Darkly is part of the Follow Me series and is the POV of the mysterious Braden Black, the self-made billionaire. He's possessive, dominant, desirable, and sexy as hell. He has worked hard to be where he is and never forgets where he's come from but he holds secrets, he's had me intrigued. The way he keeps his emotions hidden, I could never really understand him but with his POV we find out a little more but I am still sitting here with unanswered burning questions!
There is so much hidden inside him and the reason he loves and craves the darker side of passion and sex.
Bradens POV in Darkly sheds a little light on him but there is still so much to uncover. One thing is for sure, he's become a favourite character that Helen has written and I have fallen even more in love with him and the growing love story between him and Skye. As always, the author delivered an all-consuming, dark, delicious and sexy read adding even more heat and action to the story!

Bradens POV in Darkly sheds a little light on him but there is still so much to uncover. This book is written so differently I actually thought I was re-reading Follow Me Darkly. But a brilliant method of completing this story!
Darkly is written from Braden’s Point of View (POV) and follows the sequences and conversations in the prior book. So reading Follow Me Darkly is a must! And what a treat anyway!
Dominant and controlling, this guy meets his match with Skye who also loves control. But she also loves giving up control to Braden. The struggle is real and Hardt continually thrills us with fire and passion between these two. Watching Braden listen and fall to what his heart is saying is something else.
Deep, dark, and delicious, Darkly not only kills it with the amazing cover, but the explosive passion and spice is written as only Hardt can do. This story is not only addicting but a compulsion too! I simply could not get enough!

It wasn’t until I reached the acknowledgements at the end of this novel that I realized this novel is a different perspective of an already published book by the same author called, “Follow Me Darkly”. Similar to “Fifty Shades of Grey” and “Grey” by E.L. James, the original novel was published from the female’s point of view and this subsequent novel is from the male’s perspective.
Without knowing that there was a series that already had been published from the female’s perspective, I really liked how different it was reading this novel from the dominant male’s perspective. For some reason, this style of novel is most commonly written from a submissive female’s perspective so this novel read differently which I enjoyed.
Predictably, this novel is quite steamy. If you want a steamy novel, this is a good one to pick up. However, where the steaminess of this novel levels up, the storyline is somewhat lacking. It’s just okay. There’s nothing spectacular and it’s pretty repetitive to the rich man dominant/submissive female storyline.
Read this for the HOT steam and you won’t be disappointed but don’t expect miracles from he plot and storyline.

Really enjoyed this steamy dom/sub romance novel!
Author Helen Hardt gives us a book from Braden's point of view- the hero from her Follow Me trilogy that is told from the pov of Skye, the heroine. Braden is a billionaire alpha male type, and watching him fall for Skye made me want to read the trilogy! Skye is fantastic, I love how she states her boundaries and doesn't put up with Braden's attitude, which gets harsh and irritating at times.
The smut is great, descriptive and with more flavors than the average romance novel. Braden has a special talent for turning everything into dirty talk, and Skye (and the reader) get's to enjoy his talents.
However, since Braden does want a dominant/submissive relationship, I really needed him to be clearer about safe words and boundaries. He understood that the submissive can always say no, but I really needed him to explain that out loud to Skye, who didn't have any experience with this kind of relationship. Safety first.
Still, I really enjoyed this novel and would definitely read the rest of the series.

Darkly is the perfect continuation of one of my favorite book series from Helen Hardt. It's steamy, dark, and addicting!
I am a huge fan of the 'Follow Me' series by Helen Hardt and I was ecstatic when I found out that she wrote a book from Braden's perspective. It was absolutely worth the read.
Braden Black is a fascinating man because of his secretive and mysterious nature. In this book, readers get a chance to see some of his past, get a bit of reasoning behind his dominant nature, and even see the more vulnerable side to the man. I liked reading about scenes from the previous books and understand why he made certain choices and distanced himself from Skye. I love Skye and Braden together and I enjoyed getting to see his vulnerable side and how precious their arrangement is to him. Now, there are still some questions I had including his time with Addison, but the anticipation is perfection!
I give Darkly 5 stars! It's a sensual romance that left me begging for more. Helen Hardt is one of my favorite authors because she knows how to captivate a reader with her words. Braden's perspective is intriguing and seductive and I already want more. For readers who are looking for the next Fifty Shades series, this is the one! I wish this series could be turned into a movie because I am totally invested in this book and series!!

