Welcome to Club Royal, where your deepest desires are no longer a secret...
Douglas is the spare heir, and he chafes at the restrictions placed on his extra-curricular activities. He wants nothing more than to lose himself in someone else, but too many people are out for what they can get from him, including a membership at the exclusive and highly confidential Club Royal.
Maverick was given the role of social media manager to Douglas as punishment for showing up his boss two years ago. Try as he might, he has not been able to get a transfer, though it could be because he is too damn good at his job. Despite being given the exclusive membership to Club Royal, he doesn’t use it...it’s just not his kind of thing.
When Douglas figures out Maverick’s weakness, he wants to be the one to teach Maverick everything, and it sends them on a journey neither had anticipated.
Can Maverick trust his body to a man who can have anyone he desires?
This book contains sensation play, BDSM scenes and D/s dynamics in all forms. It also has lots of loving, friendships, family drama and, of course, a HEA.
Elouise East writes sweet and steamy connections in gay romance. She also touches on taboo stories under the name Elouise R East.
Books that tell the stories where friendship and family are the focal point - be it blood family or chosen - are very important to her. That’s why she includes a variety of personalities, talents, ages, situations and abilities as she believes a story or character needs. She wants her characters to be real, to be relatable, to be free to have whatever views they tell her they have. And trust her, most of the time, she does not have any say in the matter!
Her characters come to life on the page for her as well as her readers. Their stories unfold in front of her as she writes, and she has very little input into how they want to be shown. Just like real life, the lives of her characters change with every choice, every interaction and every conversation. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.
She writes books that are emotionally realistic, even if liberties are taken with other aspects of the stories. She doesn’t know any other way to write. It comes from deep inside.
Who is she? A single parent to two children living in the UK. An avid reader who still tries to devour every book she can get her hands on. A student of learning about any subject that takes her fancy. An author of books she would read herself. And a romantic at heart who loves anything cheesy.
Who’s joining her on her journey?

I have to say that as far as plot originality, this author gets a high five from this reader. This is unique to the point that I can say with great certainty there may not be another book with this theme out there. That was a huge plus for me in deciding to dive into the book and after reading the journey I can tell you I will be looking out for more Club Royal books.
I’ve never read this author before and I am quite impressed all around. The storyline was believable. The characters were cheer worthy and the journey was sexually driven as one would expect. I’ve never been one to really enjoy books that do a deep dive into the BDSM world, but I was glued to my kindle and a bit mesmerized from the moment I started. The sensual pull of the overall story is strong, and I loved it! AND, there’s a mystery plot point that runs thru the entire journey that enhances and works very well with the romance journey.
Honestly, I can’t say I know what I was expecting, but I love what I got. Solid 4.5 Stars!
This author clearly wants you to be invested in buying the rest of the series, since they have additional one chapter POVs from non main characters that do nothing to further the plot of the current book, nor do they make me curious about the next book. They mostly just left me confused and irritated. I barely finished this book, and will not be getting the next one. I feel the author should concentrate on the current story and add a blurb at the end of the book to hook you for the next one.

This is a wonderful start to a new series. It’s got a devilishly charming prince, humour, palace intrigue, a sweet romance, and some sensual and steamy kink. The sensation play is amazingly well done! I haven’t seen much focus on this kink before, and I can now say that I absolutely love it. I loved the characters as well. There is a good amount of character development, and not to mention the amazing chemistry between Douglas and Maverick. One thing I can always count on with this author is a deep exploration of each character, specifically their vulnerabilities. I empathised easily with the MCs, and I never stopped cheering for them. Very much looking forward to more from this series!
There’s a good blend of romance and suspense here, and both the characters and the world they inhabit are super interesting. Douglas and Maverick have great chemistry, and the way sensation play is depicted in their story is super hot. Both book and series have a lot of promise, and I look forward to reading more.

Rogue Royal hit the spot perfectly! I fell in love with the characters and the way Elouise East built a world that I’d love to live in. I’m excited to continue with this series.
