A pandemic has plunged the country into complete chaos, leaving the strong to prey upon the weak for survival. People infected with the virus are animalistic and insane, lashing out and killing anyone they come across. Civilization is in ruin and there is only one rule: Do what you must to survive another day.

Samantha plots revenge on the group of raiders that had kidnapped her, the group that her husband had fallen in with. They were the ones that corrupted him, turning him against her. They took him from her, and they needed to pay. Finding herself staring into the abyss, she knows there is no going back. Uncaring of whether she lives or dies, Samantha sets her plan into motion.

Is there redemption for someone who has fallen so far from what they once were, or is there only destruction?

Very interesting

This is a different sort of genre for me. I haven't read too many dystopian post apocalyptic novels. This I was very interesting and quite an adventure

It's ok

It's OK, but the drama is so predictable and illogical at the same time. Who leaves the relative safety of their well stocked home to travel the interstates of the USA, dodging human eating people and highway men trying to kill and rob people to just "clear the air and apologize " ? I sure as hell wouldn't.

good ending

I’m giving it 5 stars only because the ending was perfect. It was hard for me to get through this because of all the back and forth with Sam. This was a good read. Definitely better then the 2nd book. I will not give spoilers for this one because it does have so many surprises.

Fantastic story line!!

I am a avid reader of apocalypse books. This is a awesome storyline and its way different from the usual. Different in a great way! Well worth the time to read the whole trilogy. Loved it!!

Blah!

I kept reading this series to see how it would end. I kind of regret it. Book 3 was a entire book of Sam, the main character, feeling sorry for herself. I didn’t like it; however, the writing was clean, clear, and precise. It read well, but it was boring as heck.

Damn good!

Stephen A. Kennedy has moved up to one of my top 15 authors I like to follow. His characters have become friends and his ability to immerse the reader into the environment is tip notch.
