All I ever want is to be a mother, and in my quest, I realize that not everyone possesses that desire. Kay is one of those people, but I fall deeply in love with her. After a long fight, I accept that I will not get all that I want in this life, and I am lucky to have gotten the gift of love. Ready to walk down the aisle with Kay, we go to get a marriage license. I’m shocked when I’m denied because I did not get a divorce! Divorce? When did I get married? What the hell happened on that trip to Las Vegas? I go in search of the woman I have no memory of marrying because I need to get that divorce to move on with my life with Kay. I find her, and she possesses all that I imagined and everything I hoped for. Suddenly, I’m faced with an unbearable choice between the woman I love and the woman who holds the power to make all my dreams come true.
I dont know what i expected from this book but certainly never thought i will be having one of my worst reading experience.the story, characters does not make any sense at all to me.I don't know what demographic authors target readers are but I'm certainly not one of them. I feel like I wasted my valuable time reading even though Im free all day. if I have any doubts that book was bad the last few chapters pretty much takes the cake not only it clear my doubts,it even made the book from bad to worst.
The book "I do" pretty much gave me a valuable lesson to me.never read a book without a second opinion. I'm sorry for my ranting but i cant help it this book left me with a sore taste.
The MC of this book has no values. The two women in her life have no dignity. Everyone cries randomly. Nothing makes sense. Sometimes I laughed at how ridiculous it was. This whole book is an insult to the inelligence of the reader.
This is the most twisted ridiculous story I've ever read and I finished the book
I can't give this book a 1 star nor can I give it a 2 star which would be my normal for books I don't like. But I finished it so I'll go with a very reluctant 3 star, which I might change later. First stop reading right here if you don't want Spoilers. Go no further than this.
Okay, woman (MC) and gf chose to get married even after the gf made it abundantly clear she wanted no kids, and she the MC left her previous 2 year relationship for the same reason, literally even therapy didn't change this. Okay I'll bite. They go get a marriage license and nope can't get one married MC is already married. MC hunts down the wife and of course she's perfect. She's got a kid, too the one thing that's been made clear here is how much our MC wanted kids. But here comes the start of my hate for this MC. She starts Falling for her wife. Which is fine, we all loved the wife. But our MC is already in a relationship. So she kisses the wife and leaves and goes and gives the fiance an ultimatum. Accept my child or we're done. Something a few days ago the fiance was willing to do "It would break my heart, but I'd let her go". I can understand having a change of heart but it was way too drastic.
The way the whole thing was done was so tasteless. I'm actually fuming at how much cheating is going on in this book all from the MC. And I started out liking Erica but ended up being furious at her, too! So of course the author comes back with 'but the one who was absolutely ready to end their relationship over not wanting a child went and got pregnant' now that she and the MC are no longer together. And MC is conflicted but seeing her pregnant turns her on and she's all emotional so naturally she cheats. And it turns out that all that the only way our MC can climax is mothering her children. Gosh I've never hated a MC more than this one. For weeks she lies to her wife and somehow she still ends up being a victim. 7 weeks of having an affair. One scene she was thinking of kissing her wife but she could taste the other woman on her lips. Like...... I saw red
And I'm sorry, at the end I was hoping our MC just ended up alone because I couldn't stand her. With Erica as her assistant because they deserved each other! Natalie should have ended up leaving (even if they co-parented their 2 daughters together). This has left a bad taste in my mouth. But Kudos to the author, I read it to completion so that's something.
I love an insta family Lesfic book now add in a 'I didn't know I was married', and a 'oh and I'm rich' this would turn my lesbian heart to absolute putty. It was an insta family, already married (better than let's fake/ real married), and lastly a 'rich girl poor girl'. Come on this is lesbian paradise. But alas, I do not recommend this book if one you can't stand cheating. You'll start by rooting for the MC to... hating her
Lives run parallel, sometimes intertwined. Our goals in life often seek the ultimate dreams we have. Some form in tragedy to achieve it, others form in the love. The greatest love is often conceived through gifts of sacrifice. A beautiful story that is built on unconditional love, we all want in our lives.
