Award-winning, bestselling author Sami Abrams grew up hating to read. It wasn’t until her 30’s that she found authors that captured her attention. Now, most evenings, you can find her engrossed in a Romantic Suspense. In her opinion, a crime and a little romance is the recipe for a great story.

She lives in Northern California, but she will always be a Kansas girl at heart. She has a love of sports, family, and travel. However, a cabin at Lake Tahoe writing her next story is definitely at the top of her list.

This is a Romantic Suspense. I really enjoyed that this book follows a forensic anthropologist, and I wish more books has a forensic anthropologist as a character. I loved the characters in this book, and I loved seeing them both forgiving each other and getting over the past. This book kept me guessing, and I thought I guess who did it. I did not guess all the twist, and I really felt the ending was really good. This book had a ton of suspense and action, but I did feel the romance was a little cheesy. The storyline will pull you in. I did not want to put this book down, and I ended up staying up very last night to finish reading this book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Love Inspired Suspense) or author (Sami A. Abrams) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

This is a great debut suspenseful novel that kept me engaged from the beginning. Melanie became a forensic anthropologist to find her best friends remains. Both were abducted as teenagers, but Melanie was able to get away, beaten and with amnesia about most of the event. Addison's body was never found. She hasn't been home since her parents washed their hands of her. Fifteen years later she is back after being offered the job as forensic anthropologist/coroner. Jason became a detective to help solve his sister's murder/disappearance. He holds Melanie responsible for leaving his sister. Now that Melanie is back, he has no choice but to work with her. But the suspense is constant as someone is trying to get to Melanie at every turn. Can the two overlook the past to find answers? Highly recommended for suspenseful, action-packed ride with a chance for romance and a backdrop of faith.

Buried Cold Case Secrets by Sami Abrams is a fast-paced Christian suspense novel. I should give you fair warning that this book will have you staying up late to finish it (you will need extra caffeine in the morning). I started reading this book and was quickly immersed in the tale. I thought Buried Cold Case Secrets was well-written with developed, realistic characters. The main characters go on an emotional roller coaster ride as the set out to uncover the truth. I loved all the action and suspense. The plot was well thought out. Melanie Hutton was abducted fifteen years prior with her best friend. Melanie made it out alive, but her best friend did not. The victim’s brother, Jason Cooper blames Melanie for his sister’s death. Melanie has amnesia regarding the events. She has decided it is time to return to her hometown and search for her best friend’s remains. Someone is not happy with Melanie’s homecoming and sets out to stop her from uncovering the truth. Jason Cooper, the best friend’s brother, is now a detective. He must put aside his feelings to keep Melanie safe. The pair must work together to learn who is behind the attacks and what happened fifteen years ago. I loved the mystery in the story. In the beginning, I was wondering who abducted Melanie and her best friend fifteen years ago. Then the suspense and action start with the various attacks. I read as quickly as I could because I wanted to see how Buried Cold Case Secrets would turn out. I appreciated that this was a Christian story. It is a clean read (no intimacy or foul language) for which I was grateful. I cannot wait to read this author’s next novel. Buried Cold Case Secrets is an action-packed suspenseful adventure from beginning to end.

Wow, I have never seen a character get beaten up, and attacked more than Melanie. In and out of the hospital day after day, same nurse and dr treating her.

My original review is below. I don’t want to give too much away because you are going to love this story if you like inspirational romantic suspense. I do want to remind that this is the author’s debut novel. And it was SO good she is already contracted for multiple future books. This author is going to be famous very soon. You might want to grab her debut while you can!

Wow. Total wow. It’s hard to believe this is a debut novel! The story starts before you begin to read it - and that I love. A definite romantic suspense that you can feel good about gifting to your daughter, niece, etc. I turned the pages as fast as I could. Five stars! Thankfully, Author Sami A. Abrams has more books coming out very soon. After you read this you will want to read more of hers. An author to follow for sure.

