It's literature... -smutty-... literature. I appreciate any critique thrown my way. I try to catch all spelling and grammar but I'm not showing this off to an editor before I post it on here, so by all means let me know if you catch something!

Never have I ever wished to have genie or djinn….until now. This anthology of romance stories based upon the mythical djinn are dark and beyond hot and steamy! Each author drew me into their world with their story and I couldn’t put this one down. I loved not knowing where each story would take me and how each had its own personality. Seriously, you get a taste of everything from alpha/omega, historical, paranormal and more with different levels of darkness. Some ended with their version of a happily ever after/for now, but a couple were left with cliffhangers that I am excited to see if the author will continue it in a standalone in the future. Darkest Wishes is a collection of stories that are fantastically written - with characters that you will love, some that you will hate to love, and plots that will take hold of you and not let go, along with enough steam that will make the warm days of summer even hotter. I loved it and am left wanting more.

****I received an arc of this story from the author in exchange for my honest review****

I absolutely LOVED this anthology. I will be honest and disclose that I read the book because VT Bonds is my go-to for dark delicious Omegaverse fun. She does not disappoint in her contribution which is the opening story of the anthology. VT Bonds has the amazing ability to intertwine dark nefarious sexy Alphas with the exact amount of devotion and worshipping traits to make the perfect Alpha book boyfriend. She conjures not one but 2 Alpha djinns that will give you a run for your panties! Another story that stands out is Emma Mountford's Release. This is the first time I read her work and boy does she bring an interesting romantic twist to the dark djinn tale. Overall all the authors had phenomenal contributions that kept me glued for hours- I mean hours! The steamy raw passionate scenes are soul shattering, leaving us panting for more. I do hope that some of the cliffies in the anthology lead to standalones books.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion.

“I’ve addicted my body and endeared my soul to hers “

V.T.Bonds begins Darkest Wishes: A Jinn Anthology, with her story, Zuli’s Mates. This crushing and emotionally charged story is why I would choose to read anything and everything that V.T.Bonds writes.

Additional tales in the anthology hold up to Bonds’ level of dark entertainment. New authors and stories to me included Emma Mountford’s Release, D.E. Chapman’s Risky Wishes, Merel Pierce’s Wish Me Real, Ana B. Starr’s The Baroness and the Brothers Djinn, and Chelsii Klein’s King of Horrors.

Imaginative, amidst their darkness, Darkest Wishes Anthology stories are where your dreams can take you…if you just allow them to do so!

This is a wonderful anthology that is full of stories that I hope get expanded and turned into full novels. Each of them is dark, but they are all dark in their own way. I have read a lot of paranormal dark romances but I don't think I've seen many, if any, Djinn stories so that made this anthology even better. I loved the different takes each author took on the Djinn, I loved the differing levels and takes on what a dark romance is, and I loved that none of the stories were similar.

Shattered Djinn by V.T. Bonds - This story is about Zuli, an author who is battling writers block, Kai'tau, a Djinn with a dark streak, and Ke'nu, the light to Kai'tau's dark. The story is super sexy with a touch of the Omegaverse blended with the mystique of the Djinn. The characters are intriguing and the, the plot is original, and the heat is high with this one. I can't wait to see where their story goes from here.

Release by Emma Mountford - This is a new to me author who I can't wait to dive into. Her take has a touch of ghost or haunting story. Ady has recently inherited the home she grew up in and she has returned to clean it out and decide what to do with it, but there are some secrets and dangers hiding in this old house. His name is Michael, but what he is, and what his plans for Ady are remain a mystery. The story is reminiscent of a gothic novel and I loved it. There are dangers all around them and their love may not be enough to give them their HEA.

King of Horrors by Chelsii Klein - This is another new to me author that I'm excited to discover. Her world is based on the Candy Land game but it isn't the sweet innocent game of my childhood. Instead, it's dark and twisted and everything is trying to kill you. I loved that about the story. The other thing I liked is the Emerald, or Fellen. She wasn't what I was expecting. This is just the beginning of the tale and it's going to be a wild ride that's full of danger, secrets, and heat.

Risky Wishes by D.E. Chapman - This is another Omegaverse/ Djinn mix and I'm here for it! It's the story of an Omega, Cami, her sister, Clara, and the Seven Sinners. It's dark and sexy and full of twists. It actually has an ending of sorts, but I feel there is more to the story because it's not a happy one. The protective streak that I'm used to from the Omegaverse trope isn't part of this one and it added a darker dimension that I really appreciated.

