I'm supposed to be focused on my toughest rotation of med school. So what am I doing sexting my hot new neighbor? Or letting him see me naked at the window? I don't have time for distractions.

But of course sexting leads to more, and it turns out sex with Kam is even more amazing. And it turns out, distraction is just what this soon-to-be-doctor ordered. After all, if he can push me way past my boundaries in the bedroom, maybe I can try pushing a few boundaries outside of it too.

Except if I ever want to be more than a booty call, I'll have to figure out how to make Kam step out of his own secretive comfort zone, too.

Liz Lincoln has been concocting stories as long as she can remember, and from the beginning they involved two people falling in love. She also writes under the not-even-a-little-bit-secret identity of Eliza Madison.

When she’s not writing, Liz spends her time rooting for the UW Badgers and the Green Bay Packers (or yearning and embroidering for the return of football season), cross-stitching sassy sayings or nerdy characters (Wonder Woman is her favorite), and drinking too much Diet Coke.

She lives in Milwaukee, WI, with her husband, two kids, two cats, and a turtle.

I really enjoyed SERVICE WITH A SMOLDER and it was hot, hot, hot! We met Kam briefly in the previous book which was about Kam's twin brother. He was moody and grumpy and I expected to get more of that but this time around Kam was sexy and smoldery (at least for most of the book). I liked seeing this more easy going side of Kam but there was a lot under the surface for this hero and when he breaks it's not pretty but it's beautifully emotional. I wish we had Kam's POV but Eliza Madison does a great job making Kam's thoughts clear through his emotions.

Nina was also a great heroine and I loved how smart she was. She goes through some great growth in the book as Nina gets more confident and learns to go after what she wants -- in both her professional and personal life. She's self-conscious about her weight and appearance and it takes a while for her to believe that Kam finds her sexy but I loved that he never gave up. While I found SERVICE WITH A SMOLDER hot and sexy, it almost had -- dare I say it -- too much sex and I wanted Kam and Nina to spend more time together outside the bedroom. But overall, I really enjoyed this read!

I'm surprised my Kindle lived through the steam. The voyeurism/exhibitionism really tickled my fancy (and other lady parts). I didn't think I'd enjoy reading Kam, who's a bit of a jerk, really, but good gosh dat smoulder.

Sign me up for the next book. Looking forward to reading more from Madison.

DNF. I hate insecure millennials. You're almost 30 and you’re acting like a 13 year old, I'm embarrassed for you. Also the story is boring. I hate medical dramas and y’all should have led with that or include it in the trigger warnings so i could DNF before the anxiety attack.

Erotic healing

She was studying to be a doctor. He had already qualified, but after a serious crash he was working at a grocery store packing groceries. Their lust-induced relationship started when he watched her undressing from his window and she loved knowing she affected him that way, since her mother and skinny sister were so critical of her appearance.
They were both so consumed with out of control lust, but did not realise that their other issues, such as her asthma and his guilt about the crash which hurt a friend and his brother were being addressed. While his total lack of respect for her bothered me, since he had her naked against a plate glass window high above New York, for anybody to watch them, I started to appreciate that she was the right person to help him to get his life back on track. So I liked that they were both good for each other, but was concerned about their need to expose their private lives, and their lack of morals.

this is my first time reading this author and I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised. This book is HOT 🔥🔥🔥, I mean scorching from start to finish. Nina is in med school, doing her residency rotation in the ER but before that starts, she moves into a new apartment. One that happens to be in the same complex as Camile or Cam and his twin brother Tariq. The two of them have an immediate and magnetic connection and it was awesome to read (listen) to how it grew. It all started with a food save at a vegetarian brunch with the family. I laughed so much while listening to this book and when I wasn't laughing, I was blushing. I love that Cam's backstory is a little dark and it makes him less than the perfect specimen Nina initially made him out to be. This was an amazing first read for this author. I can't wait to read Tariq's story. Yeah, I know, I'm totally backwards.

Holy Hot Steamy Read! It sizzles like bacon in a skillet. Strip teases and sex up against the glass window of a Chicago high rise . . .

sorry, I had to pause and fan myself while I was recalling those scenes.

And to top it off, the story involves a couple that truly compliment each other. Nina is a medical student and Kam is a recovered transplant patient. While Kam has some body issues of his own, he is able to give Nina the confidence to deal with her own body issues. Kam is having a hard time getting his career back on track, but Nina gathers strength from him in order to confront her asshole boss. Likewise, Nina provides Kam his first step in opening up his feelings about his tragedy.

pretty much a Wow

Nina and Kam ! What a pair. Blew my Saturday night all to pieces right on into the early morning hours of Sunday. Two people with their own fears and attractions. How they come to deal with them and each other is a torrid, hot, erotic and a touching love story. Words well chosen, scenes well set, characters nicely developed and I loved it all. I do recommend it.

Throughly enjoyed

I think part of what I enjoyed most about this story was the blatant mutual attraction between Nina and Kam...no one was playing hard to get or being coy or putting up a ton of passion-delaying obstacles. They each had issues but and we only had Nina's POV but their feelings for each other were apparent. And it was funny, which I always love. (Not every romcom is actually funny).

