Becoming a child therapist has always been my dream. When I finally get a job offer in a nearby town, I move to Willow Creek, ready to begin this new chapter.
Meeting Brett Carlisle isn’t something I planned on. He belongs to a wealthy family, a part of society I have no business getting involved with. Helping his adorable daughters heal from their trauma is my main goal, not falling for their single dad.
Living in a small town makes it difficult to avoid him. As we run into each other, spending more time together, I want to console his pain. I want to support him, even though it’s against the rules.
One wrong decision, and I’ll lose everything I’ve worked so hard for. I need the money to support my mom’s healthcare. Being reckless is a mistake, but when his lips touch mine, I want to burn every bridge and allow this feeling between us to consume me.
“She won my girls over a long time ago, and now she’s threatening to win my heart. I can’t let her go without a fight.”
this was a sweet story and end of the series. I’m not usually into widower’s H because sometimes authors don’t handle that very well, but this wasn’t the case. I think the way everyone respected Ella’s memory was beautiful <3
this is single dad romance, who falls for his kids therapist✨ lol. I actually enjoyed this one. Charlie and Chloe are the sweetest girls and Charlie is the best big sister ever 🥺🥺🥺
I wish we had more family scenes though. I kinda missed them. But I loved Brett’s pov. It’s not usual for a single dad romance to have the dad’s pov, so this was a refreshing book. He just needed some guidance, but Brett was so so kind and good.
I’m definitely reading more book from this author. She makes stories feel real and I love that💗
I was looking forward to this book, and the author did not disappoint. The story revolves around a single dad of two precious girls who is still searching for his way after losing his wife. Brett is not having the best time adjusting to his new normal and adding the fire to the winery restaurant, more stress. He is in over his head, and he needs help for his family.
Magnolia is new to town and a therapist who specializes in children. She has the biggest heart and helps Brett with his girls. Can she heal this family? Magnolia has a beautiful connection with Brett’s girls. Will he connect with her as well?
My emotions run the gambit in this book, but worth it. A beautiful ending to this series of siblings. What small town will this author create next for us?
Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Small Town King (Carlisle Cellars #3) Written by: Fabiola Francisco
Brett Carlisle might come from a family that is well respected in Willow Creek but these last few years haven’t been the easiest for him or his two daughters. Having lost his wife Ella just two short years ago and now the fire at the vineyards restaurant, life seems to be piling on a lot of bad things. Thank goodness Charlie and Chloe are physically ok, it’s the nightmares and the memories of the fire that has Brett taking his girls for counseling.
Magnolia McBride has just moved to Willow Creek to start her new job as a child therapist. She’s new, eager to help and specialist who works with children dealing with trauma. Brett might have issues at the beginning, but those are overcome when he sees how his girls are making progress. How they are beginning to laugh again and become the happy girls they had been.
As Magnolia becomes more attached to the girls, she is also becoming attached to her new town of Willow Creek; her biggest problem is it is a small town and everyone knows each other and she isn’t suppose to make friends with the families she is treating. I felt really badly for Magnolia because how do you make friends in a new place if you’re limited in who you can befriend.
Author Fabiola Francisco, in Small Town King gave readers a story that could easily happen to anyone. A man who works to much to keep from working through his grief, adding to that the fire fresh in everyone’s mind, you feel for him. With Magnolia giving him tips about how to work with the girls at home and a few other life changes he makes, it’s easy to see how this story could play out.
This is one of the most well written single father stories I have read. It is easy for readers to get attached to all the characters in this book. It was what I call an easy read. Enjoyable, witty moments, family support for all the characters and it leaves readers feeling that they have personally been a part of this story. Although I came in on book three of the series, I felt like I had known everyone from the beginning. That is a sign of a good author; she hooks you and makes you feel welcome even if you’re new to a series.
Small Town King is book 3 of Fabiola Francisco’s Carlisle Cellars series and is the book I was most looking forward to reading.
Why you might ask?
