Rescuing her from the mob is easy. Keeping her safe from herself is another story…
Lauren has been hiding from the Russians for six months. She’s stir-crazy and finds it difficult to believe anyone is still hunting her. After all, the leader of the mob is behind bars. And then there’s Dmitry. That man is smoking hot with his shaved head, tattooed arms, and bulging muscles. If he doesn’t make a move for her soon, she will self-combust.
Dmitry is a member of the underground fight club. He secretly rescued Lauren from the Russians and has done everything in his power to keep her safe. His motives aren’t purely altruistic. He’s been in love with her for over half a year.
Lauren is done hiding. When she sneaks out and gets a job at a local bar, Dmitry loses his mind. If anyone finds her, she’s dead. If anyone finds her with him, they’re both dead. But there’s no stopping her. Even their bourgeoning relationship isn’t enough to keep her from defying logic.
Time is running out. Anyone could be following them. Or maybe they’re being overly cautious. In any case, Dmitry is facing the fight of his life. He can’t leave Lauren at home, and she’s a moving target in the crowded underground venue. When all hell breaks loose, will it destroy their world?

Dmitry Volikov was one of Anton Yenin's fighter which put him in the direct path of Lauren Schneider. Helping Lauren escape Anton's grasp after he kidnapped her, Dmitry has vowed to keep her safe. Six months later though Lauren is ready to bolt, believing that Dmitry hates her, she couldn't be more wrong. With Anton still a threat, Dmitry is looking for an escape plan that will keep both of them safe.
Loved this, the chemistry between Dmitry and Lauren sizzles off each page. Lauren is feisty and buts head with Dmitry but I think it elevated the passion between them. I can't wait for the next book, if you like over the top alpha males this is the book for you.
Force is my first Becca Jameson read. I enjoyed this first book of The Underground series. There were times I liked it better than others, but overall a solid start to a series I am looking forward to reading more of. This series revolves around a group of men brought to America from Russia by a mafia boss to fight in the underground mma circuit. Not only do we get the sexy fighter and the strong and independent damsel in need of saving, but there is also something much more sinister going on in the background that is going to carry on until the end of the series (I have a feeling).
If you like a dark and broody hero that is dominate in all of the right ways then you'll love Dmitry! He's really quite moody and grumpy which threw me at first. But, then you get a peek of the sweet, softy side that can't say no to the woman he loves. He really is a walking, talking, sexy as sin contrast and I loved every hard-to-understand, protective, dominant and fiercely loyal inch of him. I definitely admire his ability to take Lauren as she was and love her still even when she made him so mad he could barely speak.
Lauren was a bit harder for me to like. Don't get me wrong, she was in a no-win situation. Falling for the wrong guy left her in a very abusive and dangerous position. Dmitry rescuing her was pretty much her only chance of survival. Here's where she made me crazy. I get that she was an independent woman at the core and it went against her natural instincts to stay hidden and protected once she was freed from her abusers. But, it made me crazy that she couldn't bury her need for independence once Dmitry made it more than clear that she could put them all in danger if she was found. I wanted to shake her and yell if you would just listen these amazing men, that have put your happiness, safety and well-being above all else, wouldn't be struggling nearly as bad to stay alive. That being said she did tear at my heartstrings and I definitely believed that she loved Dmitry as much as he loved her.
The secondary characters were compelling and admirable in their loyalty to one another. I'm excited to read more of this series and see what is actually going on behind the scenes and why these men were actually brought to America. I don't for one second believe it's all because of their fighting abilities.
This book was provided to me in exchange for my honest, unbiased review.
This was book 1 in " The Underground" series. Lauren Schneider has been hiding from the Russians for six months and she is going stir crazy so she escapes. Dmitry Volikov is a member of Anton Yenin’s stable and the man who helped her get away from him and one of the men who has been hiding her he is also in love with her. With Anton in jail she thinks she is safe but Dmitry knows better and it's only a matter of time before Anton is released. I liked both of these characters Lauren is strong and strong willed she likes Dmitry dominating her in the bedroom but not in other areas of her life. This was a good read I have read this author before. The sex scenes were hot. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.
Oh look another fail at bdsm. I'll spare the rant because anyone who follows my reviews has seen it before. No safe word means this isn't bdsm. It means that no or a lack of yes means stop. It means that regardless of her reactions this was rapey. This makes the hero no better than the villain. Research authors, before you hijack a lifestyle for your own personal gain. Also cringey dialogue. But mostly the rapey vibe and the cultural appropriation. Dnf @22%
My first reaction at seeing that Becca released Force was:
I was pretty pissed because I follow her since a long while and I'm subscribed to her e-mails and at first I thought she didn't send any release information. After a few seconds I was cursing myself for not playing more close attention to my e-mails and a few seconds after that I was over the anger.