The characters! Mav! I love Maverick so much. All the characters had excellent depth to them and I enjoyed seeing the character development throughout the book. The chemistry between Maverick and Douglas was perfect.
Speaking of chemistry, the BDSM aspect was very well thought out. Normally I don’t see sensation play in BDSM books, or at least if I do it’s not the main focus. This highlighted it and really took the reader into a facet easily overlooked in fiction. The author showed an incredible amount of detail and understanding with BDSM. I love how Elouise East focused on the relationship part of it as well. The BDSM scenes were not used as crutches.
There is a solid suspense plot throughout this. It was expertly weaved throughout the romance and didn’t overtake it. Instead, the suspense enhanced it.
I appreciated how original this is, especially with the storytelling. There were occasional POVs I didn’t expect and it led me to wanting more from those characters. It didn’t draw away from the main romance, but instead gave me a fuller understanding of that world.
In terms of world building, the author did an exceptional job. I felt like I could walk right into the story. I wish I could and not just because I wanted Mav, but because of the richness of the world and story Elouise East created.
This was one I couldn’t put down. I cheered for the characters, sat on the edge of my seat at times, and overall felt for these characters. I’m already looking forward to the next one!
5 stars for an emotionally captivating and unique read!
I have mixed feels on this book, while I enjoyed the romance and the MCs chemistry is wonderful. I wasn't so keen on the Club, the royal aspect was weird with all the family working there together... Just didn't work for me.
Also Douglas visiting various subs homes to check on them, like it didn't make sense with his job. Along with the supposed strict rules and support in the club, surely could have set up a job role for this or something. It was just really weird and intrusive to me.
Anyway let's get on to the stuff I enjoyed, Mav captured my heart instantly. His guitar playing, his friends and of course his relationship with Douglas was wonderful to see develop through the story.
These two have chemistry from start to finish, that first massage between them the delicate moments and all of the sensory just stunning. Definitely captures a variety of kinks beautifully in this book, with the focus on sensations which I adored.
Plenty of steamy scenes, but also just so much sweet and soft moments between these two. The aftercare, exploration and tender feels as Mav & Douglas fall in love. While there is some angst in regards to status, it was quickly resolved towards the end and I enjoyed their romance so much.
I did adore Mav & Douglas, the writing is gripping and the romance is lovely with all the feels. They get their happy ending!
However I'm not sure continue the series, purely as the club stuff didn't work for me and takes up a large part of the story/series. Still I will definitely try more from this author, as enjoyed the romance ☺️

💞 🔥A great start as Douglas is given extra jobs as well as working at the Royal Club instead of playing and attracting the media for the wrong reasons. From the first page I was glued into this to see who things would play out. Maverick has never done and BDSM and never surrendered to anyone before. Maverick his Douglas’s secretary of sort had never visited the Club but an unwelcoming migraine beings so does something else. Douglas is the misbehaving Prince so everyone thinks that needed something or someone to keep him out of trouble. I loved the friendship between Mav and Zara it brought Mav's personality out more to the story. The BDSM scenes where fantastic which some are emotional too especially with a sub who calls red. Their first kiss scenes was hot and what happens after with Douglas beautifully teasing Mav. Henry's story was intriguing for the future with snippets included in this. A great ending for this with an HEA and includes both POVs but sneaks a few others POVs in also for teasers to future books. This is similar to other themes books but with other things unique into the story, I loved this one and the characters.
Douglas 36 years was second in line royalty but it still doesn’t get him away from being reprimanded by his parents about his media mishaps. Maverick 32 years was the palaces media person as well as a secretary to Doug. He didn’t want to do the job but he's being made to by his other boss, Bert.
Club Royal is a BDSM club where you can safely explore your darkest desires. Douglas is a spare heir and struggles with the restrictions placed on his activities where he wants to lose himself in someone else, but people are only out for what they can get from him including membership in Club Royal. Maverick is Douglas's social media manager which was given to him as a punishment for showing up his boss two years ago and although he has tried hard he cannot get a transfer, although as he is damn good at his job that could also be the reason why. He was given exclusive membership of Club Royal but has never used it as it is not his kind of thing. When Douglas figured out Maverick's weakness he wants to be the one to teach him everything and it sends them both on a journey that they had not anticipated. Can Maverick trust his body to Douglas?
