The best part of this book is the first couple of chapters in which the heroes deal with legal challenges that come from finding sunken treasure in an earlier novel. It’s important material presented in an interesting way. First, it tells us that the heroes are unethical, having failed to report the first approximately $2 billion worth of treasure they uncovered. It also shows that they are very smart and technically capable. You like them, even though they are essentially thieves. It was very well done,

Things proceed in the expected manner for the next roughly 60% of the novel—there’s plenty of action and interesting problems to overcome. Our heroes are searching for a mythical lost library in the jungles of Ecuador—a library that reportedly contains within it the secret of immortality among other treasures. Two groups (one a team of brutal Vatican mercenaries) are trying to catch our treasure hunters so they can torture the location of the library out of them before murdering them.

All of that comes to a close when they find the library a little more than halfway through the book. They defeat those pursuing them and encounter a possibly artificial intelligence left by aliens who have been visiting our planet for tens of thousands of years. At this point the adventure basically ends and we are presented with chapter after chapter of “seemingly too good to be true” wonders being presented to our treasure hunters. Cynic that I can be, I naturally thought that the alien’s efforts to get the team to help it fix its power supply were going to eventually reveal it to be a terrible threat to the planet. But no, that’s not what happens. Everything is sweetness and light for the rest of the novel except for a short ending that resolves the legal problems of the first couple of chapters.

Honestly, I can’t understand why Aldridge chose to end the story in this manner, other than he obviously is preparing for a sequel. Adventure stories thrive on conflict, and there frankly isn’t any for almost half the book. I enjoyed the first part, but I was definitely disappointed by the last several chapters.

What an amazing book. Trying to find the hidden treasure of a Golden Library is an awesome thing. Who would believe that something like that even exists. Unfortunately they’re not the only ones, so it’s dangerous as well. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Having received an ARC copy of Encounter, I wanted to write a review while it was still fresh in my mind. I had read the other two books and wanted to see how the author would end this interesting trilogy.
If you read any of the other two books you know the story started with the discovery of an underwater treasure off the coast of F!orida. The items they found lead them to believe there was an astounding library in the mountains in the country of Ecuador.
In book two they talk to some old people who give them more information. This only keeps their interest alive and they head home to get ready for their trip to find the library.
In this book, Encounter,Dr. Colton Xavier Burnett and his group of mountain climbing, underwater "pirates", scientists and all around group of good guys and gals know they are in for a hard trip. They know they are being followed by gunmen from the local drug dealer with orders to kill them. After they get to Ecuador they find out they are also being tailed by mercenary from Europe with the same orders, but only after they find the library.
In the story they find amazing things that put their minds in overdrive. Some of them are as follows: a female alien, nicknamed Jeannie, who turns out to be their teacher and mentor. A fairy who can change to a Saber Tooth tiger, some amazing tools that allow them to transport from place to place, a tool that will allow them to " fly", and an unique welding device, just to name a few. Jeannie finally allows them to see the library and what a !library it is.
The story is an interesting fast reading book, guaranteed to keep your interest. I know you will enjoy this book.

This book is all about adventure. It's the third book in a series, but the reader can enjoy this book without having read the previous books. Colt and his crew are dealing with lawsuits over their treasure recovery of the ship wreck. They are still dealing with the after effects of a run in with a drug cartel. So what do they do? They go back to South America in search of a hidden, lost city and the storied library of knowledge.

The team is well experienced in every eventuality that may come up, and they have great electronics, weapons, etc. After a interesting trek through the jungle, pursued by bad guys, they stumble upon a great discovery and the story changes from an adventure to supernatural.

This is a great story, although it requires the reader to suspend reality and accept what might have happen many thousands of years ago.

It's a fun read. I was provided a copy of this book by the author. This is my honest review.

