I had not heard of this serial killer from Arkansas as it was before my time. However, it's surprising that he hasn't appeared in other true crime books.
Although some few theories are introduced to explain Hall's murderous tendencies, from an abusive childhood to a head injury, it appears that he failed to bond with anyone in infancy and never developed feelings for anyone throughout his life.
It is unknown how many he killed, and he claimed to not know himself. He was tried for a single murder and convicted on testimony and tangible evidence, so additional trials were not necessary.
I was very interested in reading about a previously unheard of by me, serial killer from the state of Arkansas. I was surprised how mundane the telling of this True Crime Story was. I finish reading it because I wanted to learn the facts of the case not because I found it to be compelling reading.
James Waybern Hall was indeed a complete sociopath who would do what he wanted, when he wanted. I do wonder how many people he's killed and how many lives he's ruined. Good riddance to bad rubbish, as we say.
