She thinks she has us eating out the palm of her hand. Wrong. She’ll only ever be our useful fool. Her sinful dancing at the talent show may have taken us by surprise. But now more important things are going down at Lochkelvin. Still… that doesn’t mean we’ll stop her dancing for us whenever the urge strikes. We’re generous like that.
----
They’re crazy. Absolutely crazy. Did they even mention the hostage? No, they didn't. Because I’m dealing with absolute psychopaths here. The chiefs believe they can get away with anything, including torture. And for the most part, that’s true. It’s what happens when the world caters to rich elite freaks like them.
And yet it doesn’t stop me dancing for them under the covers of darkness, wishing they'd include me in their secrets. One day I'll get there – and then they'd better watch out.
Kind Sinners is a plotty, slow-burn bully romance set in a political academy. It’s Reverse Harem, which means the main character doesn’t choose between her love interests. This is Book 2.

2.5 stars. I’m sorry but I genuinely tried to like this book. I have this really annoying habit where, no matter what, I have to finish whatever book/series I start. So I’m gonna continue the series - with that being said, I strongly dislike Jessa.
She condemns her classmates for worrying about “trivial” things and then does the same? Like you’re worried about all of the guys when there’s a literal terrorist roaming the halls of your school?! Not to mention how she handles Danny’s coming out. She really had the nerve to say “First, the whole coming out thing. I’d never have known, never have suspected, Danny leaned that way. Although I suppose, maybe, looking back… maybe he was too good to be true.” EXCUSE ME? You pushed him to tell you his secret and then this is what you think? She uses Finlay and leads him on but then dumps him time and time again for Luke - who she literally knows almost jackshit about other than the fact that he’s a prince of Rory - who runs hot and cold always or even BENJI. Like ?! She got all high and mighty about Finlay trusting him but had no qualms about shoving her tongue down his throat. At one point, she even says that “despite his politics” he seemed charming and fun - ah yes. We can excuse terrorism.
It’s just wild as hell. She’s such a doormat and when she does decide to stick up for herself, it’s almost always about something stupid.
I love most of the guys and I hope the book gets better but idk.

It was nice to return to Lochkelvin Academy in beautiful and magical Scotland. The way that Evie Kady describes the Academy and the surrounding setting is just stunning. I don't think I can ever get enough of Evie's writing. In this installment, we pick up right where the first book ended, thankfully. I found this so very easy to get back into the story and pick up the story.
I love the way the series is evolving from a bully academy centered story to a story that is centered around political unrest and what the positions of the main characters in this conflict are. It has made for a really intriguing storyline, and it has deepened the plot and sub-plots and given us even more twists and turns.
Our beautiful FMC still has her own struggles that she has to deal with, and at moments, I don't understand why she makes the choices she does. But, I have to remind myself that she's a 17 year old girl that's over-run with hormones she doesn't understand and can't control and she just wants to be loved and this really feels more realistic than her being able to always take the right course all the time no matter what.
In my opinion Rory can be an ass, but with her history, I kinda get why she's drawn to him I don't think he deserves it, who really knows though, hopefully he'll actually surprise up later in the series. Luke, on the other hand, yep, I get Luke and his attraction and why she's drawn to him. Finlay and Danny. They aren't perfect, but no one is, and they are redeemable.
That's the good. Here's the bad, in my opinion.
1) for some reason she decided to stick up for Danny and in the process outing him at the same time to the chiefs but she didn't seem to care that it wasn't her secret to tell.
2) I didn't like how Evie portrayed her like a nymphomaniac. I don't understand why she had to give her best friend a lap dance? And it was odd that every time she would see one of the guys, she would feel like she was going into heat? She's not a dog. Please portray her like a 17 year old girl, not a puppy.
3) Again, she is looking over Rory's being an d^mb a$ss, but she's a bit shady herself, so it's kind of understanding why she latches onto Rory. Even if she doesn't fully trust them yet. She is disgusted by them at times.
4) She has more chemistry with Danny than she does with Luke when it comes to love interests. So, in my opinion, she would be better off being just friends with Danny and focusing on Luke as a love interest. Besides that, Danny is basically gay so it's not like there is going to be much there anyway.
This second book picks up right where the first book ended, what makes it easy to get emerged in the story immediately. I like the way the series evolves from a bully academy to a story more centered around political unrest and the position of the main characters in this conflict. It makes for an intriguing storyline, with multiple twists and turns to keep it interesting.
The fmc has her own struggles to deal with, and there are moments where I really don't understand the choices she makes. But looking at the fact that she is a seventeen year old girl overwhelmed with hormones and with a hunger for love, it actually feels more realistic than her being some kind of superhuman who always takes the right course. I think Rory is an ass, but with her history I can understand why she is drawn to him. At this moment I don't believe he deserves it, but who knows, he might surprise us later in the series. On the other hand I can absolutely understand her being drawn to Luke, Finlay and Danny. They aren't perfect, but they have redeeming qualities.
I had a hard time putting this book away to get some necessary sleep, so I can definitely recommend it. I'm allready looking forward to the third book in this series!

