"A strong man doesn't have to be dominant toward a woman. He doesn't match his strength against a woman weak with love for him. He matches it against the world." -Marilyn Monroe
Dymitri won’t let the past destroy his future with his broken mate. When the sorceress Marienne foretells my mate is a human, and she is in trouble, I don’t think. I fly. Fly to the human world to hunt those men who have stolen her and would sell her into Hell itself. No-one will stand between me and my mate.
Sarah gave up on waiting for someone to rescue her, until a knight in shining scales arrived. When a strange man offers to save me from an impossible fate, I’m terrified. Especially when he turns into a dragon before my eyes. It can’t be real. I have to be dreaming. But my sister is hurt, and they offer to save her too. So with my heart in my throat, I take the chance and leap. Letting the dragons obliterate all in their path.
Dymitri flys Sarah to his castle in the snow, hellbent on proving his worth. But Sarah’s scars run as deep as Dymitri’s. They’ve both seen their fair share of battles, and both have a sad story to tell. Sarah is slow to trust, but Dymitri won’t give in. But a human is not meant to survive the cold of the North, and when Sarah tries to escape, it may be the end, for them both.

From the top. - nothing but spoilers. You have been warned.
The rush to get to the human world, nice. Getting to the farm house buck naked still funny. Forgetting to repay the couple considering he was in the human world a book or so earlier is an oversight I’m willing to forgive if you can tell me how that other trip went. Like where was their exit point, did they take a carriage into the real world? Do they know about Uber? Make that trip not some throwaway line that carries some weight and I’ll give you that he just forgot.
The car ride there was decently done. Spooky house. Good. Good. They break in and they find slightly strung out, if just not just beaten down, girls. Fine. But how does Dymitri, who has never been to the human world, know that the white powder on the table in front of them is a drug? Never mind an illegal one?
Then we get something new. He can sense where his mate is. He was only told that he would find her here and every other dragon to date has only reacted to their mate after they see them for the first time. But he senses her before they meet? Ok. Let’s put a pin in that.
Dymitri’s knowing takes them downstairs after they freed the girls and set the house ablaze. They find two girls chained to a wall and his mate is still awake and he feels it in his gut this is her and he has all the emotions that we expect including needing to get her to safety.
So, if he was acting like this all the time why didn’t he realize that his brother was feeling nothing the entire time? Ok, we can say he was too caught up in what was going on with himself and ok, I can buy that if the author didn’t make a point of him checking in with his brother, constantly, even if it was just with a look.
Moving on. Each brother has a girl and they are taking the girls back to their home while what’s his name is staying back for a few reasons. I have nothing to say about that.
Moving on.
I have nothing bad to say about Dymitri’s interaction with his mate, or her’s with him. That was done well. He gave her time. Held back telling her some truths until she had to know and she took it all very well. One small freak out that I’m going to give her and she recovered very nicely.
Now during all this we are having quick interactions between the brothers and I like how near the start Dymitri told him that perhaps she needs to be awake for him to feel something towards her. I don’t buy it since in other books just seeing the other person, with or without them seeing you has set things off. But he’s his brother and doesn’t want to take away his hope. But he should have told him that perhaps she wasn’t the one for him and they could talk to the witch again.
But instead he’s going through what he’s going through while Dymitri and his mate connect and then the sister wakes up and because of the dark place he slowly slipped into, he loses it and the girl runs from the castle and into a cold world without even getting some shoes never mind a jacket. Now this part was something I was dreading reading again and I’m actually happy that I remembered it incorrectly. Because now I like his mate better. She didn’t do what I thought she did. She was actually trying to get her sister to stay and then go back, and she only stayed with her because of reasons. Most were decent ones. Personally, I wouldn’t run out into the cold underdressed and then stick with you when I know you are being unreasonable. Scared fine, but I draw the line at freezing to death with you.
Now the situation that has caused the girls to flee and tun themselves into icicles is past and their rescue begins. Now you remember what we put a pin in earlier? Well it happens again but different at the same time. They are flying over head, in a blizzard looking for two small females in the dark and Dymitri sees a light. A look in his brother’s direction makes it clear, somehow, that he doesn’t see the light, but he goes to it anyway and of course it’s the girls.
Now you would think this might be brought up, to someone. But nope never mentioned again. What else is not mentioned? When the girls were freezing their body parts off, his mate realized something that I knew from the start when I first read this book? Why didn’t anyone ask if she had another sister? Why didn’t she talk about her other sister all this time? Ok, maybe she and her sister aren’t that great at keeping in touch so isn’t brought up that much. Fine. She woke up and had to let her mate know that she wasn’t leaving ever again. Fine.
But during the apology from the brother she didn’t remember that while out there this came to her? Couldn’t the sister ask why they thought she would be the mate to the brother? Did no one in the three days since that cold night ask why the prediction was so wrong? No one??
Then, at the last moment when the other sister is going back to the human world, they remember they have another sister and say her name and still nothing really clicked? How could it not click?
Then I just disagreed with the whole last chapter. All that should not have happened. That half star is starting to feel generous.
I could have finished it this weekend, but I was not looking forward to the ending at all or starting the next book. But I have made it. This far.
You may think that I hated this book, but I don’t, it just messes with me on some points that range from wtf to how on earth.
For me. This is how the book comes across to me. Now you may think that I may be mixing up my feelings for the book with what I feel for the situations and I honestly thought about that. I have read books with bad situations in them and I didn’t hate or disliked the books.
So you will have to make up your own mind about this book when it comes to reading it. If you got this far and liked the books, you may be more happy with this than I am.
But at this point this review is what you read after you have read the book to see how someone else experienced the same thing or for you to see that you weren’t the only one to not think this story was the bee’s knees.
As for the next story, if you had a bad funny feeling from the last chapter of this book, brace yourself. If you had no problem with the last chapter, I would suggest some tissue for the next book reading.

