Evil is lurking in the dark and casting a shadow around the Devil’s Knights.
When that evil comes knocking on Luna’s door, Detective Ransom has had enough. Luna is his and no one is going to take her away from him.
Luna’s been testing her limits from day one and is determined to be seen as an equal when it comes to not only the Devil’s Knights but also the sexy detective who sets her panties on fire.
If Detective Ransom really wants Luna, he’s gonna have to work for it because Luna is done being set on the sidelines because she’s a woman.
Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Winter Travers is a devoted wife, mother, and aunt turned author who was born and raised in Wisconsin. After a brief stint in South Carolina following her heart to chase the man who is now her hubby, they retreated back up North to the changing seasons, and to the place they now call home. Winter spends her days writing happily ever afters, and her nights being a karate mom hauling her son to practices and tournaments. She also has an addiction to anything MC related, puppies, and baking.
When you open up a Winter Travers book you know its going to be filled with so much love, laughter, fun, action, drama and just so much more.
And this one was no different. I was always a fan of Luna. She was bad ass who wouldn’t want to be her. And I still love her, I was just annoyed with her with her attitude in the beginning towards Ransom. But it was just her way of pushing him away. I loved that Ransom could see past all the walls she was putting up and the attitude.
In between all of this we are still on the hunt for the serial killer. Dammit this guy just cant be caught. And we get introduced to, Bear… Hmmm…. Lol… And another murder taking place. And then that horrible ending. I was not impressed Miss Winter Travers. And I have to wait so long for the next book… Not Cool.
All in all like I said, action, drama, laughter, suspense and so much family getting into the other’s business. Greta, I am waiting for your book 😊 ❤ ❤
So excited we got Luna and Ransom's story! Luna is packed full of sass and attitude with an independent streak a mile wide. Ransom is desperately trying to catch the serial killer while also trying to figure out how to get back what he and Luna had a few years ago. The interactions we've seen previously indicated that these two hated each other. But now we learn it was quite the opposite. I love how Ransom could see past Luna's rough exterior and how understood how she felt when being told no.
When Ransom couldn't get a solid lead in the case and the pressure to solve it started to get too much he called in his old partner and best friend, Bear. Bear is a retired officer turned bounty hunter. The friendship between Bear and Ransom was easy and funny! I love Bear's confusion when he encounter the Knights and their old ladies - especially Meg changing his name🤣
And omg Luna and Greta!! Those two together are hilarious and definitely trouble. Greta's book is up next and I have a feeling it's going to be an emotional ride. Hopefully, Bear is there for Greta. I will say I think Luna and Ransom just might be my favorite second generation couple, bumping Royal and Marco down a spot.🖤🔥 As always, well done Winter!!
I wanted to like this book more but I couldn't because of Luna. I will give it 3.5 stars but I'm forced to put 3 stars, I can't put more. Them as a couple was fantastic, loved it, they had all the tension and banter and I was all here for it. I like when women are independet, loved it more than anything, but I think there's a clear diference between that and just being a pain the *ss to everyone around you and just plain stubborn. I understood where she was coming from but she was so disrespecteful to everyone and did whatever she wanted without caring for the consequences or other peoples feelings. For me, she was selfish. I mean, she broke it off with Ransom two years ago and in the present is always mad at him when he doesn't deserve it, it pissed me off. He was trying, with her and with the case and she didn't make things easier for him in the least. She was the one who broke off with him and she was the one who was angry. The HELL ??!! And when she thought she was being funny or sassy or whatever, she really wasn't. It felt like she was a child and half the time she was throwing tantrums. Ransom had to work and she wanted to go with him. The hell for? IT'S HIS JOB, STOP TRYING TO MAKE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU. She was almost kidnapped by the killer, Ransom saved her and a few days later she leaves her "bodyguard" behind and goes for a car ride. That's not funny, that's just plain stupidity. There's a freaking killer on the loose, GROW THE F*CK UP. Ransom was a saint for putting up with her, I am not even kidding
Bucking Tradition was the fifth book in the Devil’s Knight’s MC second generation series by Winter Travers. It was a spinoff from the original series and although it wasn’t necessary to have read the original series, the second generation was better enjoyed in order.
Ransom was the town detective. He had been around the Devil’s Knights MC for years, and had tried to prospect in his earlier days, but was rejected. He wasn’t necessarily a friend to the club, but he wasn’t an enemy either.
Luna was the daughter of Troy and Marley(Original series) and although she wasn’t a direct child of the club, through their association, she was like a daughter to the club. She had been around the MC her entire life. She was independent, strong and wanted to be a member of the club. When they stepped in and told her what to do, her independent crazy came out.
