Finding You

Rate this book
Explosive chemistry and fake relationships don’t mix. Someone really should have told them that sooner…

Declan Quinn does not need a girlfriend, no matter what his matchmaking mother thinks. He’s perfectly happy with his life just the way it is - uncomplicated and quiet. But there’s nothing uncomplicated about his sexy new neighbor… or the way she makes him feel.

The last thing on Astrid Wentworth’s agenda is romance. But Declan wants a fake girlfriend to keep his well-meaning family at bay, and she needs a fake boyfriend for an upcoming work event. It’s the perfect solution. Unless she makes the mistake of falling for the hot, long haired, grumpy fisherman, that is…

It was supposed to be a simple, platonic arrangement. It soon became anything but. At this point, they’ve stomped all over the line between real and pretend. So…now what?

Author’s Note: Finding You is a full-length, standalone, steamy, small town, slow burn, contemporary romance featuring explosive chemistry and a guaranteed happily ever after. May contain adult language, spicy sexy times, a dog who thinks she’s a cat, sledgehammers, burning Christmas trees, and assault by stiletto. Download today and let the good times roll.

“The urge to make her mine .... was overwhelming”

I was lucky enough to beta read this beauty and I LOVED IT.

I wanted Declan’s book as soon as we met him in Liam’s story. Who doesn’t love a growly, sexy, bearded, tatted fisherman? I mean that’s my book crack.

Astrid is a feisty & fierce lawyer. You have to earn her smiles and unwavering loyalty.

Can’t wait for more of Havenport!

Finding You is book two in the Havenport / Quinn Brothers series. In this book, we meet our MCs Declan and Astrid. Finding You fits into the "fake relationship/slow burn" romance trope I'd say.

Declan's mom is constantly trying to play matchmaker and find him a partner. But Declan is happy with how things are as it stands. He likes it simple and uncomplicated...... until his hot neighbor moves in. And guess who that hot neighbor is?
Astrid also doesn't want a relationship. BUT they both decide a fake relationship would help them in their own ways. Declan uses it to keep his family off his back, Astrid uses it for a work event.
The problem is... fake relationships don't work if someone falls for real.

The author does a GREAT job at character development in this series. I really enjoyed both Astrid and Declan. The secondary characters were likeable as well!

The steamy scenes were great to read, but I do wish there was just a tad more spice overall.

I'll definitely read book 3.

3.5✨

A good book to read romance between mature and independent characters.

Read for :
🔹A strong, hard working independent lawyer FMC with a big heart, so bit of sunshine vibes but also knows how to fight for herself and with looks like Charlize Theron💅
🔹A head and body and muscle strong small town fisherman MMC who likes being in solitude, so bit of grumpy vibes but also has a softy heart, looks like Jason Momoa 😎
🔹 Mature characters - both in their early 30's
🔹Small town vibes with a great sense of community
🔹Fake relationship
🔹Small town guy with city girl - both having different lifestyles
🔹The book also talks misogyny in corporate firms but not too much as it is in the past for the h
🔹Insecure H, again not much - the H kind of took the small town guy big city girl difference too seriously 😐
🔹 Workaholic h with a toxic mom
🔹There is a third act breakup because of a silly reason from the H's side though he realises his mistake soon apologizes, so very low angst. The h handled it very well.
🔹HEA with a sweet epilogue❣️

The book has some heavy subjects but still a very light hearted read. The characters are mature and really good at communicating with what they want.

Yes! This! All of this!

I often say that I love “feminist romance.” There are people out there who think that’s an oxymoron. They’re wrong. And this book is a fine example of feminist romance with so much sexy sizzle!

Finding You is the story of Astrid, a corporate lawyer fired from her job out of retaliation for rejecting the sexual advances of a senior partner at her firm. Trying to figure out exactly what she wants for her future, she goes to stay at her aunt’s cabin in Havenport and there she encounters Declan, a grumpy fisherman who lives across the street.

