All Hallow’s Eve is a time for secrets to be unveiled…
Barvale might be home to one of the biggest Bear Shifter Clans in the entire continent of North America, but shhhh…it’s a secret!
“Crazy” Maisy Daniels couldn’t leave Barvale fast enough after high school. She’d earned that hated nickname after telling her classmates she’d seen a boy change into a Bear just behind the football field! A social pariah and the butt of every joke in her grade, it was no wonder she’d promised herself to never step foot in that godforsaken town again.
But when her dad has emergency surgery, who else can help? Maisy returns home to find things are a mess. The tractor is broken and there are only a few hours until the Daniels Farm Annual Haunted Halloween Hayride & Spooky Soiree begins. Unfortunately, the only repair shop open belongs to the bane of her high school days, Arthur Lance himself. It’s time for Maisy to just grin and bear it!
Arthur Lance just opened his third full-service garage and automotive repair shop in his hometown of Barvale, New Jersey. Business was going great, but his Bear wasn’t satisfied with a job well done. The silly animal was still pining for the one who got away back in high school. Burying himself in work was the only thing he could do to keep his beast placated and his human side sane.
When Maisy returns to town, Arthur can't believe his luck. Maybe this time around, he can reveal his secret, and win the girl.
Will Maisy accept him as her fated mate when he finally reveals the truth?

You can always come home This author has totally outdone herself with this whirlwind story of love, laughter, and maybe just a little revenge. How super sweet that these two characters finally get their HEA. I love the way they were able to find that connection and be what each other needed. The author kept me enthralled throughout with just the right mix between tricks and treats. I enjoy every time we visit Bearvale and I can only hope that we don’t have to wait too long before we stumble along those old town streets again.
This is a short ,fast paced shifter fated mate love story. The author brings strong characters in Maisy and Arthur in this sweet and sexy romance. Having had a crush on one another since high school but never having a chance to tell one another before she left town , he's determined to convince her she's his mate now that she's back in town. It's well written with descriptive scenes and is a great read.

Hers to Bear: A Barvale Halloween Tale (Barvale Holiday Tales Book 2) ARC REVIEW Crazy Maisy A cute story. Short and steamy, with added content since it's release from the anthology.
Another beary good book by our awesome sorceress of books Gorri-Sensei! I really loved Arthur and Maisy’s story. There was so much heat in this short novella! Once again our story is centred around a small tragedy to bring our mc’s together but there once again smack dab in the centre we are surrounded by family times, happiness and celebration and the coming together of the holiday spirits. Gorri sure can exploit and tug on the heartstrings when it comes to this. She has such a talent to show you the reader on how things should be. Lots of authors write about couples hooking up but Gorri goes that extra step by including family values and whole neighbourhood inclusion. I LOVE this. I will continue to say this in every review because many authors simply don’t take the time to do this but she does and she deserves recognition for this. Me being the hard charging Christian conservative I love family values and I love fellowship and celebration. We should all love these things. These stories are about true love, sure it has comedy and may have some strife and drama sprinkled in but the core meaning of the stories never change. I love her writing plain and simple. True works of art here. I love how Arthur takes matters into his own hands (chuckles) so to say when he sees Maisy for the first time after so many years. I couldn’t stop smiling. Hell, I was cheering 😂🥳. Lorna was such a catty heifer and we all know disgusting humans like her. It’s a shame they exist. I always smile when Marcus and Leya make a cameo… I just do. You truly need to read the Bear Claw series and the Barvale bears if you all haven’t read any of those books yet please get a move on. I give this book 5 bears 🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻 and 5 additional cosmic stars 💥💥💥💥💥because everything Gorri writes is out of this world .
I received this book as an ARC from the publisher for my unbiased review.
“Crazy” Maisy Daniels made the mistake of telling classmates in high school that she saw a guy turn into a Black Bear behind the stands at the football field. She was humiliated, bullied, and teased constantly after that. So when she graduated, she couldn’t get out of Barvale, New Jersey, fast enough, never wanting to see the place again. But her dad had a heart attack and coronary artery bypass graft and the doctor wanted him to get significant rest. She couldn’t ignore that he needed her help.
Sure enough, things at home were a mess with the tractor broken. It will be needed in a few hours for the big event, Daniels Farm Annual Haunted Halloween Hayride & Spooky Soiree. It needs to be ready for the hayride, but the only garage that can do that is owned by her high school nemesis, Arthur Lance. He’s the teenager she had seen change into a bear but no one believed her. Well, she has no other choice.
Arthur Lance is still dealing with his disgruntled bear who has been pining over Maisy since she left town. Hearing her voice on the phone, asking if he can send someone to the farm, gave him hope and set his bear off roaring MATE. He told her he would be right over to fix the tractor for her. It seemed fitting that she was dressed in costume as Goldilocks to greet her bear. Before she could object, his arms went around her and he kissed her, feeling her eager response that she accepted his kiss. He made her feel small, safe, and cherished. Could he tell her what he is? Could he explain they were fated mates and the complete love that guaranteed? Will she accept him and his bear?
Maisy has hated living in Barvale because people have laughed at her and called her Crazy Maisy for years. Her first year in high school she accidentally saw he crush Arthur Lance turn into a bear. In her shock, Maisy told the worst person in Barvale who share the story with everyone. From then on she was Crazy Maisy. As soon as she could Maisy moved away for college and life in the city. It has been several years and she is really beginning to hate her city job and life. Then she gets a call from Barvale and her father has had a bad heart attack. Maisy quits and goes home. Her dad is very worried since the big Halloween event on their farm is the next day so Maisy promises that she will take care of it.
Arthur Lance has felt guilty about Maisy for a long time now. He was shifting before the game to help settle his bear and Maisy caught him. He has been very attracted to Maisy and she might even be his mate. His clan Alpha won't let him defend Maisy so he has to listen to her being tormented for telling the truth. He was hoping that after high school, he could get to know Maisy more but she ran away from town. Now he is hoping to get another chance with Maisy if she ever comes back to town. His bear is still determined that she is his mate. Then He hears Maisy's dad is in the hospital and that Maisy is back. Maybe this will be his chance. Then Maisy's tractor for the hayride doesn't start and she calls Arthur.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the Barvale Holiday Tales series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Maisy was a girl who saw something she wasn’t supposed to see and when she told others about it high school was over as she knew it being called crazy Maisy the minute she graduated she left vowing never to return. Her father isn’t doing well thus ensuring her coming back to the very town that made her life miserable. Arthur sexy as all get out shifter, the reason they called his mate crazy because he was the boy who turned into a bear while at school. Now that she is back in town she needs his help to get the farm ready for the holiday thanks to fate things are falling just as it dictated the chemistry was intense (although denied by her mostly), the magnetic pull can’t be ignored but can Arthur convince her to stay his bear won’t have it any other way but can he, will she accept his apology, will they grab hold to the second chance and can their be happiness?
For Maisey life in the small town of Barvale was torture, couldn't wait to leave to find a place she belonged. Her only regret was not getting to know Arthur better, but her high-school days of teasing was all because she saw something she wasn't meant to. Arthur knew even in high school that Maisey was his fated mate but being so young how could he be sure. When she left right after graduation he was never able to confirm but she is back and nothing is going to stop him from confirming what he knew all those years ago. I love the romance based around the Halloween theme and the fierce attraction between characters. I love falling into the story and lives of C.D.'s characters, romance mixed with supernatural and fun.