Melanie Hutton is a forensic anthropoligist who has been thrown together with detective Jason Cooper due to difficult circumstances. In their quest for love they have quite a bit to overcome. Not only is Melanie's struggling memory a huge hurdle, but as things start to work out both of them must navigate feelings of hurt, anger and resentment. Can they let those feelings go long enough in order to develop a foundation of forgiveness and love?

As Melanie struggles to settle into Valley Springs after being away for many years, she is determined to solve the cold case of her best friend's murder. However, there are a lot of things about the events of those times that Melanie simply cannot remember. What she does remember is the grief, the pain, the loss. As Melanie tries digging into the case, an attempt on her life is made, leaving Jason responsible for protecting her. However, he was also the brother of Melanie's best friend and Jason still blames Melanie for his sister's death.

The clash between Jason and Melanie has a lot of ebbs and falls. On the one hand, the killer is quite bold and refuses to let Melanie out of his crosshairs. Thus Jason is forced to stick even closer to her, all while dealing with feelings of resentment. However, the quandary is that Jason and Melanie are drawn to one another even despite the ever-present danger and long ago feelings of mistrust.

What is Melanie missing and will she be able to remember enough details in time to help the killer be caught before it is too late for her? Will Jason be able to remove the negative feelings he is fighting and allow himself to accept his tender feelings for Melanie?

What a riveting book! Utterly impossible to put down. Action, suspense and romance make for a wonderful blend in this exciting story.

Many thanks to and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

There's nothing slow about this fast-paced romantic suspense novel. It kicks off with a suspenseful scene, and the stakes grow higher with each chapter. The characters are well-developed and realistic, and the cleverly planned-out plot keeps you turning the page.
Melanie Hutton returns to Valley Springs after being hired as the new forensic anthropologist and part-time coroner. She's determined to find her best friend's body after years of taunting nightmares about the brutal kidnapping and beatings of her and her friend. The problem is Melanie's memory cannot recall the details nor the man who abducted them.
Jason Cooper, a detective with the sheriff's department, finds himself assigned to protect Melanie after someone tries to kill her. His sister was Melanie's best friend, and he blamed her for his sister's death. Jason is not happy about babysitting Melanie, but it's his job. He grows concerned for her safety after a killer grows bolder, proving his determination to end Melanie's life.
Disgruntled feelings stir between Jason's anger toward Melanie and her hurt and disappointment toward him for thinking she ran off and left his sister to die in the hands of a raged killer. Can the two of them find reconciliation? Will Melanie's memory return in time to stop the killer before he murders her? Will Jason learn the truth?

Solid Tale Of Its Type. So apparently "Inspired" / "Inspirational" is code for "Christian" in American marketing parlance (I guess similar to how "family friendly" is code for "kids"?). Did not know this going in (or, more likely, had known it long ago and forgotten over the years since I left that world behind). Thus, I was quite surprised to see a Christian Fiction book on the same blog tour schedule (well, emails sent within a few minutes of each other anyway, though in fairness there were a few different sets and I've picked up books from all of them) as some other... steamier... books, one of which I had just read earlier in the same day as this one. :)

My semi-shock at stumbling into a Christian Fiction tale published by Harlequin aside (and kudos to them for reaching out to *all* segments of their market), this tale was actually quite solid. Reminded me a bit of Dee Henderson's O'Malley Family series many years ago in that the suspense was high wire level tight, the leads worked well together personally and professionally, and the religious aspects were at least worked in as every day parts of the characters' lives and thus never truly preachy. And hell, the actual mystery at hand was actually sufficiently creepy that fans of the general romantic suspense genre will find quite a bit to enjoy here - so long as you don't mind praying. (I know of at least some readers who absolutely will not touch a book that mentions God or prayer *at all*, *no matter what*. If you're that level... yeah, this book isn't for you. If you're at least ambivalent about that particular feature and just looking for a great suspense tale... you're gonna like this one.) As I said in the title here, this is truly a solid tale of its type, and thus it is very much recommended.