I am on the fence with this one. I LOVED the first book! The plot was very strong and the character were developing well. I could sense lots of angst, but that is common with bully books. This book, the second in the series, I am equally loving and questioning. First, for those who like to know, this is an extremely slow burn. There is a lot more (almost the entire book is about politics) political intrigue than the first book. At this point, I honestly have no idea who is a part of the harem. Is it all the Chiefs, maybe Danny, and what about the other one who arrives in this book? I just don't know. I have made assumptions from random comments, but the relationship between them and Jessa is all over the place. Jessa just seemed confused and possibly helpless by the end of this book. She thinks she is stronger, but I'm not positive. She questions everything she does. There are a lot of questions as to the plot, but very little has been answered at this point. I am really hoping to see more relationship development and a few more answers in the next book. Yes, I am definitely looking forward to the next book.

A reverse harem romance amidst a political backdrop
Wow. What did I just read? I never expected to be intellectually stimulated by an RH book. I felt like I was back in my college philosophy class discussing different ideologies with my classmates. It was like reading a philosophy book that gets you no answers and just more questions. It reminded me of the TV series, Scandal, where there are so many things at play and not everything is at it seems. It’s full of insight on the moral dilemma of politics and it forces you to think. The romance aspect is slow burn. Jessa’s relationship with Luke and Rory is not as developed as it is with Finlay and Danny. I’m not even sure if Danny is part of her harem. Some parts of this book made me laugh. Jessa and Danny had their moments. Luke speaks like he’s from a different era. It was an intriguing read in the best possible way. I couldn’t put the book down and it was quite a long book. The ending was something I didn’t see coming. I can’t wait for the next book to see how the story unfolds.
Not that I’m proficient at telling whether writing is good or not, I don’t think she is a bad writer and it’s not overly complicated meaning it’s easy for me to read. However, as always with these books they are the most absurd things. They are entertaining but absurd. Main things about this book that annoyed me: 1- she stuck up for Danny but basically outed him at the same time, it was just to the chiefs but she didn’t seem to care that it was her secret to tell. 2- she basically being portrayed to be a nymphomaniac, like why did she give her best friend a lap dance and every time she even senses a guy she goes into heat. Bit odd. 3- she seems to be able to overlook Rory being a cunt but as soon as someone else is remotely shady she latches onto it and doesn’t trust them. However, she does seem to be disgusted by Rory when she’s with him but still would probably let him fuck her in the middle of a hallway. Also can we just get rid of luke as a love interested, there’s more interesting chemistry with Danny and he’s basically gay.

Kind Sinners is book two in the series Lochkelvin by author Evie Kady. OK first the title- Kind Sinners, this book is nothing at all “kind” it’s a tale of brutality not in any physical form. OK maybe there’s a couple of instances. Very subtle. It’s a subtle mental brutality. but in the best ways possible. Also, let’s talk about this bit of a triangle or should we call it a hexagon. I mean you have Rory, Fin, Luke, Danny, Benji and Jessa. Talk about tension- a couple of time I thought I’d combust. Then nothing, just a lingering sense of urgency. Talk about slow burn- it’s driving me crazy but in a good way. Didn’t know this was a kink of mine (learn something new everyday). This is absolutely brilliant read if you’re into anguished unachieved moments. (like me) Enjoy!!
Kind Sinners the second book in the Lochkelvin Academy series and it felt like there was more emphasis on Jessa (FMC) and her relationship with the guys - Rory, Danny, Finley and Luke. All the ups and downs of that. Oh boy was Rory a manipulating a******e which you find out the extent of that in the final chapter and it was jaw dropping. As was that cliffhanger ending. More secrets come to light and a new guy makes an appearance. Bring plenty of flirty banter, quick wit, sarcasm and secrets. He definitely gets the guys backs up especially Rory. . Political tensions run high in this book as well as the game playing, steam and plot twists. It did slow down a bit a few times during this book but it still kept you on your toes. It was a cracking read. Bring on the next book now please
hmm hmm hmm. this series is fascinating to me. i find rory insufferable, and i’m extremely frustrated with jessa for still being obsessed with him despite his horrendous behavior towards danny. but i also understand enough to know that this is a slow reveal that these characters are not what they seem.
except jessa. and i have mixed feelings about her. generally i think i like her, but this book really shows her as being selfish and swept up, and i like when danny and finlay and benji all tell her to knock it off because they expected her to be better and to be above all this manipulation and glamor.
so i’m liking her less and less as she gets more sucked into this world of using people like pawns, but i hope she gets better in the next book!
A great second installation of Lochkelvin that starts with a bang and continues throughout. Whatever you thought you knew from the first book is in doubt and it’s hard to trace where loyalties lie!
It’s like a rollercoaster of a ride giving you constant whiplash with its many deceitful twist an turns. Packed full of mystery and intrigue this slow burn romance but fast paced action with leave with a constant NEED to know what’s going on and what will happen next. Ending on another cliffhanger that leaves you with even more questions than you thought capable but guarantees that you’ll be back for more!
*Spoilers* In the second installment of Evie Kady’s Sinners series we get more of glimpse of Jessa’s life at the academy. We see a new character at the academy his name is Benji. He is from the rebel group. He fast becomes a steady character in this book. Him and Jessa started connecting to throughout this book as well. Then you have the rest of the boys. You have Rory, Luke, Finley, and Danny. Their connection grows with Jessa throughout the book. Danny and Finley that was a shock too. But a good one. I love academy RH romances and this was another amazing read by Evie Kady. I can’t wait for book 3.

