Serious relationships are NOT meant for College…

At least that’s what Justin believes. As a member of the Mooseheads Hockey Team, Justin is known for three things: Hats, Parties, and giving the best advice around.

As he starts his junior year of college at Monroe University, he knows it will be the best one yet. Life is going great for Justin, until Becca stumbles her way in. When she tells him she’s pregnant after a drunken one night stand that neither can fully remember, he’s left with a choice. Will he step up and be the man they need him to be, or will he run away like his own parents did?

This story is told from both Justin and Becca’s POV. It involves themed college parties, lots of different hats, and some interesting ideas for baby gifts.

The Mooseheads Hockey Series is a set of standalone hockey romance books. They can be read separately, but may be better enjoyed in order.

Becca is 20 years old and is finally breaking away from her controlling family. After two years in junior college she is finally able to attend college and is living in the dorms. She is able to have all the real college experiences. When she is forced to be partners with one of the infamous hockey players, Justin, she is hesitant but the more she gets to know him the more comfortable she is with him. Justin's only plan is to focus on school, hockey and to have fun while in college which means no commitments. But the more time he spends with Becca he realizes that he may be missing out on the best thing ever.

Oh, Justin, you poor dingle berry. You were so much fun but such a dunce at the same time. He really did make me laugh out loud with how out of touch he was and how he didn't really listen. But then at the same time he needed a good gut punch. I loved him though. And then when he woke up and pulled his head out of his butt he totally won me over. He was the perfect book boyfriend ever. Becca, my poor Becca. My heart hurt so hard for her but I loved her something fierce. I loved how this story explored options that I had not seen before. AND I LOVED IT. Becca was so strong and smart. I loved how she had her breakdown moments but stood strong when she needed to. I really and truly adored Becca and Justin. I cannot recommend their story enough. I have no idea why the book was titled Snipe but I loved it immensely.

If you love hockey romance then I would absolutely read this book! I love Tattoo, he seems like your typical jock, always up for a party. However, once the shy, good girl Becca comes along we get to see his sweet romantic side. Becca comes from a small town and a very religious family, she goes to college to break away and find herself but she found more than she bargained for with Tattoo. This is a wonderful college hockey romance with a special surprise from our lovely couple. I highly recommend this series!!!

Justin doesn’t think that you should have a serious relationship in college - there’s plenty of time for that afterwards. But when he meets Becca, his world is turned upside down. Suddenly, he can’t stop thinking about her, and it scares him. As for Becca, she’s just trying to survive her first year at Monroe University. She definitely doesn’t have time for tattooed hockey hotties… or does she? When a drunken hookup leads to a very unplanned surprise, both Becca and Justin must reevaluate their beliefs.

Wowowowowow!!! Can I just say how much I adored this book?!?!? Justin is a dream. An absolute dream. He’s definitely been added to my fictional book boyfriends list, that’s for sure. And Becca!!!! She and I are scarily similar, and I always love being able to connect with the heroine. This book has everything: a bit of angst, swoony romance, hella hot steam, and witty banter. I’m not kidding, I burst into audible laughter several times as I was reading. This book is an absolute must for any romance lover!!!

I absolutely love Tattoo and Becca! These two are absolutely amazing together and compliment each other so well. Becca has had a sheltered life & Tattoo is definitely a party animal. After one forgotten night together, a little surprise comes for these two.

These two had a wonderful journey together about forgiveness, finding strength & learning to love together. I loved everything about this book & I cannot wait to see which of the guys comes next!

My Review 🏒🏒🏒🏒🏒

I absolutely loved this book! I had the pleasure of beta reading an was so blown away by these characters.

Becca & Justin are the perfect opposite attract combo. Becca has always lived the sheltered life an moving away from college she wants to spread her wings. Little does she know that includes a surprise after a drunken night neither can remember.

Justin is just living the college dream, playing hockey, meeting girls (which isn’t a hard task with being a hot shot hockey player that all the girls want) until he happens to sit next to the one girl who isn’t interested in what he’s got going on an hasn’t even seen a hockey game.

The instant connection of these two is amazing. Then Justin ghosting Becca sends these two down a path that he grovels a lot for an for good reason. With Becca finding herself an being surrounded with those that support her with everything she becomes the woman she knew she could be an you get to watch Justin go from playboy to devoted man an it’s beautiful.

