'FIFTH A FURY' is the last and final, dark romance book in Pepper Winter's 'Goddess Isles' series. It picks up where the fourth book left off. Spoken in Dual Perspectives.

Because of how the pervious book ended this review is going to be on the short side of things because how the previous book left off you need to go into this one BLIND!!

This series became one of my favourites, what started off as dark and gritty, turned into something beautiful and captivating, it's beyond unique and a series which I highly recommend.

I tiptoed into this, part of me didn't want to read it, knowing that the end would approach quicker if I did, but also knowing that I couldn't put off the inevitable any longer, so with bated breath I went into this, knowing I would get my heart ripped to shreds, knowing that the author would throw everything she could at me to wrap up the last book within this series!! Knowing that this series would be a hard series to top.

That time is coming to get your binge on ladies because this series is complete!! And what a series it is, it's dark and gritty, it's mayhem and murder, it's lies and deceit, and it's love taking shape in its truest form. The author took us on yet another unique, all consuming journey, and I for one can't wait to see what she's got up her sleeve next!!

Pepper Winters always goes above and beyond to give us something unique and that's a true testament to this series, it's like nothing I've read before, you can't compare it to anything.

'Fifth a Fury' is the fifth and final book in Eleanor Grace and Sullivan Sinclair's journey - and it was a hell of a ride!!! 💥

📚 “𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐉𝐢𝐧𝐱? 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐲 𝐦𝐞, 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞?” 📚

This book checked all of my boxes - I loved that it was anything but ordinary and expected - which made it almost impossible to put down! 👑🌺
The story was an emotional roller coaster - with turns and twists, hot AF moments and parts that literally almost made my heart stop beating!!! 💔
There were some cliches, but this is Pepper Winters - so she can do whatever she damn want to... LOL 😂😂😂

📚 "𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐦𝐞, 𝐈 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐢𝐭. 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐦𝐞, 𝐢𝐭 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐲 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐥. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧’𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞." 📚

The whole time I read, I was sitting on the edge of the seat with shaking knees, yelling at my kindle and the author --- but then, I was disappointed... not because I didn’t like it, but because it ENDED! 😭🌺
Man, I'm so jealous of everyone picking this series for the first time...

In case I wasn't clear, this is one of the BEST series I've read this year - and I recommend it to all the dark romance lovers out there! Just make sure you have clean panties when you start reading... 🔥

And now I can't wait for what's coming next... I'm sure it's going to be EPIC! I'm so freaking exited!!!! 🎉😍👑

Awesome series ending with plenty going on!

I don’t know about everyone else, but sometimes when I get to the last book of a series about a couple and what happens is that the beginning consists of wrapping up whatever cliffhanger ended the last book, and then there is three quarters of a book that is somewhat of a sappy happily ever after. I end up getting sort of bored and skimming the rest of the book despite loving the HEA.

That did NOT happen in this book even though it was the fifth book in a series about two people in a relationship. That speaks to how well Pepper Winters can write romance. This book had a lot going on with both Sully and Jinx. I really enjoyed the strife, the setting and everything that happened.

This book had more of my two favorite parrots, Pika and Skittles. The island setting and their antics truly added to every scene they were in and make me really want to live in the tropics and have some parrots. Actually this entire book had me wanting to move to the Goddess Isles and live there forever. What a great getaway this series was! I just loved every minute.

I call this a series ending even though two more books are planned because it truly was. Pepper Winters describes at the end of the book that the two following novellas are separate even though technically a part of this series. They also contain people from some of her previous series but you don’t have to read those in order to enjoy these two novellas. I can’t wait to read more and I plan to read the other series as well (at some point).

This book includes Tess and Q in a few scenes. They are from the Monsters in the Dark series (I will probably re-read that again as well at some point). But I remembered it enough to be happy that they were included especially since Eleanor/Jinx met Tess for a bit when they were both abducted by the same sex traffickers, and both of them fought against being stolen in their own ways. So that was a nice addition to this story.

This was another book where the relationship between Sully and Eleanor was super steamy. I give this book 5 flames out of 5 (🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥) because it was so hot. I don’t want to give anything else away, so I will wrap up with saying that if you like captive romance series, this is one you have to read. It really was great.

This was the fifth and final book in the Goddess Isles series, and while I did enjoy it...I was also disappointed to some degree. My main complaint was the fact that nothing very positive went on until the 60 % and higher part of the story. I would have liked to have a lot more time devoted to some wonderful things happening to Sully and Eleanor. Considering everything they had gone through during most of the series...it would have been nicer to have a lot more time devoted to happiness in the conclusion.