Melanie Hutton returns to her hometown after being hired by the Sheriff’s department to be their forensic anthropologist. She has come back with a secret agenda. She as made a vow to herself to find out what happened to her and her best friend Allie. She needs to remember 2 days that have eluded her for 15 years.
Detective Jason Cooper can’t believe he will now have to work with Dr Hutton. He still hasn’t gotten over his anger and hurt of losing his sister Allie. He blames Melanie for leaving her and escaping on her own. Now, he and her have to work together on the force.
This book starts out with a bang. Melanie is out running when the Sheriff requests her to start on her first case. She turns around to go to the scene and is attacked. She barely escapes, but the attacks keep on coming. Jason and his partner Keith have been assigned to protect her as she recovers from injuries and tries to do her cases. They form sort of a truce and decide to work together to finally figure out what happened to Allie. Along the way, old feelings start to emerge. Can they put aside old insecurities and feelings of anger and resentment? Forgiveness is all that is standing in their way.
The characters each have issues. Melanie has issues of feeling abandoned by those she loved. Can she forgive Jason for turning his back on her 15 years ago? Jason needs to forgive Melanie and let go of the anger that he has held onto for so long. Melanie relies on her faith. Jason can’t seem to find his connection to God anymore. I like how faith played a part in this story. It was very relatable and believable. I really enjoyed their love story. It was suspenseful, educational, and just maybe will bring a tear or two.

What if you saw your best friend killed and you yourself brutally attacked, but you couldn't remember the details around that traumatic event? What if you were accused of leaving your friend to die, so that you could live? Melanie Hutton has lived with these questions for fifteen years, and now, she's returned to her hometown to find answers, and hopefully closure. What follows is an exciting adventure that threatens Melanie physically and emotionally!

I love mystery/suspense and I'm always eager to discover new authors, so reading this book was the perfect chance to do both. Buried Cold Case Secrets is the debut novel of Sami A. Abrams, and I now have a new author to follow! Abrams has crafted a gripping adventure with intriguing characters and a plot that is filled with unanswered questions, suppressed memories, and a dangerous race to find a killer before he/she strikes again.

Abrams kept me in suspense, she made me like her characters, and she gave me all of the feels--both chills and thrills! I especially appreciate that faith and forgiveness were woven into her plot. If you enjoy romantic Christian suspense, do yourself a favor and grab a copy of Buried Cold Case Secrets. I'm ready for another Abram's book, and I'm hoping that Keith, Jason's partner, will get his own story!

I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a favorable review. These are my own thoughts.

Buried Cold Case Secrets is a must-read for suspense fans. Melanie Hutton returns home to take a job as a forensic anthropologist. But she has a secret motive: to find her best friend’s remains and put the past horrors of her abduction behind her. But someone doesn’t like her returning, and she has to rely on police detective Jason Cooper for protection. Except he’s the last person she wants to see since he blames Melanie for leaving his sister behind when they were abducted.

This book is over-the-top action packed. Melanie pretty much runs for her life from the very first page. While fast paced, the story dives deep into the characters. Melanie has to overcome quite a bit from the trauma of the past, and Jason has to put aside his anger in order to protect Melanie. Both unite in wanting to find out the truth of what happened all those years ago.

The story is fast-paced and a fantastic suspense novel. I love stories where I have no idea how it will end, and this had me on the edge of my seat until the very last page. Be sure to check it out!

Where to even begin, this was such a great read! It's a very suspenseful, page turner. Warning: Will cause you to lose sleep and stay up till 3 in the morning, not wanting to put it down. Melanie and Jason are wonderful characters that you could easily relate to. Their journey is full of unexpected obstacles and lots of action. Anthropologists have always amazed me on how they can help bring loved ones home and help solve the mystery. What a great job Sami! This was an amazing read!

Considering this is debut author, this story is written very well. I enjoyed the cold case mystery angle, there’s a lot of tragedy to it which made me sad, but the story is very well done. Melanie and Jason are great characters and I really liked Miss Judith and Jason’s partner Keith. The story moves quick and kept me guessing at the how’s and why’s and the ending does a great job at wrapping all the loose ends up. Great debut!

Wow! This was a fantastic suspense book that kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end! The danger started right in the first chapter and didn’t let up. I don’t know if I have ever read a book where the main characters were in such danger so many times. Melanie and Jason went through so much!