I really enjoyed this story which has a sensitively told working relationship which morphed into a more physical relationship which then developed into love. I think they loved each other before their physical relationship started and it was more a manifestation of it. I loved the way that they were able to stand up for each other, help when there was trouble using whatever skills that they had, and that their family was able to adapt and accept the situation as part of their love for their child. Some dramatic moments, some sensation play, BDSM and D/s dynamics plus of course sexual encounters. This is a book only for mature readers. I loved that there was a HEA at the end.
This book is not really a standalone. But it is the first book in the series and centers on Douglas and Maverick. These two are both so likable it’s hard to see how Douglas is falsely identified as a habitually, in trouble playboy. Maverick’s job is to try and keep Douglas on track and to clean up his missteps. In reality Douglas is so responsible and warmhearted. Douglas is the spare and his brother Freddie goes out of his way to stand up and cover for Douglas because he know what Douglas is up to. When Douglas and Mav start to admit there is this attraction between them, Douglas’s father, warns him that Mav is not to be a serious involvement. Who can decide what the heart wants and that is the magic that pulls them together. Douglas is into the club and the BDSM lifestyle. Mav is a total non pain person. He knows of the club but has a mistaken opinion of what goes on there. Douglas starts by introducing Mav to sensory play. This works out well for both of them. I appreciated how the author handled the fact that there are not really hard and fast rules and pain and torture are not necessarily a part of this lifestyle. Throughout the story there are a number of other issues that keep the characters on their toes. The flow of the story is constant. The author gave a a good feel for who the characters are. The secondary characters are interesting. I am anxious to read the rest of the story.
The following series of titles takes place in the lifestyle (world) of BDSM. If you are not in the lifestyle, it will open your eyes to the nuances, the sub-areas within the umbrella of BDSM. It will make you think about your own requirements, reflect on your own needs, wants and yes desires. It will make you consider what your personal coping mechanism are in dealing with personal/private and public things. Your reactions to these relationships and the various aspects of these characters will speak to you... or not. That being said... ~~~~~~~ Firstly, thank you. Like Maverick, I also thought BDSM was all about pain. Thank you for changing my views on that! Thank you for showing me that it wasn't/isn't all dominance and submission, and that (from my old perspective) it was all cold and controlled.
I've fallen in love with both Douglas for his nature/nurture/caring yet controlling attitude. I love how strong and self assured Maverick is yet, need that additional tenderness. Even the occasion of Mav caring for Doug was... nice. Sorry I can't think of anything stronger LOL
These characters and the other's encountered show a deeper aspect of the BDSM world. There is growth within themselves. There is caring, there is a little homour and loads of familial relationship aspects which are visited. In a gay charactered storyline, I'm find this refreshing! It's not just sex but also human interactions. The care given to submissive was fascinating, never realised just how balanced a relationship like that would be...
Thank you for the pleasure of the story, and thank you for educating me in something I've never understood
This was a really fun read and a great start to a new series. Set in some kind of alternate reality, there is a royal British family, not the actual one, that engages in all of the traditional royal activities, but also maintains Club Royal, a BDSM club for the royals and their approved members. With everyone required to sign NDAs, the club is unknown to the public.
