For once, a novel about boy meets girl, girl meets boy and no pornographic episodes in between to cross your eyes. The authoress really had me when i thought those two were going to head to the bed or floor and then....they didn't. I' m going to be reading the other stories. This is a story i would let a teenager read! No groping, no descriptions that would have you blushing. This is a good old fashioned romance That let's you use you
imagination. So many of today's writers, that want sales, use porno to get their books sold. Why, 2/3 of some books are porno to me because the writer pushes every touch to max out the entanglement that it becomes a porn flick on paper. So explicit in description . some writers out there take away that . when i read a book and the couple becomes involved and the chapter ends leaving you wanting more, and it lets your imagination swirl, now that's writing i can appreciate! It makes you desire to have some thing like that in your own life. Those porn " romantic" novels are tearing down our ideas., our imaginations are destroyed by it. She leaves you feeling for this couple. I think it could have had something more to it, but then i didn't want this strung out. Another nice thing was she didn't repeatedly go on and on about their pasts...another cliff hanger in other writers' books. Ones that write "oh woo is me "...can't get over the repetitive nonsense of the character's past. In this book it's mention on a page here and there. Not taking up 1/2 a chapter like some writers do. This is quick, and to the point. Then you move on to the other brothers. Enjoy the show. I hope the other stories are similar in structure .
Overall it was an enjoyable read. It could use some better editing. I was thrown off several times by the wrong word choice or a missing word. And then the main character Annabelle is out there because of a long since dead stepfather who died when she was five, but then towards the end when she is asked about her dad she says her parents divorced when she was 12. For some reason that really bugged me- I think because the stepfather thing was huge in setting up the whole story. But I liked the characters and storyline. I would like to read more by the author.
This book is awful. I couldn't make it past the first chapter and a half. We open on a cliche cubicle with an evil boss that the whole office seems to hate - cue a letter that has life changing news. Then she's gone.
Then we cliche click over to the next chapter where the male human is written so poorly I'm awed he made it out of the military alive.
I nabbed it as it was free and it should remain free. Nobody should pay for this.

It was a nice light read and a fun romance. A lot of confusion around her inheritance. SPOILER
The author states in the first chapter Annabelle's step father who passed away when she was 6 (married her mom when she was one) left his belongings to her and her mom. When his dad passed away the dad of the step father didn't change his will and left his son in so what was left was given to Annnabelle since her mom was gone. But in Chapter 13 Jack asks Annabelle about her dad and she says him and her mom got divorced when she was 12 and then he died a few years later from a heart attack. So how was her mom married to a step dad from when she was age 1 to 6? I hope the author can clarify if this was a massive mistake that got missed or if there is something else in the story that wasn't explained.

Enjoyed this story about a small town. Meet Jackson and Annabelle, she's from New York and inherited money and property from her stepfather. Jackson is retired from the army and returns home after inherited property from his grandfather which is next to Annabelle. She's very insecure and is an only child (her died of cancer) with no family. Jackson comes from a large family. After meeting Annabelle he becomes very protected of her and she's not used to anyone taking care of her. You will really enjoy this read by Cynthia Dees.
This is a new author to me and the story is a quick, clean read. Annabelle and Jack, who don’t know each other, both inherit land in Montana and a sizable amount of money. Jack already lives in the area and knows all about the winters, wildlife, and other things that come with living there. Annabelle doesn’t. A fun story with humor, wildlife, a little danger, great characters, new beginnings, and a HEA. I’ll be checking out the next book in the series.
This is a fun read. From the minute they meet, sparks fly between Jackson and Annabelle. Jackson bets Annabelle that because she is a city girl she won't last a month in Montana. Annabelle has inherited some property that has an inn on it. She wants to renovate and restore the building into a business. Annabelle has a lot to learn, but she is feisty and brave. Eventually, she learns to listen to Jackson's advice and becomes more successful.
This was a fun, lighthearted story to read, with a sweet HEA. I only knocked off a star because of one glaring discrepancy that should have been caught before publishing. First, a stepfather who does when she's five, and later her parents divorcing when she's twelve. It's still a very good story, but that little tidbit did shock me out of the moment of that particular part of the story. All in all, well worth the read, and I will continue to read the series.