I really enjoyed the peek into the way Melanie handled her forensic cases and seeing Jason and Melanie try to work out clues from both Allie’s cold case and two other cases that needed solving. It was hard to see how angry Jason was early on in the story. However, it was heartening to see the way he began to protect and grow close to Melanie.

Melanie had been through an horrific ordeal, yet she didn’t remember the details of it. Then, to go through all of the repeated attempts on her life in this novel was more than most people could handle. She and Jason had once been friends and I liked that even though there was hurt between them over those missing days, she still knew that he was the one person she could completely trust.

This was a great suspense story and I look forward to reading more books by this author.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

TW//CW abuse, death, kidnapping, murder, torture, trauma, violence

a 2.5 stars read.

Melanie Hutton back to her hometown to find her best friend’s remains and to regain her memories of when they were both kidnapped. Yup this is sounds good, but unfortunately I don't really like it. The beginning is kinda confusing and then I kinda hate the characters, especially Detective Jason, it's like he didn't think like a cop, he's judging without checking the facts or proofs, well I know he lost his sister, but it's like he forgot that he's a cop and he's pull and push give me a whiplash. I don't like Melanie too, I know she's trying to overcome her trauma, but her behaviour is giving me a whiplash too, one minute she's so strong, the next one she's so weak and complaining and whining. I really can't connect with these characters.

As for the suspense story, even though it's predictable (I guessed correctly who's the bad guy is) and there's police's procedural that a bit unbelievable and weird and got me questioning everything, I still enjoy it, especially the action in the last few chapters, also I like how the author throwing a lot of suspects to keep the story more interesting.

So overall an okay read for me.

Thank you in advance to the author, Sami A Abrams, for providing a complimentary review copy through her “Crime Scene” launch group. A positive review was not required nor requested, and all words are my own.

Sami A. Abrams’ Buried Cold Case Secrets is her debut Love Inspired Suspense novel. And, what a debut this is! Wow!

As of note, back in the early 2000’s, I could EASILY read a book of this size in a day, and I almost did it with this one. I did read the first 54% of it in roughly two (2) hours. That just doesn’t happen much these days. I just couldn’t put it down.

Let’s start right off with that CREEPY cover! Should be released closer to Halloween! While the author has very little input for the cover, the team behind the covers does a great job to grab the reader’s attention and definitely connect the cover to the author’s story.

How about that “blurb”? Melanie was kidnapped with her best-friend? Only Melanie made it out alive? That’s enough to give someone nightmares. And, the fact that her friend’s brother blames her? Okay, this is a strong read! No decaf here – let’s go full “jet fuel” coffee!

Of course, from that blurb, we know what Melanie and Jason are up against – besides each other. The two support characters, Keith Young and Dennis Monroe were just as good. But, let me tell you, Abrams had me guessing about the sheriff almost from the beginning.

I sympathized with both Melanie and Jason in this situation. Melanie had to “escape” when she had the chance. Who would want to just let themselves be killed if they had a chance to get out of a situation? But, I did wonder about Allison.

Jason feels his sister’s death is Melanie’s fault as she didn’t take Allison with her when she was able to leave. I understood his point as well. Melanie was Allison’s friend, why leave Allison behind? That is a lot of pressure for an adult, let alone a 16-year-old. Fifteen years is a long time to hold on to guilt and grudges.

I was definitely wondering how, after the line on page 11 “He wasn’t her attacker. He was worse. Her best friend’s brother, Jason Cooper, stood before her. The man who hated her guts”; the author was going to make this into some kind of a romance.

How was Abrams going to turn a twisted, grisly, haunting, story into a romance within an edge-of-your-seat suspense twist?

That’s why I HAD to read this!

The chapter lengths vary from short to medium, but definitely not over 20 pages. However, the author’s engaging dialogue and fast-paced action, it was definitely easy to keep reading without even thinking about how long the chapters were.

As this does deal with kidnapping and a few murders, caution might be advised for those sensitive to the topics.

Abrams didn’t waste much time getting into the story either.