The Baroness and the Brothers Djinn by Ana B. Starr - This is the story that broke my heart the most. I felt for Ivy and her indecision and guilt. I felt her anger at the Djinn who are her captors and the undeniable attraction. This one took a turn I wasn't expecting and that also broke my heart. I also felt vindication at the end. I'm not sure if this one will have more added onto it because it actually gives a fairly satisfactory ending, and it's even happy. So even though this one could be considered a short and not just a beginning it's not lacking. The characters are complex, the heat level is high, the relationships between Ivy and the three djinn are all unique and fulfilling, and the story has depth. It's been a while since I've read any of Ms. Starr's books and this story reminded me of why I fell instantly in love with her writing.

Wish Me Real by Merel Pierce - This is the final story in the anthology and it's dark in a way none of the others were. Cecily's a nice, innocent, animal loving girl who has a big heart and not the best luck. that big heart and her bad luck are about to get her in trouble. The only things I'm going to say about this one is that Fastiq is a through and through bad boy. Even after finishing the story I'm not sure if I like him or not, and I actually like that. It's not the typical bad-boy-made-good, or at least he isn't at the ending of this part. I really hope Ms. Pierce adds on to this one. I would love to see more of the bond between Cecily and Fastiq. I would love to see the impact they have on each other and who wins their battle.

All in all, this is a fabulous dark romance anthology. Each story is strong and doesn't get lost among the others. I couldn't pick a favorite because each of them had something I loved and they are each so unique. The stories are short enough in length that you could read one on your lunch break but I was so sucked in that I read it in one sitting. Either way, it's a must read.

Oh my soul this Anthology with the compilation of 6 dark twisted authors will get your adrenaline pumping and wish for a djinn or two or seven of your own!

Not every story has a happy ending but a happy for now or make your own conclusion.

V.T Bonds takes you to the omegaverse with dark sensual djinns one dark and twisted and one light and sweet that are fighting a losing battle with themselves for their mate will they accept they will have to share her to break the curse?

Merely Pierce teaches you a lesson not to just pick up a stray dog in the dessert, and rub behind his ears you never know what will appear in the night....

D.E. Chapman takes you to another realm where Omegas are only breeding mares for dominating Alphas who want to claim them and poor Camia has to deal with seven Alpha Djinns who need her to free them- be careful what you wish for.....

Emma Mountford shows us that not all monsters wear grotesque faces but more angelic and that is what Adalyn discovers after wiping a Dusty mirror in her grandmothers bedroom.....

Chelsii Klein describes a realm where a dark djinn King rules that can enter a supernatural hunter's dreams and entice her to Sweetland.....

Ana B Starr takes you on a journey to another world where three djinns rule and desire a newly married baroness who was kidnapped after a hunt or was she?

Every story is dark and steamy with a sensual twisted djinn or two or three or even seven!

Loved it!

Thank you for the opportunity!

I have to say I have mix feeling about this anthology. Mixed in that I loved every one of them and yet I feel cheated at the same time. Cheated in that I want more (LOL). I feel like a lot of these ended on a major cliffhanger and if the authors do not have any plans to write anymore, then I am totally out of luck. See my dilemma??? I follow some of these authors (only two are new-ish to me) on their social media so I've been excited for this anthology. I really really hope (FINGERS CROSSED) there will be more, especially for Chelsii Klein's "King of Horrors"(that ending almost made me not want to read anymore!), D.E. Chapman's "Risky Wishes", and Merel Pierce's "Wish Me Real". The other ones, I am okay with the ending but not to say I don't want more. Read at your own risk cause my heart is still hurting...LOL.