Bucking Tradition picked up where the previous book left off, with Luna in trouble and a serial killer still on the loose. The scene opened with Ransom and Luna as Travers unfolded the details of what had just happened. Travers then took us through Ransom and Luna’s development while Ransom - with some assistance from the Devil’s Knights tried to find a killer.
All in all, it was a quick and suspenseful read. As always, the story will continue into the next book of the series for Greta, Luna’s best friend and shared crazy.

Bucking Tradition is book five of the Devil's Knights 2nd Generatiointerestin This is a second chance, enemies to lovers romance focusing on Luna and Ransom. These two are stubborn, head strong, and have a sick satisfaction of irritating each other lol. Their hatred for each other was strong in the earlier books of the series, but there is more going on with these two then what's on the surface.
Ransom comes off as an a-hole under pressure and trying to keep the town safe, but he's dedicated, caring, and hard working. He's not afraid to ask for help or admit when he's wrong. He's not a quitter either. Luna uses her sass and bratty attitude as a defense mechanism because she doesn't like to appear vulnerable. But under that tough exterior is a girl screaming for attention, affection, and for all her dreams to come true. Their spark is undeniable.
The mystery continues in this book. It's unpredictable, humerous, and has it's twists. The title is definitely fitting and Traverse is bucking tradition with this MC and the direction it's moving towards. Things are getting interesting and we meet some new characters. I can't wait to see the shenanigans Greta pulls next.
Ms. Travers has done it again with another amazing MC book that kept me on pins and needles. Just who is the serial killer?! Will Ransom figure it out before its too late?
I love Luna with all of her sassiness and when you put Luna and Greta together you just never know what those two will get up to.
This book has so much to it with all of the suspense with some humor mixed in. We got to meet Bear in this book and he was a great addition.
But really Ms. Travers that cliffhanger!!! I can’t wait to see where you are taking me next. What a fantastic series!!
Ransom and Luna have danced around each other enough. With a killer on the loose, Luna needs full time protection. The banter between these two is hilarious and each character bring so much to this book. I can’t wait to see what happens with Greta. Excellent writing.
~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~~
The first part of this story was a slow read for me but once it picked up I loved it. Ransom was nothing but patient waiting for Luna to open up to him. All the while he and Bear search for the serial killer. I loved all these characters and Greta especially. Can't wait to see where this series takes me next.
Absolutely loved this book. I love Luna and have been waiting for her book. Ms. Winter didn’t disappoint. Once I started the book I couldn’t put it down. Luna and Ransom are quite a pair. They are both strong and independent and protective. While Ransom is a detective who use to prospect for the club but it didn’t work out. When trouble comes a calling Ransom and Luna work together. This book was so worth it. I absolutely loved it and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I like how each book builds onto the storyline that was originally done, but has its own unique twists and turns. It doesn't feel like a cliffhanger. The characters are well done in each book too. For some reason, I didn't care for Luna (main female lead), but I still enjoyed the book.
I just love 2nd generation stories! Ranson and Luna's story is the perfect addition to this series. I adored Luna's sass and additude! Her and Greta together.....TROUBLE for sure! The OG Old Ladies are as crazy and entertaining as ever! I'm hoping Bear and Greta get a story.....because Greta leaves us hanging at the end! I recieved ARC and this is my honest review
Gosh I can't get enough of this series . I loved this book and couldn't put it down . I love the wity banter between Greta and Luna they remind me so much of Meg and Cyn . But Ransom , man can he send a reader into a hot mess .
I'm so emotionally invested in every couple in this series and Luna and Ransom are so exception . High jinx and mayhem seem to follow these two characters and I loved every minute of this book .
Bucking Tradition is book five in the Devil's Knights second generation series and while you can easily follow along with the characters' stories, it is not recommended to read out of order as the series continues on trying to find this dang killer. Luna oh Luna! That sass continues, but now we see the true you that we did not get to see in the prior stories. Ransom knows when to push and when to pull back. He's on a mission to complete his job, but at the same time to keep them safe. I love when he brings in his BF, former partner-turned bounty hunter! The reaction to meeting the Knights, especially the girls, is hilarious. That name change was funny! Greta is still trouble especially when she and Luna get together. Speaking of trouble, Miss Winters you are not funny, I keep watching the minutes left in the story and like a nut was holding out hope that the story would come full circle knowing that my chances were slim. Then bang the end! I knew my suspicion was suspect and boy do I think I am right (I hope)! Now I have to sit and wait a really long time for the next book to be released. HAHA! Guess we should just grab a Popular Mechanics magazine and see if we can find any interesting stories while we wait for the story we are patiently waiting to get our hands on. ;) I love that this series is full of suspense, love, chemistry and funny. This second generation keeps up with oldies quite well. Loved what the title stood for and was proud of the outcome! Lips are sealed so read this series.
