is "new" money and has earned the success on his own. Jacob has no need for a partner or boyfriend. Unfortunately not everyone agrees. After another failed attempt at a matchmaking is thrust upon him; family friends or not he needs to take action. That is where Max comes in. Max is a university student that is struggling to make ends meets. School expenses, upkeep on the house he inherited from his parents when they died and helping his sister and nephew who live with him take up all his time, energy and money. So to supplement their income and help make ends meet; Max is also an escort. Deciding that a fake boyfriend would help keep people out of his business, Jacob hires an escort to fulfill that role. At the interview when they meet, Max is honest in his behaviour and actions. He is also funny, kind and smart. The two hit it off and the contract is signed. I loved how you watch their relationship flourish. First as friends and then as more. Since they started off as employee and employer they both told the truth from the beginning. They weren't trying to impress each other or worry about hurt feelings. It gave both Jacob and Max the freedom to be themselves. Together these two make a great team. And any problems or troubles along the way will be faced together. How can you really ask for anything more? This is a love story that you will really enjoy.

God, I'm sorry. I don't normally leave a review this early in a book, but this is so highly rated, and from the reviews, I was expecting something well-written and believable.

I love a fake dating trope, even when the set-up is a bit of a stretch. But spending thousands on an escort to pretend to be your boyfriend just so that you don't get asked out on occasion??? That is his reasoning? No PR thing, no trying to appease family or make an ex jealous. He just can’t be bothered to say "no thank you" when someone tries to set him up?

Probably gonna dnf at 21% because I really cannot stand that this super successful confident man is going to hire a fake boyfriend because he's just so damn irresistible that this is the only way he can ever find peace from his relentless suitors.

And the writing. Oh my god. It is a challenge to understand. I had to put it down almost immediately because it was giving me a headache trying to follow the characters' exposition dumping and tangled trains of thought. It got better after that first chapter, but it's still very clunky and awkward prose. The author needs to start reading their books outloud or something. Or hire a better editor.

Speaking of the first chapter, it's boring as hell. I should have just put the book down then. Why would the author start a book on a dull boardroom finance meeting? Jesus. At least show him being buried under all of these desperate men trying to constantly hump his leg or whatever his issue is.

Wow this is a slow burn
I am a humongous fan of Romeo Alexander but I have to be honest and say this one really took me some getting into. I think it’s got a very slow beginning but you have to stick with it because it turns out to be a great read.
Jacob is getting fed up of everyone trying to set him up and when his best friend Hannah suggested he bring a going to family meeting and it started him thinking. So he went to find himself a young man who would pretend to be his fake boyfriend.
Max has got a lot on his plate. He lost his parents when he is younger leaving him, his sister and nephew alone in the world. He was Attending Greenford University work to part-time job but also every now and again worked as an Escort. When he meets Jacob there’s just something about them it’s like an instant attraction. He agrees Being his fake boyfriend.
This is a really slow burn about how spending time with somebody and turn into something so much more. They just seem to fulfil each other it’s actually very beautiful read the little twist to the end.

Jacob clawed his way to the top of the ladder of success. Now that he's made it, dating has become non-existent. A different kind of worry has emerged- wondering if any potential partners would want him for love or status. The trade off of love for money and unhappiness, isn't exactly the way to go. Tired of people questioning him about his love life, he hires an escort.

Seems harmless... maybe?

Max works as an escort to pay the bills. With a family to support and school to manage, he does not have time for anything romantically substantial. His latest client procures his services. Pretending to be one's boyfriend is just what needs. Max has the total package Jacob needs.

Playing a 'fake boyfriend' apparently required many hats. Meeting family, fooling friends, busy body matchmakers and potential love interests.

So much is on the line for them. Max stands to lose so much. Inward feeling will not be enough to save this "no longer fake" relationship. Time to be honest or lose it ALL.

Another beautifully romantic love story! This one is an opposites attract slow burn with a young wealthy business man who learns about love from his fake boyfriend escort! I loved that Jacob and Max were both young adults who were very likable but they were just from very different families and life situations. We get both of their POV's so get to know them very personally and cannot help but start routing for them to get together for real!! They grow close during their business relationship with just a few kisses here and there "for appearances" as Jacob told himself he would not expect Max to want him just for their arrangement. I found Jacob's insecurities about relationships due to past experiences with gold diggers or intimidation due to his wealth endearing. He really was humble! I received an ARC of this book and I recommend you read to see if Max finally makes his move and claims Jacob for himself!