One of my favorite things about the book is that Declan, who looks like an “Irish Jason Momoa” is such a thoughtful character. He falls for Astrid’s mind just as much as he admires her ass.

Their bond is sweet, sexy and supportive, and I’m here for it. That, to me, is feminist romance. It's where mutual respect and communication are rewarded instead of the female main character always having to forgive toxic behaviors like jealousy and possessiveness. The characters are layered and imperfect, with insecurities, sure, but nothing they can’t talk through.

I really enjoyed Finding You by Daphne Elliot. It’s the second book in the Havenport Series, and a great standalone read.

I LOVED IT! The chemistry, the steamy, and the fake relationship trope. *MWAH* Fantastic!

Declan Quinn is a certified bachelor and would probably remain one until the youngest Quinn brother gets engaged and the pressure is on for Declan to find someone. Astrid Wentworth is a strong, independent corporate lawyer who is spending some time away from her job in Havenport. Declan and Astrid are neighbors and find themselves attracted to each other even though love is something they didn’t want. Declan is COO of his family’s fishery and he may not take over until his family sees that he’s responsible, meaning until he’s settled down. Declan needs a fake girlfriend to get his family off his back and enter Astrid, what begins as a simple arrangement turns into something more as these two explore their mutual attraction to one another.

Declan is an alpha, grumpy, ex-mliitary, and introverted who doesn’t do relationships. Astrid is the strong, driven, and determined heroine who has lost her way. I absolutely loved these two together. Their chemistry, slow-burn, and angst was everything I wanted! I loved the way these characters grew throughout this book and I can’t wait for the next book in the Havenport series!

The author told me people come for Declan but stay for Astrid because this is her story and damn did she nail that on the head. Astrid is a lawyer (so clearly I already loved her) who gets fired from her job after she rejects a male boss' advances. This book has heart! Astrid leaves Boston to stay at her Aunts house in Havenport which is a small town on the New England coastline. Havenport reminds me so much of the town where I live and I absolutely adore it and all the side characters in this book. It's steamy, sweet and watching Astrid grow from a cold-corporate lawyer to a woman who realizes she wants to do more than make a lot of big corporations more money is inspiring. All of that while we get to hang with our favorite Grumpy fisherman, Declan, who is hot and oh so sweet it's actually surprising. He doesn't come off Grumpy at all and I must admit I didn't love him in the first book (so grumpy!) But with Astrid he comes out of his shell and he is her rock, rather than making her be his. It's not the class trope, it's turned on its head and I loved it and I hope you will too!

Don't miss out on this wonderful book from an awesome author. Excited for her next one!

Welcome back to Havenport! It's the middle of winter, and the youngest Quinn brother has just gotten engaged. So the pressure is on for the other two.

Declan is a certified bachelor. He doesn't date, ever. The only female in his life besides his mother is his dog, Ginger, who hates people as much as he does.

Astrid is an ice queen. She has spent her life achieving but never really living.

These two find themselves suddenly neighbors. Will the fire between them thaw their frozen hearts?

This is a super sexy friends to lovers fake dating romance.

I love this second book in Daphne Elliot's Havenport series! In fact, this is Daphne's second published book, and it is as wonderful as the first. If you have not yet read Trusting You, be sure you read it. Though each book can be read as stand-alone, readers gain so much more insight into the characters by reading in order each book in the series.

This is the small town romance story of Declan Quinn, older brother of Liam Quinn from Trusting You, and Astrid Wentworth and how they turn a fake relationship into true love. Declan is a bearded, long-haired, grumpy fisherman, while Astrid is a beautiful and high-powered corporate Attorney.

My very first girl crush is Astrid Wentworth. She is one amazing accomplished kickass heroine. She is the perfect partner for Declan Quinn, our quiet, introverted, dog-loving, and intuitive hero. Any man who loves a dog and treats her like his princess, including treating her to spa services at a spendy pet spa is super sexy in my eyes. His having long hair, worn a man-bun, raises his appeal. His ability to read what Astrid needs, and provide it for her, makes him the perfect man!