For the simple reason that I love a good single parent romance and even more so when that single parent is a widower. There is something extra special about these stories because the journey to love, finding and accepting it, after such a loss, leaves me filled with hope.
Small Town King did not disappoint. It made me feel all the feels and it kept me glued to my kindle as the slow burn romance between Brett and Magnolia kept me on edge. They are such beautiful people and together, together they were magic. From their fiery beginnings to their passionate union, I was rooting for them. They both truly deserved to find love and happiness and when they overcame everything, it made my book loving heart happy. One of my favorite parts of the book were Charlie and Chloe, Brett’s little girls, they added so much to the story and made me smile more times than I can count.
Small Town King gets the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy.
This is the first hook I have read by this author but it certainly won’t be the last. If you love small town/single dad romances you should certainly have Brett and Magnolia’s story on your radar. Small Town King is a beautifully written, emotional yet entertaining read that can certainly be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone, although I’m sure like me if this is your first read in this series you will be left wanting more and looking forward to playing catch up in the Carlisle Cellars Series. Brett and Magnolia are very special characters as individuals but when they come together they become wonderful people you would love to call friends. A couple who have had their fair share of heartache really deserve to find love and happiness, so do they find their forever love together….. This is a hook with all the feels, it will make you smile and it will make you cry, it’s a story about love, family and trust but what took this hook to another level was the addition of Brett’s daughters, Charlie and Chloe who at times stole the show. Wonderful, entertaining read.
Fabiola weaves a great small town romance, and this was no exception. It's book 3 in the Carlisle Cellars series. I was really looking forward to Brett's story and this did not disappoint!
Brett is a single dad struggle to raise two daughters alone, and now they've been struck by trauma which only makes things more difficult.
Magnolia is a new in town child therapist. She has a huge love of helping people, especially kids, and is working to raise money to help out with her family and her mother's health issues.
Sparks fly when they meet! But acting on those feelings would be crossing the line. Can they toe the line or will they leap? You'll have to read to find out, obviously!
I adore the entire Carlisle family and love that these series books intermingle the mains from the prior stories as well. Another fab book from Fabiola!
The final book in the Carlie Cellars series did not fail to give us the love and understanding that we craved from Brett's backstory. I enjoyed that Magnolia was determined to complete her job first before finding romance. However, I did find some of her reasons to be distracting from the storyline she had with Brett. The entire family played a part in the storyline without overpowering the healing message of the story.
Overall, I loved this series from Fabiola and hope that she continues giving us small-town romances for a long time.

I fell instantly for the characters of this book. I adore single parent books, more so when it’s the hero that is the parent. His girls melted my heart and definitely took this book to a whole new level of cute. Brett and Magnolia held my attention captive as I devoured their slow burn romance. This series is fab and each book just topped the other. This is definitely my fave of the Carlisle Cellars Series.
This was an enjoyable read. The character Magnolia kinda reminded me of myself with moving to a new town for a job since I recently did that this year and met some just how she met Brett. I adored Brett and his daughters after reading the last book in this series and this author did it justice.
This was the first book I’ve read from the Carlisle Cellars Series and had no problem getting into the story. I found it not only a wonderful read story but became absolutely attached with the folks of Willow Creek. STK is a low angst read with lots of emotion, feelings, love, loss and new beginnings. And I absolutely loved the Ms. Magnolia and her connection to Charlie and Chloe. Brett Carlisle was half bad himself, saying that with adulation!! lolol
Brett Carlisle had become a widower a couple of years earlier, plus he was the oldest of the Carlisle siblings. His wife had passed away in an auto accident, leaving him the single dad of two little girls, Charlie & Chloe. While in the process of working into his dad’s shoes of CEO running the winery, there was a fire at the winery that involved both of his daughters. Both girls had been rescued from the burning building, yet Chloe was affected by the smoke requiring a hospitalization. Needless to say, the trauma of being in the burning building left them both with PTSD.