I read fake relationship romances before and this one was not too different than others but it was enjoyable. A little slow to get into in the beginning but once the first meet up with Max and Jacob, things started to get interesting. Started off real platonic, then friendly then more than friendly. A real slow burn romance. The guys getting to know each other by going on dates made it more realistic. I don't know if I really believe Max was an actual "escort" due to his demeanor/personality so I think him getting with Jacob was an easy fit. Both were really two cool dudes...Max a little more confident/assertive but all in all they were real compatible as a couple. This was not real angsty but we got a little steam towards the end...more relationship building than anything else...which was nice. The love confession was sweet and their HEA was worth finishing the book for.

As fake dating romances go, this one was mercifully free of angst around the “wait a minute, these feelings are real” part of the story, and I loved that more than I could say. Both Max and Jacob are nuanced, sympathetic characters who share a deep love and devotion to their families-- they’re both good people, and it’s nice to see them find happiness with minimal angst. Since they are so well adjusted, and since Jacob has both endless wealth and plenty of business and social capital, the relationship obstacle, when it comes their way, is a bit on the underwhelming side, but all in all the straightforward, low-to-no drama trajectory of their story was really satisfying, and there were some great supporting characters.

When a good thing comes into your life, grab it! Jacob, had fought all his life to 'make it'. Once he did, he realize the 'world' expected him not to walk alone. Max, was dragging a heavy load of responsibility and found being an escort an excellent solution. Jacob and Max, started out squirly, but they grew into something good, something real. Mr Alexander has a smooth, empathetic talent to pen characters and circumstances that make them likeable, believable and fascinating. Max and Jacob fit together and make the perfect form. They get to know each other through the business arrangement and grow into good friends. Is there more? Does Jacob find happiness? Is Max able to resolve his responsibilities? The supporting characters are fun and keep the story lively. Absolutely love this series. Well done! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Jacob has brought himself up from nothing to be a high action, high life, business man with fingers in many pies, but that gets in the way of any long-term relationship. Max works and goes to school with another part-time job as an Escort to try to keep himself, his sister, and his 5 year-old nephew with a roof over their heads and food in their bellies. When he get's an offer to be Jacob's long-term "fake" boyfriend to keep the hounds off of his heels, it seems to good to be true. They hit it off professionally, personally, all is well. Or too well..... I hate giving spoilers but I will tell you 1. HEA, 2. this book is Definitely worth the read!!!!, and 3. if you read it and enjoy it, definitely check out some more of Romeo's books. They are all fantastic!! :D

Jacob is tired of people trying to match him up. He thinks hiring a boyfriend would be just the ticket to get matchmakers off his back. Max was delighted to fill the role. He goes to school fulltime, works part time and on the side takes occasional jobs as an escort. He and Jacob hit it off right away and after a few months, the two men find themselves wanting more. But not everyone wants them to have a happily ever after and they will have to work to change a business relationship into a personal one.

Romeo Alexander is gifted with the ability to pen stories that are truly feel-good ones. Reading and enjoying this story will leave you with a smile. The two men are perfect for each other and watching them realize that made for great reading. Romeo Alexander is on my auto read list.

“It hadn’t been a fairy tale romance, but it was their romance”

Jacob worked his way up to riches and does not like the fact that his friends keep trying to set him up with someone. He is tired of trying to deflecting the men they throw his way. Jacob comes up with a plan to hire an escort for awhile in hopes of stopping his friends on setting him up on dates.
Max goes to college but also has to help out his family with the bills. He has a part time job but it isn’t enough to pay the bills. So he works for an escort service which helps to pay the bills much easier..
When Jacob hires Max the two of them become fast friends and their relationship begins to take a turn towards romance.
A must read for those who enjoy not only enjoy romance but also Romeo Alexander’s books.

This is a romantic, entertaining and sweet story. When Jacob gets tired of everyone trying to set him up with dates, he decides to hire someone to play his boyfriend. Max works as an escort occasionally to help support his sister and nephew while he goes to college and works part-time at another job. Jacob picks Max from the agency and they agree to dating, and nothing else. The more time they spend together, the more they like each other, and both start to develop feelings. Jacob is a serious, gutsy and determined guy with a dry sense of humor. Max is a family driven, goofy and amusing guy. They click so well together, even in the beginning when they were unsure about how long the relationship would last. It's a really heartwarming story with just a bit of drama thrown in.

Two lives become one

Max works as an escort to help pay the bills. He lives with his sister and her son in the family home.

Jacob is a new money man, working his way through the upper crust in Greenford. He decides he needs to use the services of an escort so people will stop trying to set him up. The agency Max works for puts them together and so starts their 'relationship'.

The more they work together, the more things change. Will they be able to keep going the way they are, or will their ruse be discovered?

