I have always been the enemy. And the enemy I will always be.
Once upon a time, I was somebody’s daughter. But those somebodies are now dead and buried. So it’s just me. Wolf of the wastelands. Rejected. Vengeful. Ready for war.
But first... There’s some seducing to be done.
The Imel pack banished my parents, forcing my family into a life of hardship in the wastelands. The Imels also have a son. A son who, unlike me, has lived a life of luxury. Getting all the things he wanted with a snap of his fingers.
Now I’m about to be the thing he didn’t know he wanted, but got anyway. The thing he craves. The thing he NEEDS. And then BAM! Fangs out, claws sharpened, I’ll rip that pretty boy to bits.
At least, that was the plan. But as the wise folk say, ‘we plan, the Goddess laughs’.
But how dare her laugh at ME!
Mate Rejected is a standalone Rejected Mates shifter romance for of-age readers.
World build: Easy to understand. Possibly a little too simple. Pretty true to genre, nothing unique.
Storyline: This is where things slipped for me. The beginning was interesting and exciting. The idea of being trained for vengeance and seeing it through was so cool to me. Then it took a pretty rapid turn when Harper met Atlas. Even though there were clear signs where this storyline was headed I was really hoping it stayed true to the original story. It did not and that is where it began to slip into boring verses exciting. The storyline for me is what I had the issue the most with.
FMC: Harper was beauty coated in vengeance and anger which I loved. Was an exciting start for an FMC. Instead of Harper leading up to this wrath she started with it. Alas, the storyline changed her, and well you already know for me it was not in a good way.
MC: Atlas was a little dull. He was predictable, careless, and gullible. Not traits I find attractive for an MC.
Not really rejected mates in my opinion, more second chance romance.
2.5/5 stars. It was an excellent premise that had lots of promise however, in my opinion, it was poorly executed. This book is advertised as a rejected mates romance however, personally, I think this is more of a second chance romance than rejected mates but, I digress. The FMC was incredibly annoying and ,in my opinion, quite unlikable. Her inner monologue was so irritating, I wanted to tell her to shut up. From the start of the book she portrayed herself as a badass seductress who could takedown anyone in her path and I was living for it, however, her actions never once backed her up. Not once. It was rather disappointing. The reveal about her parents was incredibly predictable. Atlas was actually an awesome male main character. I loved him. Excellent book boyfriend! He’s actually the main reason I kept reading. Overall this was an okay read. Quick and easy. It’s not one that I’d come back to again however and I’m sorry for that. I have read other books by this author and really enjoyed it! I liked the wrath of the rejected books 1&2. This one was just a bit of a miss for me I’m afraid.
I was so disappointed in this book. I was really excited in the beginning we have a badass girl. Harper trained to revenge her parents but then as the book continues it gets really dumb and the badass turns to a whimp. Lol! She doesn't believe her parents told her the truth and now she's like an Omega in the pack she was supposed to take down. This book is so dumb. It was a waste and I couldn't deal with the story anymore I skimmed through the last of it. I read up to 87% and I was getting so annoyed on how things played out. Oh... I'll back track a little, Atlas Imel the guy she planned to use to get inside the pack and the upcoming Alpha falls for her and she has this seductive power over him in the beginning and then when stuff goes downhill she becomes the little girl who tries to gain his affection and his loyalty by proving to the pack she is worthy to stay. Why..... is this such a twisted story she becomes the little omega from a badass. Not worth the time.
Sorry, that was the sound of my rage at the book gods who have blessed this beautiful book with a beautiful cover and beautiful words with NO PAPERBACK edition.