Maisey accidentally saw Arthur (her secret crush in high school) turn into a bear. Scared and shocked she went running to the football field and ran into the most two-faced and meanest girl in school and blurted out what she had seen. Lorna took advantage of her tale and called her “crazy Maisey”and made fun of her. Her high school years were painful and she promised once she was done with school, she would leave and never come back. That was 10 years ago and now she was back home to help her father run the farm because he had a heart attack. Arthur crushed on Marie too, but he never got the chance to get close to her, but his bear called her his mate. He is getting a second chance and he’s not letting her go until he tells her everything. Entertaining, sweet, and heartwarming read.

Book: Hers to Bear (Barvale Holiday Tales #2) Author: C.D. Gorri My Rating: 5 Stars Reviewed by: Tammy - Book Nook Nuts
REVIEW I read this book previously in an Anthology. I am leaving my review now for the single book.
Maisy was so happy to finally go away to college. Barvale was her home yes but ... but in high school, it became her worst nightmare. During a football game in high school, Maisy sees something that causes her to become the laughing stock of all the kids. Arthur knows what happened was wrong, he has often thought of it through the years. He also knows he couldn't tell her, but he also knew even at the young age of 16 she was his. Now she is back... Can Arthur right the wrong done to Maisy? Or will she continue to be bullied by old schoolmates? Well, Mischief Night has all kinds of things in store... Loved it!!
Maisy has a crush on Arthur in her teens but had left for college and had not returned to Barvale. Enjoyable quick story that felt like a full length story. No skipping around like I’d find some novellas. Funny, well written and warm build up to the heat.
Maisy had a chance sighting if a classmate turning into a giant black bear, and when she got frightened the first person she told happened to be her downfall for her in high school for 3.5 years. Then graduated and left her hometown behind and only visited for her father throughout the years. Until her father needs her, now Maisy has to face her hometown and hoping the stupid mockery chant is non existent… Arthur knew but needs to be confirmed is Maisy is in fact his fated mate but never could get a chance back in school but he knows she’s back, will he get his confirmation?? With her bully be back at her mockery?
A hunky shifter = yes Fated mates = yes Steamy scenes and a happily ever after ending = heck yes
Maisy once saw her crush transform into a bear and running to the bathroom to calm her nerves she makes the mistake of telling one of the nastiest girls in school about it, this brought on years of bullies calling her crazy Maisy. Finally she’s grown up and living her life in New York when she gets a devastating call to say her father was in hospital. Rushing back to her hometown to look after their farm she inevitably runs into her crush again, only this time he’s not letting her get away, he’s going to claim his mate and make her happy for the rest of her life.