Declan and Astrid are perfect for one another. They are able to bring out the best in each other, despite neither of them being interested in a real relationship. Daphne Elliot's writing of Astrid and Declan's story had me laughing many times while reading Finding You. One of my favorite scenes (other than the off-the-charts super HOT sex) is when we learn that Ginger, Declan's first love (his beloved poodle mix) peed in his shoes when he screwed up and sent Astrid away. 😂😂😂Even Ginger, usually a grumpy dog (cat in a dog body as described by Astrid), fell for Astrid.

Declan's parents must be mentioned in this review because they are definitely the impetus behind Declan's agreeing to be a fake boyfriend for Astrid, in exchange for her being his fake girlfriend. I totally felt the anguish and anger that Declan felt about his dad, the Captain, being unwilling to let him take over as CEO, despite his giving his life to the business for a decade. And his mother? She is *way* too much like my own mother as far as TMI. Declan's encounter with his mother had me laughing hysterically at times because I have been in situations just like those with my own mother.

His brothers also provide some comic relief as well as much needed prodding and advice to Declan. Astrid's mother is a less than desirable personality and it is evident that she never provided Astrid with what she needed emotionally as Astrid was growing up. Daphne did a great job writing Mrs Wentworth as an unfeeling witch. If only I could have reached through the pages and gotten to her mother!

I am most impressed with Daphne Elliot's ability and willingness to eloquently and realistically bring light to the issue of sexual harassment in the workplace and gender bias. These are very serious and very real issues that women face every day. Astrid's battle with these issues in her work life, and impact on her personal life, is inspiring to read. If only there could be more women like Astrid, willing to step up the way she does, we could see the end of these issues in the workplace.

There is tremendous growth in both Astrid and Declan throughout the story. And the epilogue provides readers with a most satisfying look into Astrid and Declan's future together.

Can a fake relationship turn into something that has your heart beating so strongly that it goes through your whole body? Daphne writes an outstanding strangers to lover romance that you will not be able to put down. Can opposites attract?

Astrid is a strong and independent corporate lawyer that is spending time in Havenport, at her aunt's cottage. She needed the break from the big city, Boston, and away from her old job. She was working for a firm but after refusing the advances of one of the men in the firm she s fired for other causes. She worked hard for this firm and gave them 150% of herself to the point she had no life. Now she finds herself in Havenport in the middle of winter. She keeps to herself except she has noticed a very handsome man living across the street, Declan. She decides to talk to him and things progress from there. She starts to have friends and relaxes more than she has ever before. Is this place better than the big city hussle and bussle? Can she see herself living in Havenport or will she always be a big city girl?

Declan is the oldest of the Quinn brothers. He is the COO of his family's fishery and loves his job however, his father will not let him run the company. Declan feels that his father doesn't see him as responsible enough because he hasn't settled down yet. He is an ex-military man who is quiet and an introvert. He doesn't do relationships and usually hooks up with tourists because they leave and he never has to worry about relationships. He sees this beautiful woman that is living across the street and is intrigued by her beauty. When they finally meet he realizes that she is a strong, feisty and confident woman that doesn't put up with anything. Declan starts to have feelings for her but will he act upon them? He is known in the town to be the ultimate bachelor.

Their relationship is full of chemistry and laughs. They both need fake dates and decide to help one another. What could possibly go wrong? Will it backfire on them? Astrid is the perfect match for Declan with her feistiness and him being an introvert. He sees Astrid and understands everything she needs.

Declan is the perfect book-boyfriend and Astrid is a badass heroine that you want in your corner. Daphne has you hooked right from the start. She also does an amazing job of writing about the sexual harassment that happens in almost every part of the world. Her decision on how Astrid deals with it gives the reader insight into how to deal with it.

I cannot wait for the next installment in her Havenport series. What will she have in store for us is the big question.