I’ve been wondering what the deal was with Luna and Ransom, and I’m pleased to say it was all I’d expected and more! She’s got assumptions, he’s stubborn. He’s got a job to do, she’s stubborn. It takes some wise words from a newcomer’s perspective for Luna to see that maybe, just maybe, she’s been a tad hasty in a few things. Sure, she’s in danger. Sure, she’s attracted to Ransom. But those aren’t permanent things, right?
As for Ransom, he’s been hoping to find a way back in ever since he was unceremoniously tossed out. And he’s not about to let this chance pass him by. He’s determined to solve this case, get the girl, and help her achieve her dreams. He just needs Luna to trust him enough to really let him into her heart and head this time.
Two people finding their way back to each other should be easy, shouldn’t it? But when you’ve got doses of crazy that these men and women came by honestly, as well as a killer on the loose, nothing is easy. No one is safe. And just as it all falls into place for Luna and Ransom, the bottom drops out for someone else. Who? What happened? Is there something good or bad waiting for Bear and the person he’s running after? I guess we have to wait until flipping January to find out.
This was a really cute story, we laughed throughout the entire story between Luna and Greta by gut was hurting. LOL, That Luna is one bad*** loved her.
The characters were great as always they're fun, and we loved their banter and playfulness and loved the fact that the old ladies are a good part of these stories that make them awesome.
This is an ongoing plot that just got more interesting and the game was just up and the author left us with one heck of a cliffhanger. Can you hear me growling, I hate them! Love Meg, she is always a gem to see gracing our current pages and story. We can already tell we are going to love Bear, can't wait for his story, is he going to fall in love with the spicy Greta?
Luna and Ransom made an awesome couple, loved their chemistry, and loved that they worked out their differences enough to give love another try. Clearly they belong together, so I was rooting for them.
What happened toward the end of the story was a big surprise and an awesome one, which made us love Ransoms character even more for planting the seed and making his women happy. Got to love those Devil Knights for seeing what's right in front of their faces. Bless them. Loved it! Winter has definitely become one of our go-to authors.
Terrific 2nd gen Devil’s Knights romance suspense! This keeps the story going and picks up where the last one left off with Luna in peril. It’s the sexy cop Ransom that’s in the right place at the right time and comes to Luna’s rescue. Then it’s all action and suspense as the dangerous serial killer is not done yet. On the flip side there’s the usual crazy fun, wonderful family and the fabulous world of the MC. I love this group of crazy kids all grown up and ready to take over. The dynamic duo of Luna and Greta are in full form with their wild antics and living large. Serious cop Ransom is ready to keep Luna safe at all costs even if she fights him at every turn. I love these two together and when Luna finally gets over her fears it’s magic. Sexy, hot magic! Ransom calls in his former partner turned bounty hunter Bear to help with the investigation. Looks like Bear and Greta may become a thing. Only time will tell. It’s a race to find the killer before more girls die. Will one strange clue lead to the culprit? This is a quick, easy read with a terrific cast of characters, a suspenseful storyline and a sexy romance. I look forward to the next installment in this MC series. Worth the read!
What a wild ride. The author has given us a well written, 2nd chance, suspenseful MC Book that has bouts of laughter and romance. I mean, this reader couldn’t ask for anything more. This is Luna’s story. I think I fell in love with Luna’s character a few books back. She is a stubborn, independent woman who hates the word No. As a club princess, she grew up protected and surrounded by men that often told her No. So when she started dating Ransom after a few months she pushed him away, knowing he would eventually start telling her No she couldn’t do this or that. But would he have? Perhaps Ransom knew her better than most. Fast forward a could years, Ransom is now a police detective set on solving the murder of the girls assoicated with the MC’s Strip Club. Especially after Luna, His Luna, is almost a victim.
This is an amazing series (as was the 1st generation). BTW, you don’t have to have read the first generation to enjoy this series, but it’s well worth the read in this reader's opinion. I highly recommend grabbing them all up, including Bucking Tradition. You won’t be sorry you did.