Maisy was consistently bullied in high school after she saw Arthur shift into his bear. No one believed her and Arthur couldn't admit she was correct because humans didn't know about shifters. Both were attracted to each other but neither one knew they felt that way. Maisy got out of town as soon as she could and was doing well in NY but was pulled back home when her father fell ill. As soon as Arthur saw her again, him and his bear knew she was their mate. Some minor action and drama from others but it was a fun read. REALLY makes me want it to be fall and Halloween already!

This is the 2nd book in the Barvale Holiday Tales series, This is “Crazy” Maisy Daniels and bear shifter Arthur Lance story. She had a huge crush on him in high school, she saw him turn into a bear (hence the name Crazy Maisy) told a friend who used it to humiliate her. Years later she meets Arthur again when she calls him to come and repair her fathers tractor. Shes back to in Barvale to help her Dad out while he is in hospital. It is a beautiful story about having a 2nd chance at romance and come upence when Lorna gets exactly what she deserved after all those years of being Maisy's nemesis.

This is an interesting tale of second chances and overcoming your past. This romance takes a woman home to care for her family farm for a holiday event when her dad ends up in the hospital. She tries to stay away from town and her past tormentors and the man who she saw turn into a bear as a teen. This becomes impossible when her tractor breaks down and only he can come fix it. Their second chance may be side tracked by her past bully from high school. Great emotional story with a HEA
They called her crazy, crazy Maisy. The moment she finished high school, she left her hometown and all those who called her crazy. But now, she is back, her father needs her. She needs help too, the only person who can help her is the men, she did see changing to be a bear when they were in high school. Arthur can't believe his mate is back, he will do everything so she will stay. Storyline is wonderful and sweet. Characters are wonderful.
They went to school together and she saw him change into a bear and was ridiculed through high school. Later on down the road she avoided him and the town. He thought she was his mate but was not sure since they really never even talked. He heard she was back in town due to her father being in the hospital. He gets his chance when she calls him to fix the farm tractor. this is a fast read

a bit of a second chance shifter romance, she is the one that got away, he though after one meeting or kind of meeting in high school that she was his, but never went after her. Now she is back in town years later and it is finally time to make her his. this is a great story, plenty of plot, great characters and lots of emotion.

I love this early Halloween second chances story about a growly bear shifter and the one who got away! Arthur and Maisy have been drawn to each other since high school, but little did they know just how meant to be they were. With Maisy moving back to town, Arthur does what he can to claim her as his own. A few tricks but lots of treats in this sweet and sexy story!!
The second book in the Barvale Holiday Tales series a well written story that kept me turning pages. “Crazy” Maisy Daniels and bear shifter Arthur Lance meet again when she comes back to Barvale to help her Dad out when he ends up in hospital. I enjoyed seeing their Halloween story come together, and Lorna getting exactly what she deserved after all those years of being Maisy's nemesis. The story was well worth reading.
This shifter love story is for Maisy Daniels and Arthur Lance. Oh this book holds so mean people and love too. I am so glad that these two get a second chance of love and happiness. I loved this mating book. I am so looking forward to the next book.

One of my favorite things about the Barvale books is the newsletter at the beginning of the book. So much fun and such an enjoyable way to introduce the story. Love the characters. Love the holiday theme. The book is a quick read which I appreciate especially at bedtime. Check out C. D. Gorri's other holiday tales too. Enjoy!
Maisy's return to Barvale was not what she expected. When she let after high school, she thought her feelings for Arthur were behind her. She quickly finds out just how wrong she was. Arthur has always had a thing for Maisy. He finally gets his chance and he is not going to pass it up. Steamy read complete with a HEA. I received an advanced copy and tis is my honest opinion.
Maisey was called names in high school so as soon as she graduated she left town. Years later she has to go back because her father has a heart attack. Will things be the same? Will her crush still be there? This was a good read, well written with great characters. Can't wait for the next book. I was given an advanced reader copy from booksprout and I voluntarily leave this review.
Grammar errors, wrong words, story contradictions. From beginning to end it was error after error and it was a struggle to get through. The writing was clunky and sometimes difficult to understand. I sort of enjoyed the plot, but between the errors and the writing it was impossible to really like.
loved it !!! love this series !!! love Arthur and Maisy... this is their story... she's back... the one that got away... his mate...she's back...urgh!!! Maisy left because of the bullying... a fast paced fated mates story... sweet...and the truth...

Maisy and Arthur’s story was a whirlwind adventure with a bear shifter and his fated mate. After discovering one another in high school, circumstances separated them for almost a decade until a family emergency brings Maisy home. Maisy’s strength and resilience are wonderful and Arthur is adorable. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.
As a teen, Maisy Daniels saw a boy shift into a bear and told the wrong person, resulting in a miserable high school existence. Ten years later, Maisy rushes back to Barvale when her dad gets ill and so much has changed. The mean taunt lives, she has a crush on the same guy, Arthur Lance but he has a crush on her too and she doesn’t think she has to move away to be happy. Rating: 3stars
Maisy was reluctant to go back home after escaping the horror of her childhood but what awaited her there would fulfill all her dreams.
Such a beautiful engaging story of love, fated mates, some witty moments and a touch of revenge in this amazing shifter read which you’ll fall in love with!
