Cold Warriors

Dylan Kane #3

by J. Robert Kennedy

THE COUNTRY'S BEST HOPE IN DEFEATING A FORGOTTEN SOVIET WEAPON LIES WITH DYLAN KANE AND THE COLD WARRIORS WHO ORIGINALLY DISCOVERED IT.

While in Chechnya, CIA Special Agent Dylan Kane stumbles upon a meeting between a known Chechen drug lord and a retired general once responsible for the entire Soviet nuclear arsenal. Money is exchanged for a data stick and the resulting transmission begins a race across the globe to discover just what was sold, the only clue a reference to a top secret Soviet weapon called Crimson Rush.

Unknown to Kane, this isn’t the first time America has faced this threat, and he soon receives a mysterious message, relayed through his friend and CIA analyst Chris Leroux, arranging a meeting with perhaps the one man alive today who can help answer the questions the nation’s entire intelligence apparatus is asking—the Cold Warrior who had discovered the threat the first time.

Over thirty years ago.

In Cold Warriors, award winning USA Today and million copy bestselling author J. Robert Kennedy weaves a tale spanning two generations and three continents with all the heart pounding, edge of your seat action his readers have come to expect. This was a good book with some neat ideas in the "spy" world. I'm going to take a break from this series -for now. Worth the read..but I would read #1 and #2 first to get the people sorted out and it makes it a little more fun.

Loved the narration of Adam Barr, he bought the characters, action, pace and humour to life.

This plot has great suspense, and we meet Dylan Kane, who is a wonderful character. Nuclear bombs were placed in the US and in Europe by the USSR during the Cold War and someone was now threatening to set them off. Excellent characters, good plot and it kept me on my seat. Loved the agents from the Cold War, who had honour and though aged a little, still have a part to play. And they work alongside Dylan as they try to prevent a nuclear holocaust. Loved it!!

Another excellent book by Mr. Kennedy. A good suspense novel with Dylan Kane being the lead and who is a wonderful character. Nuclear bombs had been placed in the US and the world by the USSR during the Cold War and someone was now threatening to set them off. Excellent characters, good plot and it kept me on my seat.

I'd highly recommend it to anyone who loves suspense.

DNF. I’d forgotten that this was the same series that the seductress fell in love with the nervous nerd. I didn’t believe it in book 2, but was too far along to ditch it. But by Chapter 9 in THIS book with him being ‘fooled’ by the ex-CIA guy (he was an idiot), I moved on. Nobody would fall for that.

How this got a 4.41 is beyond me.

While another good book by Kennedy with plenty of action, the Kane series (so far) really relies on the other characters of the book. Definitely worth the time to read, but hopefully future books will contain more about the main character.

Another great read.

Again worth the 5 stars with a cracking storyline. The Cold War is the basis here with agents from those times, though aged a little, still have a part to play. And they work alongside Dylan as they try to prevent a nuclear holocaust. Loved it!!

Dylan Kane!

What a great story teller and great story. Although these books can be read independently, I suggest you read them in order that way you'll get the back story on the characters and will enjoy them even more.

Not as strong as the first two but still enjoyable. Agent Dylan kane stumbles across a plan to sell cold war secrets to modern day terrorists. He turns to retired Russian and US spies to stop them. Good pacing and action.

Book 3

Book 3 was a fun read and had a few errors throughout. The plot and characters are developed well. Some of the information is a bit predictable, but explains later on what it's about.

Really good.

Good job Delta group.

I really liked this book.
I don't lime all the time of year and dates names and locations. Always changing .

Be fan to think Kane wouldn't make the book.

while it kept me entertained, it was outlandish and I found the writing sometimes ... childish, I guess. This author is also pre-occupied with sex.

Scary

Being of that age and being aware of the "suitcase bombs" and other cold war threats, while being in the countries that were in this novel it was all too real

Kane and Leroux to the rescue

Pretty good read, the author does a nice job of tying in the old cold war spies with Dylan Kane and his Delta buddies.

[Aivars Silins]

Loved it and at certain points had strong sentiments for the characters.