Daphne Elliot takes us back to Havenport for this opposites attract romance story that will warm your romantic heart, and have you absolutely wanting to devour it in one sitting.
When Declan the sexy, broody, and sweet, fisherman and business owner, meets his temporary neighbour Astrid, hearts flutter and sparks fly.
However Astrid is a smart, beautiful, and kick-ass corporate lawyer who will be leaving town when her current predicament is resolved.
While a long-term relationship may not be on the cards a temporary fake-relationship while she is in town could be beneficial for them both.
When lines are crossed and hearts become involved can Declan let Astrid leave town? and can Astrid who has also formed new friendships and fallen in love with Havenport return to her old life leaving everything and everyone including Declan behind?
Elliot sure knows how to write a small town romance. Not only was this sweet, sexy, and a little frustrating (because men, seriously), but she manages to paint a picture of a town you wish you could visit, and includes secondary characters that has you wanting to become a member of the girl 'coven' or a family member either from blood or marriage because seriously these brothers!!!!

A beautiful addition to the Havenport series!! I can't wait for more especially after the little sneak of what's to come...

A Highly Recommended Read!

What do you get when you cross a workaholic badass lawyer with a broody bearded fisherman? Freaking romance perfection… that’s what you get!

I adore Declan and Astrid and their sweet relationship. Astrid was wrongly fired from her job as a hotshot lawyer in Boston so she sought solace in the nearby tiny town of Havenport. Declan, who is somewhat reclusive, is her neighbor and they quickly meet and realize they can help one another by faking a relationship. Betcha can guess how that played out… ;)

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and I honestly freaking LOVE this series!!!!

Finding you is the second book in the Havenport series by Daphne Elliott. This book can be read as a standalone, but Trusting You is a great book, so I recommend reading it first.

I really enjoyed reading Finding You and got annoyed when I had to pause reading to be an adult.
Both characters had an extensive development throughout the story, especially Astrid, the heroine.
At first, she was a cold-hearted lawyer, but she turned into a warm person who wanted to fight for others and be a part of a community.
In the first Havenport book, Declan came across as a moody person who preferred to be alone. I was happy to discover why he is like this and that there is more to him than he shows. I fell in love with his big soft heart.
The progress of the characters is one of the things I loved the most in this story.

There was a real small-town vibe with friends, mean people, and people who were in the main characters' business.
This is also a fake dating romance, although it is obvious it will soon become a reality.

Finding You was a well-developed, original story with realistic characters. I was able to relate with both the hero and heroine and connected with them immediately.

If you love small-town romance with familiar characters and some steam, this is a story you can't miss.

I received an ARC from the author and am leaving this honest review voluntarily.

What do you get when you combine a grumpy fisherman with a corporate lawyer? A slow burn, friends to lovers, fake relationship story that has all the chemistry, steam and witty banter you can handle!! Ends with a HEA and an epilogue!

I absolutely loved Astrid and her take no crap attitude. She was such a strong female character who ends up trying to determine what her future holds for her.

Declan is the best broody, alpha teddy bear any woman could ask for. Despite having all he could ask for, he doesn’t realize the one thing he’s missing in his life until he ruins it all.

This is the second book in the Havenport series and I’ve been waiting for Declan’s story since the first book.

Astrid was a lawyer until harassment claims cost her, her job. Now she’s living next door to the grumpiest man alive.

Declan is an introverted grumpy fisherman. He needs a fake girlfriend to get his mother to stop her matchmaking ways. Enter Astrid, his sexy next door neighbor.

Finding you is a sweet small town romance, where opposites attract and even the grumpiest of men can find the love of his life.

Declan with his broody lumber jack charm finds himself falling for the high priced ambitious attorney who’s just visiting, it’s everything he wants, right?
I am a sucker for a broody hero, and Declan is no different with his loner personality and need to be recognized for all his hard work in the family business. I have had my eye on him since book 1 and he definitely did not disappoint! Astrid was everything he needed and didn’t know! I love this series.
This is such a great story! Definitely a must read book! It can be read as a standalone, but if you can read two great books, why wouldn’t you? And book 1, Trusting You- is another great book!