This is where Ms. Magnolia enters their lives. Accepting a job in Willow Creek was just what Ms. Magnolia had dreamed of … working with children as well as it offered her a salary that allowed her to help her parents financially. Newly hired and replacing the girls current therapist who was moving away Ms. Magnolia was eager to get started with them. While Charlie and Chloe really seemed to like Ms. Magnolia her and Brett didn’t get off to such a great start. He took offense at her telling him he needed to spend more time with his daughters, especially taking weekends off with them.
Being the workaholic that he was this was going to be quiet the assignment. Yet, heeding the advice from the therapist, Brett took time off with the girls and began to discovering that just maybe Ms. Magnolia was onto something. But would he be able to commit to this. Not only that but the girls really loved having their dad around more. There was nothing sweeter to see then Brett taking care of his daughters and the love you felt him show for them … ovary overload!! And realizing that Ms. Magnolia was steering them in the right direction. I totally LOVED Brett in his dad role!!
The really hard part of living in a small town is that everyone knows everyone. And as Ms. Magnolia started making friendships with members of the Carlisle family, she was beginning to walk a fine line. The part where you have to draw professional lines between professional and personal relationships. But then things begin to get really murky when Brett and Ms. Magnolia begin to become the talk of the town. You see where this is going… Ms. Magnolia lost her job because of her choices.
But at the same time this leave the two of them open to explore whatever it is between them. These two are so cute together, you just want it to be perfect for them too. And then then girls?
If you are looking for a really feel good read Small Town King, is it!! Definitely a 1 click!!
Brett is doing the best that he can since the love of his life and mother of his children passed away two years ago. He’s getting ready to take over the running of the Carlisle Cellars Winery from his father while trying to balance caring for his two little girls who have been through both the loss of their mother and the traumatic fire that burned down a portion of the winery. He’s struggling with everything but doesn’t do well at accepting help, even when he knows he needs it.
When Magnolia lands her dream job as a children’s therapist in Willow Creek, she’s ready to take on the challenge. She needs the money teh job will bring to help her parents cover the cost of their medical bills. What she wasn’t expecting was Brett and the challenge of being a therapist in a very small town actually meant when it came to making friends and having a social life. She didn’t mean to feel an attraction to the handsome single father, but fate had other plans.
I’ll be honest, I’ve been waiting for Brett’s story from book one when I fell in love with his adorable little girls and Brett as the somewhat lost and brooding widower. And, Magnolia was the perfect match for this family!
Small Town King was a real emotional journey for all of the characters as Brett is trying to come to terms with feeling attraction for a woman that isn’t his wife, his girl’s are struggling with overcoming the fire they were in and Magnolia is learning to live in a new place, balance a career and help with her mom’s medical bills all while falling for her clients’ father.
Charlie and Chloe are the sweetest and play such an integral role in this story (actually the entire series) and I loved watching them interact with not only their father and Magnolia, but with the other Carlisle’s as well - especially Madison and Miles! I loved watching them try to one up the other to take on the role of favorite Aunt or Uncle.
I loved watching Brett trying to take the entire world on his shoulders and learning to step back and take a breath and learn to live again rather than just making it through the day. And Magnolia was made to help others and it’s beautiful to watch her help Chloe, Charlie and Brett all heal while she also opens herself up to possibilities she wasn’t expecting.
Small town King is a whirlwind, but a really beautiful story about love and loss and overcoming things you didn’t think you could move on from. 5 stars!
Losing the love of his life, Brett has to be single parent to his two little girls. Trying to keep his wife’s memory alive, Brett forgets to allow himself to live. Too busy working, Brett realizes that in order for his girls to move on, he needs to be with them more. More time in town, means more chances to see Magnolia.
“In reality, nothing’s been okay in a long time. And each day, it feels like it gets worse instead of better.”
Magnolia is an amazingly strong woman, willing to sacrifice her life to help out her parents. Taking a new job in a new town is scary, but Magnolia is determined to make a life in Willow Creek. Having Brett’s girls as clients makes things tough, especially when Brett and Magnolia start to see each other in a different light.
