Mia is a single mom from Arizona who has been stuck in an on again off again relationship for the past fourteen years. Knowing she has to get away from her ex Andreas(Dre) to fully be free of him, she packs up their thirteen-year-old son and moves states away to Sammamish, Washington.
Her intent to start a new life and better things for her and her son Miklo are the first things on her mind. But when they arrive at their new home to be greeted by four hot new neighbors? She can only hope for it to be a good sign she is on the right track. Or it will at least make things a lot more fun!
Can Mia mend the broken pieces of her heart, or will Dre continue to hold onto it? And what role will her new neighbors Jayson, Roman, Jesse, and Cade play in her new start?
Broken Pieces is book one in the Leaving You, Finding Them series. It’s a fast burn contemporary RH with possible triggers of emotional abuse, swearing, and adult content 18+ appropriate. Book one will have a small cliffhanger to bring on the progression of the story.
Tammi Lynn is an Arizona native and has three boys and one girl, one human and three feline. When she's not working at her full time job or writing she can be found in the backyard in a hammock reading, going on an adventure with her son or just chilling and hanging out with friends and family.
She's knew to the Author and publishing world and is hoping to write many more books to come in a few different genres. Having always wanted to write a book and taking so long to do it she is a firm believer in never giving up on your dreams, they might just be delayed in coming to you.
I had such high hopes for this book, but it didnt work for me
I'm sure there will be plenty of people that will enjoy this, the plot is refreshing to what i normally read and i really went into it with a open mind. It just didnt work for me personally and the main reason is Mia and not for the reason you might think.
Ok so my disclaimer, i do not have any children and have never been in a situation like hers but with that being said
The best bits of the book is them spending time together doing mundane things which wasn't alot cause everything turn into them having sex. Dre being that a-hole that he is, made the book interesting, made Mia seem more likable.
Like i said some people would love this there's alot of potential but just something missing for me.
Decent storyline and characters, but the book has so much potential and be much better with the benefit of a heavy couple rounds of editing and proofreading. This whole thing needs a red pen like you wouldn’t believe.
Good realistic read, not a lot of drama just a lot of real life. Great story line, I do wish that Dre would have shown up while her Mom was there tho. Cany wait to get to the next one.
Broken Pieces by Tammi Lynn is Book 1 in this new authors series, Leaving You, Finding Them and it’s a great start, it’s such an enjoyable read. The main players in Broken Pieces are a little older which was a positive to the book. The MC Mia is sweet as, just trying to survive a long messy breakup as a single mom and the guys we meet - Roman, Jayson, Jesse and Cade are super duper and hot as! Dre is a foul but a great villain in this book. The interactions between Mia, Miklo and her neighbours are sweet, the relationships develop at a good pace and the ending leads on to book 2. Certainly worth a read!
Full disclaimer, I only ever read reverse harem books. Before falling in love with this genre, I only ever read historical romance. The thing that I has annoyed me recently about the the genre is the age of the female lead. As a woman in her 30's, I don't want to read about a teenager. Someone whose life is in a different place then mine. For me that makes the story unrelatable. I loved this story the characters are totally relatable. I have read over a hundred books like this and this my first review. And I cannot wait to read the next installment. I hope more authors will write books for women like me. This book is in my top 3.
I'm a sucker for contemporary RH and boy did the author write exactly what I like!
An outstanding plot, a-ma-zing characters and excellent development. And my favorite? Miklo! The connection Mia and her son have is heartwarming. It does end on a pretty big cliffhanger and while I usually don't mind taking a short break from a story, this book pulled me in so deeply that I will be suffering from the hangover.
This book is soooo good! I don't even know where to start. I love Mia, I love every guys. Jesse is hilarious, I just want to adopt him. I hate Dre with all my heart. The story is awesome, there is just enough sexy time and not too much.
I stop here and go grab the 2nd book right now. I looooove this serie!