With all of that being said...I will say that the series as a whole kept my attention, and had me extremely emotionally involved. I felt like I was a part of the island, and Eleanor and Sully's life. Pepper Winter has the ability to create a whole new world between the pages, and I just dive right in and reside their with all of the characters. The two birds in this series won my heart..they really did. I can honestly say that I will miss them, they became alive to me as I was reading the story! Having been a bird owner myself, I was able to relate to the bond that Sully, Eleanor, Pika, and Skittles shared. This series will always hold a piece of my heart just because of those birds!!

I highly recommend this series. It is on the dark side; but I will also say that it was way more than I expected. I figured it would be the same old kind of kidnapping/ sex slave story...but it was something that ended up very unique once the whole story began to unfold. It is unlike anything readers have ever read before...nowadays I feel that is an added plus to any book that we read. There are so many that become the same old...so when I find something as unique as this one...then it is a treasure for sure!

I can't wait for more of Pepper Winter's stories! She is a brilliant author, and I love being transported into a new world where I can escape for a little while!

10 Epic and Unforgettable stars! What an incredible end to a phenomenal series. The scenes are so vivid you forget you’re reading a story. This series is brilliant. Everything happens for a reason and nothing is stronger than Sullivan Sinclair and his love for Eleanor. I couldn’t get enough of this series. By far one of my favorites and very unforgettable.

Holy wow what a finish!! One of the things I love about Pepper's writing is that she can make me love a monster, though Sullivan isn't one of her depraved ones. This is the final book in this series and man it pulled at my heart strings. Eleanor was so dang strong and held it all together to bring her strong, protective, alpha, loving, sexy, crazy man back. Pika and Skittles oh how I love these two!! Let me just say if you haven't read a dark/crazy series in a while this one is the one, heck even if you have read one you still need to pick this series up! Pepper Winters thank you for writing and taking me on this journey with you. Kiki thank you for sending me the ARCS!!!

Fourth a Lie ➤ https://bit.ly/37OFgUC

Picking up right where the last book left off, Fifth a Fury started things off with a twisted and deliciously questionable bang. How on Earth were Sully and Eleanor supposed to get their happy ending when someone so evil was so desperate to keep them apart? Well, if you know anything about Sully, you know to never say die. This man doesn't give up. He lets ever slight, ever slur, ever piece of disrespect and dishonor fuel his fury. A broken body can't slow him down. Nothing and no one was going to keep him away from Eleanor. Not even certain death.

As much as Sully saw himself as a monster, it was Drake who showed us what true evil looked like.

Drake wasn’t predictable because he operated outside the usual parameters of human psyche. He had no switch inside to prevent him from doing terrible things, no empathy to stop him from hurting others, and no rationale to reason with.

Screw Drake.

Sully and Eleanor. Cal and Jess. Even Pika and Skittles won my heart. The Goddess Isles read like a saga that explored the journey of finding a deep and abiding love in the most unconventional ways. From Eleanor's resilience and fortitude to Sully's black-and-white view and his eventual redemption to the glorious landscape that set the stage for this series, I fell helplessly in love.

I was nothing. But I wanted everything. I deserved nothing. But I needed something... Her.

I was in love with Sully's ideals. In love with his brutality in defence of those who couldn't fight. In love with his devotion to Eleanor and his willingness to be vulnerable to her and to see her as more than worthy. In love with Eleanor's brave attempts at survival, peace, and then the boundless love she found in the midst of such depravity. In love with the side characters, the cameos, the imagery, the hopes, the dreams, the everything.

So yeah, saying I absolutely adored this series would be accurate. It's dark and dangerous featuring a scrumptious anti-hero and his young, naive lover. It's at times sweet and charming and others abrasive and crude. It's painful and full of angst and, as a whole, worthy of all the stars. I can't recommend it enough!

WARNING: Not only I'm being honest here and spoiling things, but also saying some truths that must be read and if you have another opinion, totally opposite to mine, it's fine but don't come at me for thinking this.

SHORT REVIEW OF FIFTH A FURY.

2.5 stars.