If you need a place to re-discover yourself after a great work fall out, Havenport is the place you should visit. Not only you have a beautiful view of the town and yummy food, but you could have the possibility of being temporary with a delicious broody fisherman neighbor and his dog. This is how Astrid Wentworth ended up meeting Declan Quinn and his dog Ginger.

Daphne Elliot gives us two people with very similar personalities that help each other by not only faking a relationship, but also giving them personal growth and confidence to achieve their career goals and self discovery.

I could related with Astrid work expectations deeply, though we were in different lines of work, is an issue that should be fight and spoken no matter what industry any of us are.

Once again, Havenport showed that you can find friends, family and love with a change of scenery.

Can I move to Havenport?

Astrid is an intelligent, motivated corporate attorney who takes a break in Havenport to reassess options. There she meets Declan, an ex-military, dog-loving beefcake (you love him already, don't you?)
Despite the instant chemistry leaping off the page, these two take their sweet time to move from "fake relationship" to real, hot AF couple goals, which is frustrating as hell as you just want them to hurry up and find each other. I love that Astrid wasn't your typical girl next door. Love a strong woman who knows her mind and let's him know it too. As always, the course of love never runs smoothly.
Gorgeous detail of locations, friends and Astrid's career make this a well rounded story. Yet another late night spent reading as I didn't want it to end.
Make sure you access the bonus epilogue material, some of my favourite scenes. 😁

This is the second book from Daphne Elliot and I just fell in love with this story!

Daphne’s writing style is really on par with Adriana Locke and Claire Kingsley as far as small town, family style series and HEAVY on the steam. So if you enjoy their books, Daphne’s should be right up your reading alley!

The chemistry between the main characters, Astrid and Declan, just rolls off the pages. You would think Declan would be a total alpha male, but Astrid is the real alpha and it’s badass.

My favorite part of this book is the epilogue, instead of a standard “and they lived happily ever after”... you get years later sneak peek into their lives and it sweetly ties up all the magic of the story.

***ARC Review***

I was so excited for this book! Declan captured my heart in the first book of the series and I honestly could not wait to get his story! While I still loved Declan during this book Astrid was the star for me! I loved Astrid! She is strong, confident, and knows herself. She's also so full of rage at all of the shit she has been through working as a corporate lawyer. She is tough and badass and I kind of want to be her best friend and dance to Lizzo together! Haha.

Her and Declan's love story is as sweet as they come! Friends to lovers, fake relationship, the literal girl next door; this book has it all. And a lot of spice! The sex scenes are FIRE!

Daphne Elliot came out with a super strong debut novel and has seemed to already grow so much as a writer with her second novel! I cannot wait to read more from this author!

