I'm a UK based author who loves to read and write all things romance. As Skye Jones I write steamy paranormal romance that ranges from light and fun to dark and gritty.

As S.R. Jones I write darker contemporary romance and romantic suspense.

I live in Yorkshire, and get lots of inspiration from the windswept moors, the old stone buildings and the Celtic myths of this fair isle.

My dogs are my favourite people, and I'm quite fond of my husband too. I love chocolate and starbucks mochas and keep meaning to give them up for a life as a svelte fashion plate - it never happens!

Title: Wicked Monsters: The Complete Series
Author: Marissa Farrar, Skye Jones
Format: Ebook
Genre: Romance, RH w/MM, Paranormal (Vampires, werewolves, gargoyles, demons, witches)
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: All 4 books of Wicked Monsters
POV: Aisha, Dashiell, Gideon, Ezra, Logan, Jaxson
Steam Level: Hot
4/5

Wicked Monster is a very steamy RH featuring a human, who may be something more than human, a vampire, a gargoyle who's way more than a gargoyle, another human who becomes mores and two wolf shifters. All enemies, they have to work together to keep Aisha safe and learn to trust each other. I highly recommend reading this series in the box set as each book ends on a cliffhanger and the story ends with book 4.

Book 1:Title: Night Captive
Genre: Romance, RH w/MM, Paranormal (Vampires, werewolves, gargoyles, demons), kidnapping, forced submission
POV: Aisha, Dashiell, Ezra, Gideon
Steam Level: Hot
4/5

Night Captive is the first book in the Wicked Monsters series and also the first book I've read by Marissa Farrar and (I think) Skye Jones. Aisha was raised in The Pit with other humans but her time has come to be taken. Where? She doesn't know. When? Soon. How soon? Sooner than she thinks. Dashiell is the head vampire who takes Aisha from the only home she's ever known. A handsome monster, Dashiell is kind and scary and oh so sexy. Enter Ezra. Another one of Dashiell's blood serfs. He's a human but it definitely hiding something. Gideon, a cursed demon/gargoyle who lives on the room, serves a sexy purpose. Night Captive sets the scene/tone for this series, introduces you to some of the characters (the description says five in the harem but I only count four, including Aisha and possibly a fifth at the end) and leaves you with more questions than answers.

Book 2: Title: Cruel Moon
Genre: Romance, RH w/MM, Paranormal (Vampires, werewolves, gargoyles, demons, witches)
POV: Aisha, Logan, Ezra, Jaxson, Gideon, Dashiell
Steam Level: Hot
4/5

Cruel Moon starts right where Night's Captive ends. Aisha and Ezra are on the run with the wolves from Dashiell and the Citadel. While Aisha wasn't quite given the option to go, she didn't quite fight it either. She did, however, insist that Ezra come too. Now that Ezra and Aisha escaped Dashiell and Gideon we find out the secret that Ezra was keeping and what Aisha is. Tensions heat when Gideon spots trouble and Dashiell figures out the power of Aisha's blood. The clock is ticking, the tensions are mounting and I cannot wait to see what happens. If I wasn't reading this in the box set I would be upset at the cliffhanger.

Book 3: Title: Enchanted Dusk
Genre: Romance, RH w/MM, Paranormal (Vampires, werewolves, gargoyles, demons, witches)
POV: Aisha, Dashiell, Gideon, Logan, Jaxson
Steam Level: Hot
4/5

Enchanted Dusk starts right where cruel Moon ends and again is a cliffhanger making me happy to be reading this story as a box set rather than having to buy the next installment. Enchanted Dusk sees Aisha and Ezra on the run toward the pit where Aisha came from. Dashiell, Gideon, Logan and Jaxon reluctantly work together to find them before it's too late. Along the way, Ezra and Aisha run into trouble both natural and paranormal and the rest of the guys are wary of each other, never knowing if someone was going to betray the rest. This book was action-packed but also did a good job of lowering the tension when it could be getting too intense. I wasn't expecting the end and holy insanity I can't wait to see what happen next.