Honestly, I skipped the whole drama here and ended up reading since everything was kinda back to normal except for Sully.
I think that this series could have been just three books. I mean, i know this series is all about the sex and the plot was around it too but there are erotic books and there are erotic books. In this case, this series is full of unnecessary sex. And this is coming from someone that loves sex in books. I didn't read it but they even had sex when the hero was barely breathing and alive? yeah, no thanks. Like, can you worry for once about what is happening around you and stop thinking about how much you want him/her? there are freaking priorities. Same with the third book when Drake was coming in three freaking hours and they had way too much sex for someone that wanted to protect the love of his life by saying goodbye and sending her away. Like, are you for real, man? Your fucked up brother threatened you by killing the love of your life and you waste like whole two hours fucking her? Yeah, as I said, there are erotic books and erotic books and this was just way too much.
So as I was saying, I skipped tons of chapters, honestly kinda the whole book except for the last twenty chapters, probably.
And i stopped reading when he woke up, finally. Honestly, it just got too boring and I wasn't so excited anymore for the story or how it ended (because that was the only reason why i was still reading it).

Goddess Isles.
Overall rating: 2 stars.

Now I'm going to talk about the whole series.

It's wrong. All that is written here is wrong. Even if at the end Sully redeemed himself, is still wrong and he is not a good person, just like he was saying and the heroine completely ignored it. I'm disappointed on Eleonor, honestly I didn't expect her to fall in love so quickly with Sully after reading every thought of hers and knowing how strong she was, at least in the first two books. And at the end, she started to be kinda stupid to me. I mean, I get it, I was warned by the blurb that this was a series about women being trafficked and the man not being an hero and blah blah blah. But I think there are series and series and books and books of this kind and this one went kinda too far for my liking. I couldn't believe that she was falling in love with him even if he had a good side that was that he cared and loved animals more than humans (actually, he hated human beings). But at one point it didn't make sense, since if you hated humans being as you said, why not buying men too? It seemed to me that you only hate women, lol (no lol at all but you get me).

The people that read this series and romanticized the couple here and the whole situation seriously need to get help or something. Not only he bought the "goddess" but also he gave them a freaking drug that made them desperately for sex and to have orgasms (this is literally what the bad guys in Tillie Cole’s series Scarred Souls did to the protagonist in one of the books. They were the bad, the antagonist in a freaking mafia book. So you get what I’m saying?). That is rape left and right. Don't fight me on this because it is fucking rape. It is the same situation if you say that having sex with a drunk woman (or men) you're raping them even if they said yes to that. They are not in their 5 senses. They are under the effect of alcohol or drugs. It is rape. And in this case, even if the man took care of them, he was allowing his guests to rape women (apart from them being there unwillingly).

In some point I started to like Sully. His affection towards animals, any animal, was amazing and his morals about them were unique. But the way he treated women (not human beings because here the only people that were hurt under his command were women) was horrible and not from someone that I'd like, even less love.

If the author wanted to write about a man that deserved any kind of love, then she could have wrote about someone that did deserve it because deep down they were good (at least someone that was good to women. That protected them at any way).

I mean, I knew I shouldn't have read this series because the thing of being bought is seriously fucked up and wrong and just thinking of how the hero did buy women was even worse because I was supposed to love him, to adore him, or at least like him. And as I said before, I did like him but at the end I started to just not feel anything about him and just wanted to see him suffer for Eleonor (because she left him or something. I mean, that was the right thing to do lmao) but I didn't get that, so I got bored.

Probably you'll think that I shouldn't have read it because after this review you'll think that these kind of books aren't my thing but honestly, it shouldn't be yours either. I'm not exaggerating. There are people loving Sully here and they are women, for God's sake.

At the beginning of the series I did like him and the plot and everything but I was not romanticising it. I even thought about Sully really suffering for everything he did. And at some point he did, but he shouldn't have gotten his happy ending, lol.

I've read dark books. I've read about mafia men that kills people and even torture them. But they didn't drug women and raped them. And that's where I draw the line. (EDITED: this sounds bad but lol, in mafia books you know what happens but surely you know that the main characters always protect women, so that’s what I’m saying)

2 stars because the story was good. Interesting and the plot was good enough to keep reading. At least the first four books (I can't believe that I lasted that long).

Seductive, addictive, and unforgettably soulful, Goddess Isles is everything you love about dark romance and dangerous alphas. The strength of the heroine shines throughout the series, and especially so in the final book as she holds everything together, proving it takes a mighty woman to mend the heart of a possessive, stubborn antihero.
This series is a powerful, delicious escape. Nonstop suspense. Sizzling from beginning to end. I highly recommend.