This is book four of the Fire and Ice series and tells the story of the two brothers, Dymitri and Lucian, sons born to the wrong mother, but from the old king, and never allowed to grace the castle. They had lived in exile in the frozen wastelands, but after their father’s death, they were brought to the castle to live there with their half-brother King Damon and his wife Cass. When the sorceress Marienne told them both that their fated mates were human sisters and that they were in danger, King Stavrok led them to a portal to the human realm and accompanied them to a safe house, before helping them find their mates. Sarah and her younger sister Nadia had been out having fun at a club and were abducted by some strange men and held prisoner before they were going to be sold off as slaves or worse. Nadia had tried to get out and was knocked unconscious for her efforts. Sarah blamed herself for her sister’s predicament, having urged her to stay out with her, and has all but given up hope that they will her be rescued. That is until the three dragon shifters turn up at the isolated home and free some women who were made to package up drugs and then the sisters who were down in the basement. Dymitri turned into a dragon in front of her to take down the ceiling, but in her weakened state she thinks she must have been dreaming. The dragons save both sisters and help the other women to flee, before returning through the portal back to the palace. The brothers both have deep scars from how their father treated them and the harsh conditions they were forced to survive in. Neither thought they would have a fated mate, but Dymitri knows immediately that Sarah is his mate, Lucian is not so sure, maybe the link is affected by the fact Nadia is not awake. He is warned to take matters very slowly, as this will be a huge change in the sister’s lives and finding out about dragons as well could be too much for them. Sarah and Dymitri slowly get to know each other as they wait for Nadia to awaken, exploring the surrounding gardens and village. The castle is in the far North and a frozen land, far too cold for a human to cope with unless appropriately attired. He even reveals his dragon to her, and while she slightly freaked out, the eyes told her who it really was inside. Matters do not go as well for Lucian and after Nadia wakes up, he flies off in a rage, leaving Nadia terrified and wanting to run. But the frozen North is not a place for unprepared humans to survive in and the brothers must find them before they perish. Sarah has a huge decision to make, go back to the human world with her sister, or stay in this place with her fated mate, who she is beginning to realise is the man for her, dragon included! Marienne has never been wrong about her visions before and there is a slight twist to the tale regarding Lucian’s fated mate and the next book will cover that part of the tale. I look forward to seeing Lucian gain some happiness and love, maybe even smile a bit! I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
A sorcerer tells dragon shifter Prince Dimitri that his mate is a human in the human realm, and she and her sister need to be rescued. When Dimitri sees Sarah, he knows immediately that she is his fated mate. But how can he explain to her that he can change from a man into a dragon and that they are now in a different realm than the human realm without scaring her away. Dimitri is kind and loving and protective of Sarah. He offers her the chance to choose him and not be forced into anything against her will. Eventually, although she worries about leaving her sister and her family, Sarah realizes what is important to her and what she would be losing if she doesn't take a chance. I enjoyed reading this book, and I liked the interactions between the main characters. This is a shorter length story and is a quick read.

