Falling for him in the easy part. Getting him to see her is the challenge.

Alena’s life has been upside down for a year and a half. First, she was abducted and held for six months in Russia, and then she was rescued and went into hiding in the US. She’s done hiding. She’s also done tiptoeing around Ivan, pretending she doesn’t want the man in her bed.

Ivan has kept Alena safe for nearly two months. He has spent every minute of that time fighting his attraction toward her. After all, she’s his best friend’s sister, she has no idea what kind of man Ivan is, and she has innocence written on her forehead. She is off limits.

When Alena bares everything—literally—Ivan is forced to face his feelings head on. But nothing changes the fact that the leader of the Russian Mafia is after both them and their friends. The FBI is working frantically to put an end to the terror, but it’s taking longer than anyone would have hoped.

Alena won’t wait for the threat to be contained. She intends to live her life now. It’s up to Ivan. In? Or out?

I know I'm repeating myself with this series but WOW it does keep getting better. Finally we get Alana and Ivan's story because of course they're together. Alena who's innocent but knows what she want's and Ivan the fighter and Dom. Who would've thought they'd make a great couple well she did and finally she decided it was time to let Ivan know. Ivan has wanted her from the beginning but she's his best friend's sister and you don't go against that code, or so he tried. Now they're figuring out their relationship but the FBI and Anton are still following everyone around and it isn't safe.

I just love this couple, she's so sassy and he's so dominant and together the energy is amazing! I also liked how you got their full story and even though you gets parts from the last book it's still good because it's their part now. And of course the heat's through the roof and the suspense, well the author just turned up a notch with this story. You're missing out if you haven't read this series yet! I received a copy under no obligation. The review is written because I wanted to.

Well we finally get to Ivan and Alena's story. These two have been dancing around each other since the beginning of the series. Alena is a very strong willed woman and she has made up her mind she has waited long enough. Ivan is a dominate and afraid it is to much for Alena. He is also worried about the Russian Mob. With the pressure of the mob after them deter Alena from her plans? Will Ivan have to save her from herself and the mob?
I give it 4 stars. "I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy without pressure to do so".

I love Alena and Ivan. They are a cute couple. Alena had been though a lot and has what seems to be several protectors that watch over her. However one, is way more interested in her than the rest. I love her spunk. I like how Ivan is worried how her brother would react and talks to him before he does anything with Alena. There are some new players that come to light. One thing I noticed reading this book, was I felt a little sorry for Anton Yenin. How can you feel bad for the bad guy? But with Becca's writing of him, I do.

This has been such a great series, and this one was screaming to be read. Alena is by far one of the most intriguing characters in the whole series, we finally find out why she was kidnapped (and by whom) and held hostage in Russia. And finally we get to Alena and Ivan's story. Can't wait for Sergei's story!

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book and my opinions are honest
We are almost at the finish line!
In this book, we find 1 common denominator that all the fighters had: HEP A.
Anton Yenin gave an experimental drug to his father, but the drug did not work + Grigori died.
Anton also learn that he is in the beginning stages of ALS.
The clock is ticking for Anton.
While Anton is trying to find a cure for ALS, this book is mostly about Ivan + Alena.
Alena was attracted to Ivan for a long time.
She took a chance + showed Ivan how she felt about him.
Ivan was also attracted to Alena, but she was the sister of his best friend.
The courtship between Ivan + Alena was fun, but Alena thought that it was going too slow.
I am glad that Alena + Ivan did find their HEA.

Sooo good

Loved this relationship. It had a 50shades of grey feel to it. His love for her made him not need the sadism side of the dominance and not want to hurt her/punish in traditional dominant submissive ways. This story had lots of ups and downs and twists and turns. I loved the relationship between Ivan and Alena. The innocence of her and experience he has played a role in how he approached her. Or more likely how he reacted to her seductions. I like how he isn’t the ‘yes sir’ type of Dom as liked to put it. Compared to Mikhail. Each Dom is different and has different faucets to their relationships and how they need to exert dominance. I like how he tried to defuse issues with Mikhail first and respected their friendship. And that was a non issue. They had enough on their plates to deal with without an angry brother/best friend. The progression has continued into he sorry about Yenins actions. But each book gives you more point of views of previous events. Like when Belinda tried to rescue her cousin but now you have Alenas POV. Loved the book.

Good story..we're almost at the end..

Well, we're almost at the end of the story. With the exception of yet another group of bad guys following our Russian fighters and their women, there wasn't anything new or earth shattering in this story regarding Alena's abduction or the bloodworm from the guys. This story was all about Ivan and Alena.

They were a good pair. I must admit, I was getting tired of the slow pace was using on Alena just as much as she was. I mean, by the time we got to the good stuff, we were damn near 1/2 way through the book. Alena was very naive, which was understandable given her lack of actual life experience. So needless to say,,Ivan was way out of her league. Somehow, they make it work. With the exception of a few dramatic moments, the story was good, but it's time to bring it all together and finish it.

Have been a big fan of The Underground series but have been waiting patiently (ok maybe not so patiently) for Ivan and Alena's story. Book 5 delves further into the goings on of what Anton Yenin is up to and now introduces the FSB into the equation giving us more to try and second guess what is really going on and who really is the enemy. This story gives us more incite into what Alena went through when she was captured and also that beneath everything she is really one strong woman who can bring Ivan to his knees. This storyline keeps us on the edge of our seat with the mystery and drama that is still plaguing these Russian underground fighters and how the women that own their hearts are changing their outlook on life and the future. Bring on book 6.

This series keeps getting better & better! Maybe it's because Ivan & Alena's relationship has been hinted at in the previous books, but I feel like I've already been rooting for them for so long! And I felt like Ivan had a lot of growth in this story. He starts out thinking he needs things to be one way, but the more he gets to know Alena, and realizes she is IT for him, the more he realizes those things aren't needed any more. A lot of this story takes place at the same time as Belinda & Nik's story, so there's not A LOT of forward movement in the overall storyline, but we do get to see some new-to-us players - the ppl who are after Alena.

All in all, I enjoyed this installment a lot, and am as always looking forward to the next book in the series! : )

This was a slow, torturous book to get through. The restating of all the same information took a good third of the book, it felt like. And Ivan didn't seem believable, to be honest. But there at the end, there was finally some forward momentum achieved. A chapter later, the book ended. I hate to say I was grateful and relieved.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