It was an interesting addition to the lives of the men and women of Greenford. Looking forward to the next chapter.

I read the books out of order, and it didn't hurt the stories at all. Did not have any trouble following along.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It was meant as a business relationship to solve Jacob's problems but doesn't stay that way. During the interview, Jacob likes how Max is. As they spend more time together, the closer they get and the lines blur. The business one ends and the true relationship starts. It takes a bruised ego that almost wrecks Max's dreams for them to admit their real feelings. Jacob stops the plot against Max and they continue their relationship happily. Max realizes his dreams as well. I liked how love snuck up on Jacob and Max.

Escort is a very well done fake relationship romance. I especially liked that there was minimal angst around recognising that their feelings were real and they wanted more. Both Max and Jacob are well-developed and sympathetic characters who are easy to love. Jacob, especially, I found to be humble and honest in his insecurities, and it’s the sweetest thing as learns about love with Max. Since I wasn’t frustrated by either character - but, rather, found them to be extremely endearing - their fairly smooth journey towards their HEA is very satisfying. A beautiful opposites-attract story that will have you cheering all the way through!

Max and Jacob clicked in so many ways that it does not take long for a genuine connection to sneak up on them - though it does take a while for them to realize it. They are likeable characters who have a slow building romance before adding some steam to the mix and heading towards a loving HEA with a few hiccups along the way. Some supporting characters are great and enhance the story which has minimal angst.
The ending fell a bit flat for me, it was nice but nothing special and I would have liked for Max and Jacob to say those three little words.
Overall an entertaining story.

This was an awesome book. I loved Max and Jacob. I was hooked right away and wish it didn't have to end. I loved the connection and the chemistry between Max and Jacob. These two were opposites but they were each other's other half; ying and yang. I loved the drama, steam, tension, comedy, intrigue, slow burn aspect and the really sweet HEA that this book had to offer. I truly can not wait for the Club Nocturne series and I really hope Dan gets his match soon! I would highly recommend this book, series, and Mr. Romeo as a must read MM author!

I loved this latest book in the Greenford series. Jacob and Max were great characters, very different from each other, but they fitted well together. When Jacob hires Max as his fake boyfriend to avoid romantic attachments, you just know there's going to be a hitch in the plan. Their best friend's, Hannah and Dan were great side characters and I enjoyed their interactions a lot. Max's nephew Colin was adorable and his sister a great support. This was a really enjoyable romance.

A calm, easy-to-read Pretty (Wo)man type story with lots more fun than angst. The gradual growth of both characters and their feelings, the simple yet pleasant plot, and the confrontation with the "problematic moment" in a reasonable, intelligent, non-whingey manner makes for a fun tale. In the words of one of the characters - "I don’t think you can have love without a bit of eye-rolling thrown in for good measure.”

Great Final Book in this Series

Escort is a great end book to this series. Two people coming together for a fake relationship and maybe 🤔 just maybe finding more than either of them wanted or expected. That’s for a great read. The whole series has been worth the reading. I started off reading Romeo Alexander’s Men of Fairlake series and then jumped all the way back to the beginning of his work. You can tell the growth from one series to the ending but so far it’s all been great reading. Enjoy! ❤️

I have loved everything I have read from this author; however, for some reason this one just didn’t do it for me. It took me forever to get into this book. However I did love the ending and the epilogue was a perfect end to this book. I think this is the first book I’ve read from this author that I didn’t love from start to finish, but I still enjoyed meeting these characters and getting to see their romance play out! With that said I cannot wait to start the spin-off series and see how that plays out!

This was a sweet story. Wealthy business man that needs a boyfriend so lets hire an escort. This is the perfect idea, or so he thought. These two work well together and one learns how to love from the other. If you are wanting to see who is the one that teaches the other to love then this is a book you want to grab and read.

This was a very satisfying slow burn mm romance book to read. There is no major angst except a bit near the end. I am pretty sure that the client rarely falls for the escort/prostitute in real life but I love reading stories about this idea. Romeo Alexander writes this type of book very well and this delightful book is a terrific example of that writing.

Jacob and Max

Max was a full time student and sometimes an escort to help his sister and nephew. Jacob was a self made millionaire and on the board at the university. He needed a fake boyfriend for a few events so he hired Max as his escort but it turned out to be real. Had trouble with one of the board members but Jacob took care of it. Great book! Can’t wait to read the next book!

Seriously loved Jacob and Max. Max is working as an escort to support himself and his family while trying to get thru school. Jacob is rich, on the board at Greenford University and needs a fake boyfriend. I loved the dates! I loved the opposites attract troupe and this one was sooo good, sooo romantic!