Helen Hardt writes the best addictive romance novels today. I really enjoyed Follow Me Darkly so reading DARKLY and seeing it from Braden Black's perspective was an incredible read for me. This had a great story line that is dark, steamy and completely fun read for romance lovers. The writing is completely captivating and seductive. It was absolutely perfect I read this in one sitting.

Darkly by Helen Hardt is the third book in the
Follow Me
series but it does not take place after the events of Follow Me Under. Instead, we are given Braden Black's perspective during the events of Follow Me Darkly and how he met and fell in love with Skye Manning. I did not expect to get my heart broken but it did anyway. It felt like I went back in time and witnessed Braden and Skye's blossoming relationship and love story. What makes this even more heartbreaking is that their relationship, specifically following the events of Follow Me Under, is in tatters. Skye loses her identity and control for Braden but at the cost of everything including her relationship with him.
I have been wanting Braden Black's point of view ever since I read Follow Me Darkly. He was always so mysterious, controlling, and evasive about his past relationships. He is still secretive and refuses to talk about his past but we are able to understand him and see the depth of his obsession with Skye a lot clearer in Darkly. He truly did fall in love with her. This book added a much needed layer and depth to the first book because we are given glimpses of Braden's past, his feelings for Skye, and what he did when he was away from her. It had all of the conversations from the first book in addition to new scenes between Braden and his brother, Ben. I still wanted to smack Braden for hurting and distancing himself from Skye. Ironically, he was also torturing himself while trying to figure out his feelings for her.
In the end, Darkly is the perfect companion book to Follow Me Darkly. It was sensual, erotic, romantic, and even heartbreaking if you are caught up in the series and know what happened between Braden and Skye. I enjoyed this book and will be looking forward to seeing how it will all end in Follow Me Always. I loved traveling back in time and seeing how they met and eventually fell in love. There was almost a sweet quality to it. Of course, Braden and Skye are incredibly sexy together as well and their love scenes were scorching hot. Fans of Helen Hardt and the Follow Me series will definitely appreciate this latest installment!

It was nice getting Braden's side of the story and seeing what makes him tick. Skye is such an independent person and works really hard so it was nice to know just what drives Braden to be as assertive as he is. In Darkly, you get to see how Braden grew up and hear more about his childhood and the bond he has with his brother. We are still left in the dark about the secret he has with Addison but little pieces are beginning to come together. I've been so in awe of Skye and how she takes charge of her life so it's nice to tead that Braden felt the same way. Can't Wait for the next book in the series so we can hopefully uncover the secret and see if Braden and Skye get their HEA.

And here I though that there wasn't anything more of Braden Black for me to love. But leave it to Helen Hardt to prove me wrong!
In this book we get Braden's perspective of the story. You would have thought I hadn't read the story before with the way I was swooning and crushing on Braden! I was riveted, once again completely invested in his story. From the moment he first laid eyes on Skye to the moment he came to realize how deeply he had fallen for her, Braden Black never failed to surprise me. I enjoyed learning about his past, his family and his business. Seeing him in different environments and how he interacted with the different people he came upon, showed him to be a multi-faceted person who made someone of himself but never forgot where he came from or the people who have always been there for him. I loved seeing all these sides to him and having him telling his story gave me insight into some things that happened book 2.
Of course, it was hot reading his side of the story (as expected!) but for me it was so much more than that. I could finally see some vulnerability, a chink in his armor you might say. IDK, I just fell in love with him all over again. And well, I am much more invested in the outcome of this romance that I previously was.
Fantastic writing, great insight into the man Braden is and an even more erotic side of the story. All in all, a must read for any Braden Black fan.

Darkly is absolutely phenomenal.
The POV of Braden Black, the devilishly handsome, mysteriously charming and ruthless businessman we fell in love with in Follow Me Darkly is mind blowing. It brings his side of their story in full view and I loved every single word.
We've been in Skyes mind, felt her emotions and conflicts. We've seen their story unfold and held on to each moment. Falling in love with these two extraordinary characters was easy, however we've seen it all through one perspective. Until now!
Braden Black had me intrigued. He had me wanting to know more and he always keeps his emotions tightly controlled. We couldn't get a true read on his thoughts and now, we do. He's still a mystery we need to see unfold. He has a so much inside we are craving to learn about.

