Red Hood & Batman in "Cheer" Part 4 (of 6):

"Jason. Dammit, son. I'm on my way. I won't let you–

You're alive. In the here. In the now. I know this. [...] I don't need to be here again, in the past. I've learned my lessons.

The guilt doesn't help me. It doesn't have a hold on me anymore.

You're alive, Jason. And I intend to keep it that way."

This is a heartbreaking issue, redoing panels right off of A Death In The Family, paralleling Batman going back to save Robin back then, to Batman on his way to save Red Hood now. You can see how the events of Jason's death hurt Bruce deeply, how guilty he felt about that and the pain that came with the loss of his son.

Also, that panel of Batman holding Jason's body to him (the one that is the cover of the aforementioned classic story) is redone in a way that it looks like Batman is kissing his son's forehead; as if he were only asleep and not dead. That's real powerful imagery.

Batwing in "Superman Punch":
This is my first Batwing story ever, I was planing on buying the Batwing Omnibus coming out later in the year but heck I can't say no to a story written by the actor portraying the character!! It was a fun but short issue, with one of my favorite rogues: Riddler. I'm looking forward to reading more about Batwing and the Fox.

Tim Drake in "Sum of Our Parts" Part 1 (of 3):
Nice Chaos design, not recommended on people with trypophobia.

The Batwing story did nothing for me. The Grifter story is getting too drawn out and the Batman/Red Hood story is in danger of doing the same. Tim Drake story was pretty good. The artwork is above average throughout.

nobody care about gifter, the red hood story kinda starting to drag? Tim's story had a couple flaws in the dialogue but the artwork was beautiful and imma wait for it to unfold before I give any real thoughts.

I got this for the Batwing story by Camrus Johnson and I really enjoyed it. I hope he writes more in future because he's a good writer.

I also really liked the start of Sum of Our Parts so I'm thinking of continuing to get this series to see what happens in that story.

Read these for bi tim drake, it is a cute story, but is it worth the cost of having to get the rest of these issues? Debatable. Maybe DC should have given it its own separate run/issue. Just saying.

Cheer (4 of 6): Another great installment in Cheer with lots of character character development, action, and paneling. It's no wonder it was chosen to frontline the first six issues.

Superman Punch: It's fine.

Sum of Our Parts (1 of 3): Really strong start. This has the potential be a great story arc about identity, especially for a character who desperately needs a new one.

The Long Con (4 of 5): Against all odds, I'm excited to see how this ends.