Finding You is another solid romance from Daphne Elliot and while it can be read as a standalone, I suggest starting with Trusting You so you get a bit more of a feel for the hero in this book.
I always appreciate when characters grow throughout a story and both Declan and Astrid grew a lot during this story. We met Declan in book one; the middle Quinn brother is a brooding, loner type that is currently running the family’s fishery business and trying to convince his father it is time he is named CEO. While Declan would prefer to be out on the boats, he has taken over operating the business especially after his father’s heart attack months back. Declan feels a bit like an outsider in his family, choosing to serve in the Navy instead of getting a college degree and he doesn’t feel like he has the respect of his father and while he knows his mother loves him her incessant need to set him up with women so he’ll settle down keeps him from spending much time with his parents. Astrid is new in town and staying in her aunt’s cottage across the street from Declan’s home. As a corporate mergers and acquisitions lawyer she has worked hard to make a name for herself in her firm, but after refusing the advances of a senior partner she is accused of screwing up a merger and put on leave although they’ve let her know she will probably be fired pending an investigation as she refused to sign an agreement to now sue the firm in exchange for a severance package and a reference. She returns to Havensport where she spent summers with her aunt and her cousin as her attorney now judge mother was too busy to pay her any attention. Her whole identity is tied up in her profession and she feels lost and alone until she meets Declan who immediately takes a liking to her.
These two seem like complete opposites but as their friendship progresses, they agree to be fake boyfriend/girlfriend to each attend an event with the other. The more time they spend together, they share their hopes, dreams, and insecurities and they begin to see that under Declan’s broody exterior and Astrid’s ice queen exterior are some driven but sweet individuals just trying to make it through life. I absolutely love the Astrid found a friend group thanks to her cousin and they supported her throughout this book and I also appreciated that Declan started the conversation with his father about assuming the CEO title at the fishery.
I enjoyed watching their relationship grow and change and despite the missteps along the way, I was rooting for them both throughout.
Finding You was a well developed, wonderful, small town romance and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Finding You is book two in the Havenport series. All the books are standalone, but you’ll really have a great time if you read all of them.

A corporate lawyer who is wrongly accused and fired from her job in a law firm where she put all her hard work, 24/7. She goes to her aunt’s town to regroup and figure out what to do next, but she doesn't count on living across the street with a broody fisherman, Jason Momoa kinda guy, who jogs and does some pushups, as she peeks at him from her porch. They get to know each other, and plot a fake romance, so she has a date for the upcoming ball and he gets his family off his back. But things just get complicated.

Astrid is a badass woman and has an intimidating posture. Thanks for all the years of being a kick-ass lawyer. She doesn’t take crap for an answer and she gets what she wants. Astrid has just come to terms with the life she has, working hard to climb ladders, but as the story goes, the reader understands her family background and all the pressure and loneliness she had as growing up, making her build a stone-cold carapace.

Declan is the scruffy, grumpy, and hot fisherman that life taught him to keep to himself. With his stutter problem growing up and bullies giving him a hard time, he closed himself off and preferred to stay on the sidelines. He has a quiet and lonely life with his dog. The fishing business is his passion, and the love for his family is unconditional. His relationship with his brothers is worthy of some laughs.

Declan and Astrid are great together. They complete each other in their qualities and flaws, and their romance is full of steam! They help each other grow as a person and see that life is always giving new possibilities and new starts. Encouraging one another to take the reins of their lives and fighting for what’s right and kicking some asses in the process.

There is too much detail about the town, and sometimes I found myself skimming the pages to get to the juicy part faster, but other than that, I loved the story from beginning to end. The characters are very relatable and you grow to love not only them, but the entire town to bits. If you love small town romance, you can't miss this one.

This was a really awesome story about two loners who meet each other and start out as friends and then form a fake relationship for convenience.

Astrid Wentworth is a kick ass lawyer who lives and works in Boston until she loses her job because of sexual harrassment and ends up living in a cottage near her cousin Emily in Havenport, MA while she waits for her companies investigation on complaints against her. But she also needs a date for a gala where is getting an award.

Declan is 35 and her HOT and grumpy neighbor. He also is close to his family but his mom is in matchmaker mode and so he needs a girlfriend to make all her matches stop. He also is the older brother to Liam, who if you read the first book in the series got together with Cece and is now engaged to her.

This was a stand alone book but book 2 in the series. If you read this book you will not be lost if you did not read the first book in the series. And if you read the first book, you will love seeing Cece and Liam and their friends in this book.

Astrid and Dec are awesome characters. Astrid looks like a super model but carries herself like a CEO but inside she is a loner and a big nerd about her job. Dec is a loner who is at heart a fisherman but he looks like a big, burly lumberjack. They both don't like people but when they meet they find they like each other and a friendship developes.

I loved the first book in the series but I absolutely adored this book as well. It is very well written and I absolutely adored Astrid and Dec but together I fell in love with their hearts and chemistry. This was an awesome read and I loved every moment of it.

