He fought back from the brink of death, and created a new and profoundly meaningful life from the wreckage of his experience.Meet Jamie Hull, former Special Services soldier, now Ambassador for Help for Heroes and veteran of two marathons, a 3,000-mile bicycle race across America and an expedition up Mount Kilimanjaro. His story will take to you to the furthest extremes of human endurance and endeavour.
Wow, what a book! I saw Jamie being interviewed on the BBC and I knew I had to read this. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain that he must have been in. But this is such an inspirational read. It’s gruesome in many places but totally readable and it makes me want to push myself and pick up a new physical challenge. I also feel a little guilty at constantly moaning about my current tendon injury!
Incredible story of an incredible man and his journey through, before and after the event that sent his life on a completely unexpected trajectory. Some would say it was a miracle that he survived but it becomes clearer as you read the book that Jamie is one remarkable and relentless human being. It’s very well written and raw account of events had me covered in goosebumps most of the time and yet Jamie still manages to convey humour at times! It’s a real hero’s story.
A story of true grit, I wish the disaster had not happened and this book needn't exist but it does and it is an incredible story of a man who faced the worst odds anyone can and came through. It certainly puts things in perspective and serves as a real inspiration to let nothing stop you. well recommend reading.
I recommend this book or you can see him speak about it on youtube. The book goes into more detail and he does well in helping us see his families perspectives too.
