He is also the creator of Prison Funnies and Monster Cops.

I'm loving how this series is going so far. I've really enjoyed all of the different stories collected in this anthology series, now that the Outsiders story has concluded I'm intrigued to see what new stories will be in the next issue!

Red Hood: 5/5
This was my favorite installment in the Red Hood story so far, I'm really invested in this one. I'm just a sucker for Jason/Bruce dynamics and that is basically the soul of this story. I also think this story has balanced the flashbacks to young Jason with the ongoing plot really well, and it adds a lot to the book. I'm really loving this one.

Lady Shiva: 3.5/5
I appreciated this story. I really like Lady Shiva and I'm always happy to see her pop up. I don't have much else to say about this one, it was short and sweet. I really liked the ending, and I'm obsessed with the idea of Steph, Cass, and Duke going mini golfing every Sunday.

Outsiders: 3.5/5
This has been a decent story throughout these first three issues. It is nothing to write home about but I think it was fun, and it was a nice setup for the upcoming (?) Outsiders series. The little teaser at the end telling us that more is coming in the fall has me excited to find out who the fifth member of the team will be and to see how this situation with Tatsu's mother in law will play out. I had a feeling this story was mostly a teaser for an upcoming series and this confirmed those suspicions. This story suffered from a lack of page time but it was still fun and as a fan of all of these characters it was worth reading. Looking forward to seeing what DC will do with the Outsiders next.

Grifter: 4.5/5
Grifter has been the 2021 DC surprise for me. Ever since reading his Future State story I've been really into him as a character and this story has just amplified that. I am thoroughly enjoying this ongoing story and I'm excited to see what will happen next. This story has the perfect balance of humor, action, and intrigue. I'm also obsessed with every Batman/Grifter or Bruce/Cole interaction we get. I'm super here for this one, I think each installment of this one just gets better.

Overall, for an anthology series I think Urban Legends has been really great. I've enjoyed all the stories it has collected, even if some of them aren't the greatest thing I've read. I haven't found any of them to be duds yet. I'm still really enjoying the format of having 3 ongoing stories with one standalone story each issue. I hope they stick to that in the upcoming issues! I'm really looking forward to the next issue and seeing what else this series will have for us.

Cheer (3 of 6): Still the main reason to read Urban Legends.

Death Wish: There's enough emotional substance here where this could have been its own multi-part story. Instead we get 3 parts of The Caretaker and a very rushed attempt at character development in Death Wish. I think what makes this all the worse is that the one-off structure would have worked extremely well if Shiva and Bruce actually sat down, had dinner, and talked about their kids amicably.

The Caretaker (3 of 3): This for real sucked. Urban Legend's first full arc is over and it was lousy from start to finish. There are some interesting ideas throughout, but the pacing is god awful. At least there's always room for improvement?

The Long Con (3 of 5): There's a good story here, I'm just not sure it should be a 5 part arc in Urban Legends.

Grifter: 4.25 ⭐ Plot keeps thickening--I'm really digging this run. I've always enjoyed Grifter's appearances in other series, but this might be a new favourite character and series for me.
