About the author

Yaongyi began drawing at a young age, and dreamed of becoming a comic creator as a child. She had brief interests in other career paths, calling them "flings" in her interview with LINE Webtoon, but always returned to art. She worked a handful of jobs before eventually creating True Beauty. Her real name is Kim Na-young and she was born on April 24, 1991. Many fans were impressed with her looks following her face reveal one year after 0rue Beauty's debut, stating that "an angel is drawing an angel".

This one is really the second season of the whole story. Life doesn't go as planned sometimes and I'm glad that both protagonists have decided to take a chance on these new opportunities but... I don't know, the story feels a bit off, it also makes you wonder where we are really heading to.

I love this series. It may not have the message I normally love from a book (that you have to put on an act to be liked), I’m hoping that the end of it all (once I get there) will justify the rest of the series.

This volume is when we get the beginning of the relationship between Jugyeong and Seojun. I love them together, even though I may love the love triangle even more, so I’m going to coast through the next couple volumes happy.

Too addicted to this series - I read it in English on the Webtoons app - but now I’m wishing the plot would push on a little more ! The longer Suho leaves it without confessing his feelings, the closer Jugyeong is going to get to Seojun. I loved when Suho and Jugyeong watched a horror movie together - the horror art panel was SO cool in this artist’s style!
I read 8 chapters at a time btw and I think that amounts to the same as the volumes ? 😅 it ended on a good cliffhanger this time anyway.
I think the only person that truly obsesses over Jugyeong without makeup is herself. It doesn’t really matter to the guys!

I didn't like it. This is so rushed and forced that doesn't even seems romance, it's something like a bad excuse of a plot to make the story longer. I hated how Seojun made everything so difficult, I mean he refused to work at something he's good at but he accepted a job that overworked him. To make it worst, this silly and childish attitude seems to foster the same incorrigible attitude that Jugyeong had before she met Suho. It was unbearable to read.

Macie jakieś marzenia, z których musieliście zrezygnować, ale udało się wam do nich wrócić? W 6 i 7 tomie "Treue Beauty", o których dzisiaj mowa [współpraca reklamowa @wydawnictwojaguar] nasza główna trójka bohaterów po latach ma szansę do nich w pewien sposób wrócić. To ten powroty pokierują dalszymi losami naszych bohaterów, więc warto śledzić ich dalsze losy.

Tomy są częściowo zabawne, częściowo na poważnie, a kreska autorki coraz bardziej się rozwija, wszystko jest dopieszczane do granic możliwości, choć jeszcze czasem usta takiego Seojuna robią się jak po zabiegu medycyny estetycznej. Niektóre kadry z kluczowymi scenami są cieniowane bardziej realistycznie niż komiksowo, a dodatkowo dostajemy przegląd makijaży, outfitów, a nawet opis poszczególnych kroków w nakładaniu cieni.

W części sporo czasu zajmuje muzyka - w tym występy i karaoke. Muszę pochwalić niezmiernie decyzję tłumacza/redakcji żeby dawać w przypisach jakie piosenki śpiewają bohaterowie w oryginale - po pierwsze dlatego, że można sobie posłuchać dla lepszego wyobrażenia, a po drugie - nie jestem fanką lubianego powszechnie zabiegu zmieniania piosenek w komiksach na polskie szlagiery, kiedy bohaterowie są np. z Japonii. Naprawdę wielki kciuk w górę ode mnie!

UWAGA, w DALSZEJ CZĘŚCI MOŻLIWE SPOILERY - w końcu to kolejna część, więc bez nich się nie obejdzie!

Seojun i Jugyeong "mają się ku sobie" na tyle, że w końcu zaczynają ze sobą chodzić. Nie jest to łatwy początek relacji, bo oboje ukrywają przed sobą rzeczy - on, że jego rodzina zaczyna zalegać z czynszem i musi zacząć zarabiać w różnych miejscach, ona nadal nie zamierza pokazywać mu swojej twarzy bez makijażu.

Powiem wprost - odetchnęłam z ulgą, że jeszcze przed połową serii powraca Suho - czytelnik nie zdąży się na dłużej przyzwyczaić do braku trójkąta miłosnego i nawet jeśli pozostała dwójka ma swoje perypetie miłosne to czytelnik będzie miał świadomość nie tylko z tyłu głowy, ale również na kartach komiksu istnienie tego bohatera. A że tam każdy jest fajny, a Suho bardzo wpierający wobec wszystkich, to miło go w końcu zobaczyć.

Kolejny tom komiksu który czytam wspólnie z bratanicą.
Wzięłam to na tapet aby zobaczyć czym interesują się teraz 12-sto, 13-sto, 14-sto latki bo to mniej więcej target wiekowy dziewczynek, które sięgają po komiksy TRUE BEAUTY; To szósty tom a siódmy też już za mną ale za granicą jest ich jeszcze dość sporo więc jeszcze sporo przede mną i moją bratanicą.