I loved the fact that Helen Hardt gave us Braden's POV because for some reason I love reading the male's POV more than I do the females. And Braden's POV surely did not disappoint.
We get to know how Braden felt when he met Skye and how it all started when they first bumped into each other. I loved reading how it all unraveled and how he realized how his feelings for Skye were beyond what he expected or wanted to happen. Braden didn't do relationships but he was willing to give it a try with Skye. She was alluring, sexy, smart and everything he never thought he would end up falling for. She was the perfect package for him. She had everything he looked for in a woman and he certainly loved the fact that she gave him hell in giving up her control in the bedroom. Giving up her control in the bedroom was the first step, he eventually wanted her to give up all control to him.
This series has certainly been very erotic and sensual and there is so much love between these two individuals that I enjoyed reading their story. I can't wait to finish reading this story and how their HEA will end up.

We get to know how Braden felt when he met Skye and how it all started when they first bumped into each other. I loved reading how it all unraveled and how he realized how his feelings for Skye were beyond what he expected or wanted to happen. Braden didn't do relationships but he was willing to give it a try with Skye. She was alluring, sexy, smart and everything he never thought he would end up falling for. She was the perfect package for him. She had everything he looked for in a woman and he certainly loved the fact that she gave him hell in giving up her control in the bedroom. Giving up her control in the bedroom was the first step, he eventually wanted her to give up all control to him.

If you didn't know, this book is part of the Follow Me Series. Instead of being in Skye’s point of view, one of the main characters, it’s in Braden Black’s point of view. If you know me well and have read my review for the first two books in the Follow Me Series you know I am not a fan of Braden Black. Now, you might be thinking to yourself, “Sara, why are you even reading this book if you don’t like the main character??” I know. It may seem silly, but the second I saw that this book was coming out I knew I needed to read it. I wanted to see, understand and get into Braden’s brain. He’s mysterious, ruthless and persistent. Though I still detest him very much, I really loved reading through his point of view. It really helped me understand him and the logic behind everything he does. I still believe this man is a total jackass, but we see a softer side to him and now know how he truly feels about Skye. I thought this book was great and I’m so glad the author decided to show us Braden’s side to everything. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

Having read Helen Hardt's Steel Brothers Saga and Blood Bond Saga, I was interested to dive into the Follow Me Books. But of course I started out of order with book 4, Darkly, which is written from Braden Blacks perspective. The reader learns Braden especially doesn't appreciate when he's denied what he wants, especially with women.
In the Follow Me Series, he meets his match in Skye Manning, who gives him a run for his money with control in his bedroom. Together, they challenge each other on and off the sheets, but he wants more. He wants her TOTAL control to feed his dark fantasies.
Keeping with Hardt's previous books, Darkly doesn't shy away from love making. Every chapter details some level of Braden's carnal cravings. The reader shouldn't be shocked at the language, descriptions and toys in their fornication, especially if you have read Book 1 or 2 in the Follow Me Series.
I believe Darkly can be read prior to reading Book 1, Follow Me Darkly. So I guess I will adding new books to my to be read pile to get caught-up on the series prior to Book 3's release in July.

Darkly is the fourth book on the Follow Me series and is Branden's POV but can also be read either before of after book one Follow Me Darkly.
I devoured this story, seen a different POV from a different character always gives you a different perspective and is like you are reading a whole new story.
Branden is successful and dominant in all aspects of his life. He has work very hard to accomplish everything he has without forgetting his humble roots. He keeps his past and emotions hidden. He doesn't do relationships but when he meets Skye Manning his feelings change towards her, he wants her control and he'll do everything to obtain it.
Branden introduces Skye to a new side of sex. The more darker side of sex. So be prepare for a very steamy ride.
Loved the story and can't wait for the conclusion of this series.

I have to say I liked the book more in Braden's POV. In Follow Me Darkly, it was only in Skye's POV so we have no idea what was going through Braden's mind. He was totally a mystery. In Darkly, he was still mysterious, but we know more of what he was thinking about.
This was definitely an erotic BDSM series. Braden met Skye, and it was lust at first sight. lol They were attracted to each other. Skye was hesitant at first, but Braden wouldn't let her go. He'll do everything he can to win her over. The more they spent time together, he didn't realized that he was falling for her. It was more than just getting her to sleep with him now.
I need more of the things that goes through Braden's head. Looking forward to book 2 of his pov.

Skye has really struck it rich, so to speak, when meeting Braden, but Braden gained the most. He found himself. How to care, how to look beyond the surface, how to LOVE!
I so loved reading Darkly, in Braden Blacks P.O.V. Books are so seldom written in the man's point of view, that when it's done, it's devoured, wholly like with this book.