What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
This is the final instalment of the Goddess Isles series by Pepper Winters. You must have read the previous books to read this one.

What a series! Pepper Winters had me engaged from the get-go. The characters had their ups and downs, maintaining a rollercoaster ride throughout the books. The drama peaked in this book. It was a fast-paced read with tension ALL AROUND. Characters weren’t playing around. The antagonist truly stepped up, proudly displaying his evil. Eleanor showed her resilience, her tough side, this time around, more so than ever before. I rooted for her so much.
The world Winters created ended here, but I will remember it as one of the finer literary worlds of Dark Romance! Damn, these islands.
There was so much hopelessness in this final book! I’m incredibly sad that it’s come to an end. Pepper Winters truly outdid herself. The messaging throughout the story was incredible although I did miss Sully’s symbolism with animals and humans a bit in this part (outside of Pika and Skittles). I wished that a played a more integral role in Fifth A Fury, but given the circumstances of this being the final book… I GET IT.
I recommend this to all fellow animal lovers/vegetarians/vegans (WE’RE GETTING A SEAT AT THE TABLE, Y’ALL! High school bully, who?), complex heroines with big hearts admirers and lovers of tortured trust-issues leading men with big… islands amongst other things.

This series has been an insanely intense experience. The hero to drool over, the heroine you love, and the villain you just can't stand. I've loved every minute of it.

These passionate characters have stolen a piece of my heart, and I don't want it back. Pepper has delivered a story with characters that have quickly become my favorite from her.

This journey has been a wild ride so far, but this book, you have no idea what's coming for you. It will leave you breathless with it's intense scenes, passionate emotions, and heart-stopping action.

I'm so excited for everyone to get to this book. You're going to feel this one in your soul, it's pure magic.

Oh My what can I say I believe I found a new favorite of Pepper Winters series. I loved Indebted Series, Tears of Tess & Dollar Series but Sullivan Aiden Sinclair, Eleanor Jinx Grace, Pika Skittles, Cal & Jess are now my favorites.

How can you love a monster easy when is name is Sully Sinclair. This series was a hard one to finish only because I hated to leave the Goddess Isles, every emotion you have and yes ugly-cry too, especially in this last book. A must read fabulous series. Nothing like a man that worships his goddess!!!

The final book is everything I wanted.

Quotes:
“You are my one and only, and that is my oath to you. Accept me, and you accept my drive to keep you safe. Love me, and you agree to be loved every day I am alive and beyond. Marry me, and you are mine forever.”

“Who are you, Jinx? Who the fuck are you to destroy me, restore me, and ultimately make me the happiest monster alive?”

If you thought first four books took your breath away, this one STOPS it altogether.
Suffocatingly Angsty & achingly Yearning love story reaches its finale with Fifth A Fury. Time to wage the War!
The title says it all. the ferocious Fury unleashed with beastly brutality was both vulgar and gratifying.
as a reader I celebrated it like a guilty pleasure.
The predominant emotions were Shock and stupor. Hate and horror. the elusive HEA was within my fingertips reach marking my heartbeat to a dangerous level. Throughout the book my heart was in my throat, my eyes weeping and heart bleeding. I was trapped in this nightmare along with Eleanor & Sully, hanging by a thread, unable to let go.

description

"IT WAS LIKE BEING trapped inside a monochrome kaleidoscope. A tumbling, refracting kaleidoscope that was all blacks, greys, and shadows with no escape."
It was too much...just give them a break Gawd!!!
The earth beneath their feet just gave way and they fell spiraling downwards, leaving him hanging by a thread. A thread of Jinx's touch. That was his only tether, his life line.
"This wasn’t just a string. It was a rope. A rope made of affection,"

description

This entire series has been a Rollercoaster ride, flying high on lust and passion, lowering to despair and betrayals and this culmination of dreadful climax was plain torturous on my heart. To see your beloved characters aching and hurting took a toll on me as a reader too.
Sully Sinclair's survivor tenacity and never-say-die spirit, which was tested beyond human endurance limits. All through the agonizing term Eleanor grew in stature and prominence. The Goddess crown shone brilliantly and she fully owned it!
“He’s a god ruling his own version of heaven and you, my dear friend, are his chosen goddess.”