I did get a little emotional in parts and laughed out loud at others so brace yourself an enjoy it!

I loved reading this book an can’t wait for the next in this series.

4.5 Stars-Cute Addition to the Series!

While I haven't read the first book in the Mooseheads Hockey series, Snipe was a cute, funny and at times serious read. It's a heavy topic, however Mary Morano does a nice job tackling it.

The blurb pretty much says it all, Justin and Becca have made college life exponentially harder for each of them, Star hockey player or not, Becca needs Justin to step up and take care of his responsibility. Justin was a delight! He was written with a great personality and his party planning skills only added to it. Now Becca, I wasn't a huge fan of at first, but she did end up growing on me.

The book is all about these two navigating their future when they come from completely different backgrounds and upbringings. Becca is a complete fish out of water that was nabbed by the biggest fisherman at school and her life has been completely turned upside down.

Snipe is well written and while predictable, it was great to getting to know more about our main characters along with their friends and family. The book reads as a standalone with a nice little epilogue.

I'm not usually a fan of stories with unexpected pregnancies, but courtesy of its immensely appealing main couple this was a book that eventually won me over. Set in the world of collegiate hockey there was partying, there was a team of sexy hockey players who became more like family, and there were decisions to be made once life changed dramatically for the big man of campus and the one woman to make him rethink everything. This was a slow-burn romance, a tale of growing up, and a journey to HEA that didn't go as planned...at first....but that couldn't have gone any more perfectly.

Justin Samson is the star of the Mooseheads Hockey team, a junior who embraces the big man on campus lifestyle through parties and a parade of puck bunnies. Commitment isn't something he believes in as college is a time for fun. The moment he meets Becca though is the moment something shifts in him and he starts to see her as someone he can't do without. Class projects worked on together soon leads to playful banter and a one night stand at a party that changes both of their lives irrevocably in a tale that charmed me & warmed my heart. Justin's a bit footloose and fancy free at the start of the story, a bit arrogant too, but the moment he starts to hang out with Becca their friendship sees him becoming a different man. When a forgotten night at one of his infamous parties leads to impending fatherhood, Justin becomes a new man, a drool-worthy man who finally accepts his new role as a loving and supportive hero. Early on Justin was the cause of many problems, but with each turn of the page he became a new addition to my list of book boyfriends.

Becca Addington's a heroine you immediately like. She’s had a difficult life, seeking to break out from under the weight of her family’s beliefs, she’s finally made it to college where she hopes to live life to the fullest. Meeting Justin is an eye-opening experience for her and it was enjoyable watching these two friends become something more in a slow-burn connection. When Becca becomes pregnant she remains that strong-willed heroine readers are first drawn to from the very start. She rolls with the changes, dealing with her choices in a realistic manner that had me liking her all the more. Together, she and Justin became a couple worth rooting for, a couple whose pairing was steamy with interactions that were full of heart and soul.

On a whole this was an entertaining story about growing up under the weight of unexpected choices! The interactions were heartwarming courtesy of its appealing main couple in a romance that pulled at my heartstrings. Add in teammates, and a coach, who quickly come to be more like family, and you end up with a sweet story where love and support are defined by a family of your own making. After the entertaining first installment in this series I’m happy to report that this second installment is just as delightful! In a tale that beautifully balances sports with matters of the heart, readers will find themselves captivated by this tale and ready to return to this world after the tempting glimpses of future couples given here.

Snipe is the second book in Mary Morano's Mooseheads Hockey series and while it can be enjoyed as a complete stand alone, it can be enjoyed a little better when you have read the previous book in the series, Open Lanes. Mary Morano is a new to me author, so this was my first book of her's- so really it is a stand alone but I have a feeling that I might have gotten a few more snippets of pre-Becca Justin in the first book that would show just how he changed when he fell for the girl.

The blurb for the book hooked me and I just had to read it- a commitment phobe hockey player and accidental pregnancy after a drunken one night stand with a girl that is throwing him for a loop? Sign me up. Then I saw the cover for the book and honestly at first I thought it was a little strange- this tatted up guy with the biggest cheesiest smile on his face? Then I read the book and was like yepp, that cover is 100% Justin!