Douglas, one of the royal princes, always seems to be getting in trouble in the media for his various antics, especially with other men. It stresses out Maverick, his social media manager, who is tasked with minimizing negative press and putting a positive spin on Douglas. As time goes by, the two men become attracted to each other and Maverick becomes more in touch with his own submissive nature. Douglas is a Dom in the club and Maverick wonders what it would be like to submit to him, although he's generally afraid to try BDSM. As their relationship progresses, feelings become more intense. Can there be a future for the two men when it is forbidden? Other storylines present danger and non-detailed abuse to members, as well as other intrigue. What's also different in this book is that Maverick is not into any pain or impact play and prefers sensory-based BDSM. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
I really enjoyed this mm book about royalty involved with a commoner. Add to it elements of bdsm and I like it even more. This leads me to the one problem that I have with this book, which is the idea idea of the British royal family being secretly involved in a kink club. Nothing against kink or the royals but the two don’t go together in my head. I guess I would have preferred it to be a made up country’s royalty. If you can suspend your disbelief long enough to read this book you will probably enjoy this book. On the other hand one of the things that I really enjoyed was that Maverick wasn’t interested in pain play which bdsm books tend to emphasize and often end up sensationalizing. Douglas is definitely still a dom but he is fine with just getting into sensation play and this type of scene ends up just as hot in the writing hands of Elouise East as any other bdsm scene I’ve read. All in all this is a great book that was lots of fun to read. Can’t wait to read more from this series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Douglas, gives a new meaning to the phrase, 'the situation'. Douglas is the younger brother of Frederick, heir to the throne. He chafes under the constrictions placed on him as a Royal. His rebellions conflict directly with the image the Royal family tries to portray. Maverick, was assigned to be Douglas' social media manager because he made his boss look bad. As one of the benefits, he gets a membership to Club Royal. He doesn't use it because it's not his thing. He refuses to give up his hard won control. Inconveniently, Mav is given the additional duty of basically being Douglas' keeper. He resents his new responsibilities and constantly complains to his boss, who ignores him. Douglas, constantly tries to encourage Mav to visit the club. Eventually he learns Mav's secret and exploits it. Will Doug get Mav into the club? Why does Mav fear loosing control? Can Mav like Doug, even a little bit? Great story. The family is absolutely delicious! The path to Douglas' solution is fun, funny and satisfying. Nicely done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I actually like fiction books with bdsm when it is written well. And you hit a home run with Douglas and Mav. I also really like royalty books, M/M and HEA books so it it everything. The story is about a really bad boy Royal or is he? Maverick is his social media manager and keeps his schedule straight. It will was meant as a punishment but after a particularly bad migraine that Douglas saw, he made sure he didn't feel that people pain. Thing is he has to admit he used one area a sub/master would and did it all without permission. Mav. realized he not only likes but needs the touch involved in what he does. They continue on with their relationship much to the anger of the king. Also during this time there was a whole other story being told about how subs were treated so badly by just a few but those few were really injuring them. Douglas has always taken care of subs when no one else noticed. Great story lines. Lots of BDSM. But not trashy. And lots of erotica. VERY SMEXY! Worth the read! 10/10
Eloise East blew the assignment of kicking off my February reads off with pure greatness!!!
I genuinely almost stopped reading after the first chapter... But, I told myself I wasn't really giving the book a real opportunity to grab my attention... By the end of chapter two... Maverick and Douglas had my undivided attention!!! Maverick is in a position that he hates (kinda) but feels stuck due to unfortunate circumstances... Douglas is 2nd in line for the crown, which seems to keep ending up in the papers, with Douglas in what seems to be precarious situations... Leaving Maverick to attempt to steer the attention of the public away from the scandalous tabloid stories...
But, there is so much more to these men's intermingled lives...
Self discovery Sensation Play BDSM Importance of Family

Brilliant! East starts a new series with two intriguing characters and an aspect of BDSM which I hadn't encountered before. The extended (fictional) UK royal family plays pivotal roles in the story, with good and bad. Prince Douglas, second child of the current king and queen, has been collecting bad press, and a social media expert, Maverick, is engaged to dampen the damage. Add in a BDSM club as a royal business, all sorts of drama ensue. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and look to the prequel and next entry.
There is one line that I found profound. It ends Chapter 17: "He had ever said and yet heard so many words in the silence before. "
Author Elli East awarded both a printed softbound book and an annotated manuscript when I won a newsletter drawing. This review is unsolicited and offered freely.