“She’s become important to me—more than simply important. I never saw myself with another woman, never even wanted to imagine what that’d be like. I was closed off and shut everything off.
While reading the Carlisle Cellars Series, I was always been intrigued by Brett. His brooding attitude and closed-off ways have made Brett a mystery. In Small Town King, we get to see Brett, listen to his story, and learn about all the pain he has gone through. Watching Brett open up with the help of Magnolia will make your heart skip a beat. Watching Magnolia live her life will have your wanting to high five her. With the help of the Carlisle siblings, and some old and new friends, Small Town King is the perfect read! (and my favourite in the series!! Be sure to read them all!)
“Life is full of surprises, and sometimes we resist them for fear of change and the unknown, but I guarantee that if you step out of your comfort zone, take a leap of faith, you’ll land where you’re meant to be.”
Beautifully and emotionally perfection, this author knows how to write with all feelings bleeding from the pages to make the reader become part of the story. Brett Carlisle has suffered so much in recent years still grieving the death of his wife and recently his daughters were caught in a fire at the families winery. Even though everyone miraculously survived each of them are still hurting. The girls still have nightmares, they don’t know how to deal with the trauma, and poor Brett feels as if he is failing them. He is amazing dad that would do anything for his daughters, but he is slowly breaking down and pretending he has it all under control. The pain and regret he has can be felt coming off the pages because he was such an amazing father, yet felt his workaholic tendencies were taking time away from his girls and he carried so much guilt on himself. When Magnolia comes into their lives as the children’s therapist she actually hits Brett with some truth at first he doesn’t like it but then his guilt resurfaces and he can’t help but think she’s right. Magnolia can’t lost her job and the attraction with Brett makes things very difficult for her but she knows it’s a line that she cannot cross. Will their attraction but too much to fight or can they keep things professional for the sake of her career and the girls? Can Brett try to move forward while not forgetting the past but learning how to live his life or is he determined to carry his guilt always? I loved these wonderful characters, the family bond, and everything about Willow Creek that I hate to see it end but look forward to what is to come next.
Small Town King ( Carlisle Cellars #3) by Fabiola Francisco is the final book in the series and is the story about Brett, the eldest brother of the Carlisle clan. He is stiff, straight laced single father of Charlie and Chloe and workaholic. Brett was already struggling with the love of his girls and with the responsibility of taking over the winery from his father. Now he has to deal with traumatic effects the winery fire had on the girls especially Chloe. Deciding to send them to a therapist he didn't bargin on the girl's new therapist Ms. Magnolia. She is very pretty; the first woman who has stirred any feelings in him since his wife died and is doing a killer job with the girls. Ms. Magnolia is new to the town. She loves her job and is excited she is now able to help her parents financially. However being in such a small town she didn't realize the one of the friends she makes is June. With a strict policy of fraternization between therapist and client's family she is worried. The more interactions she is having with Brett and his family, Magnolia is playing with fire. Brett who hasn't had a visceral feeling for a woman since his wife is not willing to let her go. I just truly loved everything about this story. I am so glad a friend turned me on to this author. The more books I read by this author the more I like her. The small town stories where everyone knows each other and there is a sense of community is heartwarming. Especially in these days and time it is just refreshing to read a old fashion love story. Thanks. 4 stars for me.

Small Town King is book three of the Carlisle Cellars Series. This is a small town, forebidden, second chance at love romance that focuses on Brett Carlisle and Magnolia. The plot was well thought out, realistic, and a roller coaster of emotions.
Brett holds the weight of the world on his shoulders. He's never really allowed himself to grieve one of the biggest losses he's ever faced. He's under a lot of stress and pressure with work but also being a single father. He has a lot of regrets and tends to go down a rabbit hole of negativity. He's too good at locking down his emotions. Luckily he has a family, friends, and town that care a great deal about him and provide him much needed support and love.