This book is amazing! The next in the Fire and Ice series and it’s Dymitri’s turn. Marianne will tell him that he needs to go the the human realm - his mate needs him. He will arrive to find Sarah and her sister, Nadia, being held captive and along with his brother Lucian, who’s mate is Sarah’s sister, and Stavrok, they will rescue the sisters and take them to Damon’s castle. It will take her some time but soon, she is developing feelings for Dymitri but it won’t be a smooth ride. Things will get rough when Nadia awakes and Lucian feels nothing when he looks at her. It will lead to Nadia and Sarah leaving the castle and once again, they will need to be rescued. In the end, she will realize just how much Dymitri means to her and she will be willing to stay. Her wedding will bring her older sister and the truth of Marianne’s words about Lucian’s mate.

Dymitri, the dragon shifter male lead, has been warned his human mate is in serious danger in the human world. He rushes to her rescue and brings Sarah back to his world to recover. He feels broken and unworthy for much of the story and Sarah struggles to understand the new world around her. But when the situation leaves her in peril again, she realises just how important Dymitri is to her.
This novella is dual POV, well written, and a great addition to the series. I’m really looking forward to Lucian’s story. This story does stand alone but is best enjoyed as part of the series.

Sarah and Nadia had been kidnapped and imprisoned by drug dealers - and when they were rescued by Stavrok, Dymitri and Lucien, they had no idea of how their lives would change. Marienne had told Dymnitri and Lucien that their mates were sisters - so when they rescued the girls, they thought they had both found what they were looking for. But Lucien and Nadia didnt click - was Marienne wrong? When they tried to escape to go home, they could easily have lost their lives in the cold country that they didnt know. Would Lucien and Dymitri find them in time? Would Lucien find his mate, or was Marienne wrong? Cant wait for the next story in this series! :-)
This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW of The Heir of Winter by Amelia Shaw, the fourth book in the Fire and Ice series. I really enjoyed Dymitri and Sarah's story. This story was fast paced and as a quick read it was amazingly satisfying. From start to finish, I was rooting for Sarah and Dymitri. I loved the chemistry and the sweet way they fell for each other. The relationship between brothers is also well written. A great anytime read that is just the right combination of sweet, sexy (Mature Readers Suggested) and action driven.

I do love dragon shifters! This latest release is a must read if you love dragon shifters too! This series is delicious…strong alpha dragon shifters with female heroines that are not wimpy. Dymitri has finally returned to his family royalty but he is not comfortable with the title of prince. He longs for his mate but surprised to find that his mate is human. Sarah has endured much and perhaps can not commit to her mate. I won’t ruin anymore of the story but it is exciting and the romance will scorch the pages as you turn them. Excellent afternoon read…can’t wait for Luciens book❤️❤️❤️❤️
This interesting and well written Book 4 in The Fire and Ice Book Series was an entertaining Dragon Shifter, soulmates, paranormal love story with very well-thought out scenes, characters, and storyline. These characters have unique personalities, engaging histories and realistic interactions. This intriguing story has the following: twists, turns, adventure, action, steam and a HEA. It is a fast-paced, dragon shifter book that will keep you entertained from start to finish. A must read

The fourth book in the Fire and Ice series finds Dymitri rescuing Sarah and her sister from their captors. Sarah has trouble believing in being mated with a dragon shifter, after all she is a human. Dymitri goes slow as Sarah is new to the idea of another world other than the human world, let alone dragon shifters and mates. I love the detailed world building. Can both of them find love together after their difficult pasts? Looking forward to more in the series!

I so loved this very enjoyable book. Sarah would do anything to save her sister, so when Dymitri showed up she just let him take do what he did. The descriptions throughout this book take you away and make you feel as if you are taking in the scenery with the characters. This book hooks you from the start and doesn’t let you go, even gives you surprises at the end to make you want the next book to come soon.

