It’s her fault, really, flaunting herself. She invades my mind, taking over until I must do something to regain it, to be free of her. Things have escalated, but I have it all under control.
Rayne lives in the Arizona desert, free to leave her house whenever she wants, she chooses not to risk death by sweltering sun demons. Instead, she stays safely indoors with a computer and all the words she knows, slapping them together in any which way she chooses in the moment. Often gory, sometimes erotic. She loves the limitless boundaries of writing, and tends to push them toward extreme.

Gavin is the next-door neighbour of Hannah & Steven, and what starts out as a harmless crush on Hannah quickly turns into Gavin’s obsession with her. The obsession controls his every move and turns him into a person he never thought he was, doing things he never thought he’d do.
Written in the author's usial style of brutal sex and violence.
A man drives himself into a psychotic obsession while addictively watching his next door neighbor. His actions are sick and brutal, as he will do anything to satisfy his urges. The story takes a twist when it is narrated from the woman's point of view, and all I can say is, revenge is sweet. A twisted novella by Rayne Havoc that is well worth reading without interruption.
Bahaha. Highlarious!!! Omg!!! This is one of those stories that seem familiar. Boy sees girl. Wants girl. Rapes girl. Kills dude. But then..oh yeah, then it differs from any story you have ever heard. It veers off the path of sanity, mixed with some humor, and BAM!!! You get a non-expected ending. It was wonderful
LOL that ENDING tho. Now that's what I call fisting! Also, I can't help but love a book that is such a textbook example of the difference between a viewpoint character and a protagonist.
This story...... I'm not going to say a lot except that this is one crazy fucked up story and the last half of this story took a turn that I did not see coming. Rayne Havok has a way of make me say what the fuck numerous times in a very short period of time while reading which is not a easy thing to do. She packs a lot of brutality and craziness in a short amount of time. That is one of the main reasons I love her books she just gives you the brutality, violence, and craziness from beginning to end which makes her books hard to put down. I really like everything I've read by her so far and will continue to do so.
Rayne did it again.. Just what I always wanted to be in the mind of a Peeping Tom obsessed with his married neighbour, while probably not as bloody brutal as Rayne's other reads it does make up for it in creep factor.. I guess a life lesson should be learned here.. Always keep your neighbours at "arm's length". 😏
Twisty and sick and the ending Wow. One of of the best I've read in the splatterpunk genre. Reading this it's no surprise why Havok has been voted one of the best writers in the genre.
Young couple Stephen and Hannah have a problem, their neighbour Gavin.
Gavin has a problem - he needs a new woman in his life and he harbours a sick sexual fascination on Hannah. From sociable neighbour to Peeping Tom to sex fantasist to....to who knows where. One thing is for sure, Gavin is hell bent on getting his way and no-one is going to stop him. But are they?
A great little adult story which sees the offences, violations and abominations get more serious as the tale winds its way to its final conclusion. The subject content is brutal and deeply disturbing at times, which may not be to everyones taste, but the plot is well thought out and grabs and challenges the reader to sit up and take notice whilst also simply praying that justice is served for both the victims and the aggressor. A conclusion which, although different, seems appropriately ‘fitting’ and tends to suggest that it really does seem difficult to escape from the ‘Long arm of the Law’.
Just think Havok...and you should know what to expect! - A good, tantalising little read.
Rating: 4.2 brightly glowing neighbourly twin stars of transgression and revenge.
Not my favorite Rayne Havok read. The formatting kept shifting around on the eBook version, which was distracting, and the book randomly began jumping to different perspectives a bit past the halfway point. It just made everything seem disjointed and not uniform enough to follow comfortably. Gavin was written pretty well and I think that they story would have greatly benefitted by just sticking with his twisted agenda, rather than introducing so many other plot points beyond that. Especially with the shorter runtime of this book, the author needed to pick a singular focus and stay with it. Either that or extend the book quite a bit and develop everything further. It wasn't a terrible experience, but just too many obstacles that prevented me from enjoying the sickness of Gavin, which was the highlight.
Absolutely fricking brilliant..Gavin takes peeping Tom to the next level but Hannah has plans for him.. This definitely goes in my favourites pile..Not gonna lie I think I've got a girl crush on Rayne Havok her brand of extreme horror is everything my dark soul needs.