description

Heavy lies the head that wears the crown though. Her shoulders bogged down at times with the iron- heavy onus of making life & death decisions. Her gait collapsing, her spirit exhausted but her spine stood ramrod straight cause everyone depended on her!
Pepper lets us leave the islands and travel towards to real world filled with Cruelty and madness. The stark contrast was necessary to validate Sully's mission of setting his empire on the reclusive Goddess Isles. The ending will surprise you with some old revisits and new turn of events
Yet another successful, twisted story of dangerous love from Treasure trove of Pepper that will blow your mind. This is her comfort zone, her territory where she's the undisputed queen and she's spinning the tales as fast as we can read them. cannot wait for more adventures that she takes us on

Okay, so...this review is more going to be on the entire series, because in all honesty, I don't know how much I can say about Fifth a Fury without spoiling the entire book. I will say...it is a phenomenal ending to an even more PHENOMENAL series!! Pepper never ceases to amaze me with her ability to put together a story. Her scenes are so vivid and detailed you feel like you are there! Fifth a Fury begins right where Fourth a Lie leaves off...my stomach was in knots nearly the entire book with worry. It was a nerve-racking ending to say the least. It was a beautiful, well deserved ending. I laughed, I cried, I yelled, I was in shock, I was on the edge of my seat...

Now...the series as a whole. You can tell, if you go back to all my reviews, that this series blew me away! I told Pepper that Monsters in the Dark is still my favorite, that Q is still my #1 book boyfriend (he's more husband really)...but that Goddess Isles and Sully were such a close second that it requires a photo-finish to determine the actual winner. And Eleanor...oh...my....goodness...I actually have the say the exact same in comparing her to Tess.

This series was deliciously, decadently, beautifully dark. This series was insanely HOT...please make sure your batteries are all charged and/or have your SO on standby, you're gonna need it. Eleanor and Sully were absolute perfection.
The antagonist...oh he was evil...pure and simple evil. I don't know that I have hated a villian any more than I did him.

If you've been holding out and waiting for the entire series to release in order to read it all in one fell swoop...buckle up, you're in for a WILD, HOT, DARK ride. If you've been reading as each book is released...that wild, hot, dark ride is nearly over, but I promise she has a few more loops to take you on before it's over.

I want more...I want to stay in this world...I wasn't ready for it to be over!! If I could have a time in Euphoria, I know exactly what my fantasy would be!

This is the Epic Finale we have all been waiting for!! Sully and Eleanor are up against such evil will they be able to come out on top? Will they be together after all they have been through? What will become of Sullivan after all he has put his body through in Fourth a lie? This whole series is a magnificent, intense, roller-coaster of passion, secrets, action and emotions. Everything you want in a book is here and more! Every book in the goddess isles series has been a Top Read and this is no exception. Eleanor is such a strong female and Sullivan just makes my heart melt. If you only read one series this year this is the one!!! I’m in awe of the writing and the way we get transported into her stories that you feel a real connection to the characters. Bravo! This does go at a little slower pace but that’s so you get the feel of what’s happening. Told in dual POV

I absolutely did not want to leave the Goddess Isles nor for this series to end!
Pepper Winters wrote a phenomenal story that engulfed me with so much pain and pleasure. The feelings she evoked from me were surreal and beautifully provocative to the point of delirium!

I shall miss Sully and Eleanor but I’m happy for having read their story. Thank you Pepper for enriching my reading experience.

This is a dark read but yet so engrossing you can’t help but see the light that illuminates Sully and Eleanor Jinx!

I highly recommend this whole series!

It took me days to write this review. I am so sad it is finished, but what a wonderful, beautiful journey it was!
Sully and his goddess Jinx have ridden a passionate, emotional roller coaster! My heart pounded at times, and then I would cry, laugh, and become unbelievably hot under my collar. This story was breathtakingly and soulfully touching. The characters were perfect, the passion was off the charts, and the drama and chaos was beautifully balanced.
Some day I will reread this series in it's entirety when I am uninterrupted and transport myself once again to these Goddess Isles and the relive this story of passion and love and angst.
6 beautiful, passionate stars!

description

Fifth a Fury is a heart attack wrapped in an emotional rollercoaster. This book is everything that I had hoped it would be, and then some. Fifth a Fury was nothing short of epic; it was quintessential Pepper!  Eleanor and Sully’s journey to find happiness was paved with monsters and madness, leading to a much deserved HEA. There have been a few series where I equally loved every book in the series, The Goddess of Isles series is one of them. Every book was equally intoxicating and addictive. This book and series are going on my best of 2020 book list.