Book 4: Title: Fierce Light
Genre: Romance, RH w/MM, Paranormal (Vampires, werewolves, gargoyles, demons, witches)
POV: Aisha, Gideon, Dashiell, Logan, Ezra, Jaxson
Steam Level: Hot
4/5

Fierce Light starts right where Enchanted Dusk ends and is the climactic conclusion to this series. . In Fierce Light the guys have to work together to save Aisha, building trust and forming stronger bonds. Fierce Light is a great ending to this series which itself is a fabulous journey

No rating, as I rated each individual book and I won't double it by rating them here too. But I did write individual reviews as I finished each book. I'll link them below. But I’ll say a few overall words first. This was bad. It started out bad and got worse as it went. As you’ll see, I was so distracted by the authors’ refusal to call sexual slaves, slaves in book one that I barely focused on anything else. But once the cast list expanded this was less jarring. But the sex because less and less feasible and the dialogue more and more atrocious as the series progressed. Until, by the end, I think I was reading in a permanent cringe.

Additionally, the plot only makes even a little sense if Aisha literally has a magical vagina…maybe addictive in some fashion. There isn’t any reason 5 powerful men instantly dedicate themselves to her, above their own self-interests with nothing more than a single sex act. (I mean, her magic pussy even brought a demon back to God. I don’t think I can roll my eyes hard enough for that!) All in all, the only positive thing I can say about this series is that, having read it, I can mark four books off on my yearly Goodreads challenge.

Night Captive 2*
I’m both torn and not torn about this book, which I understand is confusing. I’m not torn in the sense that I can 100% say with certainty that I did not like this book. But I am torn in the sense that this is the first of four and that gives the series a lot of time to improve…or at least grow past the things I hated so much in this first book. Should I give the next a chance or not? Decision, decisions.

There are numerous reasons I didn’t like this book. But I’ll state upfront that the writing itself seems fine. I didn’t even notice any serious editing mishaps. And I appreciate the bisexual characters. But I just really did not enjoy the overall tone of the book and there were several linguistic quirks that almost drove me to rage. Here’s the biggest one. The authors refer to Aisha and her ilk as serfs. But they aren’t. They’re slaves. These words do not mean the same thing. They cannot be used interchangeably and the characters are not serfs. They are property. They don’t have any of the rights or protections of serfdom. They are slaves. And I found Jones and Farrar’s avoidance of the language reprehensible.

If you are going to be ballsy enough to play with the power dynamic of a master/slave sexual relationship, you shouldn’t skirt around the realities to make it more palatable by wimping out on the language. You need to call it what it is. Anything less is just skeevy.

This is only reinforced by the way that Dashiell is referred to as Aisha’s lover. He is not her lover. She is not his lover. He owns her. There is no equality. There is not relationship outside of his ownership of her.

Look, I’m not ranting that this is a master/slave dark reverse harem erotic novel. I’m not saying these shouldn’t be written. I’m ranting that Jones and Farrar wanted the titillation of a master/slave dynamic without being willing to own up to the fact that that is what it is. They water it down and artificially present is as something other than slavery. And that I have a serious issue with.

When I mentioned this elsewhere someone said, “Sounds like some white supre[macist] bs that re-imagines serfdom as the same thing as slavery.” And that’s just it. It feels supremacist. It feels like someone wanted to snicker and bask in the slavery trope, but didn’t want to truly have to face the atrocity that is slavery.

Again, write slavery tropes, sure. But be honest enough to call it what it is.

But the book ends with Aisha escaping her slave master and there’s a chance of the next book being more tolerable. But I honestly don’t expect much.

Cruel Moon 1*
This is very much a middle book. It doesn’t stand on it’s own, FYI. Much more porn without plot than book one. This is basically just a series of sex scenes and Aisha arguing that the wolves want to keep her just as imprisoned as the vampires, which is true. The word slave is still never used, but the wolves are basically just offering a little more illusion of freedom in her enslavement than the vampires did. But it’s also supposed to be luuuurve.

I did appreciate that Aisha was standing up for herself. She made some very good arguments, not that they made any difference. But I continually came up against the question of how and why Aisha is able to articulate herself so well. She grew up in a very limited environment. She’s far too educated and well spoken for the history the authors have given her and I felt it sharply in this book.

I’m also still not particularly enjoying the tone of the book…series really. Not on any deep reason, just in a not-good-for-me way. The whole thing just feels super ick and I’m struggling with it.

Enchanted Dusk 1*
By this point I’m pretty much finishing this box set/series by grit alone, because I don’t want to leave it languishing in my Kindle Cloud unfinished. But I’m done, toast, really really not enjoying anything about it.