Honestly- the book started a little slow for me- it makes sense with how shy and reserved Becca is but it also made it so that I didn't quite feel the groove of the story until I was already a bit into the book. But then it was like the story exploded.

Justin is hilarious, his hats and all their various meanings was really entertaining. Then once Becca warmed up and felt more secure in herself and their relationship, the banter between the two of them had me laughing hysterically. Justin and Becca are just so perfect together. Justin may have had some moments where he was a complete and total idiot but oh did that man boy have me swooning. Once he decides to go in, he seriously went all in. My heart broke for Becca and how lonely she felt, hating how her family was so judgemental but loved that her and Justin were able to create a bigger family out of love for their baby.

I'm ready to keep going down the road of this Mooseheads Hockey series and am crossing my fingers for Sticks and Jess to be next!

Snipe is a phenomenal addition to Mary Morano's Mooseheads Hockey series! Justin Samson is certainly not looking for a serious relationship and very sheltered Rebecca Addington has no idea what she is getting into when she falls for Justin and his charming ways. And oh my gosh, is Justin charming! Upon meeting Justin, Becca knows her roommate said something about Tattoo, but cannot recall what it was, which is probably a good thing or she might not have given him a chance. Justin sure took Becca by surprise, in multiple ways. Then she took him by surprise, and he did not respond in a great way 😭. I was a bit peeved at Justin for a while! His response to her surprise for him, as well as the reason for his nickname 😂, are just two of the ways Justin surprises Becca.

The sexual tension at the beginning between Becca and Justin is *intense*! And it does not cool down all the way to the end! This couple is like a 10 alarm fire! 🔥🔥 🔥

Mary writes characters that readers relate to, and with whom the reader can feel all of the characters' emotions. It is a real treat to read characters like Ms. Morano writes, ones with whom you, the reader, will absolutely fall in love. Seeing Becca learn what life has to offer away from her despite her parents' shelter, watching her come into her own, and grow into a strong and resilient woman is inspiring. And seeing Justin go from a fun-loving playboy to an unreliable twat to a man who truly loves and adores his lady, and pulls out all the stops for Becca to win her forever? Justin will melt your heart. He is super sweet, and his philosophy on hats makes him so endearing.

Not only do we watch the relationship grow between Justin and Becca, but we also get glimpses of the other team members and their girlfriends. Even Coach Benning has found a new lady love that we will read about in the upcoming novella Buzzer Beater in the holiday anthology Tis The Season For Romance, due to be released on November 1, 2021. I am also personally *super stoked* for Penguin's story in the November 2021 novella, Lighting the Lamp, which will be found in the Untouched Heroes charity manthology!

Mary Morano has truly whacked this book out of the rink! Expecting a full on hat trick from Mary Morano in November between Buzzer Beater and Lighting the Lamp! If you have not yet read Snipe, do not wait any longer and run quick to buy your copy or check it out on Amazon's KU.

Mary Morano blew my mind with this one! Couldn’t put it down for one second! 😍 Becca and Tattoo are just everything and more😍

Be still my little heart! This book was beyond all my expectations! It was so hot, swoony and full of true family vibes and laughter.

Becca felt so real to me. I loved seeing her discovering how different the world was from what she was taught. I loved how open she was to new experiences but also how matured she acted when it came to make decisions about her future. I loved to see how comfortable and cared for she felt around Tattoo once they figured out the steps they were going to take. The friendships she made felt so refreshing, she really deserved to be loved fully for the amazing woman she was. Her journey tackled many subjects that hit home for me in different ways and I loved to see her learning and overcoming every obstacle like the queen she was.

Tattoo was the funniest, sweetest and swooniest hero! I loved him since book 1 and he DID NOT disappoint. I loved how despite being the life of the party and how much he loved hockey, he was able to set his priorities straight, especially because he was head over heels in love with Becca without even realizing. I swooned hard seeing him trying to be the man Becca needed and deserved so she and their baby wouldn’t lack of anything, especially the real love she was lacking in her life and a true family to rely on.