FYI…
Pepper lessened the blow of this series' ending by mentioning two planned standalone novellas and a new dark romance series!

Omg this series has been epic! The excitement, the sex, the suspense, the heartache, the twists, THE SEX!! Fuck. It’s been an emotional and just a rough fucking ride and I’ve loved every minute of it. The books just kept getting better and better. Fifth a Fury is a nonstop intensity and pain that only Pepper knows how to make us crave.

I have to take a minute to talk about the playlist for this book. It is absolute perfection! I don’t normally listen to music while reading, but I listened to this playlist throughout all five books. And let me tell you- I didn’t just READ this series, I EXPERIENCED it. The songs apply perfectly for all of the books and I will forever think of Sully and Jinx when I hear them.

If you haven’t started this series or maybe you’ve been waiting until all five books were released, NOW IS THIS TIME. Goddess Isles is now complete and absolutely binge-worthy. Lovers of dark romance can absolutely not miss this series! I highly, HIGHLY recommend!!

WAR IS LOVE **all the stars in paradise from my heart**

FURY: ~~ wild and passionate anger/fit of rage ~~ violence of a storm ~~ myth as in “avenging goddess”

“I’m coming, Eleanor”
… WHERE THERE IS FURY AND REVENGE, THERE CAN BE NO MERCY … BUT THERE IS LOVE! Strap yourselves down to read this jacked-up finale. The nail-biting conclusion to the epic series wrecked me with crazy intense, off-the-hook chaos, shock, and awe. My heart and mind were already blown by the last book, but the finale takes it next-level, leaving me even more off-kilter. The crescendo ending of the series is an all-out assault on emotions and senses that spares no shock value or lack of unforeseen twists and turns. It’s bloody brilliant with poetic justice to Sully’s wrath as the ultimate revenge. Decisions are made that may be irreversible. Trust and love are collateral damage. What is illusion is reality and what is reality is illusion. There’s no playbook for what happens and a defibrillator isn’t optional to get through it in one piece. The turbulent story had me guessing wrong at EVERY turn. There will never be another Sully and Jinx.

At what point does the avenger become tainted by revenge? Nothing – ABSOLUTELY NOTHING – prepared me for a version of Sully beyond comprehension, operating on pure animal instinct after his humanity shuts down and is left cowering underneath the bed where all the monsters live. Sully just lets go and unleashes it all (“I. Am. Fury.”)… and what happens is so liberating. He was resplendent as wrath incarnate with the heart of an avenging angel and a reptilian brain for justice. And Drake deserves every bit of his wrath, but at what cost? “Do you hear me?” “You die, I die.”

There’s plenty of fury to go around in the emotionally grinding start that was tough to internalize and dramatically jarring. Such a beautiful example of self-sacrifice and love on one hand, but also heartbreakingly crushing. I was either a cringing sniveling, snotty, or crying mess. The profound range of feelings that Sully and Jinx feel for each other was moving and catastrophic, with a very clever twist thrown in that nearly KILLED me in a nightmare come to life.

The question is – how far will Sully go to protect the woman he loves? And Jinx – that woman rose up like Phoenix from the ashes, equally fierce and protective of the man she loves like some warrior goddess of the sea -- “her strength was a savage thing.” She truly shows her mettle as Sully’s equal in every way. Like a true queen. I had to remind myself that she was only 22. At times I wanted to scream at her, then hug her. And a different side of Sully had me holding my breath. You won’t see any of it coming.

There’s darkness, evil, and tragedy for sure. All of it caused wild spikes in my blood pressure. Not in my wildest imagination did I foresee the blowback that happens, and Jinx literally became my idol. I felt every bit of the discomfort conjured by the couple’s ordeals, with so many warring emotions of abject terror, claustrophobia and defeat to the point that I wanted to skip ahead … but didn’t. This tumultuous journey goes to opposite extremes and left me scrambling to make sense of it all. Where there is war and love, there is also devastation, and the aftermath can be just as treacherous. How the hell was Pepper going to pull this one off?!

“You came after me. I’ll always come after you.”
“Nothing else matters any more. Love matters.” “I love you with everything that I am.”