Magnolia is young, ambitious, selfless, kind, and caring. She seems naturally maternal so it makes sense her career revolves around children. She never expected to meet Brett and his girls and fall so in love with them. She's having a hard time finding the balance of keeping things professional. She has a lot riding on this job for her and her family. Mags and Brett have that in common, thinking that they need to take on everyone's burdens. They both need to learn to live for themselves, as selfish as that may sound.
This book definitely had all the feels, Fabiola is always good at pulling out all the stops. It had a beautiful ending with the perfect happily ever after.
Small Town King is about another chance at love. Brett became a widow at the age of 29 with two young children. On top of that a near death experience with his children after that pushes him closer to the edge. Brett can be described as a workaholic, he likes things to go as planned especially with the family vineyard. But seeing that his daughters aren’t coping well after the experience starts to change things for him. Magnolia needs this job to help take care of her mother’s medical bills. Moving a few hours away is a sacrifice she’s willing a make to ensure that she can offer financial support. Meeting new people in a small town is a given but to met the family of your client makes it more difficult. When Magnolia finds herself attracted to her client’s father, she walking down a very fine line. Will Brett let work go for his children’s happiness or will he cling on to what he know? Can Magnolia separate personal from work or will she lose the chance to help her family?
While the book was enjoyable but of the the three siblings, I would say this was my least favorite. I just didn’t connect with Magnolia as much as did with the others. And with Brett, I don’t know if I had higher expectations but I just felt like there could have been more to him. I’ll still continue to read more from this author. I am looking forward to other books by Fabiola.
I just finished Small Town King and I absolutely adored this book. This story takes us back to Willow Creek to finally get the oldest Carlisle siblings book. We know Brett is a widower trying to raise two little girls while moving into the CEO role at the winery but we start off with a near tragic event that causes him to rethink how he’s acting as a father. He will do anything for his kids….enter Magnolia who is his daughters new therapist. There is an attraction but so many things are keeping them apart. They both need to make some decisions as to what’s the most important thing and if both are willing to risk their hearts.
This is just a really emotional sweet story. Brett was such a good dad and doing everything for his kids. I swear I teared up a few times when he was questioning whether he was doing his best (haven’t we all been there as parents?). I loved watching his heart heal and how he opened up to Magnolia. Magnolia was pure sunshine…so perfect in every way.
This has some steam to it too but honestly, it’s just one of those super perfect low angst real-life stories that hit you in the heart. I would highly recommend!!!!
An incredible slow burn with all the feelings. Brett, Magnolia, Charlie, and Chole will captivate your hearts. I found that I connected to these characters and their story more than the previous two books. Seriously I loved the other books, but this one just hit me hard. Brett and Magnolia's story will pull at your heartstrings. You'll find yourself with a grin from ear to ear.
Both Brett and Magnolia have a lot on their shoulders, they are both willing to do whatever they can to make things workout even if it means risking their own happiness. Brett is a single dad, raising two daughters after his wife passed away. He is also in the process of taking over his father's winery, but now has to help his daughters emotionally and mentally recover from a tragic accident. As their therapist, Magnolia helps him realize that all his daughters really need is their dad. Magnolia recently moved to Willow Creek for a new job to help her parents pay for hospital visits and medication that her mother needs. But since meeting Charlie, Chloe, and Brett she finds it hard to push herself away from them and putting her career as a Child Therapist in jeopardy.
The series continues with another emotional read filled with heartbreak and the way all involved recovered from it.
And if you're not a huge fan of slow burn this is your warring that this book is not for you! (# youvebeenwarned)
To say Brett was dealt with a bad hand is such an understatement. Losing his wife and then almost losing his girls would drive anyone to lose his cool so to speak. He was doing all he could to help his daughters recover but it wasn't until Magnolia stepped into their lives that he realized that maybe just maybe it was time for him to heal as well. She was the glue that held them together, with her patience and kindness she was able to not only help both girls but also help her and Brett to see that what they feel is worth taking a shot and see where it would lead them. And you guess it - it leads them to a HEA that will leave you with the biggest smile on your face with a feeling all is right in the world.