The sex is becoming increasingly ridiculous in an attempt to incorporate all five men. Some of it doesn’t sound at all enjoyable, or like the character herself is enjoying it. I can’t account for all these men dedicating themselves to Aisha by anything but a magic pussy. It’s just stupid really. And I am 100% sick of the hollow Aisha worship. And Aisha is far, far, far, far too knowledgeable about, well, everything, for someone who grew up without experiencing anything.

On a positive note, the word slave is finally used to describe the slaves, though only the once and not in reference to Aisha or in acknowledgement of those who actually held them.

I will read book four, just to finish it. But I don’t anticipate enjoying it any more than this one.

Fierce Light 1*
So, I managed to read this whole series. I think I deserve an award. So, does anyone else who made it through this drek. It was…not good. The final random plot event was both predictable and poorly done. It was just more people who wanted Aisha’s magic pussy. I got so tired of it.

And look, porn without plot books are a thing and I’m not knocking it. But this didn’t read like that. This felt like the authors (two of them) were trying to write porn with plot and just failing miserably. The dialogue too seemed to get cheesier and cheesier the farther into the series I got, until it felt like full on Stilton here.

God, I’m just glad to be done.

Book Review: Wicked Monsters: The Complete Series: A Dark Paranormal Reverse Harem Romance
Author: Marissa Farrar, Skye Jones
My Rating: 5 Stars

REVIEW
I read all four of these books and am now putting that review on this box set.
Night Captive:
The first book in a new series and it left me breathless...
Aisha knows she will be taken eventually from the Pit the only home she really knows. Her time will come and the monsters will come.
Dashiell is not what he seems and yet he is more.
He is dark, brooding, and very dominant.
However, he is not all that awaits Aisha at the castle she was taken to.
Are they all monsters? Does she want them? Will any be her savior?
All I can say is hold on to your seats for this story as it will drag you upside down and inside out. And the hotness is scorching.
The ending left me screaming, I want more so much more...

Cruel Moon:
Book two and it's only gotten better.
Aisha and Ezra find themselves out of the frying pan and into the fire literally with the wolves they escaped the citadel with.
All of them want her, but no one knows what she is until...
Ezra makes a decision and he may just be her savior after all.
Can they get away before Logan and Jaxon find them? Or will Dashiell and Gideon get them back? Or will everyone go up in flames?
Wow can't wait for the next one.

Enchanted Dusk:
This book picks us up where Aisha and Ezra left us on their journey to the Pit, although it's even harder than they imagined it would be. These two find themselves in danger at every turn. And although they worry about the others finding them, they have things ahead that are a lot worse than their lovers. And Aisha has learned of her powers but she still isn't in control of what they can do. She is going to need her vamp, gargoyle, and pack to fight what is ahead. Can they save her though?
I am really enjoying these stories and can't wait for the next one.

Fierce Light:
The final book finds Aisha being whisked away by one evil witch all thought long dead. And Aisha's only thought is of her 5 males who were locked in a battle with some evil Fae.
Only the strong will survive it.
Aisha's bond with Gideon, Logan, Jaxon, Ezra, and her vamp Dashiell will be put to the test. Will they pass it?
Action, Suspense, and Hotness galore make for one heck of a story!!!

Night Captive Bk1:
Aisha was raised in the pit surrounded by Nosferatu vampires until Dashiell the King of vampires wants her. Aisha and Dashiell have intense chemistry together but there are others who are interested in her too. This is an intense, dark read packed with strong characters, great writing, and a story that held my attention from the first page until the last.
Cruel Moon Bk2:
Cruel Moon is book two of the Wicked Monsters series and it picks up where book one left off. Aisha has been taken from the Citadel by wolf shifters and they realize that they needed to change her in order to protect her. This is an intense, dark read with fantastic characters, action, suspense, drama, steam, and unexpected twists that held my attention. After that ending I can't wait to find out what happens next.
Enchanted Dusk Bk3:
Enchanted Dusk is book three of the Wicked Monsters series and it picks up where book two left off. Aisha and Ezra are on their way to the Pit and a lot happens along the way. This is a steamy, intense read packed with action, drama, suspense, unexpected twists, and an ending that left me ready for the next book in this series.
Fierce Light Bk4:
Fierce Light is the fourth and final book in the Wicked Monsters series and I definitely recommend you read the first three books in the series otherwise you will be lost. Aisha is taken from her men by Nyzetta a powerful witch who has a past with Aisha's mates. They are working together to get Aisha back and go through a lot along the way. This is a fast paced story that is action packed and filled with suspense, danger, drama, and twists that pulled me into the story and held my attention from beginning to end.