I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I fell in love with Havenport reading Trusting You, and this book is even better!!

You met Declan Quinn in the previous book and I am so glad this book is about him. He is a broody, quiet, bachelor that does not do relationships. Astrid was just fired from her lawyer job and needs a place to regroup. She goes to her aunt's cottage and meets her hot new neighbor, Quinn. Astrid and Quinn understand each other. Astrid is blunt and tells it like it is while enjoying the quiet. Quinn is broody and doesn't say much, but for some reason loves talking to Quinn. They both need dates to different functions and decide to have a "fake" relationship. Quinn needs to prove to his dad that he can settle down and take over the family's fishing business, and Quinn needs a date to a gala that her former employee will be at. But we all know that nothing can stay fake for long!

This book was amazing! Astrid is my kind of girl. She is a tough, take no prisoners kind of girl and that is what Declan needs. Being in this small town really helps Astrid. She finds friends like never before and really starts to learn what makes her happy. The two of them just make sense together. They understand each other like no one else does, and even though their relationship starts out as fake, they both develop feelings pretty quickly. Another reason why I loved this book, the "true feelings" are not hidden for long. They both confess pretty quickly how they really feel and it goes to a real relationship pretty quickly.

I cannot wait for the next one. Also, can Nora get her own book please?!?! I want to do what the deal is between her and Lucas Kim!

Title: Finding You
Author: Daphne Elliot
Hero/Heroine: Declan & Astrid
Trope: Small Town/Fake Relationship

THE GOOD 😁

Well folks, Daphne Elliot has only gone and done it again. Book two in the Havenport series was just as incredible as book one, and Declan? Woah momma, that is one hot AF grumpy fisherman.
Don’t get me wrong I loved everything about this book, however the one thing that stood out for me was Astrid. Strong, feisty and determined to fight against the patriarchy, she didn’t let anyone stand in her way. After rejecting unwanted advances from a creepy ass colleague at the law firm where she works, she is cast aside quicker than you can say ‘I object’. Moving to Havenport temporarily to breathe and reboot, she meets the delectable Declan and from this point on these two lit my kindle on fire.
Declan, wonderful broody Declan. So stubborn and set in his ways, he’s understandably shocked when he finds himself drawn to Astrid. I loved witnessing the personal growth of both of these characters; Astrid in realising that there’s more to life than working, and Declan realising that, for the first time in his life, he’s ready for a relationship.
From sledgehammers as Valentines gifts to Astrid handing out the arse kicking of a lifetime (this was one of my favourite parts), Finding You was an absolute joy from beginning to end. Book three seriously cannot come quick enough.

THE BAD ☹️

Why isn’t Declan real?

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of this book to read. This is my honest review.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: A sweet and steamy small town romance with a kick ass heroine, need I say more?
STEAM LEVEL: 🔥🔥🔥
STAR RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"Finding You" is the second in the Havenport series by Daphne Elliot, and I have to say, it was better than the first (Trusting You). Declan and Astrid, our featured protagonists, are much more relatable and likeable as characters, and it was nice to get more insight into their lives and motivations -- Astrid, the high-powered mergers and acquisitions lawyer, and Declan, the fisherman who actually runs a whole big company. While I have read the first story about Liam and Cece, its not necessary -- this one stands on its own, though you do get to see many of the same characters from the first, which is nice to check in on. Better communication between these characters, and just a rather swoonworthy story of how they get together. I did have to dock a star based on the timeline issues -- I think the author got lost a few times around when things were happening in trying to stretch the story over a couple of months, so a few times "several weeks went by" but those several weeks were cut to 2 days a few pages later -- made it a bit unclear how fast certain things were happening (and for a few of them, those 2 days made a lot more sense than "several weeks" passing). There were also a few things that happened, that it felt like there was no follow-up on -- just ignored for "weeks" which again, didn't feel realistic. But on the whole, this was a fun, quick read! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