Wonderful page-turner. If you thought you knew about the Jinn this anthology will show you a different world. If you want your deepest darkest desires granted then make a wish. The wishes are only for the brave of heart. These authors have put together a yummy unique Jinn anthology and a unique world full of mystery and delicious villains. Each story will captivate your senses and have you begging for more. Each story has a past full of mystery, a future full of revenge, and a future yet to be told. I am hoping each author revisits this original world of the Jinn and other characters are explored to give us more world building. There is sex and romance with a HEA, it is short read and interesting from beginning to end. These stories have mystery and intrigue with a dash of revenge and are worth making into a series. Each story brings you a refreshing world of magic, mystery and intrigue. These stories will forever change your mind about the Jinn and their world.

wow what a book, I’ve never read djinn/genie stories before and I didn’t know what to expect but these stories just blew me away. This anthology is full of dark romance, with a different level of darkness and a mix of genres from pnr, historical (I’m not a big fan of this genre but I just loved reading this story) and alpha/omega so it has a bit of everything. Some of the stories were left open so I’m hoping the authors will go back to them. I read this because of one author and after finishing this book I have found more authors that I will certainly read in the future. I could not put this book down and I hope to see more of these characters.

Dark, Sexy and Entertaining Anthology

This anthology is dark, hot and steamy. Each story is fantastic as the authors stories completely pulled me into their world. Some of the stories are happy for now while others end on a cliffhanger. I can't wait to see what each author has in store for these stories in the future. Though I really enjoyed all of the stories my favorite is VT Bonds' Shattered Djinns. Kai'tus, Ke'nu, and Zuli's story is unique, emotional and phenomenal. I really hope there will be more to this story in the future. I also really enjoyed King of Horrors. I am excited to see how this addicting story with a dark Candy Land twist will play out. Overall this anthology is very entertaining!!

Fun anthology of djinn stories!

Djinn are one of the supernatural critters that don't seem to get much time in modern literature. This book is full of them! Like all anthologies some of the books are a better read than others and at least one is a prequel for an upcoming series but this is definitely worth the read! I hope we see more djinn in the future! A special mention for the last story written by Merel Pierce. That one was really good and I wanted it to be much longer! The whole book is hot and sexy and will keep you wanting more!

I absolutely LOVED this collection of short stories about Jinn, which I really haven't read a lot of up until this point. Each author's story was wonderfully detailed and made me fall in love with a whole new paranormal genre! I especially loved Chelsii Klein's story, King of Horrors, which puts a crazy/exciting/sexy spin on a game I grew up playing, Candy Land. I'm in love with Neek and the end of this story left me teetering on the edge of the cliff, dying for MORE!!!

Djinn

I liked the variety of stories in this anthology. I didn't like a couple of them but for the most part I enjoyed reading the anthology. I'd recommend it. Especially if you like paranormal romance that involves djinn.

This is a great way to sample awesome authors. I love anthologies for this reason. You can read books by authors you love and even try out new authors.

My favorite part of these was the different versions of Djinn these authors come up with. Each was unique. There was even Omegaverse in this anthology! Which is one of my favorites to read. Totally recommend!

King of Horrors - by Chelsii Klein is an epic retelling that will leave you wanting more.
You thought Candyland was just a game, but what if you had to play a life or death version of the game, where noone ever wins?

WOW this collection was fantastic! What a perfect dark Djinn collection.

Shattered Djinns- V.T. Bonds
"It isn't a declaration of love, but I understand the depths of his heart. I need him too."

Kai'tus and Ke'nu my heart, my light vs darkness, but destined to have to both!
Zuli doesn't know it yet but so is she. WOW!! Breathtaking, beautiful, V.T. is an Omega Queen and has created the Djinn story of a lifetime. This story is fresh, unique and unlike anything, I have ever read before. Phenomenal story and world development to set the stage for a full-length story. Detailed history and backstory of a Djinn torn apart but the past and a heart-wrenching story of a girl who brought them to their knees.

Release - Emma Mountford
"Because I am going to come, and when I do, you are going to realise just how inhuman I am."

Need I even say more?? Ady and Michael... WOW! This story was so great. I loved the mirror talisman and the story of gatekeepers and the shadow world This story left me yearning for more. I can't wait to see what happens when daddy comes to town. Michael was so sweet and kind and really loved her. This was a tender story with a dark Djinn who set the stage for such a bigger story. I can't wait!!

Wish Me Real- Merel Pierce
"I wish you were real." "Granted."