Encounter: Fast and Furious

"I was shaking my head as we entered and headed for the bar. I thought, well, at least it’s not Monday… "- Dr. Colten Burnett

Finding sunken treasures? All in a day's work! Dealing with pirates and overzealous officials? No problem! Facing off with unknown mercenaries? Sure! But is Colt and is crew ready for the latest twist.... Saving the world from a shadow entity that will stop at nothing and let no one stand in their way? Can they do it.... Or is the world doomed?

"As I crawled into my sleeping bag, I couldn’t help thinking we are on the verge, the cusp of something extraordinary; I only hoped we would be up to the mental and physical challenges I knew would be forthcoming." - Dr. Colten Burnett

Wow, what a thrill ride! Spectacular twists and turns, switch backs and unexpected loop-de-loops! An intriguing blend of action thriller and science fiction!

Colten, his friends, and business partners are back in Ecuador to continue their search for the mysterious Golden Library. They aren't the only ones who want to find it, though. Fortunately, they receive a timely warning, and do their best to prepare for a most likely, deadly confrontation. What they find will drastically change their view of the world.
Wow, this is an exciting adventure with action, suspense, and is a thrilling conclusion to this series. There are plenty of unexpected and surprising twists in the plot that kept me glued to the pages, and on the edge of my seat. Fascinating, well written, and unique characters that a thought were realistic in their interactions. Throw in a little bit of humor and this a must read. I couldn't put it down. Fantastic book!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This is an awesome book. It starts with the Risky Business Crew searching and finding treasure, off the coast of Coco Beach Florida. They are finding so much treasure, officials from Florida and Spain step in. Everyone wants their share. As this is happening they hear about a lost legendary golden library in the Andes. So off they go to see if they can find it. When they start they found out that two groups of people are out to kill them. They want to find the library also.So many twists and turns and adventures. That makes the book a must read. You won't want to put it down. I was given this ARC, in exchange for an honest review. And this is honest, read it.

Colt Burnett and his eclectic team of treasure hunters are at it again. Their continuing effort to find a library left by a highly advanced alien civilization takes them back to Ecuador. High in the Andes Mountains, they encounter an entity with supernatural powers, guarding a previously unknown underground city. Add in some defensive work against local bandits and also a group of Vatican mercenaries, and there is a lot of action to keep everyone awake and active. This is listed as the final book in the RISKY BUSINESS CHRONICLE trilogy, but the ending hints at a possible extension of the series.

Received as ARC. Colton Burnette and his team of adventurers are salvaging a sunken Spanish galleon. They run into trouble with the state of Florida on who has the rights to the treasure. Meanwhile, they receive info on a mysterious lost city in Equador. The story of finding the Citadel is non-stop adventure. Enjoyed the book immensely. This the third in a trilogy, but the first one I have read.

Page turner

The story line was interesting and varied as it began as a search for a hidden sunk ship treasurer with logical steps. The characters were developed in a logical plan. One thing led to another as the story changed directions into the source of the treasure in Ecuador. A real page turner.

I'm still scratching my head over the organization of this book (and this series). As the cover pix suggests, there are two stories contained herein that hardly seem to intersect except for the characters involved. ALDRIDGE has settled upon a rather unique was to spin his tales, but for the most part it works.

Great Ending to Sunken Treasure Lost Worlds

I’m not sure what I expected, but this kept the excitement going and although there were many things left unexplored, I liked the Jeannie character and the parting gift she shared with them. Wondering if she will make other appearances? I also loved the ending, knowing there will be more adventures for Risky Business Consolidated.

The treasure hunters are back in Ecuador looking for a lost library buried in the mountains. They start on their hike into the mountains with two groups following them. Someone does not want them to find the library and do not want them to leave the mountain. A thriller to keep you reading.

Outstanding and thought provoking.

I only wish that this was available to my wife Adrienne who's blind and can use articles. Problem is we can't afford the price for most. I know she would enjoy them as much as I have.

Spellbinding Read

As per the other 2 Sunken Treasure Novels I did not think Hep could write a 3rd one better than the other two. It is unbelievably a “ can’t put me down “ . A fascinating Novel.