That right up there is my second reaction, two days ago, when I found out that Becca Jameson was again up in the games with a new series and that it was the follow up to The Fight Club series.
And reading it was the most crazy experience... It made me remember when I first read "Come" the first The Fight Club book, but it wasn't even like that... I could only read one chapter at a time of Force because... because... *big sigh* I love Dmitry to his very soul.
Something that I adore about Becca in her other books was the ability to make a strong female character without making her less girly, and that was again Lauren's case. She was head-strong but very feminine and drove Dmitry insane, which was a big plus in my book.
The secondary plot, which for me it's actually the primal plot of the series but the secondary of each book, obviously... was so freaking great that I just... I just... Becca! I hope I can, someday, write a series with a secondary plot that sticks like this one!!!
The anticipation to what was going to happen, because you just knew it was going to happen at some point, because it was just imposible not to happen whay you thought it was going to happen... was off the charts. And when it finaly did... OOOOOHHHHH BOY... that was AMAZING!
But wait! Who were the one that grab her? Why did they help now and not before? Are they FBI? Are they friends of Rafe and the others from The Fight Club? Shouldn't she recognize one of them if they were? What it's Anton doing in that freaking lab? Why did he took them to the US from Russia and all that? Why does he want his father to live for experimenting? WTF was Leo's reaction to the doctor? Who the hell is Abram anyway? How does he made Anton react that way when they spoke? It's he more important than Anton even though he seems like he is not? Why did he gave Dmitry that... I mean... why????
And after reading the whole book my brain was a freaking mess. I mean... so many freaking questions!! I know, I know... it's the first book in a series of 6 but I just couldn't help feeling like my brain was a big scrambled egg.
If you want to know the ending... READ THE BOOK!!!!

What happens when they are finally spotted by Anton's men and he is released from prison? How will they survive multiple attacks? Will their mutual love bring them together, or tear them apart? Pick up Force by Becca Jameson to see if this was a Match meant to be! Well done
I found this book intriguing and steamy. I have not read a lot of books with BDSM, however, this was very tastefully presented in this story. I found the storyline something I could relate to having grown up in Vegas during the latter part of the mob influence. Lauren and Dmitry's struggles with their relationship and the outside influences kept me interested. Their growing relationship was steamy! I also enjoyed meeting the other characters and can't wait to read their stories. Well done Ms. Jameson, you definitely have me hooked!
Force was an awesome continuation of a story that started in the last series. I really enjoyed reading what had happened to Lauren and Dmitry. Granted theirs is not the typical love story, it does not start of that way at all. After Dmitry saves Lauren, they continue to save each other. I love reading about where they ended up, how they fell in love, and figuring out if the danger is ever going to go away. Awesome read by an amazing author. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next...
This book is very different for me. I usually do not read about fighting. I did enjoy reading it though. Dmitry is an underground fighter who is also a Dom. He saved Lauren from Anton who was a violent Dom and mob boss. Lauren can't take being confined in the apartment, so she sneaks out and gets a job. What do you do when you are told you can't work? Will they be found by Yenin the Mob boss, who wants Dmitry and his friend? I give it 5 stars. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
I was given this book, for an honest review. Force is my introduction into the writing of Becca Jameson. I'm a fan. The gritty, roughness of the storyline, the characters, banter it all in my opinion added up to an unforgettable Mafia Romance. It keeps you on your edge of your seat, page after page. Suspense, angst, great sex . Can't wait to read book 2
I loved this book! This book had everything. Suspense, danger, action, romance, much more... I loved the interaction between Lauren & Dimitri. I started reading the book + could not put down. I wanted to know what happened next + next ... Kudos for Becca Jameson!
The Underground Series is a spin off from Jameson's Fight club Series. This takes place in Chicago with Dimitry, Lauren and Mikhail. They are hiding from Russian mobster Anton Yenin. Force is Dimitry and Lauren's story but it gives a glimpse at all the supporting characters. Jameson gives us romance, suspense, mystery and fast paced action. We are introduced to new characters along with the old ones that came from Fight Club. If you like a good love story with a great storyline along with hot alphas and strong female characters then Force is for you. This can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommended reading Jameson's Fight Club series first to get better understanding of characters and storyline. Force picks up were Lust Book 6 of Fight Club left off. Its all so good but a little different. Happy Reading
First, the pros. Clean editing with few glaring errors. Sweet, sexy, hot alpha male who's all about the woman he loves and isn't one of the ubiquitous billionaires that apparently can be found on every street corner. The sex scenes are well done.
Now, the cons. The heroine is too freaking stupid for words. The attempts to show her as strong come across as terminal stubbornness to have her own way. I almost hoped the hero would find someone with two brain cells to rub together. The Russian immigrants speak English too well for having been in the country for about a decade and having to learn English as adults. And the scenes with Yenin, Boris, and Erik could be deleted without affecting the story. They read like they were inserted to pad the word count.