Hopefully you can. It would be terrible for all concerned if this wasn't made up. I mean, yeah. I should title this review, "Rayne Havok wrecks me. Again." Horribly believable insight in the male psyche. (some, males, obviously). I'm rambling. Five stars.
This was a very quick read at under 100 pages. Being dubbed horror genre I was expecting more brutality and graphic scenes but was a good introduction to Rayne Havok. I will definitely read more from her hoping other books provide more punch. This story is about an obsessed neighbour and the lengths he will go to satisfy his fantasies for his married neighbour. 4 stars as while was a great story and easy to read it would have benefitted from more brutal details and instead of a quick shooting/rape having more gruesome and Gordy details as expected from horror.
Another great short from Rayne. I love the revenge twists in all her books, you know its coming but you can never be sure exactly what it'll be!! Brilliant!! 🖤💪
Hannah is an amazing, strong woman to think of a plan like that.
"His delusions have him thinking something that is illogical and irrational, never to be understood by me. He just wants what he wants."
Yup, that pretty much sums up the book. This was very dark, but the ending made up for the horrific situation. This author normally writes happy endings or bittersweet endings? So I took my chance, and i'm happy I did.
I Loved this as I do all of Rayne's books. This is like a seriously messed up version of YOU on Netflix, and way more uncomfortable but the revenge at the end makes it all worth it. Another must read from Rayne!
Holy shit! So I have never read anything like this, it was almost like being inside the mind of a serial killer, or predator. Both characters reminded me of Joe Goldberg and Love Quinn in You. Wow
The attack came from out of nowhere, her rape was brutal, and now her husband is missing.
I love the 'He Said/She Said' writing style that the author uses in this story. You get the raw emotion from both sides, and you can try to figure out in your head who's lying :) I really, REALLY love that Hannah got a little revenge for Steven, too. He may not approve of her methods, though.

This is not for the faint hearted, easily offended or weak stomached. This is gory twisted but a brilliant story. A plot by a deranged twisted being to a revenge that's just as twisted. You have to read it to understand but we'll written with a great set of characters. Definitely one for the extreme horror readers. Definitely recommend to them but if your not into the extreme or are easily offended then pass on by.
This was so good! I love a story with a great, twisty ending!
“I feel a twinge of guilt, but then I remember it was she who drove me to it. If she wasn’t so tantalizing, so fucking obnoxiously present in my mind, this whole thing could have been avoided” ~ Gavin.
Gavin’s infatuation with Hannah takes a twisted turn and his clouded brain never sees her coming back for her sweet, sweet revenge.
It was wild reading about Gavin’s mental illness, his narcissism, his God like, entitled, complex. How he could so easily turn his own sick views of a situation into the fault of an innocent, oblivious person.
Thank you for sharing your creativity with the world Rayne.
I am going straight to h3ll for laughing at the ending. The karma was PERFECT! Definitely on the lighter side of dark for this author, but still enjoyable.
When it comes to good mental shock fuck, Rayne does it with such finesse that you just have to roll with it and well after you read it it sticks with you like a remainder that your neighbors are psychos. Even worse than you are. Oh hi neighbor.
3.5 I was really hoping for more from the second person's point of view. This was my first time reading anything by Rayne Havok, but it definitely wont be my last. I was hooked from the very first page and that ending (even though it felt a tad rushed) was totally unexpected, in a great way. I've been told that this author is really great at twist endings, which are my favorite, so now I have to go read everything they've written.
Guy becomes obsessed with his next door neighbor, but how couldn’t he? She prances around, sometimes topless but always looking provocative doing her gardening being a tease..so this is all her fault. Right?
I like this novella quite a bit! Our MMC has an itch that he knows if he scratches it’ll be one and done..till it’s not. But don’t worry, karmas a b*tch 😏
i loved the ending of this one. not only was it unexpected, it was an excellent showcase of revenge.
the fact that Hannah played her rapist and her husband’s murderer is PRICELESS. and the best part was that Gavin thought he was so ahead of the game. he thought nobody would be able to catch him except he didn’t take into consideration the determination of a traumatized woman.