The couple’s intensely feverish journey packs a giant punch that left me swooning and pulled every heartstring. So many things come full-circle in this amazing one-of-a-kind series. Can Sully and Jinx overcome all their obstacles and find love? Can what is broken be fixed? Will all that happens change them for the better or worse, and how will they come out on the other end of it? Regardless of setbacks, there were such inspiring touches of love. “I want to touch you so bad” “Where?” “Every fucking where.”

The whole message of fate and destiny and the unbreakable bond of love -- all part of the island magic -- was such a strong theme in the book, but Pepper knows how to soothe the sting of her bite with unpredictability that kept me guessing, fully engaged, and ever in search of light at the end of the tunnel. Those clever twists and payoffs nearly drove me insane and I don’t think I stopped holding my breath until the very end.

FOOTNOTE: Pika and Skittles are still the real stars of the series. The tiny heart-grabbing parrots are SO REAL (I miss them already). FINALLY their little humanized personalities that provide so much comic relief, healing power, and irreplaceable importance, took complete center stage with their fierce love, intuitiveness, entertaining spunk and crazy antics. Best of all? – how they were so artfully and wonderfully incorporated.

Sully’s island(s) will always be an unforgettable, vicarious experience, and I must remind myself they aren’t real. “The End” came way too soon because it ripped me away from that perfect paradise and the characters that meant so much. I wanted more … not goodbye. The couple’s love is incomparably stellar -- tested in the most arduous ways; and there are cameos to die for. My heart is broken that the series is over … but I enjoyed my stay in paradise IMMENSELY.

“ I trust you Eleanor, with everything that I am”
“A man who bought your life and ended up stealing your heart”

If I could give this book and entire series more than 5 stars I would.

How do I even begin to write a review that can even touch on the epicness that is this book? This is a serious question. I pursued a degree in literature because I wanted to be able to dive deep into books and be able to explain what the words or author authors were saying, and more importantly, why they might evoke emotions. Yet, I posit, how I can do this book justice? I am not sure I can but I will try.

From the beginning of this series the person that was always in control was Sully. Sure it could be argued that Elanor held the cards. In many ways she did, but it was Sully that ultimately still was the puppetmaster. However, this book changed the game. Elanor was truly a deity in a land of mere mortals. Her strength, resilience, grace, devotion, and perseverance was everything that I could have wanted and more in a female character. I cried when she cried, I felt despair and anger when she did, and more importantly, I felt the joy and love when she did. THAT is powerful when an author has the ability to do that to someone just with her words.

That is not to say that Sully was weak in this one. He had his moments of being his typical god/devil-like self. I was not expecting his journey to be like it was. My heart hurt so many times and seeing what he was experiencing hurt just as much as what I felt for Elanor. When he triumphed, I cheered. When he fought valiantly, I had his back, and when he became a better man my heart soared that he could be this for Elanor AND because he was redeemed because of her. That takes power, too, because this author created a character that was vile and showed that despite his flaws he was worthy. Instead of the Devil falling from the heavens, he instead became a phoenix rising from the ashes into a new body and having a new purpose. I always vowed that no one could replace Jethro or Elder who was closing in on being number one. I was wrong. Sullivan owns my heart, unequivocally and always. #MoveOverJethro #SullivanisMyForeverAndAlways #SulliedbySully

A world was created that had me suspend my beliefs and lose myself in more than just the figurative way that readers do when they get lost in their imagination. This was losing myself literally in not only the words but also in the fantasy that was because of the effects of Euphoria and the Goddess Isles. Even though the premise behind how these two characters fell in love would not be my choice in real life, it worked in this series. Even though the premise was dark and deplorable it soon lost that feeling as instead, I felt invested in everything that was this series. That includes not just the main characters but the secondary ones, the animals, the sanctuary, and the island itself. If there was a heaven on earth I imagine it is this place where the past can be reforged from the ashes and that sins can be cleansed away.

This ending was everything I could have wanted and more. Granted, I bit a few nails down to the quick before I got there. However, it was worth every drop of wine (okay the bottle--don't judge), every agonizing dream as I waited for the next book to be released, and reminded me yet again why this author is a one-click/preorder even before I have a blurb of what the book is about. She is truly one of a kind. The emails in this one made my HEART jump with joy because I got to be reminded of what and how I came to discover her. Seeing how Sully came to dream about his Goddess... just truly everything I could have wanted and more.

It is always bittersweet to see a series end and that is, most assuredly, true in this case. These characters, including Pika and Skittles, have become my friends and family, yet, this is a series that will be going in my all-time vault and I will be reading them again so that I can visit them often. AND the SURPRISE at the end?!?!?! Just sign me up now.