Kind Sinners started directly after the events at the end of book 1. I was really looking forward to seeing where this book took our characters and was not disappointed. It was a little slow moving for me, especially with it being the second book in the series and it is definitely slow-burn. The bullying was much less in this book, which I enjoyed and it was great to see relationships developing with Jessa and the guys. There were a few twists and turns that I definitely did not see coming and I can't wait for book 3 to see what happens.
'Kind Sinners' is a fantastic continuation from 'Cruel Saints'. It picks up literally moments after the shooting. As it picks up, it's instantly filled with intrigue. Jessa is constantly being duped in this story. The author has Jessa and readers believe one thing about the guys, but flips the script revealing that Rory is pulling everyone's strings...but who's pulling his strings? I can't wait until the next book as Jessa finally learns how to become a ruthless leader.

I liked the book, but it drove me crazy sometimes. Firstly, I can’t figure out what the chiefs are all about. Second, Jessa needs to start making her own decisions and stop following people that obviously aren’t trustworthy And the headmistress? She drives me nuts. However, Jessa and Danny’s friendship is too cute. It is only the second book, and it is already great, I can’t wait to see what happens next. The plot twists, the plots… Awesome.
How could it end like that? I need the next one like now. I fell in love with the characters and you kept me in suspense an as my head spinning. Every time I thought I knew what would happen next you Threw me for a loop. The only thing that would have made this better would be more "Intense romantic scenes". Can't wait foe the next book.
With the second book done I’m still waiting for a Reverse Harem Romance. As a political drama these two books are great but when you make it halfway through a romance series and there still isn’t any romance is hard to keep reading. I am still going to read the third book because the blurb shows some hopeful romance between Jesse and the chiefs.
This book had me biting my nails and my insides in knots! I couldn't put it down. The storyline is superbly written out and engaging! I highly recommend this book as well as the series so far.

This is a good continuation from Cruel Saints. There is a lot of intrigue and drama to the characters. I look forward to reading more about them to see what will happen.

Such a good good book, it’s a slow burn so slow you almost don’t feel the heat but you can’t seem to put it down because you know with just a little patience the fire will consume you
At this point, I am just obsessed and not ashamed to admit it. Slow burn? Neah, it feels more like the author is burning you at the stake while you have the ability to regenerate over and over again...
Skipped most of the political stuff. Jessa is still a little doormat and is too nosy for her own good. I don’t think I’ll continue this series, honestly. Her actions sometimes confuse me. She doesn’t want anything to do with them but ends up doing it anyway. Both dances? And then the ending… smh.

As this story moves along the boys show more of the cards hidden and Rory is losing his battle.to the girl. What will happen now that the prime minister is acting shady
There is so much to unpack, this dark, Billy academy series has plenty of intrigue, secrets and drama. This highlights the chasm between the haves and the have nots. I find I cannot stop reading, even when I am annoyed with the protagonist for being so gullible. Now for book 3!
This story continues from the first book so I would recommend that you definitely read that first. There is still so much going on between Jess and the boys, and the angst and mysteries continue. I found it entertaining and cannot wait until the third book is out to find out what happens next!
I received a free advanced review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest opinion.