In this boxset we meet Aisha right before her time in the pit comes to an end. Aisha was brought here as a little girl to be raised until adulthood to become a blood serf for the vampire who wants her. As soon as he picks her up and brings her to his place, a fastpaced story unfolds.

This book fits lovers of fast burn RH; the physical relationships develop before any emotional bonds are really formed and it has plenty of group scenes to enjoy. I liked the difference between the men who want Aisha, and the way she connects with both their best and worst parts. In a way, she seems to know how to manage them and make them fit together as pieces of a complicated puzzle.
The reason I give this boxset four stars is because I missed some "getting to know the characters"-moments. This book jumps right in and because of that, there is very little time to get some background on their personalities. But I am aware that is a personal thing and it is also one of the reasons why fastburn often doesn't sit well with me.

I recommend this boxset for lovers of fast burn RH, group scenes with MM, and fastpaced stories that jump right in.

DNF'ed at 37%.

I didn't realize this book/these books had two authors, and I'm wondering if my dramatic sudden disinterest in it around the 30% mark was because the authors swapped. All of a sudden the writing got noticeably worse, and the plot lines were just really uncomfortable.

I stopped when

I literally HATED Logan. He was insufferable. The only one I would have liked to read more about was Gideon but I couldn't make myself keep reading about stupid Logan.

I can probably understand why people love these books and maybe they get better but my TBR is just too long and I gotta keep it moving.

This is a wonderful story that spans the beginning and end of brutality, which can be interpreted in many different ways....

Aisha has lived in the Pit with no memory of anything before, our leading lady is plucked from everything she knows by the Keepers...vampires that control the Pit as a food source. She is taken by the vampire leader Dashiel and from there begins her journey of revelations, revelations both physical and mental.

Aisha comes into contact with first the vampire and then the rest and she loves all 5, a vampire a demon/gargoyle and 3 werewolves. The tension between the men is palpable. The beasts come together and embark on a mission to rescue Aisha from the hands of their worst enemy. The fact that the men are all basically enemies of each but are willing to overlook it to be with the Aisha makes it a worthwhile story. The sexual chemistry between them all is very passionate. But will their passion and love be enough to make crucial changes for all?

The ending was a surprise, very dramatic and I loved it!

Wicked Monsters #1-4 . . .

This is a wonderful, exciting collection about Aisha and her guys. The books should be read in order which will take the reader to the exciting conclusion. Below is a review of one of the books to give you an idea of what’s in this series.

Titles include:

1. Night Captive
2. Cruel Moon
3. Enchanted Dusk
4. Fierce Light

*** Reviewing “FIERCE LIGHT #4” ***
Aisha is torn away from the vampire, gargoyle and wolves she loves by a powerful witch who is determined to get Aisha’s powers for herself. Through the help of some Fae, will the witch be able to extract Aisha’s power from her? Can her guys rescue her in time to defeat the evil Nyzetta? With Nyzetta’s past history with Aisha’s mates, will she use Aisha as a means to retaliate against them?

Grab your copy for the exciting conclusion. There is non-stop action as the final battle takes place to free Aisha from the witch. Who will win? Who will survive?

I was extremely fascinated by the story’s premise. It’s an intriguing and darkly sexy tale that will hold you in its thrall and possibly breathless at times. This fast-paced story will draw you in from the beginning and keep you entranced beyond the end. As the story unfolds you are introduced to several interesting characters, gradually becoming aware that each one holds a special meaning to the storyline. Although everyone’s role in this fantastical drama is slowly unfolding, and we’re learning more about our main characters and their developing relationships to each other, it’s clear throughout that what’s to come will have a significant effect on all their lives right up to the captivating end of what is a very passionate tale and definitely worth the read.

This book contains the four previously released books in the Wicked Monsters fantasy series. Those books are: Night Captive, Enchanted Dusk, Cruel Moon, and Fierce Light. This is the action-packed, erotic reverse harem story of Aisha and her five mates (the Monsters). I don’t want to say much about the plots to avoid any spoilers, but I was completely captivated by the story. I loved the mix of paranormals – wolves, a vampire, even a gargoyle. It is intense, suspenseful, exciting, and passionate throughout, and getting this combined volume is a good idea, because you won’t want to stop reading once you get started and you won’t be bothered by the cliffhangers.