I was intrigued by the notion that the Royal family was in the club business and even more intriguing the club they owned was a BDSM club. The entire family has to learn the business and they have to keep things on the hush and be mindful of publicity and scandals and image. I thought this was a very imaginative take on living in the public eye but needing to be careful of how much others see. Douglas, the spare and Maverick who works for the family and with him find themselves not only drawn together because of the work they do together but because they fit, they are attracted to one another and they fall in love. I liked the fact that this story mixed a bit of intrigue with the forwarding of the relationship between the main couple.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Prince Douglas has a problem with his public image, which is why Maverick is working for him. His mission is to keep the prince out of trouble and improve public opinion of him after the latest scandals. They are both attracted to each other but they don’t take the next step due to working together, but one day as Douglas helps Maverick with a migraine by giving him a massage, Douglas finds the courage to ask him to visit the royal family's BDSM club. Although Maverick refuses to go, he is curious to know more about that lifestyle. But he will have to be careful with his heart, because the prince seems to make many nightly visits to the houses of various submissives of the club. What I liked the most is the love story, of course, and especially how Douglas educates Maverick with such delicacy, patience and care, as well as making it super hot.
Loved it Took a while to get into but then couldn't put to down. Douglas comes across as a spoilt Prince rebelling, but that is far from the truth. Maverick was employed to be his social media person, who covered up the bad press Douglas got, with pictures of his charity work. There is chemistry between the two men but neither doing anything about it . Until Maverick gets one of his migraines and Douglas gives him a head massage. When Maverick asked Douglas for help Douglas was wondering what he could possibly want. Full of steamy, sexy lectures about the body, with plenty of practical classes. Brilliant start to new series, can't wait for next.
Warning: there is explicit scenes of BDSM and some violence.
Also I suggest you sign up for the author’s newsletter and read the prequel first or see how to get it. It does give insight into the club and some of the characters. You can read the book without it but after reading it, I understood the dynamics of the club better.
Having said that. I enjoyed the this book. I loved Douglas and Maverick. I loved the twist of Douglas secret and that he isn’t quite the bad boy he seemed. Though there is lots of sex( it is an erotic BDSm book after all) there is other storylines as well that keep you eagerly reading. I cannot wait until November for the next book!
A different look into the world of royals and BDSM. I enjoyed both Douglas and Maverick. Douglas was a dominant, a wild child (or so it seemed), yet very caring of his charges, family, and friends. Maverick was the organized one, intelligent, and tense. He was missing out on something. When Maverick was honest with Douglas, things became very heated between them. There was a lot of family support within the royals for Douglas' choice. They wanted him to be happy and less wile. I really enjoyed the story and look forward to more in the series.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
Prince Douglas is the spare to the heir of the royal family. He is known for his playboy ways and is forever getting himself into mischief and in the news. His minder/social media PR person- Maverick is exasperated with him. When Maverick starts to explore the BDSM world Douglas and the royal family are involved in, things take quite a turn. Maverick becomes Douglas’ sub and gradually they grow feelings for one another. Not all is perfect though when someone is out to destroy Douglas’ life. Rogue Royal is a m/m romance which features some hot and dramatic scenes. It’s the first book by the author I’ve read and look forward to reading the next book in this new series. Four stars
A captivating story to start of this series of royals. Douglas is the spare heir to his elder brother and the target of the media. Maverick is someone he works with on the regular as a result of this and someone he becomes drawn due to unforeseen circumstances. What they discover about each other is that they are so perfect for each other and how well their desires align.
A riveting tale about royals and a bdsm club, one is surely to be entertained. The story has many POVs which enriched the tale. There is suspense, passionate scenes and well done kinky elements as well. I’m eager to meet the rest of the royals in the future books to come.
what a fun play on the royal family that’s into bdsm lifestyle
I quite enjoyed this first book to this series about a British royal family that unbeknownst to the public, runs a bdsm club where they all take part in. The cousins and princes are monitors and look out for the subs.
Prince Douglas is second in line to the thrown and Maverick is his pr/ secretary forced into looking after him. Things aren’t what they seem though and they both start getting feelings for each other. There’s lots going on behind the scenes but I enjoyed the characters and the humour in is as I live in the U.K. and our royals are quite famous.