OMG, this story. Fastiq, the dark and delicious Djinn. I will never pet my dog the same way again! HAHA This was such a unique story. Wow! I LOVED this story. Fastiq was cursed to the form of a dog left abandoned where an unsuspecting and innocent Cecily found him. This Djinn seduced her in some of the hottest nonconsensual dreams I have ever seen! This Djinn did not just her wishes but from anyone. He would grant these wishes at his will but then would corrupt and twist them in some menacing way. He was dark, powerful, and dangerous. It was a beautiful mix of everything I love. I want to see how she will deal with the fact that she unleashed Fastiq into the world. How will this relationship develop with his dominance and darkness? Can't wait!

My favourite is "The Baroness and the brother Djinns" by Ana B Starr. Refreshing, unique and sweet. Love the twist and how the story unfolds. The pace of the story is just right for the novella size. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Shattered Djinns by VT Bonds and Risky Wishes by DE Chapman are also enjoyable. Risky wishes is also dark omegaverse, true to DE Chapman's style. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Merel Pierce's is my least favourite. The first part is quite slow and the latter feels rushed ( which I think is a typical issue of her writing. Her story has a good plot in general but the story pace is dragging)⭐⭐⭐

I DNF the other two stories after reading 1-2 chapters and find it difficult to engage the story.

RATING: 4 / 5 ⭐
GENRE: Paranormal
TYPE: Anthology
STORIES: 6 stories (370+ pages)
Will I re-read it? Some of the stories, yes!
This anthology was read on Kindle and hence, number of pages might differ from other versions/readers.

This Anthology consists of well written stories and I felt that the quality of them all was balanced which isn’t always the case when it comes to anthologies. It was fun to read the stories and the authors' different takes on Djinns. Some were darker than others and it wasn’t always happy endings but I enjoyed them and they all made me feel something! Some of them include Omegaverse, Reverse Harems and dub/non-consent and isn’t for everyone.

Short review for each story below.

Shattered Djinns (c. 68 pages) by V.T. Bonds.
Zuli’s Mates (I think this will be an upcoming series)
Rating: 3.5 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 3.5 / 5 🔥
Zuli gets a feeling that something is watching her and it’s not just one but two entities that plays with her mind.
This story is not for people who get triggered by dubious-to-non-consent. It is a dark and twisted story but the author also writes some scenes beautifully. The Djinn in this story are divided into two, one dark and one light part and when they find Zuli, an Omega, they can’t let her go. I do have a hard time understanding the Omegaverse trope but other than that, I liked this story.

Release (c. 42 pages) by Emma Mountford.
Rating: 3.5 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 3 / 5 🔥
Adalyn takes over her grandmother's house and meets an old acquaintance.
This was an interesting story about a Djinn imprisoned in another world/dimension that seeks freedom but there is only one way for him to get set free. It was well written and enjoyable.

King of Horrors (c. 53 pages) by Chelsii Klein.
Prequel to the Land of Horrors (not yet out)
Rating: 3.5 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 2 / 5 🔥
A Jinn and other supernaturals is bound to a land and is tasked to do one thing, to kill the humans who enters the land.
This was an interesting prequel. Neek, a Jinn bound to the Sweet Land as punishment, finds his soulmate and visits her in her dreams. He needs her to go to his lands and pass all the tests that’s within it. It is well written and got me interested in reading the next book since it ended when the action started.

Risky Wishes (c. 60 pages) by D.E. Chapman.
Rating: 3 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 3 / 5 🔥
Two Omega’s get kidnapped and taken to the Seven Sinners that rule a wasteland.
The main trope in this story is Omegaverse and the Djinn element isn’t included until the last part of the story. It had a few misspellings and I got really frustrated in how it ended (I would not say it is a happy ending) and would love to read a longer version of this story so our main female character can get the ending she deserves. It is dark and doesn’t contain love or kindness.

The Baroness and the Brothers Djinn (c. 73 pages) by Ana B. Starr.
Rating: 4 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 3 / 5 🔥
Three Djinn brothers bring a human female into their realm.
I really liked this story! It was written beautifully and was easy to read. I loved the differences between the brothers and all the descriptions in this story. The only thing that got me a bit annoyed was the repetitive mentioning about Bron. I would love to read more from this author.

Wish Me Real (c. 49 pages) by Merel Pierce.
Rating: 4 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 2 / 5 🔥
A woman gets stranded in the desert and finds an abandoned dog.
Well written story that started sweet and stayed sweet until the end when it got a bit darker. It felt like the main part of the story played out in the desert and I would have liked to read a bit more about the Djinn.