Their chemistry was amazing from the very start! I loved how their relationship developed from being so shy to having this amazing communication and a strong bond they formed, not only because of the baby but because they genuinely admired and cared for each other.

I loved to see more of the team and the amazing family they were! They cracked me up more than once and only made Becca and Tattoo’s story even more enjoyable!
I have no words to say how much this book got me from the most adorable meet-cute to the sweetest epilogue!

This series keeps getting better and I can’t wait to read book 3!

Thanks again to Mary Morano for gifting me this early copy!

Justin and Becca are YA opposites attraction, surprise pregnant, and sports romance. While Becca comes from a shelter and recluse family, Justin is social butterfly. But they are attracted to each other since they met. Both of them have their plans but one drunken night, their lifes have been chanced. The story is cute and has a lot hilarious moments with a little bit of angst by Becca's family. I am so glad that Becca finally has her people to lean on. The best part is I smile while I am reading through the book even if I want to smack Justin's head a few times. This is the first book of the author I read and it is the second book in the series, but wanna reassure you that I would go back and read the first one for sure because I get hooked by all of choas created by these hockey hotties.

Having read the first book Open Lanes I've been looking so forward to this second installment in this series! I picked it up as soon as i could and got right back into the Mooseheads Hockey world!

Becca and Justin's journey isn't quite the easy one. I really liked getting into their minds, getting to see them tackle things in their life and how i wasn't sure how everything was going to play out. I enjoyed how i felt many things with these two and the realness shown by both characters!

With Snipe, Ms.Morano has created such a good read that'll grab your attention! I am so looking forward to more of this series with the third installment!

When a built, red-headed, hockey stud who is more determined than ever decides to focus all his attention on you, you can’t help but succumb to his charms. At least that’s what happens to Becca. When they end up paired up for a class assignment, getting to know each other just became more interesting.

This is a college romance, with a sports star and a very sheltered heroine. The charisma Justin has with the innocent demeanor of Becca, you can’t help but fall for these two. I love all the side characters that become just as important to the story. The love of all these characters give you all sorts of heart flutters. Ends with a HEA and an epilogue.

Talk about swoony! I always love a confident guy with a great sense of humor...throw in a sweet and sensitive side, and I'm hooked.
Cue Justin.
Gah, so swoony. Although he has a few moments of "WHAT is this guy doing?!" He makes up for it with his big heart and sweet nature. He's so sweet and attentive to Becca...while also doing all the dirty things we love.
And Becca is the perfect mix of innocence and skepticism--all while being funny and a sweetheart in her own right.
Snipe is a fun read that hits you right in the feels and certainly doesn't disappoint!

Justin is fun loving, the life of the party and a hot tattooed and a very popular hockey player. When his easy college party lifestyle changes abruptly he makes plenty of mistakes before trying to win back the unexpected girl of his dreams.

Justin is an easy character to like. His confidence and many hats painted a clear picture of him. I was definitely intrigued by him in the first book.
Becca takes a bit longer to get to know, she’s shy and out of her element, not only in the college atmosphere but with friends and her own self esteem.
I enjoyed how their dynamic changed throughout the book. The independence, trust, growing confidence. It’s a welcome scene when she’s finally gets some good lovin’ too!
Let’s not forget hockey. There’s plenty of hockey talk and I liked the other guys on the team and their involvement in the story.

Once I started this book I could not put it down. So many times my heart pulled so hard for Becca. A college pregnancy isn’t easy and I could feel everything she was going through.

And Justin although I wanted to shake him at some points. The conversation outside the bar for one. He was lovable enough I kept rooting for him.

And the family of friends and hockey teammates add to a great story.

So happy these two found their happily ever after. Can’t wait for the next one!

This is the 2nd book in the Moosehead Hockey series and Ms. Morano kicked it a notch! Snipe is Justin - or Tatoo’s - story and boy is it a good one!

Justin is all about hockey, hats and a good party - all in that order! He’s focused on playing his best and avoiding relations with the same intensity but his best laid plans take a hit when he’s late for class and meets Becca, a shy, sheltered girl away from home for the first time.

What happens when they have an instant connection and she has a bucket list that includes going to a party and drinking? A little more than either one expected and their one night stand creates a slight complication - one of the 9 month variety.