I look forward to reading more from this author.

Sadly I didn’t like this one as much as the first. I was looking forward to a tortured hero, Kam was super frustrating. I really can’t blame the heroine for chewing him out in the third act.
The heroine’s arc also felt incomplete- I would have liked a scene of her telling off her diet obsessed mom.
I would read more in the series though.

Honestly don’t know what to make of this book. Wasn’t bad at all. Just wasn’t what I was expecting. At times felt like both Nina & Kam were written younger then intended. But over all the book was good. The laughs, steamy, & the smut was there & wasn’t excessive. Perfect mix. Can’t wait to read the next book.

The novel is not bad. It's actually likeable. I just don't enjoy the bickering, it makes it annoying. I like straight up talk, say things as they are, that goes in every area, work, home etc. The suspense should be about something else rather than uncertainty or because of something unsaid. We already now how it all ends, so just make the journey enjoyable.

My opinion.

While I wasn't a fan of either of the two main characters, I enjoyed the story and the writer's style. It flows and keeps your attention. Editing is clean, spices are extremely hot, and you get a good feel for what makes the characters tick.

It had a bit of mystery and steamy romance with some relationship drama. I liked the story and feel it was well written but I desired more from the ending. Maybe an epilogue to further support their future together because it felt as though issues were worked out "for the moment".

This book was so strange and slightly awkward to me. The steamy scenes took over the book to try to hide that the plot was horrible.

This is Book 2 of the Milwaukee Men at Work Series!

Mina’s med school rotation is supposed to be her top priority—but she can’t stop thinking about her irresistibly hot new neighbour, Cam. Sexting quickly escalates into more, and before long, their chemistry ignites into an all-consuming, steamy romance.

What I loved most about this story is the perfect balance of heat and heart. Cam isn’t just a sizzling distraction—he challenges Mina to push her boundaries both in the bedroom and in life. Their dynamic is playful, passionate, and full of tension, with just the right amount of emotional depth to keep you invested.

Mina is smart, driven, and relatable, while Cam is mysterious, confident, and absolutely swoon-worthy. Together, they make an addictive pair you won’t be able to stop thinking about.

This is a short, steamy romance that delivers everything: sizzling chemistry, witty banter, and just enough emotional stakes to make it feel real.

⭐️ Fun banter
🔥 Smoking-hot chemistry
💉 Med school + romance = perfection

First off, this Wisconsin girl would like to thank you for the Spotted Cow reference within the first 5 pages of this book. Thank you for choosing such an amazing beer and a serious staple of Wisconsin.

Ok, now on to this book. This book is promoted as a romantic comedy, and that is so completely accurate. I was laughing so hard so many times while I read it. As I am sure Kam would appreciate me saying, it was bloody brilliant.

Nina is such a quintessential awkward nerdy girl & I loved how she came out of her shell thanks to Kam’s confidence. Kam has a background that I absolutely didn’t expect & it brought such depth to him as a character.

This was a great read and I will need to check out more books by this author, both because she is a brilliant author and because I love seeing the Easter eggs for places and things I recognize.

Omg this made me giddy
The blatant flirting and unashamed attitude Cam has in expressing his interest in Mina. Ugh so good! The whole concept of the plot was new and intriguing too. Definitely kept me engaged. Liz Lincoln is a new author to me and I’ve enjoyed her books so far.

I liked how Cam did everything he could to make Mina feel sexy. Not just by his words but by his actions too. Mina’a mother and sister were awful for being cruel about her weight.

The only thing this was lacking for me was a proper ending. I was wanting more story by the end of it and felt like it ended abruptly. I wish Mina would’ve had more character development and gained more confidence about her body.

3/5 🌶️

(Amy) This was a really fun read. I loved watching MMC Kam pull FMC med student Nina out of her shell, and in turn, watching Nina push Kam to move past his fears connected to a past trauma. Full of spice, lots of emotion, and solid swoon.

This story starts off as a fun neighbours spicy story and blooms into more as you get to know the characters and their backgrounds. I saw someone classify this book as ‘erotic healing’ in another review, and I couldn’t agree more. There’s so much heart.

I listened to the audiobook and I quite enjoyed the performance by Asia King. She really brought this story to life for me.

I seriously love these novellas!! Massively sexy, but also really sweet and really smart. I adore spending time with the characters so much that I wish they were novels, but the author does a good job of telling a complete story within a shorter page length.

A deeply moving story, characters you'll fall in love with, and hot, hot, HOT sex. This story was exactly what I was looking for and I could not put it down. I'd read the first in this series and couldn't wait for this one. I was not disappointed.

I liked this intense story, the reliable characters and the world building. There are a lot of hot scenes, but also some serious issues. I wouldn't describe it as romantic comedy for the lack of witty dialogues and funny twists, but as a good steamy contemporary romance.

Any psychologist would have a field day with the abundance of crazy in this book.
From voyeurism and sex addiction to denial and avoidance to dissociative personality disorder this book covered it all.

A waste of time.

I'm giving this one 3 stars because it wasn't horrible or anything. I didn't dislike it, but I didn't exactly like it either. It was actually kind of bland despite the steamy sex scenes and the deep emotional stuff. I just wasn't into it.