I know I was supposed to write a review that explained how amazing this book is. Yet, instead, I rambled like a shiny squirrel (which is something this author is prone to making me do). However, in this case, maybe my ramblings of a crazy fan that was sullied by Sully and bewitched by the Goddess Jinx is the best compliment and review I can give.

“I’d named her Jinx. And for the first time since we’d met, she was no longer my curse. She was my savior…”

If I would choose one series to read repeatedly for the rest of my life, it would be Goddess Isles. I can completely bare myself to you and say that this series is forever imprinted in my heart, hence my favorite series of all times.

Be prepared for the emotional roller coaster that Pepper gives us in the last book of this magnificent and sinful series; the one in the entire world where you’d want to get lost and never wish to come back, and just like Elixir, you’d feel new things and crave more every time.

The moment Eleanor was taken, she took something that once belonged to a monster, his heart; a monster who learned to love and now that she is everything he wants, she’s not sure if she can lose him when he comes after her, because he will but at what cost?

Sullivan was stripped of everything, she’s gone; and there’s only one thing he can be without her…a monster with a thirst of blood and fury in his veins.

Sinful, dark, and addictive; Pepper Winters has managed once again to create the perfect Dark Romance. A series that can make you feel euphoria, lust, fury and embrace every part even if you feel like your heart is being ripped apart. I can proudly say that this series is my undoing.

The final part of this epic tumultuous journey has sadly come to an end. But what an ending!! The final few sentences were literally the pièce de résistance and literally melted by heart and wishing for a do-over.

The title is aptly named; this book was full of fury and the power in Peppers words once again brought the story and these characters to life. The power struggle between Drake and Sully was dynamic, a real battle of the titans ensuring there was only one victor. I have to say I actually started to feel sorry for Drake. I could actually smell the carnage these two created during their battles; the descriptions of scenes, places, feelings... it was all tangible.

This lady has a vast imagination and this series has been phenomenal; I also liked the reference to the current global situation we currently find ourselves in. Not sure if this series originally had that in mind or whether an after thought but irrespective it fitted the ending perfectly. Well planned and well penned. I can't get enough of this authors writing!

What a finale!!!

I promised no spoiler in this review so I will talk in terms of feelings and general considerations.

First: at some point I truly was disgusted. And I didn’t know if I liked Sullivan anymore or not. We get even more information about what he’s done in the past and even knowing he was a anti hero, I couldn’t condone what he had done nor what he did in the beginning of this book.
It arises the question: can you forgive everything if it is to defend a just and noble cause?
Let’s not forget that he was like an enraged beast at the beginning of the book and Sulli did make some crazy choices that would have dire consequences!

Second: can you atone for your sins? Sullivan will go to purgatory and even hell in this last installment. He will suffer deeply. He will also have to look back into the mirror and really think of who he was, is and who he wants to be. But does everyone deserve a second chance? And when you are truly remorseful, can you still live with who you are and what you did?

Third: Eleanor had already proven that she was strong but in this last novel she will have to shoulder everything and make really hard and harsh decisions. She has so many reasons to despair, to let go, to retreat into her shell. But she will face every hard truth, every ordeal with courage, strength and a will of iron!
Eleanor is also the epitome of survivor. She has learned to adapt to survive the circumstances, right from the start of the first book.
“I gave up trying to predict or control. There was no predicting or controlling when you were someone’s prisoner.”

I can say with certainty that she is a very strong heroine. Honestly, I would not be surprised if she suffered from PTSD in the future.

Fourth: it was a roller coaster of emotions. As Eleanor said “I’d cried in horror, terror, grief, and hope”. At some point I just wanted to stop reading because it was too much for my heart and mind!

Fifth: It was absolutely impossible to predict the path Pepper chose to lead us on in this final part of Sulli and Eleanor’s story! This was a crazy ride and I didn’t predict a single plot twist from the past books! I also loved how characters from past stories, Jethro and Q will make an appearance in this series!

Conclusion: this whole series is the darkest and most twisted I’ve read by Pepper Winters! For as much as I do enjoy dark romance from time to time, I think that now I’ll need a nice, sweet and bubbly YA romance to let my heart get back to his normal heartbeat and my blood pressure lower to less dangerous level. If you are a fan of dark romances, you HAVE to try this series.