This heartwarming story is the third book in the Carlisle Cellars series, but it can be read as a srandalone. The characters reoccur in each book and you can see more of their lives if you have read the other books, but each book is amazing in its own right!
Brett is the oldest of the Carlisle siblings and he has a lot on his plate, raising his two young daughters on his own and working all the time at their family winery and restaurant. When a tragedy occurs, he finds he needs help and Magnolia McBride, new in town, is the lifesaver his little family needs.
The daughters, Charlie and Chloe, steal the show quite often in this book, but the moments between Brett and Magnolia are quite poignant, too. There is a lot of emotional depth to this book, in terms of grieving and dealing with PTSD, especially in children. Fabiola has done a great job with these delicate subjects. Wish I could give more than just 5 stars!
Oh boy do I love This family! I was Really looking forward to Brett’s story, and I loved Every page! Brett is a father of 2 adorable girls and is ready to move on after grieving the lost of his wife. When a fire at his family’s wine business emotionally affects his daughters they start therapy. The therapist Magnolia is new to town and falls for not only the girls but their father. Magnolia loves her family and struggles to find a balance emotionally and financially when helping her parents deal with her mothers health. I have really enjoyed this series. Each book is a well written fast paced read that is both entertaining and take us on an emotional journey. This was a great quick read. I love the connection Magnolia has with Brett’s daughters. I just love how supportive and loving this family is. They also have great laugh out loud banter when you really need it! I look Forward to reading more books by this author.
I’ve been waiting for Bretts book! And or did NOT disappoint. Not even a little!
Brett decides to seek a therapist to help the girls heal from their trauma. Magnolia is a new therapist in town, and she is good with them. As she gets used to Willow Creek, the small town puts her and Brett is similar places frequently. She is attached to Charlie and Chloe, and maybe even Brett…. But that’s not allowed. But how do you become involved in small town life without interacting with the families of the children you treat? This book is a true small town, everyone knows everyone, story that will draw you in. Willow Creek, like Everton, is a place anyone would love to live in.
This book is well-written and tells a story that is, or could be, very real! Fabiola Francisco does that! I feel like her characters could walk out of the book and be the same. From one of my favorite writers comes a favorite book.
You need to read this series! It is, hands down, a best read for me.
This is such a great series, every time I read it, I love being back in Willow Creek. Brett is holding a ton of weight of his shoulder, he has lost his wife and now a single father of two wonderful daughters Chloe and Charlie whom he would do anything for.(there were moments that he was questioning if he was being a good dad just broke my heart because he is doing a fantastic job.) he’s getting ready to take over the family winery while dealing with his wife’s passing he is definitely struggling well, until Magnolia moves into town, she is starting as a child therapist that specializes in trauma, she loves helping kids and helping raise money to help her mom with health issues. Magnolia and Brett have a great connection the moment they meet, but how long will they make it last before they can’t keep it professional any longer? Will Mag’s risk her job? This was a beautiful emotional heartbreaking read that I will be reading again because I just love this author’s writing.
Magnolia is beautiful, smart and works to make our children better in handling traumatic experiences that life throws them. She is doing this with Chloe and Charlie who were in a fire at their family winery. Brett has suffered loss with the sudden passing of his wife, and he is not ready to lose his girls, physically or emotionally. Their new therapist, Magnolia will stir up feelings that Brett did not think he would ever feel again.
Brett is broody and protective but when he lets Magnolia in, he is charming and fun. I love how he accepts Magnolia’s advice and does what is necessary to help his girls, but my favorite part is how he will do anything to help Magnolia. I adored this family and loved seeing more from the characters we have met before. Small Town King can be read as a standalone, but I encourage you to read the entire series as this author is the Queen of small-town writing.