Aisha meets her monster mates in these 4 stories Dashiell the vampire, Gideon the demon gargoyle, Ezra the human, Logan and Jaxon the werewolf’s.
Book 1 Night Captive.
Book 2 Cruel Moon.
Book 3 Enchanted Dusk.
Book 4 Fierce Light.
The books end on a cliffhanger but you don’t have to wait for the next book all you have to do is to turn the next page to read the next book how easy is that?, that’s the great thing about having the whole series in a boxset. Fantastic series with a great storyline and plot I loved it and the characters and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Loved this book so much. The characters leapt from the pages and the sex scenes sizzled. The storyline and characters are absolutely fantastic! Aisha, the main character, has the luck of finding not one, but five beastly men to love her. The dynamic of the group is swoon-worthy and the tension between the men is palpable. The fact that they are all basically enemies of each but are willing to overlook it to be with the her makes it a worthwhile story. The sexual chemistry between them all is very passionate. The ending was a surprise, very dramatic and I loved it! Totally worth reading again and again!

A complete joy!

So glad I picked up the box set. A beautifully written tale of romance and change. Living in the Pit with no memory of anything before, our leading lady is plucked from everything she knows by the Keepers...vampires that control the Pit as a food source. As the journey continues, she will encounter gargoyles, demons, werewolves, fae and witches.....Will those she has fallen in love with be able to love her...and get on with the other men in her life. A wonderful read and amazing characters in a world you can't help but fall into....and of course there is a HEA...eventually!!!

Ya’ll know how much I love paranormal smut… So it’s a shock for me to only give 3 stars. But my rating has nothing to do with the storyline or the smut.
It flicks from first person to third person depending on the character’s chapter. It drove me insane the entire time I was reading it. Me and third person books just don’t click, my brain just doesn’t like it.
If this was written only in first person, I’d have given it 5 stars but it being in third person ruined it for me.
I love EVERYTHING that Marissa & Skye writes so I definitely recommend this series, but only if you’re okay with the flicking between first and third person! 🖤

Wicked Indeed!

This four-book boxset is full of monstrous bad boys (count them - 5!), danger, darkness and one woman who has enough goodness to redeem them all. I loved how the authors made even the worst of the men (Dashiell) redeemable in a believable fashion. Aisha develops a unique relationship with each of her men, and the inter-relationships between the men add extra interest and spice to these stories. As a boxed set is undoubtedly the best way to enjoy this series - I can’t imagine having to deal with waiting between books! Such a great series from a terrific duo of authors.

The story starts with Aisha, a young woman who had been growing up in "the Pit" - an abyssmal place where people are taken from to serve "monsters".
Aisha is chosen and taken to Dashiel, a vampire. But life offers her an adventure and more than one man to love.
Her destiny is a special one that leads her and her five mates on a rather eventful thrilling path.
The book is a page-turner, fast-paced at times, but slows down, to give the reader time to catch breath.
Well-written and fun to read.

Character love ❤️

The characters in this series did it for me. I loved how different they all were, and bringing that many different ways of life together was very fun. Our fmc was strong but also soft when needed and took care of each mmc to better round them. I would have liked some more history/backstory for our mmcs, though. I think it would have helped round them. The plot was fine enough to keep things moving, but there were some silly things. Overall, a fun read.

This bookset is one of those hidden gems in my opinion. I was expecting a bunch of stories where they see each other and hit it off right away. With a great deal of hot steamy sexy times. That the heroes were into having control. Well, they are but not the way I thought. What I got was something more. They have great chemistry and attraction. I also got heavy drama and a lot of romance!!

Dashiell was my favorite!

Loved it! The MC was perfect...she was a victim n she let us know but didn't whine FOREVER about about it and definitely didn't keep going back and forth with her thoughts. She took the crap life she was dealt and made it magical for her and her men. Thanks for a amazing read!

Fantastic and fast paced, it gas it all

Aisha begins the series as a slave of sorts, destined to serve a vampire master until he has no more need of her. Well, as we know, destiny has a funny way of changing it's mind and throwing you for a loop.
Great series, best read all at once, that is action packed and hotter than, well, take your pick, lol.

Vampire/shifter and Demon reverse harem

Humans kidnapped as babes and forced to live in a place known as the pit groomed to be fed upon by the Keepers....Vampires. or their army of mindless beasts the Nosferatu. Until Aisha came of age and the King of the Vampires became her keeper.

An interesting story with well rounded characters and plenty of spice. Definitely worth a read.