Melanie is jogging to clear her mind and as therapy for her anxiety. She’s back home and it has been 15 years since the gruesome events that led her on the path to being a forensic anthropologist.

She is recalling the event, but can’t remember the details of the escape. All she remembers is being kidnapped with Allison – both where shackled and beaten. Now, Melanie wants to find her friend’s body and give her a proper burial to bring closure to her family as well as herself.

While on the trail she is attacked and ends up in the arms of the man who hates her – Detective Jason Cooper, the older brother of Allison, Melanie’s friend.

Despite never wanting to see her again, Jason also doesn’t want Melanie hurt.

Jason is stunned to see Melanie. He undoubtedly blames her for leaving Allison to die. But, he can’t stand to see Melanie in trouble. He soon learns he will be working with her on a case, and she is the department’s new hire, despite not applying for the job. I had a very bad feeling about it – but, as it would be a spoiler, I won’t say whether I was right or wrong.

It is clear Melanie is still traumatized. She refuses to tell Jason about her panic attacks and PTSD.

After arguing over her needing medical attention, Jason is blunt – Melanie made a bad decision regarding his sister. She tells him he doesn’t know what he is talking about. Due to their estrangement, Jason has no idea how badly scarred Melanie is, or how much her parents basically ignored her trauma in the days after.

Melanie is there to work. Right now, it is in exhuming a body that has been recently found (not Allison’s).

It isn’t long until multiple attempts are made on Melanie’s life; even at the hospital (this guy is pretty bold). And, despite how he feels about Melanie, Jason is determined to protect her. One of the attempts on Melanie’s almost ends Jason’s life. It is before this that he learns about Melanie’s parents’ treatment of her. Basically, they no longer wanted her as it would ruin their reputation.

After a fire, his resentment starts to fade. His heart and his head are in conflict when it comes to Melanie. I literally cried when he asked her not to cry and that he’d place her stuff. Seriously? He was definitely starting to thaw out a little, though it is a long road for him.

I definitely suspected the sheriff right off due to how he showed up at a crime scene. Abrams really did a great job on his character. I honestly believed “okay, he did it”.

There was a bit of laugh between Ethan, Brent, and Jason regarding firefighters and cops. Jason thought the firefighters were nuts to run into ovens (burning buildings), they thought cops were crazy for dodging bullets. This is a slight play on most fire/police rivalries.

Jason decides to take her to his place, he bought it from an elderly lady who knew the kids (Jason, Allison, and Melanie). It is this woman who provides Jason with the insight he needs. Eventually they talk about the night that Melanie escaped.

The author really demonstrated the conflict here – Jason wants to know what Melanie remembers, and why she did what she did; but he doesn’t want to listen. Though Jason sees the toll on Melanie in going over the scene in photos and wants her to stop.

While he wants to continue to hate her, he also wants to start over because he wants the past Melanie back. He wants to start over, but he can’t resolve himself to absolve her of her role. One thing is certain – he knows his sister is dead, though, where is she or rather where is her body?

After eliminating everything to do with Melanie’s old cases, no past exes; Jason and the sheriff agree – the stalking and attacks have to do with her kidnapping. Though they can’t figure the why out.

Abrams keeps the action going with more stalking, another body, and more conflict between Jason’s head and heart. His attitude bounces all over from dislike of her to extreme affection, at one point upset that she doesn’t think she deserves to be treasured. This poor guy definitely needed some therapy as well.

Jason and Keith begin to wonder that perhaps it isn’t a stranger – maybe someone in the community given how the attacker can just disappear. I had my own suspects as well.

Speaking of suspects, Melanie’s little paper towel tube demonstration of a suspect’s height was very interesting and added some levity to the tense storyline.

I loved how Abrams kept the tension and conflict going, almost up until the very end.

At one point even Jason admits that his heart knows what he wants, it is getting his head to agree. I loved this statement and truly felt that explains so much of our inner and outer conflicts. It even helps to explain certain relationships.

