In this fascinating, eye-opening book, Adam Blai offers a uniquely comprehensive, careful, and thoughtful exploration of miracles, the Church’s process of approving them, and the telltale signs of demonic counterfeits.

This was an interesting book. It gives info about approved miracles and what it take for a declaration of a miracle in the Catholic Church. I have never read so much info about Stigmata, there is a chapter covering it. It made me a bit squeamish, though it was still interesting.
This book has many interesting stories from the saints about miracles. He explains what a miracle is and is not, and how to distinguish a true miracle from an action of the devil. There is a chapter about how to look out for spiritual charlatans who have always existed in every age.
However, the book is far too short and loses focus on its subject matter. In my opinion he does not explain enough about what the Popes and Church doctors have taught about miracles. He focuses more on demonology (the author’s area of expertise) than miracles per se. He also includes personal anecdotes which I find distracting and uninteresting.
I really loved about half of this book. The stories of the saints were interesting. There was too much info regarding demons, exorcism, and other mental issues for me. I understand that those types of events are the author’s specialty and of course he’s going to write more about it but it didn’t hold my attention.
I appreciate the unbiased venture this book offers. It's helped me discern events in my personal experiences. I'm searching for more goodness to balance my life and experiences yet to come. Thank you for this blessed book.
