This felt like it would have been better as a companion novel. Vivian doesn't want to marry the Politician her Father has chosen. She has dreams of opening a dress shop. She comes up with a plan to visit her cousin (Gilbert from book #12) in Last Chance for the summer and see if life in the pioneer town is better for her. She takes along her maid and the family's manservant for protection. Casey doesn't want to stay a servant for the rest of his life. After seeing the ad for mail-order husbands, he wants to leave for Last Chance. It works out well when he's asked to accompany Vivian there. He's always liked her but knows he can't pursue a relationship with his boss' daughter. Are things different in the Wild West? Will Vivian decide pioneer life is too much for her and return to her betrothed? Will Casey find a widow of his own? It was a clean read but just didn't seem to fit the basis of the series. It would have been good as a side story, in my opinion.
I absolutely loved this book! This is another wonderful book in the Blizzard Brides series. Viviane story begins in Louisville, Kentucky where she is expected to marry the mayor. But, she has other ideas. She talks her father into letting her visit her cousin who lives in Last Chance, Nebraska. She's accompanied by two of her servants for her protection, Casey being one of them. Vivian wants to be more than a trophy wife and would love to become a businesswoman, by opening her own dress shop. Casey has decided he might marry one of the women in Last Chance, that needs a husband. They are both fighting their attraction to each other since their place in society is so different and Casey is employed by her father. But, the west is different than polite society and they may just have a chance. I love the way this story unfolds and the characters involved. Marlene Bierworth always writes such interesting books and this is no exception.
Sweet and romantic story of a society woman who is to wed an up and coming politician. But Vivian can’t fathom being shackled to the boor who only wants a trophy wife. Vivian dreams of owning her own dressmaking shop and comes up with a plan to achieve that goal.
Casey has worked for Vivian’s family his entire life and has always admired her spunk and determination. But, sadly he is a servant and she is an heiress. When Casey learns of Vivian’s plan to go to Last Chance, he jumps at the offer to be her escort and protector.
Will he also be able to be her true love?
I adored this story! Vivian was not your typical society lady. And Casey…he was a real man who knew what he wanted, but also recognized his limitations in what he could have. Thankfully, the two of them were able to break all of societies barriers.❤️
This is a sweet bride tale of a rich heiress and her man servant written by Marlene Bierworth. She has done an excellent job with spinning this into a tale that brings love to two very different people. Casey is a man servant for a very wealthy family. Vivian is the eldest of the three daughter’s in this wealthy family. She is betrothed to a wealthy politician that she does not love. She talks her father into allowing her to travel to Last Chance to visit with her cousin and his family. She travels with her personal ladies maid and Casey to act as her body guard and the do the same on her return trip home before her planned wedding. You will enjoy discovering how Casey and Vivian fall in love and find their happily ever after.
Marlene here - the author of the book. I am enjoying writing clean romance stories in this series. Vivian is feeling a trapped in her upper-class world with unfilled dreams pushing her. Accompanied by one of her father's employee's, she goes to Last Chance to visit her cousin who has settled there (in 'A Groom for Callie').
Not only does she harbor a yearning to never return home, but her traveling companion, Casey, dreams of settling in the west.
It was fun to bring these two characters together and mix the two worlds into a sweet blend that fits perfectly into the frontier community.
I hope you enjoy their love story and rejoice in breaking down the status-quo, as you revisit Last Chance, Nebraska. This book is a standalone title, but does mention characters from "Callie's" book.
A different approach for the series, neither Vivian or Casey are actually residents of Last Chance, Nebraska. Vivian jumped at the opportunity to leave for a few months before her arranged marriage, really planning to miss the whole thing. Casey gladly accepted the challenge of accompanying her West, but found his place in Last Chance. With neither of them wanting to return to Kentucky and both finding themselves attracted to each other, Marlene Bierworth gives us a story that erases class lines and settles only for love. I enjoyed this book.
Loved the characters! This book is a little different from the rest in the series, I loved that aspect because it grabs you by surprise. This book in the series is one of my favorites. Vivian is so full of sass and independent that she makes any female proud. The romance had me cheering and excited the way it was done. Grabs you from the first page and keeps you smiling until the last page. Excellent read! Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
Enjoyed this Blizzard Bride Book very much! Loved the main characters Vivian & Casey and their relationship despite their different stations in life. Found this story exactly to be how the author M. Bierworth describes her writing in her bio - Christian romance with a twist of mystery, adventure, suspense and drama to set your pulse racing, and this one in a wild west setting! Great job!
Sometimes bravery is needed when following your dreams
I loved watching Vivian grow from a socialite into a pioneer business woman. Casey fit right in becoming a cowboy, but he never stopped trying to protect Vivian, either. I loved how the story turned out, too, because William seemed totally wrong for Vivian. It was great to see Vivian and Casey's roles change once they got to Nebraska. They were more equals, instead of mistress and servant. It was a very heartwarming story.
An unexpected but wonderful story of a wealthy socialite who travels to Last Chance to visit with her cousin where she finds freedom from marriage to a wealthy man who would stifle her dreams. Vivian’s parents have arranged for her to marry the future mayor of Louisville, Kentucky. Vivian proposes her father allow her to visit her cousin for one last trip before marriage. It is arranged for one of the servants, Casey, to accompany Vivian and her ladies maid on the trip. I would recommend this heartwarming story to readers.
Loved everything about this story. The characters were so familiar and believable. Casey and Vivian fit so well together. Would love to see Sarah and Betsy find love in Last Chance. Sarah is a mature woman that needs a more productive life, as for Betsy she needs a strong sensitive man to unlock who she can really become.
Families occasionally pressure young women to marry before they feel ready. Parents cannot pick the husband for a daughter she must follow her own heart. Dreams and desires of the heart may change as a person matures. This is a beautiful story of a sassy young lady who reached for her dreams.
Vivian has so much in her life but what she lacks the most is freedom. Both of these young people have their lives planned for them and they have to decide if they are willing to settle for someone else's plan or if they want to dream for themselves. I love to see their growth and how they help others to grow as well.
This is an awesome story that shows the class distinction of the time period in the South. But once the characters are removed from the city society to the wilds of Kansas they are free to be themselves and let their dreams come true.
I really enjoyed Vivian and Casey's story, it was sweet, exciting and fun. They were a very good match, rich girl and poor servant, a made the best couple, Thank you Marlene Bierworth.
This is a great book. Really enjoyed reading. Marlene does a fine job showing that people from different social classes could be friends and that the upper society wants to find true love and not just have a business marriage.
A Groom for Vivian The Blizzard Brides Series Book 18
This is a good story and the eighteenth book in this series about a young woman that travels to last chance to get away from the man her family wants her to marry and finds love
This was a very interesting and surprising story of simple love. Society and under class servant find love in the pioneer community of Last Chance. Vivian and Casey defy all odds to find a deep love for one another. Another great story from this wonderful series.
I really enjoyed the story of Casey and Vivian. I especially liked the faithfulness of Sarah and how she became a friend and companion to Vivian. The scene where Vivian handled the man who was after Betsy showed how much she'd changed!
I've enjoyed reading this series. Anyone who enjoys clean, well written romance should enjoy them too. July 6 is release date of next in series, A Groom for Purity!
Absolutely wonderful ❤ these characters seem so real! Perhaps my favorite of the series! If you haven't already read this series, I highly recommend it!