The lead up to the ending was gut-wrenching and nerve-wracking. With about 34 pages to go – I didn’t put this one down. I actually couldn’t put it down as it was too intense. Word of caution – don’t got into the ending at night, alone. Wow!

The bad guy, after his introduction, was fairly easy to see coming – at least for me. The motive though was off until about the very end and it all made some gruesome sense.

One of the “locations” also pinged for me when it came to a location, but it was interesting to see it come back there.

Once I connected the dots, the ending was a bit predictable, but still enjoyable.

Although this is a standalone read, I wouldn’t mind another connected book with a story about Keith. I really liked him! I also want something with the sheriff as well since he definitely surprised me.

One thing that was a bit bothersome to me – the age difference between Jason and Melanie. When they were younger, he was 20 and she was 16, so only four (4) years between them. Yet, the way the characters were acting, it was as if it was over 10 (or more). I get Melanie was 16, so that was a good reason, just not the AGE gap difference being the reason.

I’m watching a TV show where in real life, the lead actor is AT least 15 years older than the “love interest” on the show. That’s a bit of an age gap. However, I know real-life couples with anywhere from a 20-25 year age gap. At certain ages, it is definitely NOT a good idea (usually under 18, I’ll go up to 21).

The reference of Dr. Vogel to “Dr. Doom” made me laugh. There’s only ONE Dr. Doom (Fantastic Four, 2005) and he wasn’t too bad.

Overall, I LOVED this and am hoping to see more great work from this author and hope she has room on the Crime Scene team for me next time because I’m all in!

Since this is from the Love Inspired Suspense line, it will have a certain amount of Christian and faith-themed tones to it. Most of it is in the form of prayer and doesn’t come off as “preachy” in tone.

Fans of Darlene L. Turner, Lynette Eason, and Elizabeth Goddard are definitely going to enjoy Sami A. Abrams!

This suspense story from the Love Inspired line stars Dr. Melanie Hutton and Detective Jason Cooper. Now a forensic anthropologist, Melanie has come back to town hoping to finally find out who kidnapped her and her best friend Allison fifteen years earlier and to try to recover Allison's body.

Jason Cooper was Allie's older brother and the object of Melanie's teenage crush. He has never forgiven Melanie for surviving and escaping when his sister did not. But Melanie doesn't remember those two days when she was held captive and beaten. But her amnesia and the PTSD she also suffers from don't relieve her guilt that she left her best friend behind.

But someone is really, really unhappy that Melanie is back to try to uncover secrets. First, she's attacked while jogging. Then her apartment is fire bombed. There are more attacks because Melanie is determined to do her job which puts her out in public. Jason has been assigned and then self-assigns himself to keep Melanie safe. He gradually gets over his anger at her and begins to remember the young woman he was falling in love with.

The attacks don't stop with both Melanie and Jason getting injured numerous times throughout the story. Each injury, each attack, makes Melanie more determined to find out what her brain has suppressed and makes Jason fall in love with her more.

There are lots of possible suspects and another murder to add to the tension and twists of this story. It was action-packed and fast-paced. Fans of Christian Romantic Suspense will especially enjoy this story.

Melanie has had a pretty rough life. She was abducted when she was a teenager, along with her best friend, tortured, escaped, has amnesia due to her trauma, and everyone she knows and loves pretty much turns against her. Coming back to her hometown fifteen years later as a forensic anthropologist, she is determined to find the body of her best friend and finally bury her. But people still blame her unreasonably, I think, for what transpired with these girls.

This was a very engrossing tale and at times I thought maybe Melanie should just pack up and leave town and go far away and start a new life, a better life. If only to get away from the pain of her past and all the judgmental eyes. Including her late best friend's brother's, Jason, blame and animosity. But not only that, but to get away from all the danger that keeps visiting her and inflicting wounds on her person. I found the story interesting on how the victim could be victimized again, and in some cases to protect the true monster.

This was a story filled with intense suspense and a crime that started a rippling affect through several lives. And of forgiveness and truth winning over the lies.

I was provided a copy of this book from the author. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.