Small Town King by Fabiola Francisco is the 3rd book of the Carlisle Cellars Series. OMG! Well when I first started this series I instantly fell in love with all Carlisle siblings... but I KNEW there'd be a lot more to fall in love with Brett! Awwwww! This WONDERFUL LOVE STORY is about Brett (the oldest Carlisle brother) and Magnolia! Brett is a gorgeous and caring single dad of 2 cute little girls and after an accident both girls need therapy. Good that there's Magnolia, who helps them a lot! And next to helping his girls, Magnolia kinda can't admit her attraction Brett. Problem here? It's against the rules as a therapist. You really have to be professional. What they'll do? Ha! You've to find out for yourself! I won't reveal much more! You'll looooove this book! I DEFINITELY LOVED IT SO DAMN MUCH! I felt sooo much with Brett! He went through A LOT! And Magnolia has to deal with a lot of stuff too... Awwwww! It's no surprise that this book by Fabiola Francisco is another MASTERPIECE! The story of Magnolia and Brett is so full of love and emotions! Ugh! I cried a few times because there were sad moments, but also really cute moments too! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! 😍
The below book(s) are part of this series if you are interested in reading those books(s) first Not So Charming (Carlisle Cellars, 1) Homecoming Queen (Carlisle Cellars, 2)
This is Magnolia and Brett's story. Brett is dealing with a lot in his personal life. He lost his wife and now with a fire he is struggling. He knows his girls are also struggling. So he takes time to see child therapist Magnolia. Seeing Magnolia is not only is she helping his girls but also him. The pull is there but they both have baggage from the past. Can they really build a future together? She struggles with falling for him when her job might be on the line. She needs that job to take care of her mother. Can she risk it all for love?
Having read Not So Charming and Homecoming Queen I couldn't wait to dive into this third installment! I picked it up as soon as i could and got back into the Carlisle Cellars world so quickly. It grabbed my attention right from the prologue. I really enjoyed this third book!
I've been wanting Brett's story from the moment he was introduced and I'm so glad that we got it! Brett and Magnolia's journey had me feeling so much from beginning to end! I really liked getting to dig deeper with these two and i appreciated the realness shown throughout their story. I so enjoyed what Charlie and Chloe brought to the story as well!
With Small Town King, Ms.Francisco has created a great read that will get into your heart and make you feel so much! If you haven't checked out the Carlisle Cellars books you so need to!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from the author*
Welcome to Willow Creek a small town where everyone knows each other. Especially the towns famous family the Carlisle. They run a winery in town. This is Brett and his daughter's Chole and Charlie's story of healing. Brett's daughters are suffering from PTS after a fire at the winery. They are going to therapy when their therapist has to move away. They meet the new therapist named Magonlina . She is beautiful smart and wants to help children. Everyone really likes her including Brett, a little to much. The back and forth leads to small town gossip. Leading Magonlina and Brett into other directions so their love can begin. Magnolia taught Brett to live his life . Stop hiding behind work and stressful situations and love his family. Brett taught Magonlina how to ask for help from others. Taking a leap of faith to love life again for everyone.
I wondered how Brett was going to fall and with who. The story was one I was waiting for since the end of book 1. The brokenness of his girls and the regret and turmoil he felt as a father was sure to break my heart. It was like his life couldn't catch a break.
It was wonderful to see and experience the healing of not on Brett but Charlie and Chloe. That was what my momma bear heart was wanting to read. The way Magnolia listened to not only their wants but used other techniques to help build the confidence of shattered souls. Add in Miles as uncle of the year to share his struggles when they needed it most. Yes, this book was it. A perfect ending to three siblings that gave my blood pressure a rising scare.
I've really been looking forward to this story and I can honestly say Fabiola Francisco did not disappoint.
After losing his wife Brett is now a single dad to two very adorable little girls, Charlie and Chloe. After been caught up in a fire at their family's winery both girls are having a difficult time so Brett arranges for them to meet with a councillor. Magnolia is the new children's councillor in town and she's doing her best to help Charlie and Chloe overcome everything they are going through but soon lines start to become blurred and both Magnolia and Brett start to have feelings for each other. Will Brett open up his heart again and will Magnolia risk her job to see if this could be true love.
A wonderfully written story that I can highly recommend.
