Theresa "Tug" Gallant was once an obese culinary student, the poor kid in class. Now she owns Tug's Treats, a bakery in a Minnesota resort town. She often finds herself the center of conflict, as some of the townspeople aren't thrilled that Tug creates cakes for gay weddings. Dallas Prinze is a hometown boy who made it big in Hollywood—and he's Tug's former classmate whom she once saved from drowning. But he thinks his rescuer was his now-business partner, Lily Monroe. But Dallas wants to pursue more than a business arrangement with Tug, which puts her in the crosshairs of a vengeful woman. If Tug isn't careful, she may lose the guy, her business, and her life.
I'm stepping away from Goodreads. I'll leave my profile here, but I won't be around much. My books are listed at https://bit.ly/JLWbooks and of course, there's my Facebook page:
This was an interesting read - my first by this author and I'll be looking for others.
Part romance/part mystery -- Theresa aka "Tug" - is a baker living in a lighthouse in her hometown in MN. A blast from her past shows up - via Hollywood. Dallas is a former movie star turned restauranteur. About the time he shows up, Tug's bakery is the target of a hate crime, and then a dress store owner is found dead on her dock, someone tries to run her down in a boat while she's swimming, and things get crazy from there. I really liked Tug's character -- she's strong, independent, successful and interesting.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.