When Becca’s Uber religious parents disown her and her baby daddy does not take the news well Becca has to make some hard decisions depending on just her roommate.

What will she do? What will Justin do? Will he get his head on straight and prove to Becca he is the perfect man for her and the baby?

I enjoyed Ms. Morano’s debut book but there was just something about Justin and Becca’s story that held my attention and I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to see who’s next!

4.5 Star reviews of Snipe (Mooseheads Hockey#2) by Mary Morano

What an entertaining story Mary Morano wove. Justin aka Tattoo is a member of the Monroe University Mooseheads Hockey Team and is in his junior year at college. Imagine his shock when a drunken one night stand with Becca changes the course of their lives forever. They couldn’t be more different as Justin is know for being the life of the party
Will Justin step up and do the right thing? For Justin and Becca they had to do a lot of growing up to do . I fell hard and fast for Justin and it was heart warming to watch their relationship develop. They both had to do a lot of soul searching to do and their journey wasn’t easy but it was worth it.
Snipe is a well written love story with witty banter, angst and romance.

Universal

A one night stand has Justin and Becca facing the most permanent consequence. Now the question is, will the party happy player (on and off the ice) step up and take responsibility, or leave Becca to do it all on her own?

The character growth these two do, especially Justin, is what really stood out to me. At first, he was a very typical college student - parties, sports, women, and not much else. And though he took longer than I wished, when he stepped up, Becca didn't stand a chance at resisting him as he made it his mission to do right by her and their soon to come baby. Second to to Justin growing up is the way his team and his family rallied around them both, and welcomed Becca into their circle. They not only didn't judge them, they showed only love and support, and went all out to make them both happy and secure as they went through all that comes with pregnancy. I loved Becca and Justin and their circle, and can't wait for more Mooseheads Hockey.

Justin “Tatoo” Samson is a guy that we all know and love. He is the life of the party, I mean he hands out party pooper pins. And his Pinterest Mom helps him plan and prep his costumes. He loves to have a good time, has the ladies hanging all around him, and loves to hook up. He isn’t one to get serious….especially being a college hockey player. He doesn’t have time for something serious. But deep down Justin is a good guy. He has a big heart and he’s the guy all his friends come to for advice. Becca is a girl in college to spread her wings. She grew up sheltered in a very religious family. She never had freedom, and the only reason she was able to go to college away from home was because she got a scholarship. She has a college bucket list, and she needs Justin’s help. When the two are paired together for a project sparks fly! Justin cannot get this girl out of his head, and it was seriously messing with him.
When one night of partying turns into two pink lines it gets real. And very quickly. These two overcome the odds, work together to reach their goals and build a found family. I think that is the part of the book that resonated most with me how they built a support network for themselves and how those around them stepped up to help where they could. It was a beautiful reminder that family isn’t always those you are related to by blood, but can be chosen by choice.
This is book two in the series and I cannot wait for the rest of them to get to tell their stories, because you WILL fall in love with this team of boys!

Justin and Becca attend the same school and they have a class that brought them together for a project. Becca is finally able to exert some independence away from her family and she is enjoying herself. Justin is focused on hockey and having fun. They spend more and more time together and really enjoy each other. Until one drunken night leads to complications more than they ever thought possible. From here it was a bunch of miscommunications that kept them apart. Justin was afraid that his feelings were too strong so he stayed away. Becca thought he was staying away because he thought she was a mistake. When Becca found out she was pregnant, it was her friends who supported her. When she told Justin she was pregnant, he acted like there was no chance it could be his. Justin finally realized his mistake and was desperate to make it up to Becca. Finally together, Justin and Becca were the sweetest couple. They had already been through a lot in their relationship and were determined to make their family work. Their banter was hilarious and entertaining. Justin went from a character to hate to one you could fall in love with. The way he loved Becca was so precious. Becca thought she was going away to college to gain new experiences, but she gained so much more. She gained a new family here.

After reading about Justin, aka Tattoo, in Open Lanes, I knew he had to have such a good story and I was right! Snipe is everything a college sports romance should be, but it’s also so much more.

