Sabina Manea spent years in corporate law before plucking up the courage to follow her childhood dream and write the kind of crime fiction she loves to read – fun, classic style whodunnits in contemporary settings. She is currently working on the next instalment in a mystery series featuring ex-lawyer turned detective Lucia Steer, a very modern heroine with eagle eyes and a habit of overstepping the mark. When she isn’t writing, Sabina keeps her hand in the law by sitting as a family court judge. She lives in rural Nottinghamshire with her husband, three sons and an ever changing assortment of animals. Find Sabina on Facebook: www.facebook.com/sabina.manea.37
The beginning was slow but I guess this was setting the scene for the plot. Once it got going I was invested to find out what happened. I enjoyed the Hampstead, Highgate and Kentish Town locations. Good characters with good connections no people who I thought why was they in the book? They were all relevant and I can’t think of any loose ends so all in all I would recommend if you enjoy mystery books set in London with likeable characters and a connected storyline.
If I was a character of course I’d be the main female lead Lucia Steer. I will look out for further books in this series to read.