Loved this book because we finally get a glimpse into what makes Luna tick and what all the tension that has been between her and Ransom in this series is about. Ransom and Luna are a matched set but Luna's stubborn streak has kept them apart so far. She knew she had made a mistake when she broke things off, but Ransom was patient and was laying in wait until he could wear her down and slip under her defenses. The point in the book where the title makes sense was a moment I won't forget and I was anxious to see how what Luna wanted was going to be handled by the Knights. I was not disappointed in the Knights-first or second generation. The book ends on an 'OMG' moment that makes you wish the days would fly by even faster to get Greta's story. The relationship between Greta and Luna is as crazy as some of the OG Knight's ladies, which isn't surprising given their DNA. Greta will be a wild ride. The second generation is living up to the high bar the first generation set and easily clearing the hurdle.
Okay now if you don’t know who Luna’s parents are you might want to stop and start from the first generation. Not that you need to it would just help in understanding why Luna is so passionate about being all in and not always on the side lines. Now Ransom or Detective Ransom you handsome devil has always wanted Luna and will stop at nothing to claim her. I loved how that even meant getting past her walls. That he was willing to do. Even though you could see that they it was more then a hate hate relationship that these two felt for each other you couldn’t help but want to smack Luna every time she encountered Ransom. All he wanted was what they used to have oh and to catch the serial killer obviously. I mean that is important also. I do believe these two are meant to be as long as they stop fighting themselves. Now what the what was that ending. I know I know I am not the only one ready to throw something and demand a recount. Or demand the next book tomorrow. WE ARE NOT PATIENT. Am I the only one curious about Bear? Wow just wow.
Luna's story has to be my favorite to date because she was amazing! She's the girl who marches to the beat of her own drum, and when she's with Greta, they're trouble with a capital T! Bucking Tradition starts off with Ransom (a detective) seeing Luna almost dying by the hand of the serial killer no one can catch. This killer is killing off all of Luna's girls, and she's beside herself but she's also the only one who survived this person trying to kidnap her so she's in serious danger herself which is why she ends up with Ransom & his best friend, Bear, at her house once she gets out of the hospital. Oh, and these two were something in the past until she decided she couldn't be with him, but I won't tell you why. This story had the twists coming in hot, heat turned up, humor that kept me laughing hard, and maybe just maybe a second chance for Ransom & Luna. Of course the cliffhanger for the next book as the suspense will be turned up & it will seem like forever since it's going to be a cool minute before it's released & I'm going to be dying inside! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I LOVED IT! BUT, I loved this addition to the DKMC family. But I have to say this book had alot of editing errors, they didn't take away from the story but enough to make it annoying. I had my suspicions about Ransom and Luna but then Luna is the type of character you hate to love and love to hate but in this book you get to see a vulnerable side to her. Ransom is a total sweetheart but also a big bada** and his friend Bear sounds even bigger and badder. The suspense at times was like a shock to my system. I addition of Birdie should be fun, she's just like Greta and Luna. Greta is freakin hilarious! Put her and Zig and Zag in a room together and I'd probably pee my pants laughing. Lol! The mystery is killin me! I have absolutely no clue who could be doing the killings. Random and Luna are unbelievably hot together. Who knew Luna has a softer side. Lol. I've gotta get to the next book now to find out what's coming next. I highly recommend this series to everyone.
Bucking Tradition by Winter Travers is book 5 in the Devil's Knights 2nd Generation Series. This is the story of Luna and Ransom. I have read the previous books which to be honest did help me to enjoy this one because although they are standalone books there is a underlining story going through each one making it connecting story. Luna we know as a sassy take no prisoner attitude who is fully independent but has a strong love for her family and friends. The club she owns starts having death associated to her club she at a lost but is all about cracking the case Detective Ransom is the strong arm of the law working to solve the serial killer that is on the loose. Along with that we learn that Luna and Ransom have a past history. But through the series they have been butting heads but this book is their story and what a story it was. I am crazy about this series so I highly recommend this book and the series.
Bucking Tradition is the fifth title in the Devils Knights second generation series. After the ending to Changing Lanes, I was eager for more of Luna’s story. Luna’s my kind of heroine, her feisty, strong, sassy, and independent exterior hides a deeply vulnerable heart. Ransom is under pressure and desperate to find the serial killer, responsible for the deaths of women associated with the Devils Knights, but has been unsuccessful so far, and he isn’t afraid to ask for help in the form of Bear, an intriguing addition to the series. Ransom is dedicated, caring, hardworking and protective, and fits in with the Devils Knights, despite the fact he never made it as a prospect. This pair are both incredibly head strong and their banter is full of verbal sparring. They love nothing more than to get a rise from each other. An enjoyable red with equal parts suspense, humour, heat and heart and I look forward to the next addition to the series.