Michelle is dating Kay. Kay doesn't want kids, but Michelle does. Neither wants to compromise but want to still get married. While one night in Vegas Michelle finds out she is married and has a child. So her life is complete. She takes responsibility for the child and files for divorce so she can marry Kay. Kay still wants nothing to do with kids. Michelle is torn. She starts falling in love with Natalie, the child's mother. She has to make a choice between the two and that's when things get really weird.I don't want to spoil it,but I would have never dated someone like Michelle or Kay......if you read it you will understand why.
I am a big fan of Mardria Portuondo. I purchased all her books. There is no personal email or other info to send fan letters to, so I can only say WOW. Every single book I read takes you on a story adventure that is so unlike anything I have ever read before. And each and every one ends with WOW. This one really grabbed at the heart strings. First your happy then you sad then your shocked. Michelle brought out so much colorful language coming from my mouth. Actually they all did. Kay, Erica, Topaz and Natalie. This was such a dysfunctional group of family and friends. But well worth the read.
Okay so Michelle is a asshat but I still love her and I hate how she contradicts herself but it's mostly because that's exactly how I would break it down. Erica, okay so I need you to wrap her up and send her to me. Please tell me you wrote a book about Emily and Erica? Kay scared me lol. That much love in one person is amazing. Now Nat she would be the death of me she is just perfect in every way. I want to spend the rest of my life with her so if you could give her number that would be 👍
This is the first book I’ve read by Mardria Portuondo and it won’t be the last. It has everything…drama, lust, longing, love, betrayal, forgiveness. It was so easy to get invested in the characters. At times this book made me cry. Other times it made me so angry I wanted to quit reading it. I stuck it out and read it until the end. I’m glad I did.
What an emotional journey filled with so much love and so much pain. A profoundly powerful book about relationships, family, and the cost that lies therein. Natalie was a precious soul that brought Michelle the gift of motherhood. Kay loved Michelle, but knew her limits as to what she could give to Michelle. Erica was the strength that kept the family together. She always saw the big picture and was devoted to Michelle and then the new family. Bea was the light in their lives that cast out darkness and doubt. She loved fiercely for such a young soul. So beautiful and so intense. An amazing read. I enthusiastically and unequivocally recommend this and any other works by this author. She is one of my favorites. Well written and beautifully developed characters and plot. Thank you Peace
Crazy story filled with ups and downs and twists and turns that made me not know who the MC would choose. In the end, though, all the characters in this story, were all insane. And I mean that. They were incredibly violent, especially the main characters, I think they both had some real separation anxiety and some real anger issues. It felt like every situation between Kay and Mich and Nat could've been solved without having them have to verbally abuse each other. Erica, who I thought was cool and the most put-together, also turned out to be crazy in her own ways.
3.5 There are some editing/name issues where I was wondering how a character was suddenly in the scene when they weren't previously. This happened a few times with Kay towards the end of the story.
This read like a soap opera. This happened and then WHAT this happened. I stayed up late into the night to finish it.
Jae's SRC character with everyday job character works in the food industry
This book reads like a bad soap opera. There is so much that goes on in this that is very problematic. This is just ridiculous. I wanted this to be a sweet story, but it was filled with so much unbelievable crap. None of the characters maybe with the exception of the child is likable. Every other page, someone is crying or cheating or both. This story went on for too long. The only positive would be the normalization of having sex while pregnant. Thank god, this was part of Kindle Unlimited, because I’d be very upset if I paid even $1 for it.
OMG what can I say.... I always get whiplash when I read Mardria Portuondo's books but she has done it again. The story jumps off the pages that you keep turning the pages... Brilliant story and a must read
I am freaking speechless. What a beautiful story. I can't even put into words how amazing it was. I have read several books by this author and she never disappoints. Im upset Its over and really wish I could read it again for the first time...
Such a beautiful story even with all the twists and turns and the heartbreak. Great characters and a well thought out plot. I got sucked into this book and ended up reading it all in a day. Highly recommend
Once again another one that takes you through an emotional rollercoaster. I was on Michelle's side she wanted a family. So of course it was a no brainer to pick Nat and Bea.
Great book, great funny characters, lots of emotions, went through them all with the characters, kept me interested all the way throughout, really enjoyed it.
