Nice Read!
I enjoyed reading about Maci and Dev! No matter how Maxi tried to ignore her feelings for Dev, fate just kept bringing them closer together! I feel that everyone who reads this book will enjoy it. I do recommend it. I wished it was a bit longer, but there is a part 2! I do recommend it to others!

Dev, a Dragon firefighter shifter on an island that is hidden from normal population hears of a fire raging at a resort on the mainland and , as he has sworn to do, he wants to fly there and render assistance.
However, he encounters a serious objection from the council of elders and specifically the elder in charge who forbids him to go to this fire under the threat of being banished from the island. Dev refers to his captain as the behaviour of the elders is contrary to the protocol in place. The chief says that he will speak with the council , being one of the elders, himself. Dev is granted permission to go but must not make contact with anyone on the resort under any circumstances.
Maci is a forceful young woman who was raised by her maternal grandparents after her mother was murdered and her father supposedly abandoned her to their care. She is no stranger to wildfires but, this one is strange in many ways. It is off season, it is persistent and difficult to extinguish and, there is a certain smell that appears to be unnatural.
While fighting the blaze, she is suddenly surrounded by a wall of fire and falls unconscious due to the smoke inhalation and toxic fumes.
Dev literally makes an entrance when he dives from the sky and scoops her up to bring her to the local hospital . While doing so, he realizes that she is his father mate.
This is the first book in a captivating series that literally grips the reader from the start and, given the gift of this amazing author, takes him or her on a virtual adventure filled with love, hate, vengeance, action and twist and turns that make this book a 5 Stars rated one that I highly recommend.

Wow, Alicia Banks has started this new series off to an incredible start with Firefighter Dragon’s Secret Mate. It draws you in from the very beginning and it is hard to put down.
Dev is a dragon shifter that disobeys orders and helps put out a fire that was started on purpose. He is drawn to help put out the fire with out knowing why. When he find Maci in the fire it is clear to him why. Maci is his fated mate.

This is the first book in the Dragon Shifters of the Secret Islands series. I love, love, loved this book. The story pulled me in and I couldn’t put it down. Dev and Maci's story was fun, emotional and I enjoyed every minute of it. Dev is caring and looking to take care of Maci but also knows that Maci is independent and can save herself. Maci has a distorted view on relationships due to her mother’s murder and he fathers abandoning her when she was a baby. Dev is a dragon shifter and not only does he have an uphill battle trying to convince Maci to give him a chance she also doesn’t know that shifters exist and someone evil is out to harm Maci. Excellent shifter romance can’t wait for the next book in the series which I am assuming will most likely be one of Dev's older brothers.

Dev is a dragon that is a firefighter that sees a fire nearby and goes to help. He rescues Maci from near death before he returns to his home island. However once he is back he learns that he is in trouble for saving her and is now banished. He knows that she is his mates and plans to return to court her. What he didn't expect to learn was that her father was a friend of his. Maci tries to keep away from Dev but he just won't keep his distance. Soon they are dating and when trouble comes for her he is there to protect her. Will the other dragons help him? Will Maci pull away from him once she knows what he is?
This is a great story that will hook you in from the first chapter on. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this story to any book lover.

When Dev sees a fire on a nearby coast he does not understand why his Elders get so upset about it, until he disobeys his orders of not contacting any humans while he helps put out the fire, when he sees a woman trapped by it. He rescues the woman, and will do anything to help her, when he realises that she is his mate. Back on his island home he is shocked when the Elders banish him, but understands better when he learns what happened long ago.
He then goes to the resort where his mate lives to make her his, but he is almost too late, as another attempt is made on her life.
A thrilling story, well-written and engaging the reader from start to end..

Holy crap! Way to kick off a series. Deverick Striar is a dragon shifter firefighter. Maci Moynahan is a young woman who's life was ripped from her when she was very young. She lives with her grandparents at their resort. When there is a fire at the resort, Dev rescues Maci and helps put out the fire. He is going against direct orders and is banished from his clan. He moves to the resort to be near Maci, as she is his mate. But something evil is after her. Will Dev be able to save her in time? I know, this review leaves a lot of open ended questions. Hmmm guess you'll have to read the book, if you want the answers that is.

This starts off intense. Action, danger and romance from the start. Just the right amount of heat. I was instantly in love with the main characters and the dynamic between them.
Maci's mother was murdered and her father left. She has relationship issues. Dev doesn't understand why he is so drawn to fight this fire, but he must go. When he discovers she is his mate he's ready to break all the dragons rules to save her!

I absolutely loved reading this book. The main characters Maci and Deverick were great to read their interactions. They were fated mates introduced to each other through awful circumstances and the tension between them was really strong at times. The heat between them would keep you warm on a cold day. After Maci’s life is at risk from fire, she needs Dev to protect her. There is a happily ever after in their future together.

Dragons mate
Dev is fierce even before he shifts. He breaks the rules to be with Macie and protect her. Macie was raised by her grandparents and helps them run their resort. She is smart and independent and can take care of herself in most situations. When she is threatened Dev breaks rules again to keep her safe. I enjoyed the fact that there was no drama in their relationship. After her rant Macie accepted all the crazy things happening in her life. The twist at the end caught me unaware. I'm not into shifter stories but there is something about a dragon .

This is a non-spoiler review of Maci and Dev's story which I thought was an enjoyable read, full of action, intrigue and suspense as well as lots of twists and turns, I wasn't able to put my Kindle down I became so engrossed in it.
I liked both the main characters and loved how protective and persistent Dev was, Maci may have decided she didn't have any desire for a relationship but Dev didn't let that stop him. Maci is somewhat stubborn but his persistence won in the end.

The author has pulled us into the lives of Dev and Maci and does not let go. When he travels to fight a fire, he has no idea why he feels so strongly about helping to put out the flames. However, as soon as he sees Maci, he realizes that she is his mate. While he would like to ease her into the truth, a evil being comes forward trying to kill Maci.

A fabulous start to this new series Firefighter Dragons of the Secret Islands. This is the story of Dev a dragon shifter who disobeys an order and helps put out a fire. He is drawn to this place not sure knowing why, it all comes clear when he sees the human Maci. She isn't just any human she is his fated mate. Their journey to their happily ever after will have its up and downs. I am looking forward to read the next book in this series.

When he rescued her and dropped her off at the hospital he knew 2 things. She was his mate and also human. How she would react to that knowledge was the least of their worries.

The story starts with a very suspicious fire and a weird, mysterious reaction from some firefighters. All is not as it seems and danger is not just around the corner, it’s up front and personal and not backing off....it’s jumping in with both feet! And there’s a plot twist you won’t see coming.