Annabelle the city girl moves to Montana expecting to cash in on an inheritance, but soon learns a city girl knows nothing about living in small town Montana. Jack Sutter returns home from the military to cash in on an inheritance only to learn he is neighbor to a stubborn out of her element city girl. They clash, but hang on as you experience their first thirty days being neighbors.
Some funny moments pop up in this fish-out-of-water story of a young woman in New York working as an office drone. She receives a registered letter one day, managing to spill tea all over herself. The letter is even more of a shock. She has been bequeathed a whole new way of life: a hundred acre plot of land in Montana and the bones of a decrepit outdoor camp. She and Jack meet cute and find ways to combine their lives.
I really enjoyed this book. Loved the storyline, the characters and the general flow. Was looking forward to reading the next book in this series but it isn't under the Kindle Unlimited program.
This awesome reader found a quote from this awesome writer. "He shook his head. “I don’t see it working.” “Then you lack imagination and ovaries,” she retorted."
This was enjoyable enough, even though it started lagging about midway through and barely picked up by the end. A few odd wordings and one discontinuity interrupted the flow occasionally, but I really liked how the protagonists got to know each other before falling in love and weren't lust consumed like in too many other romance novels nowadays.
This is a great, clean read. It introduces you to the Sutter family. Jackson is definitely drawn to his opposite. I enjoyed seeing how they come together. There is no cliffhanger, but the story draws the reader in and gives you a desire to read about the next brother.
Hard to believe that the two main characters were in love and fell in love, the whole novel lacks the emotions to bring them together...And yet the novel had every opportunity to bring them real close. The plot was a good one, just needs that flirty fun and romance.. Do not expect steamy scenes, just a couple of kisses in over a month... Pfft enough said on that point.
This ia a story about a city woman inheriting land in Montana and meeting a country man from the adjoining land. They are attracted to each other but both are leary of the other because of the antagonistic personalities. They keep getting pulled together and their feelings keep growing as disasters happen. Good quick read.
Enjoyed reading this story. Annabelle was shocked to learn her grandfather had left her a large amount of money, plus property in Montana. When she arrives in Montana, to her surprise he has left the adjoining property to another of his grandsons. This story has a variety of interesting characters and holds your interest to the end. I give it 5 stars
I loved reading this story, it was so enjoyable and entertaining. The two main characters Jackson and Annabelle were an obvious favourite for me, but the secondary characters were also fun, especially Jackson's brothers (there's a lot going on there in future books I reckon). Gagging to get into book 2 now. It's a 5☆ from me.
The story was clean and wholesome! It was interesting to learn about how to live and survive in Montana. You could picture the beauty of the state but also learn of the hardships you may have to overcome in that part of the country. It’s great to have literature you can read that is free of sex and foul language! It was enjoyable!
I really liked this book and look forward to reading the rest of the series. I love sweet and heartwarming stories based in Montana or those parts of the country where there are all kinds of nice looking cowboys.
No sex involved of any kind other that a kiss or two.
I have read other books by this author and really enjoy her books. Happy reading!
Annabelle needs a change in her life so when she learns she has inherited property in Apple Pie Creek, Minnesota she quits her job in New York and moves.
Jack is her neighbor and is born and raised there except for time during his military career.
Can a city girl and country boy find happiness together? You bet !!
JG review of Cynthia Dee's, 'Jackson: The Sutter Brothers'
Excellent story and characters. The story held my interest throughout, so much that I did not want to put it down and I did not want it to end. Can't wait to readers of her books.
This is the first story I've read by this author and I laughed out loud in some places, hence the Moisture, and sighed in some places and held my breath in others. This won't be the last by this author that I read
I loved this. The story has funny parts, serious parts and parts with love. The characters are so well written, you want to go to Apple Pie Creek and talk with them.
What a refreshing story, well written and able to keep the readers interest. The relationship stated to reveal the growth without the sex being discribed in detail very nicely done
A very enjoyable sweet easy read. Likeable characters and supporting characters that I want to know more about. Enough going on to keep your attention from beginning to the end
Annabelle has an opportunity and she grabs on with both hands. Jack is skeptical of her determination but helps out nonetheless. Smile, laugh out loud and enjoy the journey.
Good read. Clean read. Good characters, good story line. The only thing found wrong is they were burning pine in the fireplace. That is a definite no. Other than that every thing was fun.