I'm beyond words.. this book had me hooked from the beginning to end! It emotionally gutted me but at the same time had me laughing. I absolutely fell in love with all the characters! And could relate to the MC, Mia. This book was perfectly written and I cannot wait for book 2! Definitely 5 star and a must read!
Okay honestly I didn't know what to expect. This is a new author and I found the book randomly when I was lookong for a different book. This story is beautifully written and had me both laughing out loud and on the verge of tears. I loved all the guys in this story, Mia though, is someone that I can relate to on a personal level. I can not wait for the rest of this story!
Super storyline! I can kind of relate to Mia having been in a toxic/physically abusive relationship before. Wish I had 4 incredible men to help me through the fallout. It’s hot and steamy. It’s emotional and will tug at your feels. It definitely has some LOL moments. Ends in a slight cliffy.
I haven’t read a book from Tammi, so I decided to give this one a try! I was not disappointed! The characters are all in-depth and the writing is very good! I am so excited two to come out!!
I didn’t know what to expect when I started this book but from the first chapter I was hooked. Now I can’t wait to see what happens to Mia and her boys. Hopefully without any damage from her crazy ex Dre.
Cannot wait for the next one! The characters are wonderful and you really fall in love with them except Dre, what a douche, I hope Cade flattens him! Dump him for good Mia, he is not worthy of you or Bubbs!
This book I very much enjoyed it not often I can read about abuse and it not be physical. Most time I don’t really think about mental abuse. This book really shows it. And I love the characters and can’t wait for the next book.
If there was ever a female lead who deserved to find love, it is Mia. For years, Mia’s heart strings were being pulled and played with by the puppeteer who is her son Miklo’s father. I’m so proud of her for moving her and Miklo states away to get away from his toxicity. Fate ends up landing her next door to four men who will show her how she should have always been treated. Her and her men have this pure everlasting love which brought tingles all over my body.
Cade, Jayson, Roman, and Jesse are all unique and oh so swoon worthy. They each have different personalities which I adore. Cade is dark and brooding, Jayson is sweet and caring, Roman is the protector, and Jesse is charming and funny. They are the perfect men for Mia, and I love how they care for her and her son, they step up and become the father’s that Miklo needed. It was swoon worthy and turned my heart into molten lava.
This series brought out all sorts of different emotions in me. I laughed, cried, got mad, and swooned. The steam was next level, it was top tier. I had to fan myself because it got so hot. One of my favourite things about this trilogy, was how Mia made the time to spend alone time with each of her men. To me it made her relationship with her men more meaningful, and I felt a deeper connection between them. It was beautiful and it brought tears to my eyes. I’m so happy I picked into my bones.
That was HOT! I really really like the guys and how they all bring something different to the table (guess that's the point, right ;)). Having said that, Mia is not my favourite fmc. For 34 yo, she's kinda childish. I got passed it, but my biggest problem is the story of how she gets with the guys...or lack thereof. There is no conversation, no doubts...things just happen and and everyone just goes with it. The way it is presented to the reader makes Mia look like a hypocrite! For 14 years, she's been pining after a man who could not commit only to her. Then she goes off to finally get her shit together and meets those 4 hunky guys and proceeds to have a relationship with them. At no point does she express any inner turmoil if she is doing the same thing, Dre was doing to her. I would honestly expect that especially because they don't have a conversation with her that they're all okay with sharing her. Besides this missing piece of the storyline, I did enjoy the "Broken pieces" very much!
What an awesome, brilliantly funny, hot mess. Ok the book isn't a hot mess but the fmc is bless her. I absolutely loved it and it was so refreshing and had some proper real life elements to it. though completely fictional, I read it almost like the author had lived that life, the initial part of the book is believable and feels like real life. The level of emotional abuse that both the fmc and her child as he totally suffers to not just because his dad is a step in when he feels like it kinda dad but he also has to pick up the pieces after his mum. It was hilarious, I liked nothing more than picturing the female character in her panda onesie or with her for fox sake mug.I also enjoyed that it was set over a decent amount of time. I did get annoyed with her internal monologue of how did made her feel after every phone call but that would be my one and only gripe.