This is the 4th book in the Fire and Ice series . Dymitri and his brother Lucien had always been outcasts, but now they live in the castle with their half brother, the king. When Marienne , the sorceress informs them of their mates they go to find them. Dymitri finds his in Sarah, but Lucien must wait to find out if Nadia is his. There is a lot that they must all deal with, but in the end it is a happy ending!

As the bastard sons of the former king, Dymitri and his brother never expected to find their fated mates, but when the sorceress tells them they are in the human realm and are in danger they immediately take flight. Sarah and her sister were abducted and held prisoner by human traffickers when the dragons found them. They rescued them and took them to the dragon realm. It took some time and work for Sarah and Dymitri to figure things out, but they were meant for each other. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.
audiobook version Al just pure horrible awful. Remind me of school when you first learned how to read and you got the emphasis all wrong, creepy, monotone , off the rails , irritating , boring and nerve racking,so very bad I can not stand listening. Those author now, want to be cheap and not invest money and what you get is crap. She has several of her books on YT. I started almost all of them and gave up. Just can not finish any of them. So I will not even think about buying it. I find it a damn shame for this way I will never know if the stories are worth it or not.
Another sweet, entertaining story for this series! Cool dragon shifter aspects, heartfelt romance, and some fun action! Loved the connection between Dymitri and Sarah; both have dealt with a lot, so it’s nice that they’ve found each other. Sarah being human and dealing with some new pretty extraordinary things, so that can cause some strife. Love Dymitri’s protective nature. Such a fun premise! Really enjoying this series!
Prince Dimitri is off to the human world to rescue his newly found mate and her sister. But instead of a quick happy ever after things go sideways and plans change. Both are a bit damaged but the fun was watching them interact and figure out they belong to each other. But man they have things they must go through and face that made the story interesting. Pesky things like dragons shifters exist.
This is a cute one, and can easily be read as a standalone, although there would be more enjoyment from a prior knowledge of this world. I did find it difficult to understand how Sarah could "forget" her sister. Fun to read if taken as second degree humour.

I loved this book. It was interesting to me from the start even though I haven't read anything else in this series. Great world building. I loved the characters. That castle excited me as if I was there myself. Very well written. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and plan to pick up the rest of the series. I recommend it. 5 stars.
I absolutely adored this book. Dymitri & Sarah's story is heartbreaking yet heartwarming. But have troubled pasts yet with time, stubbornness and some drama, they were able to come together for a happily ever after

This is the 4th installment of Shaw's Fire and Ice series, it can be read as a standalone as each book focuses on a different couple. This book is just like others written by Shaw, she pulls you into the amazing world she has created filled with memorable characters and a story you don't want to end!

Marienne has said the the twins will find their mates in the human world, but they are in trouble. What will happen when they fly there? Why is Dymitri feeling something, but why is his twin not? Could the sorceress be wrong? Can they save the women or will they be to late?

The fourth book in the Fire and Ice series another well written story in this series. Dymitri and Sarah along with her sister Nadia and his brother Lucian's story there is a lot of ups and downs throughout the story. What a surprise at the end. I want to read the next book to see what happens. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Emotional love story with drama, love, and finding what true happiness is. Learning how to become the person you were meant to be and following through with actions and words. Thank you for another story with these wonderful characters look forward to book 5♥️♥️♥️♥️
I love to read the next story in a series. Poor Dymitri finds his mate in a terrible situation.his mate Sarah has a lot on her plate especially all the guilt eating away at her. It was definitely a great read and I look forward to the next story.

It was good but I was hoping for more exciting and dramatic book. I would had like to see the characters in my imagination but they were not described as much h as I had read in other books I have read that are to A to Z and don't missing anything descriptions of their characters. 👍🏼
This book was interesting. Both Sarah and Dymetri had their own trauma and harsh past events and spent much of the book trying to overcome and navigate the path forward. It was interesting to see it come to a head and then finally finding that point of realisation of what they wanted. All in all, a good book.
For what these stories are, they are good enough if you want a cheesy romance, you will definitely find them. Do I have problems with some of these books? Yes, there are some character aspects. Definitely the lead male character aspects that I don’t like and I’m not a fan of the virgin Trope or barely touched maiden. But I do understand why people like this book and I didn’t find it to bad
Another great story with amazing characters. I was excited to read Dymitri’s story and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Dymitri’s & Sarah are amazing together and I really enjoyed their story.