Według mnie:
● Za drogie jak na ilość treści;
● Lekko głupkowate;
● Życiowe wartości mocno ukryte trzeba się ich doszukiwać - nie każdy młody człowiek je zauważy;
● Takie kocykowe czytadełko;
● Zarówno dla młodszego jak i dorosłego czytelnika
● Dobry podkład do poważnych rozmów z dziećmi/młodzieżą;
● Czym "dalej w las" z tomami tym poważniej dalej np. kwestia współżycia seksualnego - więc target wiekowy według mnie minimum te 13-ście/14-ście lat oczywiście jeśli ten temat był w jakiś sposób poruszany w rozmowie z dziećmi;
● Miękka oprawa, która szybko się niszczy - za taką cenę przy takiej ilości treści według mnie powinna być chociaż twarda oprawa;
● Okładki które, z wyglądu kolokwialnie mówiąc "dupy nie urywają";
● Komiksy zdecydowanie nie dla każdego raczej dla dziewcząt. Warto przeczytać zanim podsuniemy jakiemuś dziecku.

[4.9✨] I have to admit the I’m really invested in this novel. I cannot wait till i watch the kdrama and see how the characters come to life. In this volume we couls see hoy Jungyeong and Seojun become closer and closer in contrast with Suho that 😭 it’s a different case and it breaks my heart, but I really need to keep reading this webtoon asap !!! Took away 0.1 just because of the fact that Suho didn’t have such a roll in this vol.

This series is truly excellent! It makes me feel a whole range of emotions. This book is a sad one, as the harsh reality of life hits Seojun, who has to make some difficult choices. The characters are so endearing, I hope this series continues and lasts for a long time.

Cette série est vraiment excellente ! Elle me fait vivre une gamme d'émotions. Ce tome ci, était légèrement triste, la dur réalité de la vie vient frapper Seo-Jun, qui doit faire des choix difficiles. Les personnages sont tellement attachants, j'aimerais que cette série ce poursuivre et perdure dans le temps.

Loved the premise, but I stopped reading it about six months back.
I only kept reading it that far because the artwork is stunning.

The characters do not develop or mature with time. They get more and more irritating as the story fails to progress.

It is unfair to the other creators that the author makes millions out of this crap.

Okay, I’ll be real — True Beauty is both iconic and exhausting 😭. The art? Gorgeous. Like, every panel could be a wallpaper. The message about beauty standards, insecurity, and self-acceptance starts strong… but the story loses its focus halfway through.

Ju-kyung’s journey from insecure teen to confident woman is relatable, and her early growth actually hits. But once the love triangle starts looping for the 47th time (Suho or Seojun nation still fighting for their lives 💀), it becomes more about drama than depth.

What keeps it afloat is the emotional core — that ache of wanting to be seen for who you really are. It’s real, and it’s what makes True Beauty special despite its flaws.

TL;DR: Beautiful art, strong start, mid pacing, too much triangle, not enough self-love. Still, it’s an undeniable cultural moment in webtoon history.

⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 — glossy on the surface, shaky in the middle, but you’ll still binge it anyway 💋

Rereading these webtoons have me kicking my feet! Coincidentally, I’m actually rewatching this kdrama on Viki right now and they did so well with the casting because everyone, especially Han Seojun, looks just like the characters in the manga!

This part of the story is my favorite because I love how Seojun and Im Jugyeong finally got together. Their relationship was more natural to me compared to her and Lee Suho because I think since her and Seojun had a better friendship than the former.

I do feel bad how Han Seojun constantly felt like he had to work multiple jobs to provide for Im Jugyeong when all she wanted was him. I hated how small he felt in these scenes especially with the rude lady with the trash!

Since this is the last volume my library has, it's the last one I'll be reading. It was cute to see Jugyeong finally get to experience love! Of course there were loads of weird circumstances which made things screwy, but it is good to get a pay-off. Several, actually, since he really cares about her. Still, it's sad to think this is the second male lead, so I bet if I read further I would have to suffer their break up. I couldn't invest emotionally for that reason.

I love True Beauty and was addicted to it when it was on Webtoons. I am so happy and excited that it is being released as volumes for people to collect.

Volume six is when Seojun and Im Jugyeon finally get together. You get to see the struggles they both go through as they navigate their new relationship status and how they both care about each other in their own ways. It’s so cuteeeeeee I love it so much.

True Beauty Vol. 6 by Yaongyi was incredible. Jugyeong and Seojun have started dating. They're both adults now. It's so sweet and romantic, but not without its problemsssss. Which is always so heavy and sad. I do think that some communication between the main characters would fix a lot of the problems, but I also love the drama. Hahaha.