First up, I LOVE this storyline. Single mum of a teen, that's more like it! 4 hot men 🔥 Douchebag ex lover. It makes a huge change to the YA/college trope. I loved that the men all had their own histories that affect their personalities. I loved that the main character has an amazing family who supported her throughout. I hope one day my kids grow up to be as accepting of others like Miklo has ❤
The reason this book didn't score higher stars is unfortunately the editing. There were so many mistakes, names were misspelled even within the same paragraph, sentences that despite how many times I read it just didn't make sense. It was very nearly a DNF!
I did spot on download that Amazon has flagged it as an issue and I believe if the author was to re-edit, it has the potential to be amazing!
DNF 54% This wom is a mess and not the good kind there doesn't seem to be anything redeemable about her. She's not a great mom her kid seems to be an afterthought most of the time and she continues to drink regularly despite having had problems with alcohol in the past. Now I don't mind my heroine's being a mess but they generally have a good reason for it or are trying to get better. Also the rh was too fast burn for me they never even discussed it before a jumping into bed together and seemed totally fine with it, I mean wouldn't you at least be curious as to why four adult men are living together in a house. I'm also not a fan of the time jump especially in a short book.
I read a lot of RH but this is my first time reading this author which can be hit or miss. I'm thrilled to say this was a hit! I typically gravitate to fantasy with RH but this was a fantastic and well done modern romance. The characters are well fleshed out and relatable. The story captures you. I quickly began to root for the h (Mia) and her son. The drama in the book is very realistic. I had quite a few emotions pulled out of me with this read. I'm excited it's a series so there is more to look forward to.
It’s a medium pace / hawt-burn contemporary RH. Our main FMC, Mia, has been emotionally abused for most of her adult life by the man she loves, but to save herself and son she must start fresh, a clean slate.
You can see the personal growth of Mia and her love interests, the neighbours, I caught myself smiling a lot throughout the book. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the next book as this one ends on a cliffhanger
Such a great story!! I wasn’t sold based on the blurb but OMG this book sucked me in right away! I loved Mia’s story with an emotionally abusive baby daddy for her 12 year old son. She decides enough is enough and moves across the country for a fresh start and get 4 fresh starts with her sexy new neighbors. Love a strong female character who owns her sexuality and has a realistic push/pull relationship with her ex. Ends on a cliffhanger.
This is an amazing book! It is both heartbreaking and heartwarming! These amazing men help Mia put her pieces back together, while she unknowingly does the same for them! But you know it can’t all be rainbows! What happens when the past keeps coming back to haunt? I loved this book and cannot wait to read the next book!
Mia is a single mom that is trying to get away from a toxic relationship. I so appreciate the concept of this book and that the author makes it clear abuse is abuse!
It was emotional and drew me in with the swoony, put your heart back together vibe. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Great one. Realistic and no drama in it (like „I love the guy, no I don’t love the guy, does he love me…“ BS like this). Woman in her 30, not 17 great too. Smexy as hell, there are some scenes that get your panties drenched 😅 don’t read it in public Ladys 😳 (hello threesome on the couch with the two hottie brothers while Cade was commanding and ehhhm working himself up… oh my 😰🥳) so and now I am out for Book 2. 🤞ps: this funny scene while they are playing „Spoon“ (Nope its not what you think 😅) brings me tears so hard was I laughing. My husband thought I went crazy… maybe I am 😂
Such a heartwarming story about a single mom doing what is best for her and her son Miklo. Who knew it would lead to living next to 4 hunks that need just as much TLC as Mia and Miklo do? I can't wait to read the conclusion to this amazing story!!
Good book, it seemed to be lacking that little bit extra though. Wasn’t a fan of how quickly Mia started sleeping with the guys, especially with what she had been through. Needs editing, the author doesn’t know which there/their/they’re or to/too to use.
I love this mc and the fact that she has a kid. I love how her relationships developed with the guys next door. There is definitely some steamy scenes in this book. Ends on a bit of a cliffhanger.