Sure, Justin was the funny, life of the party, man of many hats guy that I expected him to be, and there were more than a few times in the beginning that I wanted to reach through the book and shake him, but there was more to him than all that. He turned into a stand up guy who overcame his own insecurities and really stepped up to be a dad and boyfriend who was all in. Becca was also a surprise for me, as she was this sheltered girl kind of just stepping out into the real world for the first time, but she was still so strong and independent. She was really relatable for me. When the two of them got it together, they were really just so perfect together.

There is hockey, steam, and laughs and it is mostly a lighter read, with a surprise pregnancy. Most of the secondary characters were just amazing with the teammates, coach, and friends who really stepped up to be there for these two. I love that one of the main messages in this book is that family isn’t always made up of blood relatives, it can be anyone who is there for you and loves you no matter what!

Snipe is the first novel that I've read from author Mary Morano and it won't be the last.

Although the second book in this 'Mooseheads Hockey' series, Snipe can be read and enjoyed as a standalone easily.

20 year old Becca has changed colleges her junior year and eventually out of her controlling, ultra-conservative family's reach.

Although determined to enjoy the full college experience, nothing could have prepared her for Justin 'Tattoo' Samson and his hat collection.

Nothing could prepare her for the almost immediate attraction, friendship or surprise pregnancy that follows.

Just a bit clueless at times, Justin makes and few tactical errors and has to work hard to win back the favour of the fair maiden Becca but it's so worth it to see how well he grovels.

This is a fast paced, laugh out loud novel that does a great job in illustrating that family doesn't need to be 'of blood'!

Lovers of surprise pregnancy, sports or college romance tropes will fall as madly in love with Justin as I did!

A tantalising 2nd book in the Mooseheads Hockey Series. Becca and Justin's story is one of those fill good stories that bring a smile to your face and reminds you why you love reading romances. Of course, this couple is going to experience more twists and turns than most but that is what made Snipe such an engaging read. There were some classic pieces in the book and I loved Justin's hat collection and the meaning behind them, it is a small piece of the book that makes it memorable.

Becca and Justin are a slow burn couple, with Becca getting her first taste of freedom after coming from a small church-going community, where her parents expected her to marry the boy of their choice, and Justin who doesn't believe that you 'Can Find the One', at college, which is suppose to be for fun and hook-ups, but from the moment he meets Becca something inside him tells him she is his forever, but his heard takes a time to catch up, but with a surprise on the way it better happen soon.

Highly recommend.

Justin is a popular hockey player who doesn't believe in relationships while in college. Becca is a girl who has been sheltered because of her family being so religiously controlling, but she's super excited to be able to finally go to college where she isn't living at home. She & Justin are partnered up in a class which is how they first meet, and there's something about Becca that is doing Justin's head in not to mention threatening his rules. These two end up hooking up at a party, and while neither one can remeber everything that transpired, Becca was left with a parting gift. At this point, Justin is totally ghosting her because of his fear of catching feelings, and he only makes the situation worse when she tries to tell him about the baby. I'm telling you, Justin really came off as a jerk for quite a while, but once he took his head out of his behind, he finally showed he was a decent guy, but will Becca forgive him for the stuff that's already happened?! You know what to do to find out as I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I love this series!!

This book is part of the Moosehead hockey series, and it features Justin aka Tattoo. This is such a wonderful coming of age book and Justin just stole my heart.

Becca is new to this school, a transfer, and was extremely sheltered growing up. The attraction between Becca and Justin is instantaneous and they are paired together to work on a project. Trying to spread her wings, she goes to one of the infamous hockey house parties. While there, she ends up drunk and having a blast with Justin... until she wakes up in bed next to him the next morning naked with little to no memory of the night before. Things could have worked out if Justin didn't freak out and ghost her.

Weeks later, Justin has decided to try to make up with Becca and apologize for his horrible behavior but Becca shocks him by telling him that she's pregnant. He doesn't understand that she's telling him that the baby is his and he ends up making the situation worse!

Justin then has to work harder than ever to win her back. Of course, nothing ever is simple.

This book made me laugh (omg Justin's hats are hilarious), cry, yell at how stupid he's being and sigh contentedly at how sweet he ends up being.

This book was just perfect. I loved it from start to finish, and I'm so glad I had the pleasure to read and review this book. Definitely a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ read!

I recieved an ARC for my honest review.
