The good + Gramiel's bleeding heart. He's such a softie + The awkward 'flirting' between the two of them + Gramiel taking care of Vex (again) + The second kiss! + Vex (due to his extensive research on angelic genitals) + The third kiss! I just love that Gramiel doesn't give a fuck about what Vex looks like (except that he obviously hates how Vex came to look this way)
The neutral o How could Gramiel enter hell so easily? Don't they have protections against unwanted guests? (This part was probably explained and my brain just didn't retain the information)
The bad - I know I add 'the bad' to every review but I honestly can't come up with anything so...
Quotes x "It's very handsome. It- you are very handsome." "Um. Thanks. You too." "Thank you." x "May I hold you? Please? I don't want to do any damage but I- I would like to hold you. Right now." x I've not earned you. I'm not worthy of you. I shouldn't have you, not one piece of you. And if anyone tries to take you from me, I'll fucking murder them.
I love this series. More cuddles and carrying and caretaking, please!
This novella is where the endgame really felt like it started - Vex and Gram make some preliminary moves, taking risks in exchange for some serious rewards to put toward The Plan. Also Vex takes Gram to meet the family, and altogether, things just start coming together, as the whole plottrain starts gaining steam.
So I guess a jail breakout for some of hell’s denizens was on the roster for recruitment here. Along with the angel’s popping in, you can definitely see the final fight coming.
There’s more than slight movement in the plot and a little more romancing going on. Not you know, anything further than first base, but we’ll get there I’m sure. Maybe. Probably. Eh, it’s getting good though.