Just wow!!
Braden Black shows you a new side of enigmatic, intense, dark, sweet and sexy.
I said Follow me dearly was a perfect mix of sweet and dark but reading it from Braden’s side just makes it even more perfect and it makes you fall deeper in love with them.
Braden is intense and learning more about him and why he is the way he is has been amazing, I absolutely loved this book, I just love when we get to the male’s POV and of course this was no exception.

Absolutely loved reading the story from Braden's POV. It really brought both books together being able to be in his head. We learn more about his past, his preferences and more importantly see his vulnerability. In book one of the series we just get Braden from Skye's POV and he comes off as cold and selfish sometimes but through Darkly we learn why.
It was also scorching hot!!
I hope the author writes all three books in both characters perspective, I think it really adds to the story!

Finally Braden's POV - We all fell in love with the beginning of Braden and Skye's story and waited patiently to read it from Braden's POV and we were not disappointed!! Loved the connection, loved the steam, loved the drama. Perfection in between the pages.

This book was like reading the Follow Me books again, just from his POV instead of hers. Same scenes, same story & cant say I was huge fan of this. It was done with Fifty Shades books & I didnt care for those either.

Loved Braden’s POV! You get to see why he is what he is, but there’s still so much mystery to him! I fell harder for him in this novel then the original - So much steam and dark romance you won’t want to put this down!

I have no words once again Helen Hardt kills it!!!! Absolutely loved this wildly sexy novel from Brandens side of the story. Its hot and heavy and leaves you wanting more...i read this in a day i couldnt put it down!

Scorching hot!! So this is a companion to book 2 in the original series (Follow Me). However, you could read just Follow Me Darkly and then Darkly and only get Braden's POV. It might be an interesting way to read the series, especially if you prefer the male POV. The plot is seriously hot and the characters are likable. Honestly, this series is just really engaging and interesting.

Triggers: BDSM with strong power exchange elements.
To be honest I really can't stand books that are retold from another characters perspective especially in dark romances. My biggest dislike is retelling from the hero or antiheroes perspective. I find it often ruins the edge from the dark elements of the orginal. The thrilling and often scary feeling of the unknown. It often ruins the reveal of the anti-heroes feelings at the end of the book.
So that being said...
Darkly was a comple surprise to me. I absolutely loved it. It helped that Braden wasn't a complete jerk in Follow Me books. So reading his feelings and his journey towards love made sense. He wasn't emotionless and he and the world thought but it takes time for him to understand what he's feeling. Darkly stands as a great book alone but it brings greater context to the Follow Me books. It deepens the narrative and gives it richness. Basically it doesn't have all things I hate about retellings. It doesn't weaken the tellers stance in the first book. It doesn't conterdict the first books narrative. The story is told in way that allows it on its own. Each scene that is a repeat is told in an unique way rather than feeling like the same scene it feels new. The sex scenes are just as hot if not hotter by adding Braden's perspective.
Even though I know the book was written in response to audience demand and released quickly it does not feel like a rushed book. In fact, I have to applaud Helen Hardt on writing an excellent book in a very short amount of time.
Whether you've read the series or not this is a great read. If you aren't a fan of retellings I strongly suggest giving Darkly a try anyways. It's not a long read and in my opinion is a more than worthwhile one. I am even more of a Helen Hardt fan than I was before. Every book she writes shows strong story telling skills. Her mastery of the written word just gets more must read as time goes on.

Helen’s Follow Me Series is written from Skye’s POV- in Darkly we get Braden. So, buckle up and be prepared to fall more in love with this Dom as all his thoughts and feelings are revealed by him. And, getting glimpses of young Braden along the way. Having read the Follow Me Series is not necessary, but if you are like me, you will love to get both POV’s! In Darkly we have a first class seat into the mind of Braden, how his past shaped his future, and we get to watch him fall hard for Skye. Helen keeps us on pins and needles as his past and secret with Addison Ames is referred to but never revealed. Which shows us from Braden’s POV how detrimental to him revisiting his past would be.
When Braden’s past, in the form of Addison Ames, drives him to impulsively call her out on social media he meets her assistant Skye Manning and it is lust at first sight.
After convincing her to have dinner with him, he finds himself having to work hard to convince her into his bed. He finds himself in deep with Skye. She is bringing out emotions that go beyond what he experiences with his usual “relationships”.
Braden wants to slowly introduce Skye into his world, one that includes his club in New York, Black Rose Underground. However, Skye insists on boundaries, respect and just plain more. And, Braden gives in. As their relationship both physical and emotional progresses, Braden finds himself making promises, feeling emotions, and wanting more from Skye than he ever has from anyone else.