A really good story. I loved their relationship. Lauren has been through a lot and just wants freedom from yet another prison she views in hiding from the Russian mob. Dmitry is in live with her and risked everything to save her to only have her try to sneak off and run away every five minutes. I live how feisty she is and how alpha protective he is. They would do anything for one another. Can’t wait for the next one.
Was drawn in with a great opening and some sizzle and exciting twists and turns! Would like a little more of the passionate moments tied in. Trying the next book in the series.
I love MMA so I loved the MMA element of this story. The main characters had a lot of chemistry. Then you add in the Russian mob and all that entails and the story was awesome. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
This was such a great read which had so much drama and fight in it. Would love over come everything? Will they ever be safe? See where this will lead you
I received a free copy of this book for a fair and impartial review.
There. That's out of the way.
Also, I loved the Fight Club series. (Except the last two. I didn't read Zane's story because he reminded me of my brother -- ick! -- and the professor pissed me off.)
Plus, I had to get over my "bald guy bias". I know! I know! I have trouble with beards, too. I swear that I'm seeking help. And I was able to get through this one, so that's something, right?
This one was... more difficult to read. There's a lot more repetition as we establish a totally new back story for the Russians. It's complex. So complex that it took over the love story. I didn't get a good feel of progression from "I'm not in love with you" to, "I can't live without you." (Although there is quite an epiphany for Lauren at one point in the book, so it's not completely unbelievable.) Also, Dmitry is kinda of dick in some parts. Lauren is more stupidly stubborn than sassy, so at least they're equally matched.
Bottom line: they're believable in their roles as thrown together. It's even more believable that they ended up in the situation they're in, given their personality flaws.
There's fewer fight scenes. More plot. Lots more repetition for plot points that is strictly necessary. Jameson completely delivers on hot sex scenes, so that's always a bonus.
I'd give it a solid three. It's well-written and well plotted. The pacing is fine, except for the excessive repetition. The characters are engaging. Yenin is a bad, bad man and he's got some bad, bad surprises for us. Like, the guy is a scumbag. I want to finish the series simply to find out how they defeat him. Now THAT's a great antagonist.
I kinda can't wait for clinch... because... LEO. And Yenin. And a pretty doctor who wants a hot MMA fighter just to mess with her family's expectations. What could possibly go wrong?
I read this book when it was released in 9/15, but re-read it 6/16 in preparation for the next installment. As I read through, Lauren revealed herself as the pain the ass she was when I read it the first time.
Dmitry and his friend Mikhail risked life and limb to rescue Lauren from her abusive boyfriend, Anton Yenin, who happens to be a Russian mob boss..when they finally get her relocated, they were able to bring Mikhail's sister over from Russian as well. Now the 4 of them are trying to lie low while they gather money and time to figure out what to do to stay one step ahead of Anton Yenin. Now, Lauren is sick and tired of being stuck inside the apartment for 6 months...she needs to get out. For some strange reason she is unable to understand the danger she is in and the danger that Dmitry and Mikhail are in if Anton finds out that they sprung her from her captivity. She was completely unreasonable and acted like a pain in the ass child the whole damn book. Why Dmitry still wanted to deal with her, only love knows. She was so hung up on looking and feeling sexy (really!) after months of baggy shirts and sweats..Ugh!
Anywho, Dmitry and Mikhail did well connecting with Abram in Chicago..he has proven to be a good friend and confidant and was able to get Dmitry the biggest fight he needed to set them up for a while away from Anton's clutches..or so we hope.
You know you love a book when the characters can irritate you enough to ruin your day or night. :)
This book was rather difficult for me to start. Mostly because of the heroine being stupidly stubborn and the only reason the hero seemed to love her was because of her looks and she'd gotten herself into a situation he was a good enough guy to want to rescue her from. But then I realized that the power of an author and their storytelling abilities lies in their ability to pull an emotional response from the reader. So I persevered. And I was rewarded with very hot sex scenes and the setup for the next book. The lines are laid out for us to see that the fighters have been biologically tampered with, but you're still left guessing some things around that plot point. The mark of a well-written bad guy is that you want to see his takedown, but you're also interested in what his motives are, what drives him to be so bad. This series has that. While I have yet to read the Fight Club series, I was given enough information in this book to know what was going on, but to also want to know what happened in those other books. I'm glad to have read this book, though the overall feeling I was left with was that this book was more of a bridge than a well-rounded story like you would normally expect from this author. I definitely look forward to reading the next book in the series, because Leo and Katie seem very promising as characters and I have no doubt the author will keep me as happy as she usually does.