"Buried Cold Case Secrets" is a Christian romantic suspense. Melanie and her best friend were kidnapped as teenagers. She escaped and went for help, but her friend was gone when they returned and was presumed dead. Melanie can't remember whodunit or many details about the kidnapping but has returned to work her friend's cold case. Someone's determined to kill her before she remembers or uncovers the truth. Jason blamed her for abandoning his sister to die but he still cares for Melanie. As he protects her, he soon realizes he jumped to conclusions and never gave her a chance to explain.

The main characters reacted realistically to events, and I cared about what happened to them. Melanie and Jason worked well together and supported each other. The suspense came from someone repeatedly attacking them (and others) in an effort to prevent them from discovering the truth. There was some prayer for God's help and Melanie and Jason forgave each other. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this enjoyable suspense novel.

I received an ebook review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.

Melanie and her bestfriend were kidnapped and only she made it out alive with some memory loss. Its been years since then and now she is a forensic anthropologist back home hoping to find the remain and figure out who was behind it. Hopefully her bestfriends brother Jason can help her out but it seems he still blames her for his sister not coming back. On top of that it seems that the person behind it all is back and clearly wants to finish what he started.

I love a good mystery suspense novel and this was perfect for me. I loved that there was plenty going on and if it wasn't one thing it was another and clearly someone was after her. Then there was the whole thing between Melanie and Jason they both kinda had a thing for eachother then the whole kidnapping and Jason's sister dying and blaming her situation happened that made things complicated. I felt so bad for Melanie she was dealing with so much blame with something she couldn't even control. There is so much to enjoy about his book and if you love mystery suspense books with a bit of romance you'll enjoy this book.

Melanie's past is coming back to haunt her as she works to uncover the truth of what happened to her and her best friend Alison.

Melanie lost the memories of what happened during the horrible ordeal she experienced in middle school, in an attempt to discover the truth she finds herself fighting for her very life. Melanie must rely on Dt. Jason Cooper who still blames her for his sister's death. Together can they find the truth and escape the clutches of the past?

A suspenseful and intriguing read. Melanie has had a rough upbringing, and just wants answers. I liked that she has held to the faith, and her passion for the truth. Jason and Melanie make an uneasy team at first, but I liked how they got to know each other and how Jason protected her despite his struggles to move past what happened.

Overall, a engaging and fast paced read with compelling characters and a twisting plot. Good character development throughout, as well as faith. Well worth the read!

Melanie Hutton survived a brutal kidnapping and never wanted to return to her hometown where it had happened. She had lost everything, her family, her best friend, and Jason, the young man who she hoped to marry one day. In order to find peace and closure she must go back to see if she can remember the events of those two terrible days.

I appreciated the message of love, forgiveness, and redemption. Even when you go through terrible things, God is there to help you. Melanie was a courageous young lady who chose to face her fears, didn’t back down from the danger, and honor her friend who died. I was glad to see that justice prevailed and Melanie and Jason were able to move forward in their relationship. Ms. Abrams kept me guessing as to who was the killer and wrote a suspenseful story.

Note: This contains a brutal murder and physical assaults in the story.

Buried Cold Case Secrets is the exciting debut by Sami A. Abrams. I thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed getting to know Melanie and Jason. I thought they had good chemistry together. I was wrapped up with their mystery and wanted to keep reading to find out what would happen next. I found it was not even close to being predictable. I had it all read in one sitting. It was great.

I am giving Buried Cold Case Secrets four and a half stars. I recommend it for reading who love reading clean Romantic Suspense. I would love to read to more by I recommend it for reading who love reading clean Romantic Suspense. I would love to read more by Samir A Abrams in the future.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review.

Melanie Hutton returns to the town she grew up in as the forensic anthropologist and coroner. However, someone is not so happy she has returned and the man she has to work with is none other than the brother of her best friend who hates her. When Melanie was a child her and her best friend were abducted, she escaped and her friend has never been found. Melanie has spent her whole life determined to find out what happened to her friend but amnesia keeps many of her memories locked away.

I am not a huge religious romance reader, I am more partial to the graphic bodice rippers, however I have to say the mystery in this story really drove it forward. This is a quick easy read.