Things are changing—at least they ought to be according to Luna. She's been a part of the MC her entire life. She loves the club and understands the rules. She just thinks it's time that women move up from behind the men. She's been taught to defend herself with proof positive when she escapes from kidnappers likely in league with the serial killer after their club dancers.
Ransom once wanted to be part of the club but was passed because his heart is with law enforcement. That doesn't mean he doesn't want her. He'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe and keep her for himself. Being in danger brings them together to keep her guarded. Will they be able to resist their feelings? How does he feel about her goals?
I loved this one watching this strong woman fight for her future and the man helping her “Buck Tradition”. Steam, lots of MC action, MC characters, great story. There are still answers needed. I want the next book.
Another step to finding out who the serial killer is! Luna is extremely stubborn, especially after being raised as a MC kid. While she had a thing with Ransom, a local cop, in the past, she eventually decided she couldn’t ever be with him long term and ended things. But when the serial killer goes after Luna and Ransom responds, he becomes even more dedicated to find out who is behind things while making sure to keep Luna safe. I found myself constantly laughing at the banter and personalities between these two while also on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who is behind the murders but more importantly why. I can’t decide if the book was my favorite, or if the absolute EPIC cliffhanger involving Luna’s best friend Gretta and the serial killer! I’m intrigued to see if this will involve Bear, Ransom’s friend he called in to help with tracking the killer down. So excited! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Finally! We get to learn more about Luna & what's been making her tick through this series. I absolutely adore her fire & spirit! And her dreams... And how Ransom helps encourage her to go after them.
This story starts out with an intense situation, continuing the suspense that's been throughout the whole series. While Ransom & Bear keep the investigation going, getting closer & closer to solving one of the toughest cases they've seen, Ransom is doing a great job of showing Luna his feelings for her never died, even when she pushed him away!
As a couple, I love their banter & the love they have for one another. And Luna & Greta's craziness can be fun, but considering what's going on in the story right now, also made me want to smack them. LOL
Thumbs up - and as always, the ending & preview of the next story...!!! EEK!
This second chance romance is a slow burn that will leave you in the edge of your seat. Ransom and Luna are perfect for each other! I just knew that I was going to love this Luna's story. She is everything you think she is. She is strong, sassy, and tenacious. With that she is also vulnerable and wears her tough girl exterior like a coat of amor. Ransom sees just who Luna is. He understands the things she wants out of life and he does not hold it against her in any way. He supports her, builds her up, and proves to her that it is ok to want things. He is the perfect ying to her yang. The story line is a continuation and we get more clues to who is doing the evil things to the woman. Winter does an amazing job at keeping us intrigued with that. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.
Oh, oh ohhhhh man!! We were not ready for Luna's story, I swear. You learn about her, bits and pieces in the first four books (seriously you should read them). She is a biker child with massive attitude but you don't know where it comes from. Now you find out. She is complicated to the core and a Knight to the core. Running the strip club and doing what needs to be done all the time. There for her girls. This book starts where book 4 teases and it does not disappoint at all. Ransom, the detective we learn about rhough out, the one that wanted to be a Knight but... someone said no, it wouldn't work. They have history, that no one knows about but might be able to sense. The case continues and they start to work together, trying to piece more and more together while.. coming together. Absolutely worth the wait!! Wow and again, Winter is an evil mastermind and I cannot wait for the next!!
Another couple following in the first gen's footsteps! Luna's dad might have never officially joined the Devil's Knights but Troy was definitely an honorary one. Luna grew up in the club, its all she ever knew. Detective Ransom might have wanted to joint the Knights once upon a time but now he is an officer of the law. An officer who is bound and determined to find the sicko who keeps killing Luna's girls. They once had a thing going but Luna shoved him out of her life and has no plans on changing that. Ransom has other ideas. I love how Ms Travers always manages to insert laughter in her stories. She likes to torture her readers just a smidgen by teasing you at the end for the next book and I am here for it. I love that, its the best! This was such a fun, fast read; 5 stars for Luna and Ransom!
This is the 5th book in this phenomenal series and is Ransom and Luna’s journey. Ransom is a detective who is on the hunt for an elusive serial killer, while truing to get back with the sassy and independent Luna. Luna continually pushes Ransom away, but he can see through the façade she hides behind. Ransom calls in his old partner and best friend Bear who is a bounty hunter to help solve his case. It is hilarious when Bear meets the ladies with their crazy antics. This is a well written fun, action packed, story, which is filled with drama, humor, witty banter, suspense, danger, family, friendships, emotions, and love, which leads to an entertaining and riveting page turner. My word, that cliffhanger!! I cannot wait to read the next book in this impressive series, and I highly recommend this talented authors work.
