Another great story in this intriguing Midlife Shifter series. The storyline is well-written and the characters’ attraction is off the charts. I loved how not only the main characters interacted strongly but also the secondary ones. There is a lot of action in this book which kept me reading late into the night to find out what would happen. Don’t miss this one.

A witch and dragon shifter romance? Yes please! Maddie thinks she is just having a one night stand with a handsome rugged man in the wilderness, but then she finds out so much more about him and herself. She ends up in a war with witches and shifters.

Storm and Maddie's Story . . .

Scorn is an alpha dragon exiled from his clan because of his uncontrollable inner dragon. Maddie is a workaholic 40 year old whose friend arranged some time in the woods to relax and enjoy nature. Encountering feral wolves she saw change from men to attack her, she is rescued by Scorn who has noticed that he is much calmer and in control when he is near her. She shows her what he is as well, enjoying his leap off the balcony and her frenzied reaction. The two of them are attracted to each other. But Maddie needs to know what she is since, when she had yelled stop at the leaping wolf, it had frozen right in the air mid-leap! Scorn was prepared to take her to his clan because he needed answers to his theories and he couldn’t leave Maddie alone. Those feral wolves had targeted her. They needed to find out why.

This story line was excellent, the writing done so well that it had a natural flow to it as if the reader were there listening to the characters talking rather than just reading a story. I loved the way Maddie and Scorn interacted. And even after seeing his dragon, she had no fear of him and standing up to him when she felt it necessary. It was a beautiful relationship from two confident people who were comfortable in each other’s presence. Grab your copy and enjoy their story!

The seven book in this series is about a dragon shifter, Scorn Rider and Maddie. Maddie worked 60 hrs. a week in her office for Ice Blade Publishing so her friend Kate told her to relax and booked her on a hiking tour. On the hiking trail Maddie gets separated from her group while looking for bars to connect her phone when she trips and falls off the cliff. Falling Maddie is caught by a dragon who takes her back to the cliffs. Scorn who's been watching the group trespassing in his territory sees Maddie and is drawn toward her. When Scorn hears Maddie yell, he transform and saves her. Once back on the cliffs Scorn transform back to a man and checks Maddie who is hurt so he decides to take her to his cabin. What happen next in this enjoyable story I volunteer to read and review via Booksprout. I like that this was a dragon shifter story in this series that have been about bears and wolves shifters. Again I like that the storyline is based on characters in their forties. I also like that Maddie and Scorn were polar opposite in their personalities in this story. Overall a enjoyable read.

Scorn is a dragon alpha without a clan to lead so he is hiding out in the woods. Maddie is a woman who has sworn off men but her business is to get the best fantasy books published and finding new and interesting writers. Unfortunately for Maddie, works entirely too much and her best friend has decided that she needs to take a break and sets her up on a daytime hike through the forest but Maddie is determined not to pay attention which lands her in the arms of the dragon alpha along with much more. Drama, suspense, mystery, adventure, and love. Everything for a good book. The storyline is interesting and the characters are fantastic. Dang, who would of thought that a hike in a forest could change your whole life. Talk about an awakening at the age 40!!
Well Maddie is about to find out there's a whole lot more animals or beasts that live in that forest.

Scorn is an appropriate name for a dragon that has a chip on his shoulder. Once an alpha of his clan he's now just a angry exiled dragon. Things change when he save a human woman, and whether its good or bad he feels compelled to be around her.

Magic, mayhem, dragons and witches keep you entertained throughout this story.

Scorn is an alpha dragon who was removed from his position because he could not control his inner dragon. Maddie is a 40 year old who works 60 hours a week. Her friend set her up to take a nature walk out in the woods to help her relax. While there things start to happen including some surprises she didn’t expect. After rescuing Maddie, Scorn finds himself calmer when near her. While total opposites, they are attracted to each other. The characters have great chemistry. This standalone romance is part of the Midlife Shifter series. Can’t wait for the next one.

Wow!!! What a brilliant story. I loved the characters and how they interacted with each other and how Maddie loved to sass Scorn and ride his tail. There was the right amount of chemistry between the two of them, the love scenes were hotter than hot. I loved the drama between the dragons and the witches and how they took back the power and helped the clan and coven to be at peace. A HEA was in there for more than just Scorn and Maddie. You won’t be disappointed with this book. The storyline was strong and there was action from start to finish.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Magic and hot dragons, what more could you ask for.
Scorn lives his life in exile. Ostracised from his clan he drinks and ...... no responsibilities no pressure.
When his path crosses with Maddie, saving her life, their lives become intertwined.
Maggie is headstrong and out of her depth, with no idea of how her world is about to change.
War is coming, and like it or not Maddie and Scorn are right in the middle of the fight.
I loved the characters. The plot detail and sorting cast.
I definitely recommend this book.

Midlife Magic Dragon is book seven in the series Midlife Shifters by author J.L. Wilder. This one is like “wham bam thank you ma’am”, it will keep you on your toes. Not everything is what it seems - obstacles are everywhere. In the end only one thing matters - following your heart. Oh and I mustn’t forget the delicious spicy moments!

Dragons and Witches

This book took off with a bang and never slowed down. Our main characters, Scorn & Maddie, become quickly involved with each other and the plot just keeps building. Scorn is an outcast alpha dragon and Maddie discovers she's a witch! A Witch Coven and Scorn's old clan's alpha, Red are plotting against them. Frrom beginning to end this book never stops.

this is a really over-the-top kind of book. I mean shes this headstrong confident egomaniac city girl and hes the boogyman in the woods. I will admit I was about 25% into the story and really gave it serious thought to quit reading it. the story is good overall but definitely lacks something

I am thoroughly enjoying this Midlife Shifter series. It’s awesome to read about mature independent, strong characters for a change. Scorn and Maddie’s book is a story about a Alpha dragon and a witch who find themselves needing to fight to survive.

This series makes a nice change from reading about young innocents as all the parties involved have lived! I enjoyed this one, the storyline has plenty of action and several unexpected twists. I loved the characters and thought the connection between them was great their chemistry was palpable. I liked the author's writing style and the way the story flowed.

Great story

I loved everything about this book. The characters were great. The backstory for each one was on point. Just enough sad stuff, and recovery in each. Scorn was still brooding, but was quickly back in the game, after seeing Maddie fall. Maddie has a very traumatic awakening to her true self, and the journey they have together is a true 'Page Turner'.

Good story

Very good story, but in need of a proofreader: names are being mixed, punctuation marks and capital letters missing… It was interesting to see Maddie and Scorn’s relationship evolved. The story is filled with adventure and plot twists: nicely done! I wish the next book was about some of the characters that were previously introduced in this one,

Beautiful and exciting

Wonderful adventure with lots of excitement. Witches, wolves, dragons and a hike in the woods sets up this unbelievable romantic tale with a bucket load of very hot sex.
